Chapter

A/N: Just saw the trailer for RWBY season 2. IT LOOKS AWESOME! So I decided to go ahead and write this.

ENJOY!

In an empty part of Beacon, an astrolabe began to spin. Slowly but quickly gaining speed before a light appeared and it expanded to form a portal, and four figures landed in a crouch, with a fifth over one's shoulder.

"Yang, got get Professor Ozpin. Blake, take him to the nurse, and Ruby-"

"I'll take him!" Ruby exclaimed.

In a swift moment, she grabbed the fifth figure off of Weiss and disappeared in a flash of red and rose petals.

Weiss cursed under her breath, "Ruby you dolt."

"What's wrong?" Blake asked.

Yang sighed, "That guy's name is Jerry. He was one of the people Ruby was hanging out with during our time in his world," Yang stated before crossing her arms as she walked over to Weiss, "Yet what is he doing here?" she asked.

Weiss was very good at a poker face, so she looked Yang in the eye and said, "His aura has awakened. How? I am not truly sure as to how it happened, but I recognized it."

Weiss wasn't lying; she truly was not sure on how his aura was awakened. It just was, but the sooner she conducted her research on him, the sooner she could figure out how to get that Dust.

But first…

Yang sighed, "We better get to Ozpin," she said.

"Yes, you do that. I for one, and going to go get clean. Sitting in that car has probably made smoke sink into my clothes," Weiss said.

"Well it's just you and me partner," Yang said as she wrapped an arm around her partners shoulder.

Blake just shrugged before they quickly left.

However, if they had stayed; instead of the astrolabe slowing to a stop, it had remained its same speed during the entire conversation. Soon, another light had appeared and three figures all flew out of the portal and crashed onto the ground.

One figure groaned before getting to his feet and brushing himself off, "You two alright?" he asked.

The figure on the left got up slowly before walking to the last figure on the ground, "Yeah, I'm go- what the?!"

The first figure turned to the last remaining person on the ground.

"Uhh, are you alright Will?" One asked.

Will slowly nodded his head, "That was AWESOME!" he shouted. "We were all like DOO WEE OOO! Like the TARDIS from Doctor Who! Then I felt this weird tingling on top of my head, a good kinda tingling like when water is poured on your head and it's not too hot or cold but it the perfect temperature! Why do you ask Conner?"

Conner falters before pointing at Wills head. Will reaches up to feel something…soft and fluffy…and it wasn't his hair.

Grabbing whatever it was, he tugged at it only to feel extraordinary pain, which caused him to whine and let go of the fluffy objects.

Wait…whine?

He looked around before seeing a shiny console, rushing over to it; he quickly staring at his reflection, he gasps before slowly reaching up for the fluffy things.

He had ears. Wolf ears to be more precise.

He looked back at his companions to see that they were looking at him curiously.

"I HAVE WOLF EARS!" he shouted, "THIS IS AWESOME! NOW I CAN DO COOL WOLF TRICKS AND MOVE MY EARS AND HOWL AT THE MOON AND-"

He was cut off as the last figure raced over and slammed a hand over his mouth.

"Will, we are supposed to be spying on Jerry and making sure he doesn't do anything stupid, or get hurt. Alright Will?"

Will nodded, "Yes Dae."

"It's Damian, not Dae. Now we just need to find a place to sleep," Damian said.

"W-Why not here?" Conner said nervously, "I-It's not like they're going to come back here a-anytime soon."

Damian nodded, "Good idea. Let's just stay here for a while, and tonight I'll go see if I can snag us some food and blankets."

Jerry's POV…

I wasn't sure where I was. I was standing on a circular platform, the design of a leaf was carved on the floor; stone columns circled the edges of the platform.

"Hello?" I say.

My voice echoed for a few seconds before fading entirely.

"Hello."

I whirl around to see…me.

I cock my head at it, the thing smiled before opening its arms, "Don't worry, I am not going to hurt you…not that I could anyway," it said.

"Who are you?" I ask.

The thing paused for a moment before smiling, "Well…I am Dust."

"Dust?" I say.

"Yes, Dust," he confirmed.

"So your name…is Dust?"

The thing sighed before shaking its head, "No, that's what I literally am. I am the Dust inside your body."

I blink, "How are you…me? I mean, shouldn't you be more…powdery and stuff?" I ask.

"Well, I needed to talk to you because of what we are now. In order to do that, I decided to form a likeness of your body and use it to talk to you," Dust said.

"Ok…why?"

Dust clapped his hands together, "Well I needed to warn you on how much you use me…well the Dust."

I blinked, "Again, why? It's just Dust."

"Yes…normally you'd be right," Dust said as he walked around me, "However that is no longer the case. You see, when you absorbed me into your body, you wouldn't have survived unless I changed you."

"What do you mean by change me?" I ask.

Dust pointed at an empty space between too columns, then an image of a DNA strand popped up; only it seemed to be…glowing.

"In order to save your body, we had to change your whole DNA structure. Right now, you are essentially a living Dust crystal," he said.

"So why is that bad?" I asked.

"You see," Dust waved his hand and the DNA strand disappeared, "While I am not truly sure how, but when the Dust altered your DNA; it also found a way to replicate itself using your blood. In short, the Dust inside you will never run out, making you a big target for Roman Torchwick."

I was about to ask about what kind of Dust I had when I felt something touch my head. Looking up and around, I don't see anything but I still feel something touching my head.

I look at Dust, "Is this you?" I ask.

He frowned and shook his head, "That's from your end, meaning you're waking up!" he exclaimed, "Now I won't be able to speak to you again, this was the only time, so good-bye Jerry."

With that, the platform began to rumble and shake before it collapsed.

I slowly opened my eyes; everything was blurry though due to the lack of my spectacles. I look around and see a blur of black and red; I'm guessing that was the thing rubbing my head.

"Hello," I say.

The blur gasps before it backs away; I hear it bump into something before a squeal and the sound of shattering glass.

Sitting up quickly, I ask, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah," it replied.

"…Are you a girl?" I ask.

The person sighed a bit indigently, "Of course I am!"

I winced, "Sorry, I just can't see without my spectacles," I explain.

The whole area was white, until I saw the black blur return slowly.

"Sorry if I startled you," I say.

"Its fine Jerry," she said.

I frown, "How do you know my name?" I ask.

The girl froze, "Um…"

She trailed off, blinking I see her reaching out a hand with…my spectacles!

Smiling, I snagged them before quickly shoving them onto my face. The world comes into focus and I see that I was in some kind of medical room, lying on a bed. The curtains were drawn around the sides and to the right was Fl-Ruby and fallen medical supplies.

"Hi," she said, "My names not Flora Summers, its Ruby. Ruby Rose."

I blink before extending a hand, "It's nice to meet you Ruby Rose…officially this time."

She looked at me confused and took the hand, "You're not…mad at me?"

I look at her confused, "Why would I be? I mean you saved me from those guys back in the cafeteria-"

The cafeteria.

The fight.

The crystal.

Pain.

Where was I?

"So Ruby…where am I?"

Ruby smiled, "You're in Beacon Academy! Combat school for future Hunters and Huntresses!"

Beacon Academy, school for teaching people how to fight Grimm.

I nodded me head, "So…I'm in the clinic of Beacon?" I ask.

"Yup," Ruby said, popping the 'p'

"Can I get up?"

"Oh sure sure sure."

I throw back the covers to see that I was still wearing my clothes, a T-Shirt, jeans and some Converses. (Thank goodness, I didn't want to be in some hospital gown!) and move my feet off the bed. Ruby was right there, and she gently began to pull me up to my feet. Taking a first step, my legs couldn't hold my weight and I began to fall, latching onto Ruby's arm and accidently pulling her down with me.

I swear it's like some force just keeps causing me to fall.

Yet again, she had fallen on me; her arms on my chest while mine were cradling her again, one wrapped around her back and the other on her head.

"Are you alright?" I ask.

"I'm fine…Comfy Target," she said.

"Haha," I deadpan.

By then I had my elbows propped up to support me while Ruby was using her hands.

"Well no sense on being on the floor," I say.

"Yes…and where would a better place be?" someone asked.

"Standing up. Why do you-"

I turn and see WBY of team RWBY standing there. Weiss was looking at me in a cool and calculating way, Blake had a book in her hand while her amber eyes flicked between me and Ruby. Yang's hair was flickering slightly as her eyes began to turn red; her fists were held tightly at her side.

Man, if I wasn't so terrified out of my mind I would be excessively fanboying over the team.

"This is not what it looks like!" Ruby says.

"What she said," I stated.

Yang was gritting her teeth slightly, Blake was grinning slightly and Weiss was still looking at me as if I was a puzzle.

"Come with us, Professor Ozpin wants to see you," she said.

"Ozpin," I say in a questioning voice.

Professor Ozpin! Headmaster at Beacon and the one who interviewed Ruby and knows something about her eyes being silver! Oh man this was-

"Professor Ozpin is the headmaster at Beaco-why did you just slap yourself?"

"Just…keeping my thoughts in check," I reply.

"What about?" Yang asked dangerously.

"J-Just making sure that I remember everything, it's a lot to take in," I say.

Yang looked at me still before turning on her heel and walking out, Ruby pulled me up and we began to make our way to Ozpin's office, from what I saw of the Volume 2 intro, it would look so cool.

After a while, we were all walking up a flight of stairs before we were standing outside a pair of metal doors.

"Here we are," Ruby said, swinging her arms.

"So I just…go in?" I ask.

"Yes," Blake said, "Well, I guess we'll be seeing you."

"Bye," Ruby said.

"Bye."

I wave at the group as they leave, Ruby and Yang both turn around, Ruby smiled and waved back, electing a grin on my face, but Yang was glaring at me and cracking her knuckles as she went down the stairs. I swallow nervously before turning back to the door and knocking.

"Enter."

I watch as the doors open automatically and I walked into the office with awe.

A steady ticking sound echoed through the room, above and below were all gears whirring together, all being seen through green tinted glass. A polite cough was heard, looking up, I see a glass desk with various paperwork and a coffee mug; sitting in a chair, was Professor Ozpin himself, a clock face was behind him, facing outwards along Beacon.

"Hello, would you like to sit down?" he asked.

I nodded while still looking around, I nearly fell when I missed the chair, my hand was the only thing that helped keep me supported. While Ozpin coughed into his hand I quickly sat in the chair embarrassed.

"Well young man. You have caused quite a stir here," Ozpin stated.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to…but frankly I still have no idea what is going on or why I am here," I say.

Ozpin takes a sip from his coffee mug, "Well then, allow me to explain. You see, your dimension is not known to us in this one; so we found it very intriguing that a person has had his aura unlocked and-"

"I don't think I am the first," I say.

"Oh?" Ozpin said politely.

I blinked, I had just interrupted Ozpin…THE Ozpin!

"I am so sorry about interrupting you, please-"

"No it's fine young man. You were curious about such a place and I for one am very curious about your culture," Ozpin said before gesturing at me, "Please continue."

Wow, not much was known about Ozpin, but he seemed like a great guy in Volume One, now I know he is…not even Monty Oum can say he personally met Ozpin, SUCK IT MONTY.

"Well, you see there is a place called Japan where I'm from," I began, "and centuries ago, around the twelve century, that's 1-2-0-0. There were warriors known as ninja and samurai."

Ozpin looked intrigued.

"Now, ninja were sort of…assassins. They specialized in stealth and smaller weaponry for fighting, while samurai were noble guards that focused on honor. Now getting to the point, they had an aura to sense their enemies…" I trail off, how to explain this.

The pond theory.

Snapping my fingers, without thinking I grab Ozpin's coffee mug and snag a pen cap. I half expected Ozpin to stop me, since I've read all the comments on him and coffee but after looking at him, he seemed a mix of amused and curious.

"Please continue."

"Well…imagine this coffee mug is the range of aura and in the very center is a person." I point at the center of the drink with the end of the pen cap, being careful not to touch it. "Now, when a samurai or ninja are highly focused, they can feel this aura and detect when people enter it because they leave-"

I dip the pen cap into the mug several times, slowly but carefully in different places.

"Ripples," Ozpin finished.

"Exactly."

"Well…this is quite a surprise," Ozpin said, leaning back in his chair, "do all you your kind have aura control?" he asked.

"Oh no, you see it's been around, over eight hundred years now. Most people aren't focused on aura manipulation," I say, "It's not really a common practice anymore."

"Why is that?" Ozpin asked.

"The introduction of technology," I explain, "Using electricity for all sorts of needs."

Ozpin nodded his head, "Do you know who I am?" he asked.

"Professor Ozpin. Headmaster at Beacon Academy, the school that teaches warriors how to fight Grimm," I say.

"Hm, you seem to know a lot about me," Ozpin said.

While on the inside I was freaking out, I say, "Ruby told me about this place."

I could not tell Ozpin that much about my world, who knows what might happen if I told him about Volume One.

"It seems that you and Miss Rose have gotten along nicely," he said.

I scratched the back of my head, "She was nice."

"What is your name young man?" Ozpin asked.

"Jerry, Jerry Cipher."

"Well Mister Cipher," Ozpin turned in his chair and looked at the clock, "It is almost time for dinner. Would you like to accompany me down to the Dining Hall?" he asked.

"S-Sure," I say standing up.

"Yes, please meet me outside my office, once I set some things correct, I will meet you outside," he said.

I nodded my head before walking out of the office.

Ozpin looked at where Jerry Cipher just left.

"What do you think?"

Glynda Goodwitch stepped into sight, "I believe that he is hiding something."

"Aren't we all?"

Glynda gives Ozpin a glare, "This is risky, taking in someone from another world entirely."

"Yes, but…this boy is different. I can feel it," Ozpin said.

"Miss Schnee wishes to talk to you about the mission, something about it not entirely being a failure," Glynda said.

"Well I shall see her later then, but now," Ozpin stood before snatching up his cane, "I have dinner to attend."

Jerry's POV…

"You never did tell me, what are you planning for me here?" I asked.

We were currently walking along a path to the Dining Hall, to the right I could see the landing pad where the airship would land and the large fountain.

"Since your aura is unlocked, you cannot view your world as the same again, in the spur of the moment Weiss Schnee brought you here. So in the meantime, perhaps it is best that you stay here," Ozpin said.

I stopped dead in my tracks, stay here? At Beacon? As in I would be training in Combat Class alongside Teams RWBY, JNPR and CRDL? As in studying Grimm in Ports class as he drones on about his youth? As in listening to Oobleck's class on World History? As in dorm room with-

Something tapped my forehead.

I blink and see Ozpin looking at me with curiosity, "Are you alright Jerry?" he asked.

I'M GOING TO ATTENED BEACON ACADEMY?!

Ozpin jumped back in shock, it was a moment after that I realized that I shouted.

"I'm sorry!" I exclaimed, "I-I didn't- I mean I just-"

"Breathe Jerry," Ozpin chuckled.

I do as the Headmaster asked and sucked in several large breaths.

"It seems as if you're more excited than I thought," Ozpin said.

"W-Well it's just that-Beacon sounds so COOL and I'm just…average I guess," I say.

"People are born great; some achieve greatness; and some-"

"-have greatness thrust upon them." I finish, "That's a phrase from a famous guy back in my world."

Ozpin smiled, "Well it's good to know that some similarities remain."

By then we had reached the Dining Hall, together Ozpin and I entered.

"So what do you think of my school so far?" he asked.

"Well it looks amazing," I say as we got into a line, I snagged a tray for both myself and Ozpin, since he still had his cane.

"Really?" he asked, I could hear the smile on his face, "This school has been here for decades, it has had time to improve."

I nod my head as they finish loading the trays. Grabbing Ozpin's and my own, I turn to see that the whole Hall was looking at us.

"…You distracted me didn't you?" I ask.

Ozpin smiled, "Well I didn't want you intimidated on your first day."

I look around and see a familiar black bow.

"D-Do you mind if-"

"You are the guest Mister Cipher, you decide where we sit."

Smiling, I walk towards the table team RWBY was sitting at.

"-and then we made cool bone necklaces from the claws of an Ursa."

"Beowolf Nora."

"Details Ren, de-Oooo, new friends!"

They all turn and look at us.

"Hello," I say.

"Jerr-P-Professor Ozpin," Weiss stammered.

"Hello," Ozpin said, "I hope you don't mind the intrusion here," he said.

"No trouble at all sir," she said.

Ozpin sits down at the table beside Yang while I sit next to him and set the trays down.

"Heya Jerry."

I look up to see Ruby across from me, smiling brightly. I was about to say help again when I felt something grab my face and turn it to the left.

A pair of bright, baby blue eyes filled my vision.

"OOOOoooooo. Are you an alien?" the person asked, "If you are an alien that would be so cool. I mean, ray guns and you can go all 'Shhhpooowwwww' on us and we'll be all 'eeeeeeeyaaaaa' if you were mean but if your nice we'd all be really good friends and eat pancakes and-"

For a moment I thought it was Will and was about to ask him to let go when a monotone voice stopped me.

"Nora, please let our friend go," it said.

"Yes Ren," and the person let go.

It took me a moment to recognize them. Lie Ren was sitting there, coffee mug in hand and in his green Middle-Eastern outfit while Nora Valkyrie looked at me excitedly. Looking around, I see Jaune Arc, klutzy knight and the Spartan themed warrior, Pyrrha Nikos looking at me with curiosity.

"My names Jerry, nice to meet you…?" I trail off.

"NORA!" the girl shouted excitedly and throwing up her hands.

"Ren," said the stoic boy.

"Pyrrha, nice to meet you," she stated.

"Jaune Arc," the knight said before getting a bit cocky, "Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue, ladies love it."

Understand I really liked Jaune, he was a great guy who just needed some…pointers, and I was glad to tell him one concerning his introduction.

As a small groan from Weiss and Pyrrha sounded, I looked at him with a serious look, "Piece of advice Jaune," I say. "When girls are looking for confidence, there is a difference before arrogance and confidence,"

That got a chuckle from some of the girls while Jaune groaned, "Have I really been doing that?"

Pyrrha rubbed his shoulder, "Kinda," she said hesitantly.

While I looked like a blank face, my thoughts were in fanboy mode.

ARKOS CANNONS AT THE READY!

AIM!

"Try and be confident with talking, but not so much as to present yourself as a ladies man," I say as I reach over and pat his shoulder, "just…be you."

Pyrrha looked at me with a smile, which I gladly returned.

FIRE!

FIRE!

FIRE!
