"Katara!" Sokka called entering the kitchen. Katara placed a bowl of cereal down in front of Aang and turned to her brother.

"What is it, Sokka?"

"I'm going to meet Suki for brunch. Will you and Aang be okay?" Sokka asked grabbing the keys to his car.

"Ya, we'll be fine," Katara said watching the little boy devour his 'Honey Nut Cheerio's'.

"Great, see ya later," Sokka said and walked out the door.

"Well, Aang, we have the whole house to ourselves. What do you want to do?" Katara asked sitting across from him in another dining chair.

"Can we play 'Monopoly'?" Aang asked slurping up his milk.

"Sure," Katara said standing up. "I'll get the board ready."

Half way through the game, Katara was broke and Aang was on a roll. He had gotten all the free parking money three turns in a row! They were having such a fun time until the doorbell rang. Katara got up to answer it.

"Hello," she said to the stranger. It was an old man with a long moustache. With him, he had a big furry sheepdog, probably taller than Aang was. "Can I help you?"

"Maybe, I'm not sure if I have the right address. Can you tell me if Aang is here?"

"Umm..." Katara stammered. "Who are you?"

"Oh, forgive me, my name is Gyotso."

Katara's eyes widened and she stepped back from the door. This was the man who told Aang to run away. Just then Aang popped out from around the corner.

"Who is it, Katara?" he asked. The dog barked. Aang's eyes widened too. "Ka-katara?"

"You're Katara?" Gyotso asked. Katara turned and ran to pick Aang up. She ran as fast as she could through the house and out into the back yard.

"Wait!" she heard the man yell.

Katara fiddled with the back gate lock with one hand and held Aang tight with the other. She heard the dog barking and the back screen door slide open. She broke the lock and ran out onto the sidewalk. She made a sharp left and ran across the road. Aang clung to her tightly having no idea what was going on.

After some quick turns, she could no longer hear her pursuers and stopped her run. She put Aang down and gripped the fence to catch her breath. They were back near the high school. Aang slowly approached her and hugged her around the waist.

"Katara, what's going on?" he asked.

"I don't know, Aang, but I promise I won't let them hurt you," she said quietly hugging him back. She started walking again holding him tightly by the hand. Katara reached into her jeans pocket and took out her cell phone. She quickly dialed Sokka's number.

"Hello," Sokka said answering his cell.

"Sokka, it's me," Katara said from the other end.

"Katara? What's up? Are you okay?" he asked concerned.

"I'm fine for now."

"What happened? Why do you sound out of breath?"

"A man came to our house claiming his name was Gyotso." Katara could hear her brother swear on the other end.

"Where are you? Is Aang okay?"

"Aang's fine, just a little shaken up," Katara squeezed his hand as they walked through the basketball court by the high school's soccer field. "We're at the high school now but I'm going to bring Aang to Molly's." 'Molly's' was the name of the bakery across the road from the school. All the kids went there during lunch and Katara and Sokka knew the owner well.

"Okay, I'm going to come and pick you up there. Stay safe, Katara," Sokka said and hung up.

"What's wrong?" Suki asked him.

"I need to pick Katara and Aang up from 'Molly's'," Sokka told her.

"Okay," Suki said.

"Come on, I'll explain everything to you on the way there," Sokka said and pulled her out the door.

'Ding Ding' the bell rang as Katara opened the bakery door. She led Aang by the hand to the front where a middle aged woman was wrapping a loaf of bread for her customer.

"Hey, Katara," she said, "Need anything?"

"Ya, a carton of chocolate milk for Aang, please Molly," Katara said motioning to Aang.

"Sure thing," Molly said and disappeared for a second. She came back with the chocolate milk and Katara payed.

"New babysitting job?" the owner asked.

"Not quite, Molly. He's... my cousin... ah... just visiting for the summer."

"Oh, he's a cutie," Molly said. "You're brother with you?"

"Oh, ya, he should be here to pick us up soon."

"What's the matter, Katara, you seem on edge today. Boy's chasing you?" Molly joked.

"Ah, you could say that," Katara said uneasily. She sat Aang down at a table near the back of the room. She watched Aang drink his chocolate milk and ignored the 'ding ding' the bell made when the door opened. A man approached the counter.

"Could I have a coffee and a bag of rolls, please?" he asked.

Katara sat up straight; she recognized that voice.

"No, please," she whispered and turned her head to the man. It was Ozai (aka: Zuko's dad). She stared at him. Molly came back with his stuff and he turned to leave, but he caught Katara's gaze. Katara quickly turned away in hope that he wouldn't recognize her, but it was too late. He had seen her and he had seen Aang. Katara heard him dial his cell phone. How awkward was it to see your principal during summer holidays? Just then she heard a car horn out the window. She smiled.

"Come on, Aang," she said, "Our ride's here!" Aang followed her out the door and to Sokka's car. Suki smiled at him through the passenger window as he crawled into the back seat beside Katara. Katara sighed as she sat in the back seat of the car.

"I am so glad you came, Sokka," she said to her brother. "Do you know who I saw in there? Ozai."

"Wow, scary," Sokka mused as he turned around the corner. "Do you want to go back to the house? Wait, did you call dad, or the police?"

"Oh, no, I didn't," Katara said. Sokka looked at her through the review mirror.

"Then we should go do that," Sokka said turning down their street. He looked through the review mirror again. He sped up and passed their house.

"Ah, Sokka, you realize you just passed our house right?" Katara said.

"There's someone following us."

Katara turned to look out the back window. Behind them was a white truck with no licence plate.

"Hang on, I'm going to try and lose him." Sokka pulled the car right and Katara slide into Aang. She held onto him around the shoulders as Sokka pulled a u-turn and turned around heading back the way they came. He started speeding up and was now going 40 clicks over the speed limit.

"Sokka, do you want me to phone to police?" Suki asked from the passenger side.

"Yea, hurry."

Suddenly a shot rang out. Katara turned behind her; the man in the truck had a gun.

Dang, and right when things were starting to get better! Who could be in the truck. Could it be the man claiming to be Gyotso? or someone worse...
