The look on Link's face was priceless. It reminded me of a fish trying to breath outside of the water as his mouth kept trying to form words but no sound came out. He might as well has swallowed a bee.

"W-what is...what is all this?!" Link exclaimed "Grandma...Aryll, Medli, Makar...what...!?"

"Don't tell me you actually forgot your own birthday...again" Aryll shook her head, crossing her arms over her chest.

"N-no I...I didn't...I just...I mean...I'm..." Link stuttered, trying to find to right words to say.

"You're surprised we're all here" Medli spoke up, finishing the thought for him.

"Well I can tell that the surprise part of the party is a complete success" I laughed, watching as Link could only nod his head in response to Medli's comment.

Everyone else was just as amused as I was, judging by their faces.

"Are you just going to stand there gaping like a fish or are you going to enjoy your surprise birthday celebration" I asked, pushing Link forward.

He seemed to finally snap out of it and laugh, shaking his head in disbelief.

I chuckled and went upstage as Link moved over to greet his visiting friends and family.

"Now that our guest of honor is here and thoroughly in shock" I said amused, addressing everyone "Let the celebration begin!"

I picked up the flute I had placed onstage earlier and brought it to my lips and began to play, beautiful notes filled the air as the music began to be play joined by my fellow musicians. A warm feeling grew inside my chest as I played for the first time in ages. I had always loved music and I learned to play the flute as a child from my mother, but after her death I had stopped entirely, that is up until recently when I decided that I wanted to pick up the instrument once more and see if I could recall what I learned years ago. I was surprised at how much I actually remembered when I began practicing weeks ago.

Just being able to play again was a thrill, making me wish I hadn't quit in the first place, but now, in front of an audience like this, the exhilaration was overwhelming and I was glad I followed through with this plan, not listening to the part of me that was nervous. I could feel energy coursing through me as I performed. I wonder if the others up here with me think the same thing when they play. With Mako on guitar, Senza on drums, Medli on harp, Makar on fiddle, and I on my flute, the combined sound was amazing and when it was finally time to get offstage after we played a series of songs, the applause we received made me glad I did this despite my anxiety about it earlier.

I left my flute with the other instruments on stage and went over to get a drink from the beverage table, observing as everyone socialized and enjoyed the food. I looked over at Link and smiled as I saw him laughing with some friends and enjoying himself. I guess this party is almost a complete success. There is just one thing left...

I then heard a strange clicking sound and turned my head to see a young boy, Zill, if I remember correctly, one of Rose's boys, taking my picture with a pictobox.

"One for the memories" he grinned before running off to take more.

Indeed" I smiled to myself. I was happy to see everyone having a good time.

"Hey Zel," I heard Link say as he approached me.

"Hey Birthday Boy" I grinned. "Having fun?"

"Oh yeah, I can't believe everyone from Outset and beyond is here" he exclaimed.

"Well, they're your friends, it makes sense that they would want to be here to celebrate with you" I answered matter-of-factually.

"Thanks for this Tetra" Link said sincerely as he hugged me.

"Your welcome Link" I smiled back, returning his embrace. He must really have been moved buy this as he rarely called me Tetra unless it was something serious. He really is a pretty sentimental guy.

I headed back up on stage alone this time and tapped my glass.

"Everyone, it's time for our guest of honor to open his gifts" I announced and watched as everyone headed over to the gifts table.

I went over to the table where Link's birthday presents were placed, just waiting to be picked up by the one they were meant for, watching as Link's eyes scanned the items in front of him, a slight blush colored his cheeks.

"You guys, all of you really shouldn't have went to so much trouble" he stated

"Nonsense, nothing wrong with being a bit spoiled on your birthday" his grandmother stated "Now pick one to open already."

"Okay, okay" Link chuckled and once again glanced over the gifts before picking one.

The first gift was from Komali and Medli. It was a new delivery bag.

"I figured, since your old one got torn that this could be useful on your travels when you visit other lands" Komali explained.

"Thanks, this should really come in handy" Link said appreciatively.

He opened up a few more gifts, receiving a brand new telescope from Aryll, a new outfit from his grandmother, a new Deku Leaf from Makar, on behalf of the koroks back in Forest Haven. Rose and her family got the guy a pet pig, yeah, that I wasn't as enthusiastic about, already imagining the mess the animal might cause and the annoyance it will cause my castle staff, but I couldn't say no to Rose's request when she sent a letter about it after I sent my invitation. The little oinker seemed to be well behaved though and was kind of cute.

Link was thrilled of course with his gifts so far, especially the pig which he name Charlie. The guy really loves animals, I can't count all the times he would just happily watch dolphins jumping around the water as they followed our ship back when we still sailed.

After naming the pig Link moved on to the rest of the gifts, picking up the one I recognized as mine next and began unwrapping it...

I schooled my face into a neutral expression in order to hide my nervousness, preparing to be nonchalant and blase about it if Link didn't like it.

"Oh Wow, this is amazing..." Link exclaimed. I sighed in relief, apparently my plan was a good one after all.

"You like it then?" I asked, my lips forming something between a smile and a smirk.

"Like it..I love it. It looks just like the original..." Link replied, his facial expression telling me his mind was recalling the time when he used the true Master Sword.

'I thought...well, that since it was your destiny to defeat Ganondorf, and this destiny was what allowed us to meet that you might like something like this, since the sword was proof of that destiny, it's also a symbol of how we became friends you know.." I said, feeling my cheeks grow warm as I blushed.

"Awwww Are you getting all sentimental on me now Zel" Link laughed, poking my cheek and teasing me.

"Oh Shut up, Hero Boy" I replied annoyed. Even if I was getting sentimental, I couldn't admit it.

"Thank you, though, seriously, this means a lot" Link answered, hugging me.

"Your Welcome, Now let me go" I said.

"Nope, not when your all sentimental, its cute" he laughed.

"If you don't let go I'll stab you with your gift" I retorted, suppressing feeling of being flustered that was coming over me.

"Nah, you're too touchy feely to do that to me" He grinned.

"Seriously though, if you don't let go and finish opening your gifts we'll miss out on cake" I said hoping food would make him stop hugging me.

"Alright, alright, you win" He poked my cheek again while grinning and went about opening the rest of the gifts.

I smiled, Glad to see him happy. It's not that I mind hugs, it's just, not something I typically do, that and Link's hugs always made me feel weird, giddy even, inside. I could feel my heart rate increasing as a placed on hand on my chest. Why is it that I only feel like this around Link as of late. Perhaps I'm getting a heart condition? I'll think about seeing a physician later.
