"Neville, can you go take this to what's left of the owlery and send this letter to 's. We need some more help and healers." Madam Pomfrey asked me as I was giving this small Gryffindor boy a spoonful of medicine.
"Alright, I'll get on that straight away." I replied as I took the letter from her and made my way out of Great Hall and all of the sad, angry and dazed faces.
Right outside the Great Hall their was a huge, beautiful graffiti picture that read "DA Recruiting". This one was my favorite that Luna, Ginny, Seamus and I did, we did it in the dead of the night right before Easter weekend, before Luna was taken. It was the final one we were able to put up, but it was worth it.
It was the middle of the night and the four of us meet up outside the Gryffindor tower and left to go down to the main foyer outside the Great Hall. We had Colin Creevey go out earlier to keep an eye out for the Carrows and get him to get Peeves distract them. We left carrying our buckets of paint and Ginny put a spell on the cans to make them not as loud so not as many people could hear us.
We got down to where we planned to write our message on the wall and began to paint. I wasn't really good at it, but Luna helped me by outlining the picture and I just coloured it in. We finished it in about 15 minutes and we took a step back to take a good look at it.
"I think this should grab everyone's attention." Luna pointed out, she then pulled out her wand and put a permanent sticking charm on it. She turned toward me and smiled, I didn't know what to say so I took my paint brush that was covered in a bright yellow and wiped a bit of it on her nose.
"Hey!" She said and took her paint brush that had bright blue paint on it and wiped it on my check. Ginny then took hers with Red paint and got Seamus and soon enough we were having a paint fight in the middle of the night in the open hallway of Hogwarts.
My paint brush got knocked out of my hand and I turned to go and get it. When I turned around there was standing there, with her bright big yellow eyes staring right though me.
"Guys." I said in a loud worried voice. "I think we're going to have some company." Everyone stopped, and dropped the paint and took out their wands.
"Let's get out of here." Seamus advised.
We all nodded in agreement and starting running for the staircase and about half way up the stairs, we all stopped and saw him at the same time, Snape.
"Get back down." I told everyone quietly and we ran back down the stairs.
"This way." Ginny whispered and ran through a door behind a statue I had never seen before; dating Harry must have had some perks of knowing all of the secret passageways in this school.
We ran though the dark passageway, the only light being the small light at the end of our wands. It came to an end and I stepped on Ginny's foot on accident. Ginny opened the door and on the other side standing there was Colin Creevey.
"Oh god Colin you startled me." Burst out Ginny.
"Sorry, but the Carrows are coming down this way, we ned to move, now." He told us.
"Well then, run!" Seamus yelled at us. We scampered down the hall and we could hear the Carrows footsteps trailing behind us.
"Whoever's down there better stop running or we'll have you hung up in the dungeons for a month." Alecto cried out at us.
We needed somewhere to hide, I thought to myself hard. Before I really realized what I was wishing a door appeared right in front of us, not one I have seen before, but I knew where it leaded us too.
"Through here!" I called out to everyone and we rushed into the room of requirement. As soon as we were all packed into it, the door disappeared behind us and knew we were safe, for now.
"Thank god we found this room again, we would have been dead." Seamus panted.
I paced around the room and took it all in. "You know we could really start DA up again and base it out of here again, but instead of leaving, why don't e all move in here? It's a whole lot safer than living in our houses, separated." I told everyone.
"You know Neville that could really work." Ginny said to me, "We could move all of the people on our side into here, even the people from other houses, especially Slytherin. God knows what they would do to someone over there if they found out they were on Harry's side.
"Guys," Seamus said with a great huge yawn, "That all sounds great, but can we please wait until the morning, It's almost 4 am and we still have class tomorrow."
"I'm with Seamus," Luna stated "I'm going to find myself something to sleep on, goodnight everybody." She got up from where she was sitting and came over and gave me a peck on the check, "Goodnight Neville." Well, all I can say is, when I got curled up to fall asleep, I had no problem doing so.
It was all such a rush, the Carrows and Snape always thought they were one step in front of us and that they had finally stopped us, but they were wrong. Little did they realize how close all of the house became because of their hate towards the three of them. The DA was stronger than ever, even when Ginny and Luna were gone.
We were always fighting, it was like a min war between the students and the Carrows. All of us had hope when it seemed everyone had given up, even some of the Hogwarts teachers; We were fighting strong, until the very end.
I couldn't wait to tell Mum and Dad about what happened here tonight, they would be so proud of me. It's weird to think they went through the same thing not that long ago. It's crazy to imagine what our family would be like if no of this would have happened. I would have grown up with a Dad to teach me about spells and how to play quidditch and a mom to teach me more about the pants that I love to learn about; maybe I could have had some brothers and sisters.
It's weird to think without this war, not only my life could have been like this, but so could Harry's. We had the same terrible thing happen to us, hopefully if life goes on the way it is I will be able to have my parents back and someday, in the very far future, Harry win too.
I pushed open the door to the owlery and it was weird to see that nothing had really changed about this tower, other than the fact there was a huge lot less birds here that usual. It might be because the owlery was far enough from the battle to have been hit. I picked out the strongest looking school owl, gave it the letter and it flew away to Diagon Alley.
I hoped down the stairs and made my way all the way down to the courtyard. Seeing all of these depressing people around made me realize something, my feelings for Luna. If this was to show me anything, it would be life is too short to not live it to the fullest.
