Enjoy and I hope upon hope I'll have the next chapter up soon. I love you guys thanks for all the favs and follows means a lot especially since this is my first story on Fanfic :)
Adaya leaned against the beam across from the unconscious convict, who was currently being tied up by Johns. The cop ignored her purposefully assuming if he didn't say anything to her then she wouldn't say anything in return, well like most things he was wrong.
"You know he didn't do it," Adaya said casually, as she pulled slightly on the tip of her leather gloves. She could tell by the way Johns entire back stiffened that he had heard her. She had watched him struggle to drag Riddick into the cabin before he began his attempt at tying down the beast. Johns stood up straight after finishing his task, and faced the strange woman, who stood un-phased behind him.
"And how exactly would you know that? You weren't there." Adaya glanced at the convict before looking into Johns own eyes, her whitish silver eyes seemed to look through him, it took all his will power not to shiver from the intensity behind them. Slowly she raised her hand to tap her nose several times.
"I would've smelled the blood. You saw the amount of blood, there would be no way for him to get in and out of that whole without a single drop of it on him, and he doesn't have any. So either I'm wrong or there's something else out there." She stepped forward, tilting her head at the supposed cop, her eyes narrowing slightly in a challenge knowing he wouldn't take the bait. "And you're just too scared to admit it. Keep playing hero Johns, it'll only back fire once they know the truth."
Johns reached out toward her, pulling on her hair as she walked by, he leaned in toward her ear his lips brushing against the cool skin slightly. "I've about had it with your know-it-all attitude, try it again, and next time I'll put you were you belong." Unbeknownst to Johns, Riddick had awoken just long enough to witness his little episode, as the deep chuckle reached Johns ears Johns felt a deep since of dread sink into his stomach.
"Would let her go Johns, I thought you learned the first time, she doesn't like to be touched." As if snapping out of a trance Adaya's Elbow came back in a perfectly placed blow to the ribs, Johns hunched over out of breath, his mouth opening and closing as he attempted to gather the air he needed. She wiped around her foot connecting to the base of his neck pushing him to the ground in one swift motion. She stood over him with her foot placed strategically placed on his neck barely pressing down, but that didn't mean the threat wasn't there still. She leaned down placing her wait on her firmly planted foot, her dark hair falling over her shoulder as she looked down at the cop.
"You're not the only one with secrets Johns." She didn't elaborate, nor did she wait to see if he wanted to know more, as she was off him in a matter of seconds, and up on the upper level before he even stood up completely. Johns glared at the convict as he muttered under his breath; he really did hate that woman.
Adaya waited patiently in the shadows waiting for Johns to leave before she went back to investigate the possibly injured being. She hesitated slightly after watching the cop leave making sure that he wouldn't come back for anything before she slowly made her way to Riddick, who sat quietly with his head tilted toward her. Though his eyes were closed she felt as if she herself was being watched, as his head followed her every move.
She placed her hand on the tone muscle of his bicep as she leaned into him, running her nose down the side of his neck as she inhaled deeply. She could smell his masculine scent from miles away, like a dog looking for its next bone. He could feel the heat rolling of her body as it hovered inches from his own. Something inside of her was changing and he liked it.
"I thought I was the manipulative one," Riddick joked as the exotic beauty stepped away from him, her delicate hand remaining on his large bicep. His dark silver eyes met her own whitish ones, catching his attention briefly. "How'd you get your eyes?"
"All of us are given a shine job when we reach our peak, just before beginning the real work; I was probably ten when they did it, made my eyes more adjustable to lights unlike your own." Adaya said softly, it had been an experience she would never wish on any other child. It had felt like her eyes were being burned from her skull in a slow agonizing way. She hated having to sit there and go through the pain; she was one of the youngest to ever go through it. At times she was thankful for that experience it allowed her to know what true pain was like, and dulled her pain receptors slightly after that but not by much.
"Interesting," Adaya smirked slightly at the convict as she stepped away from him completely while glancing over her shoulder, she didn't want to give the others to see just how comfortable she was near the convict, and they were already edgy enough. Adaya suddenly looked toward the opening of the cavern before she seemingly melted into the shadows, as Fry came into view, anyone could see the irritation and fear rolling of the supposed captain as she walked toward Riddick.
"So where's the body?" She asked, though Riddick remained silent so she continued on. "Are you going to tell me about the sounds?" Again she was met with silences. "Look you told Johns you heard something, that's fine if you don't want to talk to me that's fine. But just so you know there's debate right now on rather or not we should leave you here to die "
"You mean the whispers?" Adaya couldn't help the sadistic smirk the crawled over her features, she knew exactly what he was doing.
"What whispers?" Fry asked now intrigued.
"The ones telling me to go for sweet spot just to the left of the spine, fourth lumbar down, the abdominal aorta. It's a copperish taste, human blood, but you cut it with pepperish snaps it goes away-"
"You want to shock me with the truth?" Fry snapped the convict out of his game.
"All you people are so scared of me, most days I'd take that as a compliment, but it ain't me you gotta worry about now."
Fry watched the convict closely as he tilted his head towards her even as his eyes remained closed; Adaya's attention however was on Jack who currently stood at the base of the latter just a few feet beside her.
"Show me your eyes Riddick," At that statement Adaya's eyes snapped forward, taking in the woman closely. Fry seemed to have this unhealthy fascination with the convict even though Riddick didn't seem to find her as fascinating; she knew there was something there. She could practically see the wheels in his head turning, as he thought of a way to torment the docking pilot.
"You'd have to come a lot closer for that," Fry seemed to think of her next moves carefully before she actually began to walk toward him. Her steps were hesitant and reminded Adaya of a scared child. She stopped suddenly, causing Riddick to smirk at her, it was clear to her he was enjoying the uncomfortable feeling Fry was letting off. "Closer," Fry obliged after a moment's pause wiping her sweaty hand against her pants, the action caused just the right distraction for Riddick it seemed. He shot forward his face barely inches from her own and eyes looking at her like she were his next meal. Adaya couldn't help the sudden feeling that pulled at her, causing her to growl deeply, and lowly within her chest, with jealousy, though she knew she had no reason to be.
"Where the hell can I get eyes like that?" Jack asked catching the attention of the adults with in the confined area; Adaya had almost forgotten he was there so absorbed by the idiotic woman's actions.
"You have to kill a few people." She said seemingly appearing from the shadows behind the young boy, Fry's eyes landed on her in an almost panicked way. Jack however looked at her with a look of appreciation within his eyes, and a mischievous smirk across his face. She chose to ignore Riddick, though she knew his eyes were on her.
"Kay I can do that."
"Then you gotta get sent to a slam were they tell you, you'll never see day light again. You dig up a doctor pay him twenty menthol kools, so he can do a surgical shine job on your eyes-" Riddick finished for her though Jack interrupted him.
"So you can see who's sneaking up on you in the dark."
"Exactly." Fry didn't seem to like the way the two of them were talking, or more precisely the way Jack was taking an interest in the dark nature of the convict. Her eyes flickered towards Adaya who returned her gaze, and she felt as if she were looking into Riddick's eyes all over again. At that moment she wasn't sure if she should feel like a cornered animal between two predators, or not. Adaya sent chills down her spin, for reasons she didn't know, her eyes moved towards Riddick again, and Riddick sent pure terror through her. She knew she had to get Jack out of there.
"Leave!" She said harshly, and at the look that crossed the child's face she knew she was to forceful. "Leave," Fry said soft, not missing the way Adaya's eyes flickered towards the child at her actions, before they narrowed on her in a unsettling way.
"Cute Kid," Riddick joked as Jack walked away, his eyes landing on Adaya as he smirked. "Did I kill a few people sure, did I kill Zeck? No, You got the wrong killer."
Fry crossed her arms a look of irritation fell on her face as she quickly snapped out. "He's not in the hole, we looked."
"Look deeper," Adaya said calmly from behind the blonde who jumped at her sudden closeness. She hadn't heard her move but then she rationalized she was focused on Riddick. She continued to watch Riddick for a few more seconds contemplating his and the dark woman's words, before she turned her eyes focused on the ground not wanting to meet the silverish eyes she knew were following her as she left the cavern.
Adaya watched the cowardly woman walk away with a dark expression, but quickly caught herself with a growl. She was showing emotions that were highly unnecessary and completely irrational. Her brow furrowed in confusion as she realized her lack of control, trying to find the reason when a deep chuckle brought her from her thoughts. Her eyes flashed up to meet the fellow predators as he watched her with a smirk.
"What's the matter beautiful, finally realizing just how much of an animal you truly are?" He purred out as he leaned toward her though several feet still remained between them. Adaya stepped toward him closing the space between them as she placed a hand on his chest tilting her head to look up toward him.
"You're acting like you know what's going through my mind." She watched him closely as he leaned forward inhaling her scent before burrowing his face into her neck. He could feel the muscles below the smooth skin tense before the relaxed as he exhaled against it. He felt her fingers clench his shirt tightly as she controlled the involuntary shivers that would've ran down her spine.
"Oh I do, you're just in denial of what you really are," His deep voice said vibrating through her fingers as she closed her eyes briefly. "Should probably go and watch the Captain, after all we don't want her dead…yet"
Adaya managed to catch the group just as Fry was climbing down into the pit that Zeke had previously been working on before he conveniently disappeared. She glanced at the whole feeling something primitive move beneath the surface before she grabbed Fry's arm stopping her from completely dropping down to the soft ground below, causing Fry to look up at her in shock. Her blue eyes meeting the glass covered one's of the woman standing above her. She felt something in the woman above her shift as she pulled her up to stand beside her.
"What are you doing?!" Fry nearly shouted once she realized what the woman had done. She attempted to snatch her arm away from the woman only realizing it was impossible as the woman's grip seemed to be like iron.
"I'll go, it'll be better if I go they need a pilot, you don't lose anything if I don't come back out." Adaya spoke calmly as she released the woman from her vice grip, though that was the excuse she gave it wasn't even close to the reason why she chose to go down into the dark tunnel. Her curiosity of what laid within its confines was her true motive, that and she wanted to know exactly what they were up against.
"She right," Johns said from behind the duo watching the interaction closely and hoping beyond anything that the woman would never be able to escape the tunnel and die down there, that would be one less problem he would have to deal with. Adaya however chose to ignore the supposed "cop" words as she jumped down landing softly on the turned earth before Fry had a chance to speak up in refusal. She honestly couldn't stand the way the woman always seemed to argue that she should be the one doing things, that she was the one in charge, when ironically if you truly looked at the situation no one was.
Imam handed her the end of the corded rope as she step up closer to the hole, "Try this to you so we can pull you out if need be," She glanced at it before nodding her head before tying the rope skillfully around her. She held out her hand to Jack who handed her the flashlight he held in his hand with a confused look knowing that she wouldn't need it truthfully. She smirked at the kid as she handed him her sunglasses which he quickly put on. She knew that if given the chance by the others Jack would be following her or Riddick every chance he was given, though she wasn't sure if his fascination was a good thing or not, after all she would hate to see someone with so much potential waste away their life for something that only lived in the dark.
She crouched down at the opening looking into the depths of the tunnel hoping to see some sort of movement or even a flicker of life but she found nothing but pure darkness that awaited her. With a sigh she prepared to start the journey down the dark tunnel when Fry's obnoxious voice stopped her. "You sure you want to do this?" She scowled as she rolled her eyes facing the woman over her shoulder with a glance.
"If I wasn't I wouldn't be wasting my time down here."
