A few days later, Misty's birthday was approaching. Ash was pacing around his room in the Cerulean City Pokémon Center. "What can I get Misty for her birthday?" he asked himself.
Misty was pacing around her room at the Gym. "I wonder what Ash is going to give me for my birthday." she said.
At last, Misty's birthday arrived. Ash was at the Gym, helping Daisy with some streamers. Brock walked in. "Hi Brock! How are you?" Ash said.

Later that day, Misty was swimming in the pool. Ash walked up. "Hi Misty. Happy birthday to you." he said.

Ash helped Misty climb out of the pool and stood by her door while she showered and got ready for her party. When she came out of her room, Ash's jaw dropped at her beauty. "You're so beautiful tonight, Mist." he said.
Misty smiled and blushed. "Thanks, Ash." she said.
At the party, Ash gave Misty his gift to her. Misty opened the gift and was stunned by what was inside. "No way! A Togepi! I've been missing my baby Togepi!" she cried.
Ash smiled. "That's not just any Togepi. That's the child of your Togetic." he said.
