They walked briskly towards command. The squad was on rest break and were called in for an urgent matter. Ethan managed to reach the door first and he held the door for his companions. Once inside the room, all 5 soldiers saluted to the higher official "34th Infantry reporting." said Brock formally. The red, spiked haired male turned in their direction, returning the salute, relieving them. Lance, Champion turned commander, passed a file folder with a few papers in it.

"Something has come up. Our allies in Hoenn have gathered intel on an Kanto op under the codename 'Project Guardian.' As we feared, Kanto has decided to go on the offensive again against the Alola region in order to complete the op." he explained. Brock flipped the covers to read the details of the Project.

"What are your orders?" Brock requested. Lance looked at the group of 5 with an intense seriousness in his eyes. "Our forces are to intercept the invading army from reaching Alolan shores. You are in charge of securing an area known as the Ruin of Conflict which is what the Kanto land forces are targeting. Do I make myself clear?"

"Understood, Commander!" the 5 exclaimed in unison. "Alright. You'll deploy in 30. Ready up." Lance ordered.

The same hat she wore years ago she wears today. The hat full of memories of adventure, danger ,and friendship. Emerald eyes stared into the horizon from her house in the outskirts, reminiscent of her past. 'I wonder if she's still out there.' she thought, remembering the trainer she met in her childhood. The trainer that motivated her to be strong. "Lillie. Come here please." came a voice from inside. "I'm coming." she replied. Inside, in a wheelchair, was the former spitting image of beauty. Her blonde hair still flowing and her emerald eyes, the eyes Lillie inherited, still full of life. Lusamine, the president of the Aether Corporation, looked out her window, into the afternoon. She turned her head at the sound of the door.

"You called Mother?" Lillie asked. "Can you please get me my medicine?" Lusamine asked. Lusamine was still recovering from an incident in the Aether Paradise 13 years ago. Lillie hurried to the kitchen to grab the medication her mother required.

"Thank you." Lusamine said with gratefulness. At the moment, the boats struck shore, each carrying 12 soldiers. The soldiers ran to the coast as the Alolan beach-goers began to run, screaming. Kanto has began its offensive.\

"Landing was successful" reported a grunt at Kanto. Giovanni gave a wicked grin. "Soon Project Guardian will be completed. The conquering of this world is inevitable! Continue the siege!" he ordered.

Back in Alola, Lillie became aware of the screaming outside. "I'll be back Mother." Lillie told Lusamine. She looked outside the window to see soldiers she didn't recognize, taking Alolans prisoner. "What's going on?" Lillie whispered in fear. Pounding came from the door. She realized she was trembling, terrified. Afraid of what the soldiers would to her, to her mother.

The door swung open. Lillie screamed in terror. There was no way out of where she was. "Come here girl." said one of the soldiers. She couldn't do anything. Fear held her firmly in place. The soldier stomped towards her. "I told you to come here!" He grabbed Lillie's arm when a three thuds came from behind him. "What the-" he turned around only to be silenced by another unknown soldier. Lillie's fear still had a hold of her. "Are you okay?" asked the soldier. Lillie nodded rapidly. "Alright, get on out of here. It's too dangerous for you to be here." The soldier turned to leave when he turned around suddenly. "Lillie?" asked the soldier, somewhat bewildered. "Huh?" Lilie responded. "How do you know my name?"

The soldier removed his helmet, revealing messy, black hair and brown eyes. "What do you mean how?' he asked. "Ash!" Lillie yelled, in tears. "It's nice to see you too." Ash responded. "Sorry, I have to go. Get somewhere safe!" he warned. He ran out again to continue in the battle.

Lillie was astonished. She didn't think Ash would appear again, especially in such a fashion. Despite that, she grabbed Lusamine's wheel chair and decided to leave as Ash had instructed. "I'm sorry, Mother. We'll have to leave before anything else happens." Lusamine nodded and stood up from the wheelchair. Surprises kept stacking up for Lillie. "Oh. I forgot to tell you. My legs became strong enough to walk on, long ago." Lusamine said with a smile. Lillie didn't care. They needed to go.

-Iki Town, Alola Region.

The squad hid in the bushes. The Kantonian soldiers, were setting up an outpost near the entrance to the Ruins of Conflict. "So how do we take them out?" asked Ethan. "You have your silencer don't you?" responded Richie. "We stay hidden and we each take them out one by one , giving the all clear." "Good idea. Everyone heard Richie. Get moving." ordered Brock.

They moved as silently as possible to surround the Kantonian soldiers. Each one took their positions in a hexagonal shape, remaining hidden in the bushes. "All right on my shot." instructed Brock. A tense moment and down goes one enemy, followed by the other soldiers shot down by Ash, Ethan, Gary, and Richie. "This is First Lieutenant Brock. We've reached the Ruins." He looked up at the squad he was leading. "Let's go get this over with. Remember, stay together." he said.

"Fueling complete. No anomalies in the vehicle. Inspecting Weapons." The pilot was ready to fight. Alola was meant to be neutral. However, the invasion made it unacceptable to avoid the war. "Plane is fragged. Airway clear." said the person below. "Wings locked. Thrusters set." The pilot moved to the runway awaiting the signal. The guide held the flag in the air. "Launching in 3… 2… 1…" The pilot activated the thrusters. The fighter jet accelerated the down the runway. The pilot pulled the steer upawards. "Takeoff!"

He was ready. He was brave. He was going to defend his home. "Pilot Gladion heading out."
