Chapter 6 DEAD MONEY
-Matt sits silently next to Saeko-
Saeko: are you sure everything is alright?
Matt: yes… I'm really sure that everything is alright… -looks at her-
Rei: I do not want to stay on this bus…
Chuck: why?
Rei: it's because of him! -points at Shido-
Matt: hey, kid. I wouldn't blame you on that. He does look like both a pedophile and an accident waiting to happen. But we need to make our way to the bridge so we can at least get you guys out of here and let me deal with my enemy.
Rei: but I am not staying on this bus with him!
Shido: come now, Miyamoto. I won't do anything. I promise.
Matt: keep your mouth shut you shit. Look Rei, if you don't want to be on the same bus as Shido, then I will allow you to leave. Hell, I'll come with you if you want.
Rei: -gets out of the bus with no hesitation-
Takashi: Rei, wait!
Matt: goddammit I didn't mean it literally!
Rei: I won't stay on the bus with him! -starts to walk towards the tunnel-
Takashi: come on; let's get back on the bus.
Matt: come on, man. Get back on the… -he hears something- hey, wait a goddamn… -looks towards the direction of the noise, a bus is speeding down the road- oh fuck! Guys, get out of the way!
Takashi: what the… -looks and sees the bus, the bus hits an abandoned car and flips over- Rei, lookout! -he pushes her inside of the tunnel, the bus is on it's side at the entrance of the tunnel-
Matt: shit. -he gets out of the bus- hey guys! Are you alright!?
Takashi: yeah. We're fine.
Matt: hey, listen to me kid. You need to meet us near the bridge tomorrow! You need to be quick as well!
Takashi: alright!
Matt: and kid, stay safe and be careful!
Saeko: Matt, you need to get away from the bus now!
Matt: I know, I know! -gets away from the flipped bus and gets inside of the shuttle bus- alright Shizuka, let's get moving and quickly towards the bridge.
Shizuka: o-ok… what about Takashi and Rei?
Matt: they will be just fine. Let's just worry about getting out of here, okay?
Shizuka: alright… -backs up and turns around, driving towards the bridges-
Matt: -sits back down with Saeko- damn everything is getting intense… first we have the zombies, then we got the Phenotrans, and finally we have Juggernaut to worry about… I can already tell that trying to survive out here is going to be pretty interesting…
Saeko: Phenotrans… you mean the guys that make Zombrex?
Matt: yeah. The very same guys that make that damned drug. But something tells me that this worldwide pandemic is not an accident. -he looks out the window. Meanwhile, Takashi and Rei are riding a motorcycle through the blood-soaked streets of Tokonosu City-
Rei: oh my god…
Takashi: it's a really sad sight… -looks around-
-they stop near a police car whose sirens are still on. They reach the car to see that it was crushed by a truck-
Rei: hold on. Wait here.
Takashi: Rei, wait! Be careful!
Rei: don't worry. Nothing bad is going to happen -she goes towards the police car and checks what is inside of the car; she manages to find a .357 police revolver, several bullets and a box of Zombrex. She then walks towards Takashi- hey Takashi, here. -she hands the revolver to him-
Takashi: thanks.
Rei: do you know how to use it?
Takashi: I've seen it on TV so it should be easy… -holds the gun- whoa this is heavier than expected…
Juggernaut: -from behind the truck- that's because it is a REAL GUN. -she comes out from behind the truck-
Rei: wait, who are you!? -she grabs the gun from Takashi's hand and points it at her-
Juggernaut: just another passerby -walks towards them- your gun doesn't have any bullets chambered so even if you pulled the trigger, nothing would happen.
Takashi: I'm assuming you are Juggernaut, right?
Juggernaut: you got that right. I'm assuming that Matt told you, right?
Takashi: yeah…
Juggernaut: that explains that. Well right now, I'm not necessarily in the mood to get into a fight… after all, I am saving all of my energy to defeat Matt and Chuck tomorrow… but I can help you get out of this area safely.
Takashi: wait, how can we trust you?
Juggernaut: I just explained it to you; I am not in the mood to fight you two. I just want to fight Matt and Chuck. I can insure your safety by overseeing you guys through the rooftops.
Takashi: I… I guess we have no choice huh?
Rei: so you won't attack us, but you will fight Matt and Chuck tomorrow? Is that the reason why he is in a rush to get to the bridge?
Juggernaut: exactly. He knows the consequences if he doesn't make it towards the evacuation points. By the way, I would get your bike refilled. It looks like it is running on low.
Takashi: oh… okay. Thanks.
Juggernaut: don't mention it -walks towards the side of a building and begins to climb up the building using the windows-
Rei: are you sure we can trust her?
Takashi: we have to.
-they reach a gas station to refill the gas of the motorcycle, Juggernaut is seen on the rooftop watching over them-
Juggernaut: so let's see how this goes -looks down, she sees Takashi enter the building to get money for the gas pump- well, looks like he's going to get money, but he better get the money quick or the zombies will maul him and his girlfriend alive… oh what's this? -she sees a man walking towards Rei- I wonder if I should jump down to help… let's see what the boy does.
Rei: get off of me!
Takashi: Rei, what's wrong!?
Thug: hahaha! What a nice young girl we have here -puts his knife against her neck- now give me the bike and fill it with fuel and maybe I'll let your girlfriend go!
Rei: Takashi! Help!
Takashi: alright… I will… if you let go of Rei. -he starts to put the gas inside of the bike- will you let go of her now?
Thug: shut up and fill it up!
Juggernaut: I think I should jump down; threaten the bastard a bit. -she climbs down the building and starts to make her way towards the gas station, the bike almost filled-
Takashi: let go of her already. I gave you the bike, now give me my friend
Thug: until I get my ass out of here!
Juggernaut: you better listen to the boy -comes towards the gas station-
Thug: why should I listen… -he sees her, she's holding her M249 SAW- what the!?
Juggernaut: you better honor the deal, otherwise I will send you flying.
Thug: but if you fire that here and hit the gas pumps, the whole place will be destroyed!
Juggernaut: that is none of my concerns, because I know that at least one of us will make it out of here alive.
-Takashi is already in front of the thug, pointing the gun towards him-
Thug: oh shit! L-look, I will give you the girl already! Okay!?
Juggernaut: yeah… hand her over nice and slowly. I will be more than happy to blow your head off if you don't.
-the Thug hands Rei over, Juggernaut gets closer towards the three-
Juggernaut: that wasn't so hard, now was it? You two should get out of here…
Rei: wait, why!? I am going to kill him for what he has done!
Takashi: Juggernaut is right. We do need to get out of here. -some of the zombies heard the shouting-
Rei: okay. -gets on the back seat of the bike with Takashi- Juggernaut, are you going to come with?
Juggernaut: don't worry about me. The zombies won't be able to get through the first layer of my armor, let alone the ballistic vest under this.
Takashi: o-okay. Thanks for helping, and good luck.
Juggernaut: don't worry about it. I don't believe in luck -holds up her M249- by the way, if you see any psychos out there, steer clear from them. That will be the one and only piece of advice I will give you.
Takashi: alright. Thanks! -he drives off with Rei-
Thug: hey! Please don't leave me here!
Juggernaut: you weren't going to honor your deal with the boy and the girl. Therefore, you must suffer for your failure to comply with the deal. -leaves the Thug behind and begins to make her way towards the evacuation point-
Thug: wait, don't leave me here! Gahhhh! -he gets attacked by the zombies and gets mauled-
Juggernaut: what a shame, what a shame. You could have lived just a little bit longer only if you stayed with your deal. -she continues to walk. Meanwhile, Matt is asleep on Saeko's shoulder-
Chuck: well, guess he's a bit tired from the fight at the store.
Saeko: yeah. -she pats his back- at least he gets to have a little bit of rest. I really do feel sorry for him though…
Chuck: why is that?
Saeko: he's suffering from the trauma of the Willamette Outbreak.
Chuck: man… poor kid -he takes off his jacket and puts it over Matt- he must have went through a lot from back at Willamette…
Saeko: -nods, Saya and Kohta looks at Matt-
Kohta: I heard a little bit of the Willamette outbreak… Matt did mention it from time to time and even told Saeko about his experience… a little.
Chuck: -looks at Matt and pats him- well we better hurry to the bridge -the night turns to day, traffic is already jamming towards the bridge; Juggernaut is standing in front of one of the bridges-
Juggernaut: they should be here soon…
Saya: are you sure you and Chuck won't need any weapons?
Matt: I told you already that I have the guys' MG36 that I jacked from that Phenotran.
Kohta: just be careful out there you guys. If you are going to verse against this person… and she's heavily armored…
Chuck: that will make it harder for her to fall. -they both leave the bus-
Matt: I'm nervous about this fight we have to go through.
Chuck: don't worry. We can handle this. Trust me.
Matt: I trust you alright. It's just that… you don't know what she may throw at us.
Chuck: well, we will find out soon enough, so don't worry. -they reach the spot, Juggernaut is standing on top of a car-
Juggernaut: so you guys did come. I thought you two would pussy out and that we will have to send a fighting force to take you out -giggles and jumps down from the car-
Matt: I would rather have myself killed than my friends killed
Juggernaut: just like me -giggles- but, I am doing this for the sake of myself and the sake of the Director. And remember the deal; if I win, you two get eliminated and if you two win, you can do whatever you want with me.
Matt: and it sounds like a fair deal to me -he drops his weapon along with Chuck, Juggernaut does the same thing-
Juggernaut: just prepare yourself, because you won't know if you will live to have a family -she charges towards Matt and Chuck at a fast pace, attacking Matt first-

Sorry for the long hiatus in the series. Currently, I am trying to gather more ideas to put into the story (of course, not too silly). I will be posting a new chapter every Friday from here on out.
