"Carlos, I really need you to take my shift," Kendall said as soon as he got into the library that morning.
Carlos looked up at him from where he was typing away at the librarian computer, his black rimmed glasses were half way slipped off of his nose, his cheeks were flushed a happy pink and he looked rather to happy that morning, Carlos wasn't a morning person.
"When and Where?" Carlos asked.
"This Saturday at seven o'clock-"Kendall began,
"I can't," said Carlos, biting his lip softly.
Kendall stared at him, "But you always want my shift on Saturdays, and I really really need you to take my shift, please Carlos?"
"Why do you need me to take it so bad?" Carlos demanded, looking interested.
Kendall bites his lip, looking down at his own keyboard. "I….I…I have a date with Logan this Saturday," he whispered.
"What? You? A Date? With Logan? Logan Mitchell?" Carlos almost shrieked, slapping Kendall's arm excitedly.
"Yeah…"
"But you've never been on a date before," Carlos squealed.
"I know that's why I need you to take my shift please Carlos! Please!" Kendall squealed, hoping about in his seat.
"I can't," Carlos said regretfully.
"Why not! Who the fuck died!"
"Nobody did I just…I just….I have a date too on Saturday, with James," He was bright pink all the way from his neck to his hair line, he looked like he wanted to drop threw the floor in shame and never return to look the blonde in the face.
"Since when have you had a date with James?" Kendall demanded.
"Well we've been dating since that night of the restaurant," Carlos said sheepishly, he was staring down at his lap and was playing with a straw line of thread that was hanging from his old Minnesota Wilds T-shirt.
"That's amazing! Why haven't you-…oh god Carlos what did you do?" Kendall demanded.
"Nothing….I just…I may have…."
"Oh my god, you fucked him didn't you?" Kendall squealed.
"Well….he didn't call it fucking, he's a gentlemen, but yeah basically." Carlos nibbled on his lip as he took the returned books out of the book shoot and started to go through them cheerfully.
"The night at the restaurant?" Kendall groaned.
"Well technically the morning after, I went back over to them to apologize about your rudeness, and I smelled his ice cream and asked him where he got it, Logan went home looking all depressed after you left so James told me he would walk me over to the ice cream place across the street," He still refused to meet Kendall's eyes. "He bought me some ice cream and we talked about Diego and then that led to his behavior and that got to talking about how I ended up with Diego, and I started saying how I hadn't been with anyone in a long time, and I started crying a little, and he put his arms around me, and we kissed…and so I went back with him to his apartment."
"You're lucky he didn't throw you away like garbage on trash day!" Kendall gasped.
"I half expected him too, but he was so sweet and romantic and he made me breakfast and we exchanged numbers and we've been dating for the last few weeks-"Carlos said, sounding happy.
"Have you slept with him since?" Kendall asked curiously.
"No, I asked him to keep his space on the first date, and he's been a perfect gentlemen, he hardly even kissed me," Carlos looked up at him slowly and smirk softly, " To be totally honest I really wanna sleep with him again, "Carlos admitted in a whisper, "He's amazing in bed,"
"I so didn't need to know that," Kendall groaned.
"I'm just sharing info!" Carlos giggled.
"You've already been on some dates, please Carlos! Do you want me to die alone?" Kendall demanded.
"Of course I don't, but this Saturday James is taking me to this really awesome restaurant in the city and you can go dancing too, were double dating with one of his friends."
"So your just gonna throw me away for some dancing and dinner?" Kendall demanded, looking hurt.
"No- Look, I'll call Jenny, she owes me a favor and I'll make her cover your shift, and you can go on your date, and I can go on mine,"
Ceddie was staying after school again for an hour so he went to the back of the school and found Logan sitting on the steps were he had told Kendall to come too, he had two cups of coffee resting next to him, his dark brown spiked ruffling slightly in the sharp breeze, his white sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and his lavender silk tie was loosened, the first three buttons undone.
"Hey," Kendall said, taking a seat next to him, Logan handed him his cup. Kendall smelled it before he drank, discovering that it was green tea actually, how did Logan know that was his favorite? He certainly hadn't gotten it for Kendall because he wanted it, he could smell Logan's coffee breath from three feet away, and it smelled good. And tea was more expensive then coffee was at the place Logan had gotten it at.
"Hey," Logan smiled. "Did you have a good day?"
"Fine," Kendall said. "Same ole' same ole'. You?"
"Besides Ceddie calling me a small dicked fucking cunt, it was like any other day," Logan said, he reached into his jacket and pulled out a small bag, he opened it and offered Kendall a croissant that was still hot, Kendall whispered his thanks and took the lid off his tea to dunk it in.
"I'm sorry, I don't know where he gets all that anger from," Kendall whispered.
"It's fine, I think he suspects us though," Logan admitted, smiling sadly.
"Why do you think that?"
"Because before he left my classroom he told me to stay the fuck away from you, his words, not mine," Logan reassured Kendall.
"I'm so sorry-"Kendall began.
"It's fine Kendall, I'm used to teenagers," Logan laughed.
"I'll have to talk to him, that's so rude," Kendall said, "I didn't teach him to act like that,"
"A but MI' Amor," Logan said in a silky accent, "Then he would be onto us even more," he gave Kendall a chaste kiss and went back to his coffee.
"So are you all set for the date with Carlos and James on Saturday?" Logan asked, as a group of students came running down the stairs next to him and almost sent his coffee flying, and his croissants falling into the dirt. "Hey! No running on the stairs! I'm not afraid to give your butts detention!" Logan said in a joking voice, the students giggled, apologized, and went running across the track and into the small trail that led into the woods in back.
"We're going on a date with Carlos and James?" Kendall asked.
"Yeah, I didn't have your number when James made the reservations so we asked Carlos to tell you," Logan said nervously.
"Carlos didn't tell me that, he just said they were going into the city with some friends on Saturday,"
"Ah, James probably forget to mention who the friends were," Logan shook his head at his friends idiocy. "Are you okay about that…double dating I mean?"
"Why wouldn't I be?" Kendall asked, surprised.
"It's just that…I wanted it to be romantic since it's our first date, but then I thought you being comfortable was more important than anything, so I thought we could go have some fun with Carlos and James," Logan sounded rather insecure, and Kendall found it absolutely adorable that he was so worried about making Kendall comfortable that he leaned forward and gave the brunet a hard kiss, it was the first time he had gone into the kiss first.
"Mm," Logan hummed. "Your lips taste like honey,"
"Chap stick."
"I like it."
"And the tea, how did you know I loved tea?" Kendall asked, running his hand over the back of Logan's neck as he kissed the elders cheek.
"Your cabinets are see threw, you have like eighty boxes of tea in there, and an entire shelf just for green tea," Logan smirked, running his lips across Kendall's neck smoothly, Kendall whimpered softly.
"How did you know they weren't…Ceddie's?" he gasped softly, as Logan ran his teeth gently over Kendall's pulse point.
"He doesn't really cross me as a tea person," Logan chuckled, flicking his tongue out around his earlobe, Kendall moaned, his nails digging into Logan's bicep.
Kendall jerked away suddenly, as stupid and embarrassing as it was, that was just a little bit too fast moving for him. He looked down at his lap and pulled at a hem that was loose from his jeans.
"Sorry," he whispered, not able to look at Logan.
"Sweetheart, it's okay, I'm proud of you actually, I didn't think you'd let me go that far," Logan said, rubbing a hand up and down Kendall's back softly.
"You were testing me?"
"Guilty as charged," Logan smirked.
"Well I guess it's okay, now you know your boundaries, I just wish they weren't so big," Kendall whispered the last part, wishing that Logan would just ignore it and let them move on with their lives.
"Kendall, stop it. I don't want you pressuring yourself into anything. I love just being with you like this," Logan whispered, taking Kendall's hand in his.
The blond looked up at him at this, eyes filled with water. "Really?" he wondered.
Logan smiled and kissed him gently, "Really," he whispered against Kendall's lips before pulling away.
"Ceddie should be getting out soon," Logan kissed Kendall on his forehead and got up, then extended his hand for the blonde to take. Kendall blushed, and took it.
"By the way, you know he's not staying after to actually do work right?" Logan said, as he began to walk Kendall to the parking lot.
"What?"
"Yeah he goes into the gym or the library with Diego and their friends Curt, Sam, Peter and Wanker and hangs out,"
"He's in big trouble when I get my….did you just say Wanker?" Kendall asked, stifling his laughter, Logan stared at him for a moment before getting it and giggling as well,
"I never realized that before, your funny," Logan said. "Wanker," they stifled their giggles together as they passed by another group of students.
"But seriously he's in big trouble when he gets home, but how do I punish him without telling me you told me?"
"Just tell him I saw him tongue effing Natalie Coy behind the bleachers while his friend watched secretly from on top of the bleachers," Logan grinned, opening the door to Kendall's brand new dark gray sleek car for him, Kendall didn't get in though.
"Who's Natalie Coy?" Kendall demanded, tearfully.
"Well everyone calls her Lie. I don't know, Ceddie's been pretty soft on her for a while now," Logan smiled.
"And how long is a while?" Kendall asked, looking like he was going to cry.
"I don't…since the beginning of last year maybe?"
"Last year? Last year? It's October of this year! And I haven't heard about any girls!" Kendall said, eyes prickling.
"What's the big deal?" Logan asked.
"What's the big deal?" Kendall demanded. "The big deal is my sons interested in girls and he doesn't know anything about that and he didn't even tell me about her, he's not getting that fucking Xbox Live bullshit crap worthless bitch shit thing back til he's fucking forty five years old! Maybe then he'll have received enough allowance money to get it back because apparently he's never going to get a job or do anything with his life and he's going to be sleeping in my house forever! Well not my kid, sir oh no not mine! He's in for a rude awakening when I get his ass home!"
"Don't you think that's a little overboard, I mean it's just a girl, sweetheart?"
"Just a girl?" Kendall shrieked, "You don't understand, you don't have any kids!"
"My students are like my kids," Logan said fairly,
"They don't count! Real kids! Who you sweated and bleed over all their lives and fought tooth and nail with to get to the dentist so they don't get made fun of when their older and cooked hours for and kissed every scratch and wiped away every tear, and read them to sleep even if you had homework to do and got up in the middle of the night for them no matter how tired you were, do you know what that's like?" Kendall asked, crying now. "And on top of all that your just a kid yourself and trying to figure out your own life while taking care of your kid and doing things that make you miserable just because it'll make them happy and smiling so they wouldn't know anything was wrong, and getting only three hours of sleep because you had to study and take care of him when he woke up in the night, do you know what's that's like?! Meanwhile you're trying to keep the deep dark secret of how he ended up in this world to yourself while trying to love him like you know he deserves when all you see when you look at him is the man who raped you and stripped you of your innocent, do you know what that's like? And now he's all grown up and he doesn't give a fuck about you anymore and all he cares about is stupid girls now, never appreciating what you've done for him and the sacrifices that you made in your own life just for him, do you know what that's like?"
"No, I don't know what that's like," Logan whispered after Kendall had taken several deep breathes to calm himself down, "And it's terrible that you know what that's like,"
Kendall bit his lip, "I'm sorry I yelled at you Logie," he whispered.
"Sweetheart, do I look mad?" Logan asked, Kendall shook his head. "You're under a lot of stress, almost seventeen years' worth of it, and I'm glad your letting some of that out on me, it means that you trust me, and besides what's a good relationship without a little bit a of yelling?" Logan winked at him.
Kendall gave him a watery smile.
"So I'm picking you up at six thirty?" Logan asked.
"Yup…I just have to figure out how to get Ceddie out of the house," Kendall sighed.
"Let him go see Natalie,"
"Logan!"
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding, why don't you let him and Diego spend the night at one of his friend's house, that way there gone all night," Logan volunteered, leaning against Kendall's new car.
"That sounds good; I can say it's a little treat for being good, even though he's been a very very bad boy!"
Logan chuckled, and they heard the school door open in the distance, Kendall played with the buttons on Logan's shirt as he waited for Ceddie to come over, he really wanted to tick his son off, but he couldn't yell at him until after Saturday or the boy would get suspicious, when he felt Ceddie about a foot behind him, he unbuttoned the next three buttons of Logan's tucked in shirt, and ran a lazy finger along the sliver of reveled chest and stomach,
"You're so toned," Kendall said a sultry voice, taking a step closer, "do you work out?"
Logan, who had just picked up on his blondes game, dropped his eyelids and said in a the same suggestive voice, "Five times a week, I go to the gym, do boxing a lot,"
"I guessed, your biceps are just so great," he placed a hand on Logan's bicep and squeezed, "the perfect size, I don't like them to big, they just make those little white shirts of your pop," Kendall fought a grin as Logan chuckled in a deep husky voice.
"You should come to the gym with me sometime," Logan suggested in a flirty tone, refusing to let himself look at Ceddie's horrified expression. Kendall took another step closer, trying not to laugh, as he placed a hand on Logan's shoulder and ran it down his pecks.
"Yeah, we can…work out together,"
"It would be hard," Logan breathed, oh god please say it, it would make this perfect.
"I like it hard," Kendall breathed. Holy shit he's wonderful.
Logan pretended to just see Ceddie standing there, and moved away from Kendall. "Oh hello Cedric,"
Kendall let out a false little gasp in surprise in spanned around, pretending to be so surprise he fell into Logan's still revealed chest.
"Ceddie, sweetie," Kendall laughed in a fake nervous way. "How was your day?"
All Ceddie could do was stare at his father, at a total loss for words, "Fine," he barely got out.
"That's great, mine was pretty amazing too," he gave Logan a quick look and pretended as if he didn't notice Ceddie seeing it. "Why don't you get in the car honey, we'll go out for dinner tonight, how does that sound?"
"Fine," was all Ceddie could say again.
"Wonderful!" Kendall beamed, then waited for Ceddie to get into the car, when he did he turned back to Logan and they shared a smirk, knowing that Ceddie was staring at them from inside the car, Logan lightly wrapped his arms around Kendall and they engaged in a hug that took too long with too many hands running over to many things. When it was over, Kendall strutted into the car and didn't look back, he didn't look at Ceddie until he was out of the parking lot, his son was staring at his lap, his face snow white and looking like he had seen a ghost.
"Dad?" Ceddie said suddenly.
"Yes, baby?"
"Are you sleeping with Mr., Mitchell?" Cedric said in a very calm voice, not looking at him still.
Kendall looked at him in shook, "Of course I'm not, what gave you that idea?" he asked innocently.
"Nothing," Ceddie said quickly.
"We were just kidding around CED, god." And he turned to look at the red light in front of him.
