Zero woke up not believing what situation he was in. Kaname, his childhood friend, was right beside him naked! Something crazy happened last night for sure. Zero's head was spinning and an upcoming headache was threatening to form. He sat up right and breathed in and out. Trying to remember what happened last night was a pain because all he could think about was that he was not in his room and that Kaname was sleeping soundly right next to him.

Zero's head fell in his hands as he exhaled. Nothing would be solved if he just sat there and plus he was cold. He got up and dressed. He didn't want to think about yesterday but he needed to get answers. In the back of his mind he knew what happened but he refused to acknowledge it, not yet at least.

He looked back at Kaname still sleeping and decided to leave a note. He left and went straight to his room. He ignored the on looking glances at him because he already knew why they were staring at him. He was in such a hurry to get out of there that he didn't bother to look in the mirror before he left. Later on he would know the consequences of doing that.

When he arrived he stripped away his clothes immediately, leaving a trail of clothes behind him as he entered the bathroom.

He stood in the shower for 10 minutes and then banged his fist against the hard bathroom wall. He let out a horrifying scream in frustration. All the memories came rushing back to him. He couldn't believe that he let his feelings get the best of him. He couldn't believe that he even had these desires for his childhood friend. His childhood friend! He pushed his hand against the wall, letting the cold water hit him. He scrubbed himself twice before getting out.

When he opened the door he was met with a pair of chocolate brown eyes. He stared down at the girl and waited for the scolding to be over.

"You...!" Yuki said unable to find the words to describe how angry she was. "Why did you miss school again? You are ruining the reputation of being a perfect!" She reprimanded.

"Put a pipe in it will you?" Zero said obviously annoyed. He plopped himself on his bed. "I'm not going again today either."

Yuki grabbed his ear and pulled him by it until he was completely off the bed.

"If I have to baby you then I will." Yuki said with arms folded in front of her chest. "You are not leaving me again Kiryu Zero! You better get ready in 10 minutes or else."

Zero was obviously stronger that Yuki but there was only one time in the past where he had seen her this mad and that was when he took her play shovel when they were young. Let's just say the consequences were ugly and 10 year old Zero was left with an injured arm.

He tsked under his breath and began to get ready for the dreadful day.

Kaname woke up from his peaceful sleep expecting Zero to be next to him but to his dismay the other side of the bed was empty and cold. He sat up and stretched. He noticed a post it note on the drawer and read it out loud.

"I'm heading out first, don't find me. -Z :p "

Kaname smiled. "How typical of him."

Zero and Yuki entered class together and luckily there were very little people actually in class. He could expect a shit load of them to arrive later on but the amount of people here was relieving. He probably wouldn't have withstood the voices and snap at them. Since there were little people Zero sat next to Yuki until the owner of the seat came in.

"Where were you yesterday?" Yuki queried.

"Around." Zero said. "It's none of your concern." He brushed off.

"Che, fine be a stick in the mud today." Yuki said. "At least tell me who you were with."

"I was alone." Yuki noticed that he was dodging all the questions and didn't want to talk about it. She also noticed how he stiffened exactly when Kaname walked into the classroom.

Kaname stared at Zero as he walked up to his seat but Zero refused to make eye contact. Yuki noticed all of this. She had eyes of a hawk, as she's always being told. She always notices the little things. This time she realized the air surrounding them, something happened last night between those two. She smiled slyly and decided to have some fun of her own.

She touched the tips of Zero's hair. "Your hair is still wet Zero! Jeez how many times do I have to tell you to use a blow dryer!" Yuki said unnecessarily loud. She wanted Kaname to hear this. She needed to confirm his and Zero's relationship.

Kaname certainly heard her. Even without his vampire hearing he could still hear this loud girl from a mile away. He also did not fail to see how she was mindlessly touching Zero's hair. He felt a bit rage boiling inside of him. Zero belonged to him. Everything. Even the strands of hair that filthy human girl was touching.

"I would if you would stop coming into my room and use it all the time!" Zero responded to her comment as he returned the same tone she gave him. That was until he felt a pair of eyes fall on him.

He turned around and immediately saw Kaname glaring this way.

"Shit." He said under his breath.

That didn't go unheard from Yuki's ears and wanted to add more fuel to the fire.

"Neh Zero you neck tie is all messed up." Yuki said as she turned to straighten it out. She glanced over to the brunettes' direction and she could see his eyes stone hard. Yuki smirked in her mind. This was way more amusing than she thought. To top off her actions she brushed the invisible dirt off of Zero's chest and smiled.

"All better." She smiled knowingly.

Kaname could not stand how comfortably that human girl was touching his possession. Maybe it was how she was being a little brat that made him get out of his seat. Or maybe it was the jealousy raging in his stomach. It made him want to rip her head off.

He was at Zero's side within seconds. He fake smiled at Yuki and then diverted his attention to Zero.

"Excuse me Yuki-chan" He said her name sickly sweet. "but class is almost starting and Zero needs to return to his seat next to me."

He didn't didn't give her a second to approve and just grabbed Zero's arm. He dragged him to their seats in the back and ignored his protests.

He decided not to yell at Kaname to avoid other people from looking at them. Instead he wrote notes to him .

Zero: what the hell is your problem?

Kaname: don't hang around that girl anymore

Zero: what, why? she's been my friend for ages, there's no way i can just leave her just because you said so

That just made him madder. 'Friends for ages'. He's the one who should be filling in that spot not her.

Kaname: friends? are you kidding me. the way she touches you so familiarly is far from being a friend

Zero paused at his note. He thought for a second, confirming if what he was thinking was right and then decided he should test it out.

Zero: are you perhaps... jealous?

Kaname froze while reading it. He was too flustered at the thought. Him. Being jealous? He was the pureblood prince for Christ's sake!

Zero noticed his flushed state and grinned.

Zero: you are aren't you :3

Kaname glanced at Zero and saw his expression all sly. He was getting a kick out of teasing him.

Throughout the lesson they didn't return notes but just sat in the comfortable silence. Zero finally felt at ease while sitting next to Kaname because for once he wasn't annoying him or trying to start something. After class Yuki left purposely early so that Zero and him would have some time alone. Thus the two boys walked down the hall together side by side. As they did the girls could not hide their flushed faces. Two hotties walking down the hall together made their noses gush out with blood. They ignored the girls and continued walking. When they got to the corner of the hall where nobody was in sight, Zero stopped.

"Hey..." He began. "I think we should forget about last night."

Kaname stopped in his footsteps and turned around to face him. "What?" His tone was harsh.

"I was disoriented and I" He went on with his explanation. "And I let my feelings get the best of me. We should just forget about it." Zero concluded. He struggled to get the words out because half of it what he was saying was not true.

"So you're saying that we should just forget about it? Forget everything?" His tone was full of accusation and Zero immediately recognized it.

"Don't make me into the bad guy Kaname." He said. "Have you forgotten about our statuses?! While you were away at that elite school I was training to become a vampire hunter! I'm a hunter Kaname and you're the pureblood prince! Can't you see why this can't happen?" He was now shouting out these strained words.

"Do you not think that I'm not aware of that? I know our statuses, I know that this is going to be hard but nevertheless I want you in my life Zero. I went through those 10 years of that hell like school just to come back and make you mine. Just to be with you Zero."

He backed up to the wall with his hands covering his face. This was too much he could handle. He just couldn't.

"Kaname you know" He was sure that he sounded like he was on the verge of tears. "You know that we can't." His words came out chocked.

"Why do you always ignore your feelings Zero? He was leaning in close to the boy's distressed body. He wanted to comfort him.

"I-I don't" He said. "I just... I just" He couldn't find the will to make up any more excuses.

Kaname's bangs fell upon his eyes as he looked down. "They why" He began. "do you ignore mine?" He could hear the hurt in his words and how painful it sounded. Kaname looked at him one last time before walking away. The look in his sad chocolate brown eyes stung Zero's heart. Momentarily he stopped breathing as he sank down to the floor with his hands buried in his head. Soon hushed sobs drifted through the vacant hallways with Zero thinking only one thing.

What the hell have I done?
