~Picnic on Victory Hill~

As Vexzle laid out a picnic blanket on the ground under a large oak tree he put Amy, Emile, and Mark to setting up the plates and food. Current went to grab Emile's pack. Not only he came back with Emile's pack but he was driving a bigger surprise…a space ship. Well it was more like an advance stealth fighter ship of some kind. Mark had never seen a ship like it before. He would call it a jet but he thought that wouldn't be giving this fine machine all the glory it deserved. Mark's face must have been showing just much he was in awe of the ship because Current noticed.

"This is the D-Altair. I built it from an old manual Emile found not long after we met. The D-Altair is a human made spacecraft made in 2098. It was a collaborative project between the U.S. and Soviet Union. I've retrofitted it over time with other add ons and Dialga blessed it as well." Current said in proud, but not bragging, manner. "That's so cool! What can it do as far as add ons?", Mark asked. "It can tear and sew the space-time continuum, a cloaking device, incredibly fast and maneuverable, capable of jamming radars and able to avoiding weaker telepaths. It took some tinkering with evolution stones. The two chain-guns there, are loaded with marythian bullets.", Current's eyes seem to be in the past, rebuilding the D-Altair part for part. "Unfortunately the D-Altair is very flimsy when it comes to taking damage. So it's not an ideal battle ship." Current's attention was on the D-Altair.

Mark felt a ping of understanding from the way Current talked about the D-Altair. Looking down at the camera around his neck he remembered every part used to make it, every hour he spent building it, and how building something from the ground up with your own hands made you proud of it. But not proud because you made it yourself…no more proud that it was made. Like how a child is born; the father is proud the baby was born, but not because he made the baby exist. No because the baby made it. Because it works; it's like looking at yourself in a different form. Mark shook his head, thinking to himself, 'I'm over thinking again. Back to work!'

Soon the blanket was laid out and food was placed on plates and silverware was handed out. Everything and everyone was quite for a long while before Amy spoke up. "Everything seems to be happening so fast.", Amy said absently to on one particular. "Yes my little one. Things are moving quit fast indeed. But remember this has not been the first time a human has become a pokemon, nor is it the first time a legendary pokemon has called out for help from rescue teams.", said Vexzle as he stared at the sun raise while holding the berry ball (*1) that he had been nibbling on. "And it sadly will not be the last.". Mark's mind wondered as he looked over their small group.

Emile was sitting very close to Current as he ate a berry jelly and nut sandwich. Current dropped a napkin on Emile's lap while still biting into his own sandwich. As if to say 'Clean your face, you have jelly all over yourself.' And Emile did have berry jelly all over his cute yellow cheeks. Emile took the napkin and wiped his cheeks clean before grabbing another sandwich, and once again getting jelly all over his cheeks. Mark smiled and reaches to grab his first hot roll from the basket full of warm breads. Only when he reached out did he noticed that Amy hadn't touched her food.

"Amy what's wrong?", Mark whispered while Current and Vexzle started to talk about different dimensions. "Well…after we made the food…I I did rush up the path when you hadn't come home. I was very worried about you. Ghost pokemon like to run around playing mean tricks on pokemon at night. And so I tried to fly my way here, only I didn't get off the ground. So my wings hurt too much to hold my sandwich to my mouth.", Amy huffed as she looked down at her feet in shame. Amy feared Mark would laugh at her or tease her. But at the same time she felt she deserved it for being stupid. Only Mark didn't laugh, not even a little. "Let me help then."

Instead Mark held up Amy's food to her mouth for her. Amy looked at Mark to see if he was joking or not, but this was a mistake. Mark's soft brown eyes were even more inviting than a normal Pichu, or at least Amy thought so. She almost forgot she was staring until Mark smiled. At that Amy jumped back into the present moment and took a quick bit to hide the fact there had been too long of a pause. Amy looked over the group and seemingly no one noticed, not even Mark. "What about you Mark? You have to eat too.", Amy asked quietly. "I can hold your sandwich in one hand and my roll in the other.", Mark smiled cheerfully. The groups talk snapped both Mark and Amy back into the present moment.

"So you and Emile are from a different Dimension from us? Fascinating!", Vexzle chimed. " In our dimension the world are a bit…rougher." Current stated carefully. Vexzle nodded his head, "Sadly many dimension are harder to deal with than others. And sadly even ours isn't perfect to say the least." Vexzle nodded woefully. "If you're from a different Dimension why are you here? I mean you were just telling Vexzle all the things about your world and how things are different compared to our world.", Mark ask curiously.(*1) Current sat up just a bit more firm, which made him look both cool-headed as well as strict. "We were told to teach you have to survive in the dungeons and how make tools you would need in order to stay alive.", Current's voice never seemed to raise or fall in volume or tone. "Ok, but you guys are a rescue team right?", Amy asked while her head tilted right a bit. Current and Emile just nodded. "So who ever heard of a mission where you have to train a newbie rescue team to survive in the dungeons?", Amy asked. "Well…you see", Emile paused for a moment before saying, "This was a secret mission. We were ask personally by another rescue team to help.". "They call themselves Rescue Team Soul Gates.", Current said reflectively.

"Soul Gates…", Amy stood up and started to pace back and forth. She didn't know why but she had heard this team name before. But where? "Soul Gates…so you're here again working to free the souls of others.", Vexzle stated absently. Current calmly stood up, "You know about them? What can you tell us?". Current wasn't animated but his voice said it all; 'I want to know who I'm dealing with.' "Soul Gates is a Rescue Team with a human pokemon as one of their founder.", there was a small gasp from group as Vexzle went on. "Yes, but that's not what makes this team so special. They call themselves Soul Gates because they take missions throughout time and space to save souls of human and pokemon alike from darkness. When Amy was brought to me the night her family drowned with many other pokemon during a flood by these pokemon. They had been one of the many teams out there saving those they could and as fast as they could. At the time Soul Gates was still a bit new to the rescue teams. But they were building a name fast and were proving to be as powerful as they were kind.", Vexzle paused to let all this sink in first.

Then he went on. "Current, Emile I know you don't know this. Amy is my adopted daughter. So that's why she's living with me. And why we are two very different pokemon breeds." Vexzle explained. "I figured as much. Emile here is also lost his family and is now in my care.", Current stated grimly. "Yea he saved my life and took care of me!", Emile smiled cheerfully at Current who gave him a small grin. 'There's no hiding it. Current and Emile are close. Despite all odds they couldn't be closer friends.' thought Mark. "In fact, it was their founder that save Amy.", Vexzle smiled kindly. "NO WAY!", Amy's shout made everyone but Vexzle jump. Her eyes shined and shimmered as her heart pounded with joy. Vexzle had never told her who had saved her. Amy figured that it was someone he didn't know personally. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?". "Because at the time they were Hunted by the Rescue Teams." "WHAT?!", shouted the group. "What did they do? Why were they being hunted?", Mark asked.

"Because their founder was a human pokemon. You see when the world started to fail about was about the same time human pokemon showed up. Many thought and still do it's their fault for mess the world's balance up. But truth be told they were chosen to save the world from being ruined. In order to defect an enemy that can't be stopped by normal pokemon it had to be a self-sacrificing human soul in a pokemon's body to save us all.", the group went quiet.

And after a long while in silence, "What was his name? …You the know the pokemon's name that saved me?", Amy asked. Vexzle giggled a bit and said, "It was a she and her name was Sony. She was a cheerful little Pikachu with a green ribbon around her right ear. The night she saved you she and her partner Blaze, a Combusken at the time, had been fleeing a team near the flood zone. She saw your house crumble as a wave of water crashed thought the north wall. Upon hearing your cry from the crumbling house she's couldn't let you drown. And while Blaze wanted to protect Sony from being caught he too wanted to save you. So they risked their lives and freedom on saving you. Blaze could not swim so they tired a rope around Sony's belly and he threw her as far as he could around the water to you. Sony swum towards you as fast as she could. You were dragged under the water and she dived for you.

She to nearly drowned trying to save you and once she had you Blaze pulled you both in. They couldn't find your family so they walked to the nearest house that was safely away from the flood zone. Which was my house.", Vexzle smiled, "They begged me not to tell anyone by name saved you. I agreed to such, seeing as how a team that risked everything to save a random child in need didn't sound like monsters to me. And for years I never said who had saved you even when months later they were proven to be innocent." "And we great thank you Master Vex.", the new voice had started everyone but for Vexzle and Current. Amy, Mark, and Emile had not heard the new voice approach them. And as they turned and looked they saw a Pikachu with a green ribbon around her right ear and a tall Blaziken standing behind her with a large group of other pokemon with them.

"We are team Soul Gates! And these are someone our team mates as well as some helping hands to get us from our world to this one.", the Pikachu winked cheerfully and said, "By the way my name is Sony and this tall tree of a pokemon is Blaze." Blaze smiled a bit at what Sony and gave her a look that said 'Really? That's the best you can do?'.

(*1) I could go into to more details on how different their world is and all but it'd be better to read Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Broken Memories by Charlesguy's instead. Partly because it is his OCs and story but also because his story goes into better details. And I'm incapable of writing details of his world in this story and still give it justice.)

Ok I know this one is a short one but there was a lot of back story to it and if you've reviewed my story, followed or favorited you'll be in the part 2 of this. And yes I wrote your usernames' down. I said that as a thank you for putting up with my lack of uploads, poor grammar, and laziness at times I would put you as a back character in the next chapter. So if there's a pokemon you like or want to be please message me or put it in the reviews. I don't want to make anyone mad by putting them into the story as a pokemon they hate by mistake.
