Hello Everyone! I am so sorry I haven't updated in a while. My computer was broken for a while and when I got it fixed, I was too focused on my school work to write. I hope this chapter is ok! If you want anything specific to happen, please tell me and i'll try to work it in. Thank you!
The next day was a typical Sunday: Beautiful weather, happy neighbors, and churchgoers. Aria loved Sundays because she would sit out on her porch, pull out a good book, and watch as people passed by and families would enjoy the nice day.
But today, she had to spend the day cooped up in bed. The doctor decided since she spent most of Saturday walking, she should spend some time resting her foot. Although she loved being outdoors, she didn't mind being inside as long as she had a good book.
Halfway through the day, Aria was already on her third book. She was so into it, she didn't even hear the knock on the door. Before she had a chance to realize someone had knocked, Ezra was already standing in her doorway. "I hope you didn't mind I came in," he said, "I never heard an answer, so I figured it was ok."
Aria scrambled to fix her crumply bed and hair and replied, "No, that's perfectly fine. I was just catching up on some old books."
"What are you reading?"
"The Fault in Our Stars. I wanted to reread it before the movie came out."
"Oh, I read that. I thought it was very well written. Completely unexpected ending." With that, Ezra & Aria were off, discussing books and movies and poetry. They spent half the day talking about literature, when they finally came to a pause.
"Do you want to go on a date?" Ezra asked before he had time to think. "A date... With me?" he asked again. Aria thought for a moment. Her answer was obvious, but she didn't want to seem too forward.
"Hmm, a date... With you. Sounds like fun. Where shall we go?"
"It's a surprise." With that, Ezra was out the door smiling ear to ear. He was halfway out her bedroom door when he came back & kissed her cheek and said, "See you at school."
The next day at school Aria immediately caught up with the girls to tell them the good news.
"No way!" Emily responded.
"I knew it!" Hanna added.
Aria wasn't listening anymore. She was too busy eyeing Ezra at his locker talking to Mike. She couldn't get over his perfect smile she loved to see him flash. She couldn't believe she was going on a date with the Ezra Fitz. She was so lucky.
Word must have traveled fast of their yet to have date because throughout the whole day, random people were smiling and waving at her. It must've been because of Ezra. No one usually acts like this on any other day. She didn't mind the attention whatsoever.
Seventh Block came around and Aria was the first one in there as usual while Ezra was the last. When he scooted in right before the bell he dropped a note on Aria's desk. It read, "Meet me at my car after school. –E" She looked up to see him smiling at her and she quickly smiled back and began her French work.
At the last bell of the day, she got up on her crutches and walked to the bathroom. She reapplied her lipstick and mascara and checked for food in her teeth. She took her time to get to his car so she wouldn't seem so eager. When she got there, his friends were just clearing his car. He immediately greeted her with a kiss on the cheek, "Hey beautiful."
Aria blushed and gave a cute and shy "Hey" back. He politely helped her into the car and then got into his side and started the car.
"So, where are we going?" Aria asked.
"You'll have to see for yourself once we get there. But for now.." He gestured to the blindfold. "Put this on." Aria laughed and obediently put the blindfold on.
They spent the car ride with Aria blindfolded and them jamming out to their mutual favorite band, Fall Out Boy.
When they arrived, Ezra got out and helped Aria out of the car, still blindfolded.
"Ok, so I could guide you there with your crutches and you possibly trip and break more ligaments, or.." Before he finished his sentence he had already picked Aria up in his arms wedding style. Aria seemed to fit perfectly into his chest and she could feel his muscle through his shirt. He carried her for about two minutes before he placed her back down in the grass.
"Ok, you can take off your blindfold now." Aria took off her blindfold to be revealed a nice picnic in the park. It was a typical fairytale picnic; red checkered blanket, picnic basket filled with sandwiches and fruit, and wine glasses filled with sparkling grape juice. Aria's face lit up and she was speechless.
"Ezra, this is amazing! Thank you!" she kissed him on the cheek and they sat and enjoyed their lunch in the park. Once they finished their picnic, he drove Aria home.
"Do you want to come in? Mike's been dying to hang out with you. Maybe you can watch the game with him tonight?" Aria asked.
"Sure thing. I've been meaning to catch up with him lately." They both walked in to the Montgomery house and Aria said goodnight to Ezra and Mike as they sat down to watch the football game on. After a while of yelling at the TV, it was half time. Mike asked, "So, how are things with you and Aria?"
"Your sister is great. I really like her. Thank you for being cool with everything."
"Yeah, no big deal. You seem to make her happy."
"Do you think if I asked her to the Winter Dance she would say yes?" Mike nodded and Ezra smiled not even trying to hold back his excitement. Ezra immediately began to think of creative ways of asking her to the dance.
Later that week, Ezra asked Aria to hang out at the café. They both loved going there and seemed to hang out there together more and more. This visit to the café, however, was different. Ezra had a big surprise for Aria. Aria met Ezra at his car after school, and Ezra could barely contain his excitement. They both got in and began the drive to the café. When they got there, Ezra purposely parked on the side of the shop, so she wouldn't immediately see the front. They were laughing when they walked up to the front of the store.
"Look." Ezra said gesturing to the window. The café is made up of two large windows on either side of the glass door. Usually the windows are covered with decorations appropriate to the season. This time, the windows were covered in big blue letters reading, "Aria, will you go to the Winter Dance with me? –Ezra". Aria looked up in awe at the perfectly designed windows. Only a professional could do something like this.
"Wow Ezra, this must have cost a lot of money."
"Ehh, it was worth it for such a special reason," he shrugged. "So.. will you?"
"Go to the dance with you?" she thought for about two seconds. "Of course I will." She smiled and gave him a big hug. "Thank you Ezra."
"No, thank you Aria." They went inside and sat down and ate a late lunch. When the check came Aria reached for her wallet, but Ezra stopped her.
"No don't worry about it, I've got this one."
"Wow paying for my lunch; what is this, a date?" she joked.
"I was hoping so." Ezra said seriously and smiled.
Aria smiled back and replied, "Ok then. It's a date."
After lunch, Ezra suggested them taking a walk because it was such a pretty day. But Aria said walking long distances made her underarms hurt from her crutches, so instead they walked across the street to the park where they recently had their picnic. They sat there talking until nearly 10 pm and it was time to take Aria home. He could've stayed up all night talking to her and looking into her beautiful brown eyes, but he didn't think it was appropriate to have Bryon and Ella's daughter out so late.
When they arrived at her house, he walked her to the door. "Goodnight Ezra." Aria said.
"Goodnight Aria." They both could not stop smiling. "I had an amazing day with you."
"Me too." Ezra kissed her cheek, said goodnight, and drove home.
Aria walked in and her mom asked, "How was your night honey?"
Aria replied smiling from ear to ear, "Really good."
