Gwen's P.O.V

I stared at him, incredulously.

"This is messed up. My mother... She couldn't hurt a fly." My voice was hoarse. Duncan nodded, and Alejandro shrugged.

"I don't know you or your family very well." He stated. My family... Something in my mind clicked.

"My mother couldn't hurt a fly, but my father..." I trailed off and saw Duncan looking at me, his eyes wide.

"Had one dirty conscience"

He finished for me. Silence fell on us. I thought about it. This made sense. Duncan placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Standing here won't help. We need to find Heather." I said.

"We can't ask police for help." Duncan said firmly. I looked at him, surprised.

"Why?" Alejandro was now facing the two of us.

"They won't do anything. If they weren't able to find the people who killed their parents,

Do you seriously think they will bother looking for Heather? They won't get much out for their bother. Not to mention, they will just take Gwen to a child's home."

He pulled me closer to him, as if to prevent any imaginary policeman from taking me away. Alejandro nodded.

"It will be better if we split up."

Both Duncan and I nodded. It was for our safety. We all agreed which parts of city we're going to take, and went our separate ways. I would be lying if I said I didn't care about what could be happening to Heather. Not only because it could happen to me as well, but also because... There was a time when the two of us were friends. Even if now I wasn't fond of her, I couldn't forget everything that we've been through, not in one day. My train of thoughts was interrupted by one of my favorite songs.

I'm so sick, infected with where I live, let me live without this- I answered my phone.

"Hello?"

"Ms. Saliander?" It was Mr. Rodriguez.

"Yes Mr. Rodriguez?" I asked, paling, hoping they didn't know yet.

"I wanted to inform you that a policeman will check on you and Ms. Chang tomorrow." My heart stopped beating and for a second all my hopes crushed. I gulped.

"Oh, alright. I will tell Heather." I said.

"Great. Also, if there are any problems, please inform us. And remember, we do all of this for your own safety." I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. As soon as he hung up I called Duncan.

"Did you find her?" He asked.

"No. You?"

"No."

"We have to hurry up. Mr. Rodriguez just told me tomorrow a policeman will check up on us." He swore and I hung up. Then, I called Alejandro.

"Did you find her?" His tone was so much different from Duncan's. Both of them were hopeful, but Duncan's was hopeful in a 'It-Will-Be-Done' way, and Alejandro seemed to be truly concerned about Heather's well being. Seemed being the key word.

"No such luck. You?"

"No."

"We need to hurry up. Mr. Rodriguez just informed me that we will have a visitor from the police tomorrow." He said something in Spanish (something rather nasty). I hung up, and started to look for Heather with more intensity than ever.

Duncan's P.O.V

We need to find Heather. As useless as she is, the police cannot know she had been kidnapped. Pasty is endangered. These people, whoever they are, are determined to get their revenge, and if they would catch her... Pasty's been here for me through thick and thin. No matter what I've done, or what I've said, she always would be here for me. I can't imagine my life without her. Sure I survived being in juvie, so I should be a tough guy who doesn't need anybody, but frankly, I need Pasty. She knows how to calm me down, she knows me better than anyone else. Sometimes I feel as if she knew me better than I do. I blinked, trying to find out where I was. I needed to find Heather. Right.

~a few hours later~

We were all in Gwen's and Heather's loft. Gwen was sitting on her sofa, me next to her. She was crying.

"It's hopeless." She whispered, and put her head on my shoulder.

"No it's not! We might still find her!" I said trying to cheer her up. It didn't work.

"Duncan, if the police take me away, you should know that you are the best friend I could've asked for." I felt tears forming in my eyes, and I blinked them away.

"I won't let them take you." I tried so hard not to cry. Gwen shook her head.

"No. I would only endanger you." She said softly. She then hugged me and I felt her tears wet my shirt. I hugged back, feeling the scent of her vanilla shampoo. I could feel Alejandro watching us, but I didn't care.

"I'll leave you two." He finally said, and left the two of us. After what seemed an eternity, we let go of each other. I could feel my tears falling down, but I could care less. My best friend would most likely leave tomorrow, and there was nothing I could do about this... Actually, there was. I stood up.

"I'm looking for Heather. I'll come back in two hours." I kissed her on the cheek.

"Duncan?" I turned around, and she looked at me.

"Please, be careful." I smiled at her.

"I will." Then, I walked out of the apartment.

Alejandro's P.O.V

I was walking down a small alley, my hands in my pockets. I didn't even know why I bothered so much. If our roles were reversed, Heather wouldn't care about me. Courtney was persuaded that I liked her, but this couldn't be true. She was the most annoying person I've ever met, thinking she's better than anyone else... Suddenly, I saw something. It was a piece of paper. I took it up, and read it. My eyes widened. It was my phone number. I remembered giving her it. I was sure she threw it out. Though then again, she had my number on her phone. It was laying near a wall. I started walking around it, trying to find any other clue. When I couldn't find any, I looked around, and when I realised I was all alone, I started climbing the wall. It wasn't an easy task, but not an impossible one. Once on the other side, I paled. I was in somebody's garden. I quickly hid behind some bushes, and observed from there. There were some small statues and... A fountain? Something about the fountain ticked me off. Before I could check what, my phone buzzed. It was a message from Duncan.

Staying over at Gwen's. Don't come.

I kinda felt bad for him. I don't know what would I do if someone had to take Courtney away. I concentrated on the fountain again. Suddenly it hit me. It wasn't working. It didn't even seem to be attached in the earth. I looked at the house, but it was quiet. I crept over to the fountain, and pushed it. Soon, I was in front of an entrance to a tunnel. I looked around before entering. Much to my surprise, the fountain fell back to its place on its own.

Once in the tunnel, I started to creep, and tried not to bump into anything. There was no light or anything to help me see where was I. The ground was rocky, uneven and hard to creep on. There was a lot of crossroads as well. I always went for the better smelling ones. I don't know for how long was I in there, but I heard a sigh full of pain. It sounded familiar. My pace fastened, and I found myself in front of big, iron doors. They creaked, and two people walked out. It was hard to see anything.

"Can't we just kill her already?" One person whined. The voice was male, really deep.

"No. We can't. We don't have the permission." The second one answered. This was a female voice, and it sounded... soft. I grabbed the doors, hoping they haven't noticed me. When they disappeared behind a corner, I quickly went in, the doors closing behind me with a loud noise.

The room was full of shelves, with different kinds of liquids, blades and things I wasn't able to name. There was an only lamp on the center.

However, I didn't pay any attention to this. All my attention was on Heather. She was in the center of the room, on a hospital bed.

Luckily for me, she wasn't tied or anything. She looked ill. Her skin was becoming greyish, and she had trouble breathing. I quietly came to where she was. When I saw her, all fragile and delicate, I felt like crying. I took her hand into mine, and she opened her eyes a little.

"Alejandro?" She whispered weakly, and I shushed her, before taking her into my arms. She was shivering, and I saw some cuts on her arms and legs. I wanted to kill the person who have done this to her, but I had to get her to safety first. I saw another door. I carefully walked towards it, and pressed my ear against them. I heard no sound, so I quietly opened it, and went out. In front of me were stairs, leading towards another door. Once on top of the stairs, I pressed my ear against it. I heard people chatting, walking, cars... It was a door leading outside! I opened it, and realised that I was walking out of... A toilet cabin in a park. It was already night, but there were a lot of people outside. I could feel Heather shivering, so I took off my blouse, and put it on her. Then, I started looking for my mustang. Once I did, I put Heather in the passenger seat, and drove to Duncan's and mine apartment. When we arrived, I put her in Duncan's bed, before taking a cold shower. Then, I passed out on my bed.

Finally finished this chapter! So, what did you think about it? Bad? Good? Also, please tell me was my attempt to make some touching scenes good or bad? I know Al's P.O.V is completely messed up, sorry about this. How do you think they will be able to explain Heather's ill appearance? Please review!
