Previously...

"Lust! I think I'll like this one!" I smacked him up the back of the head.

"Idiot! This place is dangerous and not to be made light off!" I growled.

"Sorry Luce!" Natsu said and then his eyes perked up as he saw a cloud of smoke floating our way. It howled and screeched as it approached. I could tell Natsu was slowly being enchanted by the eerie siren's song. I smiled and pinched Natsu causing him to jump as he snapped out of his trance.

"She's here!" I laughed.

Chapter 6 - Lust and Hellena...

Second Circle... Lust!

Normal POV

"Natsu! Keep your wits about you while we are in this place!... We are now in the realm of Lust, where adulterers, purveyors of filth and other sexual deviants exist. Here they suffer an eternity on the brink of ecstasy with no relief in sight. A place where all manner of creatures exist and one of the biggest sinners is coming our way now!" Lucy said as a cloud of smoke approached us and stopped only inches from Natsu's face.

Natsu tilted his head to the side as he tried to determine what sort of entity or creature was before him. It had no form... It was nothing but a silhouette, a mere shadow of what used to be a woman. He slowly lifted his hand, as his muscles tensed and slowly he touched the smoke and immediately he dropped to his knees and curled up in a fetal position. Lucy laughed at his innocence or perhaps stupidity would be better term to describe what she had just witnessed.

She smiled and slowly knelled down and gently placed a hand on Natsu's shoulder as if to comfort her disturbed friend. She had known Natsu for some time now and the one thing that always struck her about her friend was his inability to grasp the obvious... He was dense!... No, to be fair it wasn't that he was dense, he was truly an innocent young child caught in an adult body. He looked at everyone with wonder and great joy, he saw the good in everyone around him and for him to touch such an abomination, it was too much!

"Natsu!..." I slowly turned him so we were face to face and I could see his eyes had clouded over... I guess she had more of an effect on him than Lucy had originally thought, but he miraculously snapped out of his trance.

"Luce! What the Mavis was that?" Natsu said. His body trembled as he looked at me and then back to the entity that still floated just feet above us.

"Well?" The demon Lucy inhaled and slowly exhaled as she sat at his side. Her mind reaching for the right words to explain to her innocent friend what just happened. She sighed and leaned in and nervously whispered to him, "o-orgas-sm!"

Natsu looked puzzled as he tried to understand what his friend had said, "What?" He said as he tried regain his composure.

Lucy face-palmed as the thought of having to not only explain what she said but to actually have to repeat it... That was just too much even for her! To her this place was home and she was used to it's unusual quirks, she even relished some of them and her sexual appetite was no different then her need to watch others suffer... She was after-all the daughter of darkness! It was in her nature to enjoy such things but this place was foreign to Natsu. She knew the longer he stayed here the faster he would become like her and that she never wanted to see happen to such a sweet and innocent creature such as Natsu Dragneel - the mighty dragon slayer!

Lucy stood up determined to prevent the obvious from ever occurring, her proud appearance stood toe to toe with the vapours apparition that danced on air in front of her... Her true nature slowly revealing itself as she growled at the siren before her.

"Hellena!... Let me make one thing perfectly clear this instant... IF YOU EVER ATTEMPT SOMETHING LIKE THAT AGAIN!" She growled and then a smirk crossed her face as she leaned in close to her so called friend and whispered so softly that even Natsu's keen senses could not detect. "I'll introduce you to a world of pain the likes of which you would never, ever, imagine in your worst nightmares!... Do I make myself clear!?"

The apparition slowly took the form of a young lady. Her long flowing brown locks draped across her ample bust and flowed down her back stopping at her mid-section. She wore a long flowing white dress that accentuated her voluptuous form and her dark eyes hid an evil that only Lucy and her father could truly see. Hellena grinned and nodded her understanding as her feet slowly planted themselves on the ground next to Lucy and an astonished Natsu.

"Good!... We seem to have an understanding then!" Lucy reached down and offered a supportive hand to her friend who gladly accepted it. "Hellena, this is my dear friend Natsu Dragneel!"

Hellena reached out her hand in a friendly gesture only to have it batted away by a very weary Lucy. "Hellena!... Did I not just warn you about such actions!"

"Fine!... Fine!... I get it! Geez, I was only having a little fun!" She childishly crossed her arms and huffed her disappointment.

"Natsu this is or used to be my best friend, Hellena!... Better known throughout history as Helen of Troy, the face that launched a thousand ships. A piece of trash that bought a kingdom to its knees, which led to the slaughter of an entire nation all in the name of her own vanity and greed!" Lucy laughed as an evil smirk crossed her face. She was done playing games with someone who would threaten her friend... Someone she cared so deeply for!

"Hiii..." Natsu stopped as they could see the now seething Hellena's appearance turn from the once buxom beauty that was just before them only a moment ago to an old, wrinkled, decrepitated and extremely vile creature... Yes!... Her heart was showing the true nature of her being. The true monster had reared its ugly head and even Natsu quivered at the sight before him. Lucy's friend was now in its true form, an abomination of life and nature!

"How dare you insult me like that!?" Hellena spewed her venom at Lucy and a moment later Lucy witnessed the image of Hellena shatter into thousands of pieces that upon contact with the ground slowly started to disappear into the cracks that lay at Lucy and Natsu's feet.

Natsu grinned as he waved an old black dagger in front of her. His patience was gone and he had no more interest in listening to any words that rolled of the tongue of such a vile and disgusting creature, especially if it insulted his friend - the person he cared the most for in all off creation.

"Natsu! That's..." Lucy grinned as she recognized the dagger Natsu was holding.

"This!... Ya, sorry, I borrowed it!" He grinned and placed it back into it's sheath in her boot. "Hope you didn't mind me borrowing it!"

"Mind!... No!... Actually, I thank you for shutting her up!" Lucy grinned and wrapped her arms around Natsu's neck and smiled. "Thank you for doing that... but how did you know which dagger to choose!"

"A voice in my head said to choose that one!" Natsu pointed to her left boot and smiled.

Lucy laughed at Natsu who never ceased to amaze her. She had thought of doing the same thing herself to that vile creature Hellena but she was afraid of the possible consequences... Perhaps the simple use of either the dagger of light or the dagger of darkness might be all that was required to end her quest before it had a chance to begin. She felt grateful to whomever had aided them in their journey.

"Well maybe we're not alone on this journey!" Lucy grinned as she reached out took Natsu's hand and placed it in hers. They smiled at one another and continued on in their quest to find their lost friend. "Let's go bring Lisanna home!" Lucy said as she led Natsu up the rugged rocks towards the top, where they would be able to access the bridge to the next circle.

"Ok!... Let's go!" Natsu laughed as they both finally stood a-top the large cliff that overlooked the bowels of hell.

Lucy had been carefully avoiding certain areas of hell as they presented their own unique problems and none was more disturbing than that of Minos, the beast that decided which level a soul would reside in for their eternity of damnation. I did not want Natsu to have to face such a creature or better yet, have that vile creature judge such an innocent man such as Natsu... So I bi-passed his realm and entered into the Second Level of Hell - Lust through an unknown route, but from here on out I would not be able to use such methods to aid our quest... I just hoped Natsu was up for the challenges that lay ahead.

Before us an old wooden bridge, one of our last short cuts. It stretched out for what appeared to be miles but in reality it was only a mere twenty-feet across, but it required a sacrifice to cross. The old suspension bridge was only known to upper class demons and even for them it required something of great value to be left behind. If I was able to be myself, no sacrifice would be need but this time because of the strict limitations set by my father, I had to comply with the rules put in place by him and in some small way myself.

"Luce! Do we have to cross that?" Natsu said as he kicked the ropes that held the flimsy planks in place. "This will take forever to cross!"

"Natsu!..." Lucy paused as she steadied her nerves for what she was about to request. "Natsu!... We must leave something precious to each of us in order to safely cross this bridge. If we don't leave anything precious... Then we will wander that bridge for an eternity!" I said as I led Natsu to the side of the bridge where a small, shallow well was located. I sighed as I leaned over and looked down into it. It held many different items, all precious to someone... A medallion, several rings, a couple of books, among other things and in the corner a chil... I shivered at the thought of what some sick soul left as compensation for their trip across the bridge.

I sighed as I unsnapped my whip and stared at it as it was a very precious item to me... It was a gift from my mother and it was something I treasured very much. A tear rolled down my cheek as I dangled it above the well... I didn't want to part with it, I really didn't, but there was no going back now as we had come so far. With one more glance I dropped it into the well and watched it fall to the bottom.

I watched in horror as Natsu too made his sacrifice. I covered my face as I didn't want to watch what he was doing... I knew how much that scarf meant to him but he just smiled and easily let it slip from his fingers. It drifted down and came to rest atop my whip. If there was one bright side to this sacrifice, it was that both our loved possessions were now resting together for eternity - a fitting end for such cherished items!

A moment later they both glowed a bright red colour and we suddenly heard an eerie creaking sound coming from the bridge beside us. The bridge that we were stared at earlier was now replaced with a twenty foot polished stone platform that connected this cliff with the one in the next realm.

"Natsu!... I'm so sorry you had to leave such a precious gift!" I wrapped my arms around him and buried my face in his shoulder as my tears started to fall.

"Luce! That's all right! I wasn't sure if I could do it until I saw how upset you were when you let your whip drop into that well... I knew then, that it was very special to you, so please down worry!... Okay!" Natsu said as he ran his warm fingers through my hair. I cried for a few minutes before Natsu pulled my face towards his and kissed me on the cheek... His smile warmed my heart and made the sacrifice less unbearable. "Now wipe those tears and lets go get Lisanna!" Lucy nodded as I slowly guided her along the narrow platform to the other side.

Once on the other side we both looked back and were surprised to see the platform, cliff and everything that we had seen earlier had faded away...

...We were now in the Third Circle - Gluttony!
