I watched as Inuyasha stood to his feet and brushed off his pants from being in the grass. He looked at me and the look in his eyes alerted me to the fact that I was in for it. "Hey kid," Oh boy. "We need to have a talk."

My limbs began to tremble and all I could do was gulp and follow him without question. I watched as my sis sat in the kitchen and was distracted by her two friends who were currently arguing over lechery. It wasn't too long before I felt myself being dragged away by the angry hanyou in front of me. He pulled me into what appeared to be a guest bedroom and locked the door.

"So spill it," he looked over at me and crossed his arms.

"Spill what?" I gulped and fiddled with my hands trying my best to avoid eye contact. It wasn't working because I found him kneeling in front of me eyes piercing and fangs barred.

"Don't bullshit me kid! You know what I mean! What's goin on with you and Kagome?" his glare made me weak at the knees, and not in a good way if you know what I mean, and it took all the manliness I had within me not to piss my pants.

"I-I don't know...what you're talking...a-about," my voice trembled as his glare hardened. Kagome would kill me, well Inuyasha would probably kill me first, but then she would go to the afterlife and kill me again if I told him anything about our father.

"You mean Kagome won't let you talk?" My eyes widened and he nodded in approval. "Ok, let me put it to you this way...you either tell me what's going on or I'll give you the worst wedgie you've ever had in your entire life. What do you say?" he smirked as he cracked and flexed his fingers.

"Ok! Ok! I'll talk!" I splayed my hands out in front of me halting Inuyasha's advance. He arched an eyebrow and crossed his arms as if waiting for me to talk. "It had been going on ever since I was born and since Mom left..." I gazed off into the distance as images of my dad beating and torturing Kagome flashed in my mind's eye.

Inuyasha's interest had been piqued and he urged me to continue. "What had?"

"Kagome..." I could feel the tears burn in the corners of my eyes but I pressed on. "Kagome, would never let him touch me. She swore she'd rue the day if she saw a single scratch or bruise on my body...so she took the beatings instead,"

Inuyasha's eyes widened in shock and in rage. "Beatings? Who in the hell beat her!?"

"Our father," a solemn voice emanated from the doorway. We both practically jumped out of our skins as we turned to face Kagome who stood at the open doorway face downcast and brooding. Miroku and Sango were both standing behind the rave haired girl and were just as shocked as Inuyasha.

I could see Inuyasha lower his ears in guilt as he spoke up. "Kagome, I'm sorry I didn't mean to—"

"Don't interrupt." Kagome's voice was like ice and I could tell her mind was in a dark place. "You wanted to know so badly, right? We'll let me tell you." She walked into the room followed by Miroku and Sango and stood only inches away from where Inuyasha and I stood.

"My father beat me. Every day, every morning, every night...sometimes with his hands sometimes with knives...you never knew. It all depended on his mood I guess? It took all the strength that I had left to protect Souta from his wrath. I didn't care if that meant I would end up with more bruises or more cuts or even broken bones...as long as he was safe I didn't care. I would always wonder why he was like this or why he even did it, and it all became clear to me when I was old enough to understand. I looked just like my mother. I didn't blame her for leaving, actually I applaud her for doing so, but what I do blame her for is for leaving us behind to suffer the consequences. To my father I was just a reflection of my mother and his failed marriage that had to be stomped out. On the anniversary of my mother's departure my father...he...he took a knife and tried to end my life."

Kagome pulled the hem of her shirt up revealing the thick white scars that ran along her abdomen and wrapped all the way around her back. As she pulled her hem back into place she pulled down her collar revealing her just as scared chest. "Doctor said I was lucky...said I should have died to the the loss of blood, but I had a reason to survive." Kagome's misty eyes landed on mine and I could feel my own tears spill down my cheeks. Kagome then turned to Sango whose tears flowed freely and trembled from shock. "That is why I have problems with physical contact. It isn't because I don't like you or anything of the sort, to be honest I crave physical contact...comfort, but my body won't let me. My body...my heart...its to far gone to accept it!" With those last words uttered my sister finally gave into her grief as harsh sobs wracked her body.

"Oh Kagome..." Sango whispered as she embraced my sister and cried along with her. I looked around the room through my watery haze and noticed that Miroku too had tears in his eyes, but Inuyasha's eyes shone bright with pain and guilt.

As the two girls parted from their embrace Inuyasha made his move. Strolling over towards my sister he lifted the hem of her shirt and wetted his fingers with his saliva. "Inu-Inuyasha! What are you doing?" Kagome hissed as she tried to pull her shirt down but froze as she realized what he was doing. "Inuyasha...they're scars. You can't heal them." She looked into his amber eyes tears still streaking down her face.

He traced his wet fingers delicately across the white lines on her abdomen and whispered. "I know." He leaned his head on her shoulder and only then did he start to cry. Shocked and grateful by the sudden outburst of emotion Kagome wrapped her arms around the trembling hanyou's back. The two were then joined by the rest of us as we all came together for a healing hug that we desperately all needed.
