I couldn't believe it; wouldn't believe it. It could be called a coincidence that Kaito-kun looked like Gaito, but to also have my pearl…it felt like fate was against me.
But, there it was in front of me. Gleaming in its container. Staring at me as I process my thoughts. I shook my head in despair: the bot I saved just had to be Kaito – didn't it?
People started gathering their stuff as the bell went. I wanted to move and leave as quick as possible, but I just sat on my chair in shock.
'Hello?' a hand waved in front of me but all I did was acknowledge it. The waving got more frantic and the persons voice continued to invade and jumble my thoughts.
'LUCHIA!' Hannon shouted. I shifted my gaze to her and gave her a sheepish smile.
'Gomen, Hannon-chan' I gave her a pleaded look before shifting my gaze to Rina. 'So what are we doing?' I asked the duo.
'Well, I am asking you where you learnt you're music?' Hannon intercepted, she somehow knew I was going to keep all topics away from music. And it kind of disturbed me that she had guessed correctly.
'As a child…um…I had to learn the piano…um…because it was necessary…' I stuttered. They didn't believe me, I could tell by the suspicious gleams in their eyes. 'So how did you two become friends? I can tell that you, Rina, are the type to sit in silence and not talk to anybody, and I would say Hannon's easy going attitude doesn't make it easy to get along right?' I raised an eyebrow at them.
They sweat dropped at my observation and it was obviously an uncomfortable subject for them. It was quite entertaining to watch them squirm under interrogation.
'Rina helped me…when I was in, err, trouble…' Hannon replied, her eyes shifted to Rina and back to me again.
'Ah! Yeah, that was it! Someone started a fight with Hannon-chan and I helped her out!' Rina's head bobbed up and down uncontrollably. It was a half-truth; their eyes held a glint of guilt and Hannon's lips were quivering slightly. I just smiled at them and started talking about their families, hobbies and interests – family was also a story of half-truths and I began to wonder what the full truth was.
We began walking out of the school, getting to know each other better. They both live in apartment at this hotel by the beach called Pearl Piari – for some reason the name rang a bell in my memory but I couldn't place my finger on it…
'The owner of the hotel is really nice. If we as–' Hannon was cut off by the sudden scream of a girl in the courtyard. We walked to the source of the noise to find a girl being harassed by a guy from another school, and it seemed that everyone was too scared to get involved.
'I told you I love you Mikai!' the guy said. He was handling her roughly and there was a bite to his words. The girl just cried.
'Then why the hell were you sleeping with another girl?! And what's worse is that the girl was my sister!' she screamed. 'You slept with my sister you asshole!'
The guy snapped and raised his hand.He grabbed his belt and began to twist it in his hand. I broke from the crowd and grabbed his hand as it swung down to hit her.
'You bitch! What the hell do you think-' I yanked his hand down hard, causing me to pull his body with him. I raised my knee and it connected with his manhood. He groaned in pain and tried to glare at me – but it faltered.
'If you truly loved your girl here,' I began, 'then you wouldn't have fucking cheated on her. Nor would you have dared to hurt her' I spat. I leaned down towards his face so that our eyes were level. 'You're a pathetic excuse for a man' I muttered but, because it was so quiet, my words echoed for everybody to hear. I pulled away and began to leave only to turn and plant my foot in his face to give a satisfying crack of his nose. 'You should seriously get that cheeked out by the way' I smirked and walked away.

By the time I got around the corner, Rina and Hannon had ran to catch up with me. They began asking questions about how I could stand up to him and be so brave. But, now that I think about it, my mind went on autopilot when he attempted to hurt the girl, Mikai. His hand was in the same position as Otou-sans's when he began all the beatings, and my body moved on its own accord.
Before I could answer any of their questions I heard several people running behind us. We slowly turned to find Kaito-kun and two other boys following him. They stopped in front of us and Kaito eyed me curiously. One of the other guys with green hair was breathing heavily while a blue haired boy was leaning down and panting like he had just ran a marathon.
'You just broke a guy's nose, and you walked away.' Kaito said.
'Well, now you have just confirmed my suspicions!' I said and clapped my hands together; Kaito raised an eyebrow at me. 'You have eyes' I smiled at him. Rina muffled a laugh while Hannon turned away to admire the wall. He frowned at me before he made the worst criticism.
'Girls are weak and fragile; you shouldn't involve yourself with violence – okay Luchia-san?' He crossed the line.
I stepped forward; pressing my body against his and my face was shoved in his direct line of sight. 'I don't think you should underestimate people judging by their gender, Kaito-kun.' I glared into his brown eyes, unflinching as he stared back with equal intensity. After a few more minutes he began to squirm under my gaze and asked something unexpected.
'So, girls, would you like to come to the surfing competition this weekend.' He glanced at Rina with pleading eyes.
Rina glanced to Hannon, then to me. She then by passed the blue haired boy to the green haired guy - her cheeks became flushed when their gazes met. 'Yeah…sure, I have nothing planned. Hannon?'
'Same as you Rina. Luchia-chan?' She replied.
'Hmm…I might be free…Okaa-san is at work I believe…' I noticed the depressed expression the passed Rina's face when I mentioned my Okaa-san. 'Yeah, I should be able to come.' I smiled at Kaito-kun then shifted my gaze to the other guy's. 'Konnichiwa, Nanami Luchia. Pleasure to meet you.' I bowed slightly.
The blue haired boy replied first. 'Nagisa Shirai, glad to meet you Nanami-san.'
'Please – Luchia is just fine.' I smiled.
'Okay Luchia-chan – call me Nagisa.' He returned my smile.
'Masahiro Hamasaki, Luchia-chan' the green haired boy bowed.
I stalked towards Masahiro-kun and fake whispered, 'I think, Hama-' I stared but his look told me to rephrase his name, 'Masahiro-kun, that my friend Rina-chan' I pointed to her, ' has a bit of a crus-'
'LUCHIA!' Rina screamed at me and pulled me away with her hand over my mouth. 'She has no idea wh- EWW! THAT'S GROSS LUCHIA!' she screeched as she wiped her hand on her trousers.
'What did she do?' Kaito-kun enquired.
'I licked her hand.' I grinned as I skipped away, leaving a furious and embarrassed Rina and four laughing teenagers on the side walk.
'Moshi ashita no daiji o sanshō shite kudasai!' (a/n – translation: see you tomorrow!) I shouted as I began to run down the path for home, with thoughts of waves, a certain red/brown haired boy and a container with a sparkling pink pearl.
