Tino looked around him as he and Krecoo streamed down the stone road, passing the town, flying by the last bit of civilization, and into the dark woods. Slowing down to a fast trot, Krecoo heaved and nervously looked from side to side. "Something wrong Krecoo?" Tino patted his companion on the neck to calm him down. He's come down this path many times, why is he so scared? Something must have happened. Tino sitting on his horse's back, contemplated different scenarios that his Father could have gotten into. Suddenly, without warning, Krecoo stopped in his tracks, causing the small teen to lurch forward a bit. "Woah! Krecoo! What the heck horse? Come on!" Tino kicked Krecoo's side, but did not make any progress. He looked up, noticing a fork in the road. "This is new." He continued to scan his surroundings; having trouble seeing, for it was now gradually getting dark. After a moment of searching, he saw a sign posted on a tree, stating: 'The only way may be the worst way.' "What in the name of herring fish does that mean?" Tino squinted to gaze down both paths. The one on the left had tall spruce trees looming over the dirt road, creating an eerie darkness that gave Tino chills. The path on the right had oak trees, surrounded by tall grass and flowers, and in the distance, you could even hear birds chirping. Krecoo began to turn down the path on the right, only to get a sharp pull on the reigns by his master. "If that sign is correct, we're going down that path." Tino pointed down the darker path and pulled the leather strap towards the left. Krecoo resisted at first, but realized it was of no use. He carefully began to walk down the ominous path, looking around him, and jumping at every twig that snapped, even if it was made by himself.

After a while of slow walking and calming down, Tino decided to rest, for he was extremely tired. With heavy eyes, he hoped off of Krecoo and tied him to an oak tree, letting him graze, and refuel. Finding a nice tree himself, Tino sat down to lean up against it, soon to fall under the spell of a deep sleep.

Awakening to the sound of hooves thumping against dirt, Tino jumped up just in time to see Krecoo bolting, galloping away, and his only form of transportation was gone. He turned, hearing a noise in the woods. Out of the brush emerged a wolf, mouth open, tongue lolling out, growling and spitting; creating a frightening sight. Tino's eyes become as wide as golf balls; he gulped and slowly began to back away. The wolf lifted his head and howled, sending hundreds of chills down Tino's spine. Out of the woods appeared another wolf, growling and licking his lips. Tino all but fainted from fear. The first wolf made his move, and lunged at Tino, causing him to scream a blood curdling scream. He covered his head with his arms and hands, and prepared for contact with the vicious animal. Then, just in time, a man ran out of the woods, and struck down the wolf with a huge axe, causing it to yelp, and limp into the woods. The other, backed away slowly into the brush. Tino still had his face covered, trembling with fear. "Stupid wolves. Always gettin' in people's business. Are you okay there little dude?" The man held out a hand to the small teen, and Tino gladly accepted it. "Uh…yeah, I'm fine…thanks…" Looking at this mysterious man's face, Tino still slightly shook. This man had messy blond hair, and wore a tattered red and brown trench coat, that had probably been very nice at one time. His eyes shone bravery, and hope. His smile was kind, yet told an amazing story of hardship and hurt. He held out his hand and looked Tino in the eye. "The name's Matthias, pleased to meet you."

Sorry this took like forever and a day, I have been really busy, and school is murdering me with a rusty spoon so…
