And here is the end! Hope you'll enjoy the final chapter of this short story for my A/B/O world!
...
Pounding on the door, a fist hitting the wood over and over again. It felt like Kaito was inside Gou's mind, trying to break out of it by running up against the walls nonstop. Her head hurt. This really was not how things were supposed to go. Gou had never broken up with anyone before, but she knew this was not normal. Finding someone else before you even split up with the other. But it was the right thing to do. It would be her second start. And this time she was going to do everything right.
Unfortunately she still had something else to take care of. That someone was now shouting profanities up at the house, his tone as deep as it could get. It caused Gou to shiver, her body still ready to respond to it. That demanding tone calling her all sorts of things while wanting her to come. And she would've, if Chigusa hadn't been holding her hand so tightly. It was nerve-wracking how much affect an Alpha really had on her.
Chigusa's mom wanted to call the police, and Gou had asked her not to. But the longer they sat in the house, waiting on some kind of miracle, Gou started to contemplate that idea more and more.
There was a reason why Gou didn't want to get the cops involved. It wouldn't solve anything. They'd put Kaito away for a night, let him sleep off his anger, and release him the next day. Gou had heard the stories before. She would not be the next Omega who had fallen to an Alpha's rage. It would need to be solved tonight, and all Gou could hope for was Rin's rescue plan come into play soon.
But as the door shook in its hinges again, Gou really didn't think it would be on time. She was about to open her mouth and tell Chigusa's mother to call the police when she felt Chigusa perk up beside her.
"Do you hear that?" she whispered, her eyes flickering to the floor as she listened intently. They had remained up in Chigusa's room, finding it safest to stay away from the front door as much as possible.
Gou started listening better as well. The whole room went dead quiet. The pounding at the door had stopped, but they could still hear Kaito yelling. There was just something different about it. As if he wasn't yelling at the building anymore, but at someone else.
Slowly Chigusa rose from the bed and tiptoed to her bedroom door. Opening it a crack she listened for more sounds, and then deemed it safe. When had the girl gotten so brave? Standing at the edge of the stairs she looked down, listening once more. "I think something is happening outside," she whispered, and then proceeded to go down.
"Chigusa get back here!" Her mother angrily whispered, and then when her daughter didn't listen, she followed suit.
It left Gou sitting on the bed alone, fear creeping up her throat as she thought of what was happening downstairs. How could they just go down there? What if Kaito saw them moving through the windows and decided he could jump through one of them?
"Gou!" the call of her name made her jump. It was the sweet voice of her friend, but it still scared her. "There is someone outside. I think you know him."
Confusion now replaced fear a little bit. Gou dared to get up from the bed and stand at the edge of the stairs, looking down at her friend, or perhaps now girlfriend. "Who is it?" she whispered still, not wanting to let Kaito know she was really inside.
A shrug of the shoulder was Chigusa's response as she peeked through the side window by the front door. "Not sure," she muttered. "I think he may be one of your brother's friends. Seems like the swimming type at least." Green eyes flickered up again, reassurance in her eyes as she motioned for Gou to come downstairs.
The first step down the stairs was the hardest. The more sounds she heard from outside, the faster she went. There was a second voice, and Gou knew that voice. She just didn't remember from where. That was until she finally joined the two women by the front door and peeked outside.
Kaito had his back turned to them, and had even left the threshold, instead standing right where Gou had been only a few hours before. A few feet away, at the end of the path that led up to Chigusa's house, stood a familiar redheaded swimmer. Gou didn't know him too well, but at some point he had meant a great deal to Rin, and it seemed they had remained friends. His stance was casual, arms crossed, smile playing around his lips, as he observed Kaito.
"That's Seijuro," Gou murmured, standing on her toes as she tried to see more of the two Alphas. "I thought he lived in Tokyo."
A hand wrapped around her wrist as Chigusa reached for her, but green eyes remained focused on what was happening outside. They couldn't really hear the conversation. Only the shouts of Kaito who still refused to listen it seemed. A tug on her hand made Gou focus on Chigusa again, seeing the girl squint her eyes at the window. "I don't think he's alone."
Right as she said it two other people appeared around the bushes, pushing their way passed Seijuro, and then also passed Kaito. How Seijuro could just let them walk by, with the amount of anger Kaito was showing, was beyond Gou. The amount of trust he must have. Though the taser the girl held in her hand did help. It seemed she even threatened Kaito with it as she passed, aiming it right at his ribs. Gou didn't know the girl, but did know the other one. Seijuro's other lover, whom still came as a surprise. But Gou had always liked Nitori, and it was really nice of them to come help them out.
Gou hadn't been paying enough attention. Before she really realised it Chigusa had reached for the doorknob and opened the door. "Hana-chan, should we…" The words died on her lips as she saw Kaito turn around and face her.
His bleach blond hair was a mess, sticking out in ways the Alpha normally wouldn't want to be seen in. His blue eyes stood wild, anger flashing in its deep depths. Gou was waiting on him to open his mouth, spat things at her she rather never hear again. But he remained quiet. Stared at her with this intense gaze that sucked the air out of her lungs, almost forced her on her knees. It was scary how much control he still had, without even saying a word.
And then the girl stepped between Kaito's line of sight, sticking out the taser as a mean of defence. "I dare you to take one step closer, pretty boy," the girl mocked, and then turned the taser on, letting the electricity flash. Gou really wished she remembered her name. This girl knew how to handle herself. Her stance was confident, her long legs complimented by heels. Her brown hair was lazily braided to the side.
"Gou," Nitori said as a type of greeting, bowing down before her, and then turning to Chigusa and her mother and bow for them as well. "Sorry to disturb your evening. Rin called and said you were in trouble," he explained.
A bit overwhelmed Gou didn't reply right away, her ruby eyes moving from Nitori to Seijuro, seeing the Alpha's lips move, but she didn't hear what he was saying. It seemed that Kaito was listening though. "Y-yeah, you can say that," Gou in the end replied. "I'm sorry you had to come all the way out here, but thank you for helping us out."
Nitori put on a sweet smile, reassuring her instantly. "We were lucky we were in the neighbourhood. We're hear to visit Momo-kun. Otherwise we would've been in Tokyo as well," he started, and then his smile faltered a little as he turned around to look at his lovers. "But we don't fully know what is going on. Rin didn't explain everything. Mostly just said you needed to be saved from some guy. He used a lot more curse words though."
"Yeah, maybe fucking enlighten us, Gou," Kaito spat, apparently having heard what Nitori had said. It made Gou swallow her words and cower away, fear still coiling in her stomach. Would these three really be able to hold Kaito of? And for how long?
It was Chigusa who then stepped up again, holding Gou's hand as she turned to Nitori to explain. "Well, let's say Gou realised the guy was not the one she really loved, and decided she wanted to be with me. But the guy in question doesn't know he's dumped yet." A very embarrassing way to explain it, but it was also very true.
"Right, thank you," Nitori said to Chigusa, bowing down to her again. Sometimes he really was a little bit too polite. He then turned around again, focusing on his lovers. "So Mei was right," Nitori called out to them.
"Ah really?" Seijuro pitched in, for the first time looking over at the group by the house. "I was sure I had it figured out."
Mei scoffed right after, shaking her head at her Alpha. "When have you ever figured things out? You honestly have no idea what goes on in people's minds."
"He's got you figured out," Nitori mused, a fond smile on his lips as he looked over at the girl. There was something in his eyes that made Gou hold her breath. This moment felt so intimate, shared between lovers. Something that shouldn't have witnesses, but here they were, watching it happen.
And even when Mei turned to look at Nitori and then look at Seijuro, a blush on her cheeks that made every denial disappear. "Only because I let him," she replied, but didn't seem less embarrassed.
That was when Gou realised what she wanted, truly wanted. This was it. Those easy dynamics, because you knew each other that well. Every movement made, just for the other. To prove that you loved them. Seijuro who didn't deem it necessary to protect Mei and Nitori, trusting they can protect themselves. Mei who instead wanted to protect Nitori in any way she could. And Nitori with his soft-spoken voice, making sure they were all honest with each other, but also remained kind. It seemed so unbalanced and yet so perfect. But most of all it seemed easy.
Before Gou could get to that point though, she would need to face her fears. She had hidden away behind Kaito for a long time, and now was hiding away behind the help of her brother, and even Chigusa was stepping up for her, just so Gou didn't have to. But she should. It was time to be brave and stand up for yourself.
Stepping around Mei Gou brought herself closer to Kaito, making sure she did it before her courage disappeared. "Kaito," she announced, the Alpha turning to face her right away. He still had this dark stare, his Alpha stare, and she could still feel its effects, but she would not respond. Not anymore. "I'm breaking up with you," she said resolute.
Blue eyes glanced down at her, narrowing as the words settled in. Then he eyed Chigusa, standing on the threshold as she sent him her own dark look. "You are breaking up with me, for her?"
The tone he used didn't sit well with Gou. Straightening her back and lifting her chin Gou made herself as tall as she could, and when an arm leaned heavy on her shoulder, she felt the confidence of Mei as well. It helped, a lot. The girl had her back, her taser still posed at Kaito's ribs.
"Yes," Gou said. "I simply love her more than you."
An empty chuckle left his lips, wiping his chin in a frustrated gesture. Perhaps even to prevent himself from hitting Gou. "Right," he muttered, though was far from done. "And you think a little Omega can give you the same thing an Alpha can. You need an Alpha," he spat. "Just like she does. Every Omega needs an Alpha. You'll come crawling back to me."
It was then that Seijuro stepped in, putting a hand on Kaito's shoulder and practically dragging him away from the house. "Well, until she crawls back to you, I think it's best if you leave," he shushed, and then gave him a push in the right direction.
"Whatever," Kaito called back. "I got girls lined up for me anyway. Better change your mind quick, Gou! Before you know it, you're replaced!" It should've stung, it really should've, but at this point Gou didn't care. Just waved him off, glad the guy actually left. It didn't seem as difficult as Gou had first anticipated, but she had no idea what Seijuro had been saying to him before. What he had said to make Kaito think differently.
The high her courage had brought was sinking fast and Gou found herself feeling cold. Wrapping her arms around her frame she watched the corner Kaito had disappeared around, scared he'd be back in a flash. "So what now," she whispered, shivering as the cold creeped in.
Seijuro glanced down at her, eyebrows both raised as he shot her a confused look. "Well, if you think your brother didn't jump in the car right after we called, you are very wrong. From what I understand he's dragging you and your moms to Tokyo to celebrate a birthday there or something. And I am guessing your little girlfriend gets to come too."
"You are such an idiot!" Mei gave Seijuro a shove, making the Alpha stumble. They ended up bickering, Seijuro not understanding what he did wrong, and Mei not wanting to explain it all to him. It was Nitori who then stepped in again and gave Gou the explanation she needed.
"Rin and Makoto are on their way here, and from what I gathered they already contacted your mom, so they should be ready to go when Rin gets here. Chigusa is of course invited and I'm sure if her mom wants to come, that they will make room." Chigusa's mother declined kindly, mentioning that her husband would be back the next day. That would be enough protection for her.
Protection, it was an odd thought. This little moment had indeed ended quite smoothly, but that didn't mean it was over. As an Alpha Kaito still had a connection to Gou, and would seek her out until he had gotten over it. If he knew where she was, there would be more moments like these. Moments where he would demand to see Gou, take her home, make her his. Chances were she would relent in the end, unable to resist the Alpha tone. And they knew that, they all knew. It was why Rin was getting them, and taking them to Tokyo. Create as much distance between them, and Kaito would not be able to sniff her out.
And that was indeed how it all ended. Gou and Chigusa stayed with her brother and his lovers for a while, enjoying their own honeymoon phase as they were on a little vacation. At least it seemed that way. Kaito was far from her mind as the days progressed. Later Gou would hear it took Kaito only a week to get over her, the next girl indeed already in line. There were enough Omegas who fell for the trick, hell Gou had even done so, and to be fair there were Omegas who did enjoy the position.
But Gou was happy she was no longer in that position. Was no longer tied to Kaito in any way. She got her second chance, and even though the road had been bumpy, she wouldn't wish it any other way.
...
It was probably quite the abrupt end, but I didn't feel like adding more to it... So this will have to do XD At least Gou got her happy end! And I was not too happy with the plot anyway. A bit too cliche... I hope you enjoyed nonetheless!
