Sorry it took me so long to get this chapter out, i have been SUPER busy. i dont really like this chapter too much, i kinda had writers block and this is what came out of it. so enjoy it

Edward's scent was even stronger within the confined spaces of the car. I don't know how I made it all the way to the store without dying. It was so intoxicating that it made it hard for me to concentrate on the road. Not like I was in any real danger. The traffic level in Forks was basically a zero.

When I finally reached the market I parked and practically jumped out of the car. The fresh air outside helped clear my head. I didn't want to think about Edward as I shopped. It was my time alone.

It was a small market, but I was in a small town. It looked well stocked though. I grabbed a basket and walked over to the right.

I was in the last aisle when the tall, blonde guy who seemed to be in every aisle I had been in, walked up to me. He was wearing a black polo shirt with the name of the store on it. I guess there wasn't much work to do in this store, otherwise he shouldn't have been following me.

"Hello, my name is Mike Newton," he said with great enthusiasm.

I stared at his face now that I could really see him. He had pretty blue eyes and a nice smile.

"Hi, I'm Bella," I replied back to him, a small smile playing on my lips.

"It's nice to meet you. I do not mean to be rude but are you new in town?"

"Yes, I just got here last night."

A big smile spread across his face. "So I'm guessing you haven't really met anyone else in town?"

I saw where this was going to go. He had been following me around the whole store and all I had to do was look in his eyes to see the want. Yes, he was a handsome man, but I was not in town for a relationship.

"No, I haven't met anyone but you and the rest of the Cullen family." As soon as the word Cullen slipped out of my mouth I saw his smile fall and his face darken.

"THE Cullen's? Carlisle, Esme, Edward, Emmet, and Jasper?" He looked like he was going to kill someone. Did he know something about them that he shouldn't know?

"Yes those Cullen's, along with Rosalie and Alice. They are also adopted. Do you not like them? You look like you could tear them apart." I was scared for them, I didn't know what the people knew in this town.

"No, I don't like them. They are weird. I would like it if you came and stayed with me." He looked smug as he said that.

Disgust ran across my face. Did he really think that highly of himself? He probably was the cutest guy in this town, so he probably did think he was the shit. I wasn't like the other girls he knew.

"Uh, no thank you. I'm pretty comfortable staying with them. I don't need your hospitality at all." I looked at him with hard eyes, trying to get my point across.

He reached out for me but I smacked his hand away.

"Don't even try to touch me. I can hurt you more than you would ever be able to hurt me!" Anger burned in my eyes. He looked scared and I was happy for it. He could not just pick me up like that.

I grabbed my stuff and went to get in line. His eyes followed me as I walked around him. He didn't seem so scared anymore, more like he wanted me even more. It was a sick look. It kind of scared me inside. I would have to watch my back around him from now on.

I paid for my groceries, and walked out to Edward's car. I waited a few seconds outside the door to take a few deep breaths of fresh air. As soon as I sat down and closed the door his smell over whelmed me again. I made it back to the house in 20 minutes. I wanted to get there as fast as I could, I was still worried about Mike. I didn't notice anyone following me home.

When I pulled up in front of the house Alice and Jacob rushed out to meet me.

"Oh thank you so much Bella! I was so hungry!" Jacob was reaching into any open bag he could find and grabbing random things. I tried to grab as much back as I could but he was aleady off running into the house.

"Bella, I see you took Edward's car," Alice said with a coy smile playing on her lips. I knew where she was going with this but I wasn't going ot let her get there.

"Yes, I took it. As you know, I don't have a car so he offered me his. Not that big of a deal." I looked at Alice, my eyes locked with hers for a second before I looked down. I couldn't stand the fact that she thought Edward and I were to be together. How could I stop the future?

"Oh well. Maybe I will buy you a car since we may be here for some time."

"Some time? Alice, how long do you plan on staying here?" I didn't know that we would be here more than a month at the most. It would be hard enough for me trying to resist Edward everyday.

"Oh, I thought you would have liked staying here. You never really had a chance growing up after your parents were killed to live in a house again. I just want you to be happy." She looked so desperate to see me happy too. Her eyes pleaded with me to say yes and allow us to stay here. I couldn't say no to that face, and se was right. Ever since my parents had died we never stayed in the same place. I did miss having a home.

"Okay Alice. We can stay, but please understand that if it gets hard for me then I will have to leave, with or without you." She nodded her head in agreement and helped me carry the rest of the groceries into the house.

"The fridge is cold right?" I asked as we made our way into the kitchen.

"Yeah, it's always on. Incase we have people over the sound of a fridge running in the background makes it seem more real." I nodded my head in understanding.

We put the groceries away and talked. No one interupted us, it was nice.

"So," I began to ask, " why couldn't I find you this morning?" A sly smile spread across Alice's face.

"Oh, well Jasper and I were just catching up."

"Mmhmm. Just catching up. Which means you were having a good time?" She burst out in happy giggles.

"Bella, I'm just so happy to be back in my loves arms! Thank you so much for deciding to stay longer. It really means so much to me." Her eyes were filling with tears that would never fall, and I realized that this was where she belonged. When I did leave I wouldn't be able to tear her away from this happy life. I smiled big for her on the outside, but deep down I was hurting.

We continued to chat about her night, and what we would like to do today, when Rosalie walked down the stairs closely trailed by Emmet. Alice and I exchanged a glance and apparently the same thought was running through our minds.

"Goodmorning Bella, Alice." Rosalie was all smiles. She must have noticed the look Alice and I shared for she nodded her head slightly to us.

"Goodmorning Rose." Alice said. "Uh Emmet, I believe Jasper was looking for you. He is outside somewhere."

"Oh thanks Alice." He smiled at us and gave Rose a sweet glance before he walked outside.

"Alright Rose," Alice began, "spill everything!"

kinda a cliffy, but you can guess what happened. I will bring more drama into the next chapter, get things rolling and all.
