CHAPTER SIX
"You know, Isaac flipped his shit when he woke up and you were gone."
Magda ignored him and continued her attack on the punching bag in front of her. She had been at it for hours now, in sweatpants and a large shirt, her knuckles bleeding red, but she continued.
"You could have at least left a note," Derek added.
Magda increased her attack until the punching bag flew off, broken, spilling sand on the ground. Magda sighed.
"And written what? 'Couldn't sleep long after being sexually assaulted, going to go release my delayed aggression on an innocent punching bag. Don't worry, I swear I'm not insane'?" Magda asked.
"Point taken," Derek said.
"How'd you know I'd be here?" Magda asked as she drank from her water bottle, wiping her bloody knuckles on a towel.
"You're a werewolf," Derek said simply. "Last night you were in shock, it'd only be sooner or later that your anger and aggression needed to be let out. You done yet?"
"I can still feel it all building inside me," Magda said quietly. "The anger."
"At that dickbag?"
"At myself," she said, a tear falling down her face. "I'm a werewolf, Derek. He was a pathetic little horny teenage boy. I could have killed in him a second. At the very least I could have defended myself. But instead I just let it happen. What's the use of being a werewolf with supernatural strength if I can't even defend myself with it?"
"We all have our ghosts and demons from our pasts," Derek said. He moved as if he wanted to comfort her, but he was scared he might set her off again. He moved towards her slowly. "You're not alone anymore. You have me, you have Cora, you have Isaac. Lydia and Stiles were really worried about you last night too. Things are different here, little pup."
Magda bit her lip and wiped away her tears. Surprising them both, she wrapped her arms around Derek's torso. Derek gingerly hugged her back.
"I thought you were afraid of me," Derek confessed when she pulled away. "Of all guys."
"Afraid of a big softie like you?" Magda smiled.
"C'mon," Derek said. "Let's go home."
When Derek and Magda returned to the loft, Isaac looked up at her quickly, but said nothing. Cora was in the kitchen area, finishing up breakfast.
"Perfect timing," Cora said as she slid some bacon onto a plate. "Breakfast is ready."
They sat at the table and ate in silence. Magda could feel Isaac stealing glances at her, but she didn't know what to say to him, so she ignored him.
"I didn't get the chance to tell you last night," Magda said, finally breaking her silence, looking to Isaac. "But I enjoyed the dance with you. Thank you for taking me."
Isaac was confused by her casual tone, but neither Derek nor Cora seemed surprised by it.
"Yeah, it was no problem," Isaac said. "I had fun too." She smiled at him and went back to eating her breakfast. Isaac mentally shook his head. Just when he thought he was starting to understand girls…
The following Monday started off like any normal Monday for Magda. Derek dropped off Magda, Cora, and Isaac at school, and Isaac split up with them to meet up with Scott while Magda and Cora hung out at their lockers before homeroom.
It wasn't until after second period that Magda started thinking something was odd.
Cora and Magda had History and English together for first and second period, but for third period, Magda had calculus while Cora had economics. As soon as she stepped out of her second period class, Lydia was there waiting for her.
They made idle chit chat until they reached her calc class, to which then Lydia smiled brightly before rushing away to her own class.
At first Magda thought that she was just being nice, as they had bonded before the dance. But then after calc, Stiles was waiting outside her classroom for her.
"Hey," he said casually, falling in step with her while she walked to her French class.
"Hey, Stiles," Magda said apprehensively, curious as to why he was walking with her.
"Hey, I just wanted to say I'm sorry, about the other night," Stiles said, scratching the back of his head. "I didn't mean to freak you out."
"Don't worry about it, Stiles," Magda smiled. "I shouldn't have been afraid of you. After all, you were one of my knights in shining armor. Isaac told me how you helped."
"Yeah, well, what can I say," Stiles said unabashedly. "When there's a damsel in distress, you gotta do what you gotta do."
"Not that I'm complaining, but is there any reason you're walking with me to my next class? What class do you have next?"
"Oh, I've just got econ with Coach," Stiles said nonchalantly.
"Stiles, you know that's on the other side of the school, right?"
"Is it? Ah, well, you know, gotta get some exercise in, being best friends with a werewolf and all," Stiles rambled. Magda just looked at him, suspecting there were further reasons for his presence. "Oh, well, here we are, this is your class isn't it? I'll see you at lunch!"
And with that, Stiles sprinted down the hallway.
Magda had a nagging suspicion in the back of her mind as she robotically repeated French vocabulary after her teacher.
The moment she stepped out of the classroom, her suspicions were confirmed.
"You," she said, narrowing her eyes at Isaac.
"Well hello to you too, sunshine," Isaac drawled as they made their way to the cafeteria together for lunch.
"You have something to do with the fact that I haven't been alone all day today, don't you?" Magda asked him.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Isaac said as he waited in line.
"So it's just coincidence that I've been escorted to each class by someone of your pack," Magda said. "Despite the fact that I've had very minimal interaction with Stiles and Lydia and that it took them out of the way for their own classes?"
"Well look at you, making friends left and right," Isaac teased, ignoring the question.
"I appreciate your intentions, Isaac," she told him. "But I'm not a broken china doll. I don't need protecting."
"Maybe you don't," Isaac conceded as they grabbed their trays of food. "But maybe I just need to know that you are protected. For my own peace of mind." They arrived at Scott's table. "Do you wanna sit with us today?"
Magda smiled at Stiles and Lydia, but shook her head. "I'm just gonna sit with Cora. I'll see you later, or whoever's turn it is to escort me to my next class."
After lunch, it was Isaac on duty to walk Magda to class, to which she only teased at lightly. Until she realized that Isaac followed her into her physics class.
"Isaac, what are you doing?" Magda asked him as he took the seat next to her. "You're not in this class."
Isaac shrugged. "I suck at biology."
"This is physics," Magda pointed out.
"Maybe that's why my grades are slipping," Isaac deadpanned. "I'll just stay for the extra lesson. I have a free period anyway." Magda rolled her eyes, but as soon as she turned to face the front of the class, she realized why exactly Isaac was there.
Dickbag himself had just entered the room. Magda had never even noticed they had a class together.
Magda's initial reaction was to cower in fear, but the wolf side of her forced her to maintain eye contact with him, not backing down. She could practically hear Isaac resisting a snarl as he took a seat two rows in front of her on the other side of the room. She noticed with a little satisfaction that he had a black eye and that his nose was in some sort of cast.
"Heel, Isaac," Magda said, trying to lighten the mood. Isaac's breathing returned to normal as he looked at her, a trace of worry in his eyes. She reached out her hand and squeezed his.
"I told you," she said. "I'm fine."
"I believe you," Isaac said with a small smile. "But I'm staying."
"Suit yourself," she said, pulling out her notebook. "I hate this class anyway."
The next morning, Magda got up early to go for a run through the woods. Although she had told Isaac that she was fine after the assault, she still had the lingering determination to stay at tiptop shape; to make sure she would never be put in a compromising position again.
She had only been running for fifteen minutes when Aiden and Ethan appeared, flanking her on either side.
"Please do not tell me that Isaac sent you guys, too," Magda said, maintain her pace.
"No, we're here on our own," Ethan answered. Magda tensed. She had had little interaction with either of the twins, and had no idea why they would approach her if not under Isaac's orders.
"We wanted to talk to you," Aiden added.
"You could've waited until school, seem a little less like stalkers," she commented.
"Where Lahey is always around?" Aiden asked with a scoff. "We needed to get you alone."
"You're not helping your creepiness factor here," she told them.
"We know you must have heard a lot about us," Ethan said. "But that's in the past. We're omegas now. Again, really."
"Just like you," Aiden said.
Magda remained silent, but relaxed, thinking about what she knew of the twins, and what they were saying now.
"We figured if anyone would understand us, would at least give us a chance, it would be you," Ethan told her.
Magda paused as the reached the river. She knelt down, drinking from her cupped hands and washing her face briefly before standing back up and looking at the two in front of her.
"What do you two want from me?"
"We want your help," Ethan said. "We've been trying to get Scott and his pack to accept us since before you arrived, but we've made nowhere as near as much progress as you have."
"I haven't made much progress myself," Magda said. "I've barely said two words to Scott since that first day."
"But you got the Hales to accept you. Isaac," Aiden pointed out.
"Maybe that's why you've failed," Magda said. "I didn't try to get them to accept me. I was just me."
"Yeah, but you didn't try to kill them," Ethan said forlornly. "Multiple times."
"Maybe you just need to be patient," she said, sensing how genuine the twins were. "You've got a past they need to forgive, before they can let you in. Just be yourselves, the way you are now. The new you. Show them that you've changed."
"Easier said than done," Aiden retorted.
"You have changed though, right?" Magda asked. They shrugged, then nodded. "Then baby steps. Don't try too hard. Just be… teenage boys."
Magda started running again, and they followed.
"We're trying," Ethan said. "I thought maybe befriending Danny, and now dating him, would help, but it hasn't seemed to make an impact." Magda shot him a look. "I do care about him though, don't worry."
"I tried getting in with Lydia," Aiden added. "She's a freaky smart girl, totally cool, but she doesn't trust me in the slightest."
"Why don't you guys have lunch with me today?" Magda offered, surprising the twins.
"Really? You're inviting us to eat with you today?" Ethan asked.
"You realize that could jeopardize your chances with Scott," Aiden asked.
Magda shrugged. "What can I say, you boys have made an impression on me," she said with a small smile. "And us omegas have to stick together, right?"
The boys didn't know what to say, dumbfounded by the sudden kindness from the girl they had never spoken to before.
"Just accept it before I change my mind," she laughed. "See you guys at lunch!" she called before she sprinted off back to the loft.
When Magda arrived back at the loft, Derek was just finishing cooking breakfast.
"There you are, little pup," Derek said as he finished frying the eggs. "Better get showered and ready before you're late for school."
"I'll be quick," Magda said as she took off her running shoes. "Breakfast smells delicious, Der."
Isaac was putting his books in his bookbag when he saw her, and he cocked his head to the side.
"You smell like the twins," Isaac said, moving towards her. He cupped her face, looking for injuries. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Magda said, shrugging him off. "They just joined me on my run today."
"Be careful around them," Isaac warned as she went to get ready for a shower. "I don't trust them."
Isaac bristled as he watched Ethan and Aiden join Cora and Magda at lunch.
"You alright, man?" Scott asked him. Isaac motioned to Magda's table.
"Why do you think they're with her?" he asked Scott. "They joined her on her run this morning too."
"I dunno," Scott said. "You know her better than I do."
Isaac spent the rest of lunch watching them out of the corner of his eye. He watched as they talked as if they were good friends. He watched as she laughed at something Ethan said, rolled her eyes good-naturedly at Aiden. He had expected Cora to be guarded, but after a while, Magda's good mood was infectious and he saw Cora even smile at Ethan.
Isaac was snapped out of his surveillance as Alison asked him a question, and he tried to spend the rest of lunch ignoring the other group.
"Thanks for inviting us to sit with you," Aiden said as he walked with Magda to her next class.
"Of course," Magda said, "It was nice to see that you two aren't just the psychopathic, homicidal twin alphas your reputation paints you as. You even got Cora to smile, and that's a biggie." Aiden laughed.
"You just need to relax more," Magda continued. "What do you like to do for fun?"
"I ride my motorcycle," Aiden shrugged. Magda shot him a look. "What? It's fun. When I have someone, I do enjoy making out." Aiden winked at Magda, who just laughed.
"You should find another fun hobby," Magda told him.
"Oh yeah?" Aiden asked. "And what do you like to do for fun?"
"Train," she answered simply. Aiden gave her a look, very similar to the look she had just give him. "What? I genuinely enjoy training. I run, I spar, I lift… it relaxes me."
"You are such a hypocrite," Aiden said. They had reached her classroom, but they stood outside it to finish their conversation. "That is the lamest fun hobby a werewolf could have."
"Better than riding your motorcycle," Magda teased.
"How about this?" Aiden proposed. "How about this weekend, you and me go do something fun?"
"Are you asking me out on a date, Aiden?" Magda smiled. Even though she had heard so many terrible things about the things he and his brother had done, she had actually found she liked the twins, once they opened up.
"Maybe I am," Aiden smirked.
"I don't know how the others are going to feel about that," Magda said. "I was just sexually assaulted last weekend."
"I heard about that," Aiden admitted. "I hope Lahey kicked his ass."
"He did," she confirmed.
"Okay, no date, then," Aiden conceded.
"But if you want," Magda continued. "You can join me when I train sometime. I'll show you how fun it really can be."
Aiden smiled. "Only if I get the chance to give you a ride on my motorcycle. Then you might not judge my funness."
"Sounds good," Magda smiled. She looked at the clock. "You better get to class, Aiden."
"I'll see you around, Magda."
And here is another chapter of Omega! Please let me know what you think. I originally hadn't planned on making the twins bigger characters in this story, but ever since the season 3 finale, Aiden's been on my mind, so I wanted to include him somehow. I like to think that he's a good guy, once given the chance, and Magda feels the same! Let me know in a review what you think of the twins getting friendly with Magda, and how Isaac is going to take it.
Again, I do not own anything Teen Wolf related. I only own my original character Magda.
