Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.

Recap~

"Who do you plan on asking to go to Hogsmeade with you Scorpius?" Albus asked quietly and Scorpius gulped because they never used their first names. That is how he knew Albus expected a serious answer.

"You know who I want to go with" Scorpius replied, his voice barely a whisper, because this was dangerous grounds he was stepping on, he knew that much.

He took a breath before raising his eyes to look at his best friend where all tone of playfulness had completely vanished and at that moment Scorpius knew that there was no way he would walk out unscratched from this.

Albus' eyes said that much.

~End of recap~

It was too silent all of a sudden, the sound of the chatting students having faded in the background. The only thing reaching the ears of the two boys that stood facing each other in the middle of the now slightly dark classroom was the ticking of what appeared to be an ancient clock gracing the far left corner of the south wall.

"I don't think that is such good idea." Albus sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose and Scorpius let out a small relieved breath because he expected his best friend's words to be worse, the kind of worse that puts sailors to shame to be honest. Albus didn't seem that furious. Frustrated? Sure. Worried? Hell yes. Not furious or mad or down right murderous though, and Scorpius could most definitely work with a worried Albus far easier than an aggravated one.

"You look relieved" Albus noted, an eyebrow raised in question when Scorpius' just nodded in response, not even realizing it until he had already gone through with it.

"Umm, I am … kind of…yeah" the blonde boy muttered, scratching the back of his head awkwardly, making Albus chuckle quietly.

"You assumed I was going to see red and throw a bloody fit then?" he asked, smirking and Scorpius laughs cautiously.

"Still waiting for one actually. You might as well still be in a state of shock" let out Scorpius in what he thought was a quiet whisper but was loud enough for Albus to listen and start laughing anyway.

"Do you want to know why I am not freaking out over this Malfoy? "Asked Albus , a playful smile making its way to his lips. Scorpius finally let himself relax a tiny bit, deciding based on Albus'smile that his friend was not going to launch himself on him with the intention of hurting him, not in the near future at least.

"I would love to know. Why don't you enlighten me?" prodded Scorpius , his mood considerably better now that the air did not feel as heavy and suffocating around them any more.

"I don't really think you stand a chance when it comes to Rose." said Albus , his eyes certain. His words bothered Scorpius quite a bit.

"Excuse me?" he asked, raising a blonde eyebrow as if to question if he had heard right.

"Oh come on! Do you really think she is just going to willingly fall into your arms? I doubt she is going to give you the time of day. My cousin is too smart for that." Albus announced smugly and Scorpius rolled his eyes at him.

"Did I say she is not smart? That doesn't mean she will be able to resist my charm for much longer though." The blonde boy smirks, flicking his hair to add to his words. "I believe I certainly stand a chance."

Albus barely managed to refrain from snorting at Scorpius' words. "Good luck with that mate!" His words come out mockingly cheerful and Scorpius narrowed his eyes at him, before adjusting the strap of his bag on his right shoulder and turning towards the door.

"There will come a time when you will regret ever doubting me Potter!" Scorpius' laced with over exaggerated drama words reached Albus ears and the green eyed boy simply laughed because no cousin of his could possibly succumb to the Malfoy charm that easily.

Right?

As Albus made his way out of the classroom and into the dark corridor his thoughts consisted of images of his baby cousin running after Scorpius, her arms filled with chocolate and hair products in hopes of pleasing him.

Albus would rather get a hex aimed at his family jewels rather that meet such a sight really.

...

Rose was on her way back from making rounds on the second floor when she heard loud footsteps approaching her. Assuming that it was just another student sneaking around, she decided that she might as well check on it since she was practically still on prefect duties even if it was only for another ten minutes.

The red haired girl didn't even have the time to turn around though. Before realizing it she was knocked down by what appeared to be the body of a male judging by the way her breath was knocked out of her too and the steady arms that managed to save her from hitting her head against the stone floor just barely. Her gratitude for how her head fortunately remained fully functioning did not change the fact that Scorpius Malfoy was basically sprawled all over her body, pinning her to the very much cold ground though. If anything it made her more aware of how their noses were literally touching as they both breathed unevenly. She could smell his cologne and damn was it prominent. Not necessarily unpleasant but most definitely making a statement.

Shaking her head to clear her thoughts , Rose narrowed her eyes at the boy on top of her. She most certainly didn't notice the specks of gold swimming in the silver that was Scorpius eyes while doing so. Of course not. That would be downright absurd.

"Is there a particular reason that explains why you are yet to make a move to get off me?" she questioned , raising an eyebrow and watching as Scorpius eyes focused, god knows what he was thinking, and he simply nodded, standing up and brushing of his trousers, before offering Rose a steady hand to pull her up, a barely there blush tainting his normally pale cheeks.

Rose didn't manage to hide a small smile as she accepted his offer of help and finally found herself on her feet, gazing into an obviously baffled Scorpius Malfoy. Rose thought that she liked him better that way. He was definitely a sight to behold.

Realizing where her thoughts were leading to, Rose mentally slapped herself because no, she refused to have a crush on Scorpius Malfoy of all people. She should also stop referring to him in her head using his full name. She should do well to stop thinking about him all together actually. Oh, that would be absolutely brilliant.

Rose was soon brought back to reality by Scorpius' manically waving hand entering her line of sight.

"Are you okay?" he asked and his voice sounded a tad bit too worried for Rose's liking.

"It is past curfew" she replied instead, watching Scorpius' lips twitch up to form a small smirk. Now that was the Scorpius Malf- the Scorpius just Scorpius ,she mentally grits her teeth, that she knew and didn't love. Not at all. Ha! Take that cute blush and perfect complexion, and stormy eyes and—oh for the love of god someone slap her.

"I am aware" was his simple answer.

"Why are you out and about then. I could very easily deduct some point and-" Rose matter of fact tone went to waste since Scorpius was quick to ct her off half sentence.

"I am back from rounds too Weasley." And damn, Rose had forgotten that he is a prefect too.

"Still, the dungeons are far-"

"I am aware of that too" Twice, Rose counted in her head. "I was looking for you actually." Wait. What? No.

"You see I was wondering.." Scorpius started taking a step forward, towards Rose while she instinctively took a step back. Rose couldn't help but think that wondering never benefited anyone, not really.

"..you see valentines day is approaching.." Rose could not see anything. Nope. She would rather be blind and deaf as to not hear the continuation of that's sentence.

Her eyes wondered to Scorpius lips where he appeared to be struggling to express himself, a rather rare occasion when it came to him and she quickly averted her gaze when Scorpius followed her eyes and those lips of his formed into a confident smile. Taking a small breath he straightened up and took another step forward. Rose's back was against a wall by now. She liked it there. The wall did not have the tendency to make her doubt her thoughts and emotions with a simple step. Walls were good, stable. She could write a poem about how much she loved them.

"…would you like to go to Hogsmeade with me?" There. It was out in the open.

Scorpius Malfoy just asked her out. Rose's mouth must have hung open for a bit too long because Scorpius' expression showed both amusement and worry but Rose had bigger things to be upset over.

"No"

Scorpius' smile flattered and his eyes glistened with something Rose failed to identify.

"What?" he looked so genuinely surprised that Rose was a bit bothered actually.

"I said no" she replied calmly.

"Why not?" Scorpius asked, his frown making his displeasure at Rose's words evident as his hands were placed on the wall, on either side of Rose's face. Rose did no longer appreciate walls as much as she did a few minutes back.

"Why do you look so upset? Just ask one of your fangirls! I am sure they will be glad to accompany you. Some of them have probably asked you already." Scorpius laughed bitterly.

"So that is what this is about!"

"Excuse me?"

"I am just asking you if you want to come with me. Why do you have to bring other people into this?" Scorpius gritted his teeth, his eyes narrowed at Rose who was by then throwing him a pretty hard glare back.

"Why can't you accept no for an answer?" she retaliated and Scorpius huffed, taking a step back.

"When will you finally get it Rose?" he asked, a defeated look taking over his features.

"Get what? That I am not one of those over eager girls for you to play with?" Rose was far gone by then. Perhaps that is what she had been afraid of all along.

"You know what? Forget it. Just answer me one question."

"Will you drop it after?"

"Yes" Scorpius assured her, a cold smile playing at his lips. "Have I ever actually asked out any of those girls?"

Rose's answer was caught in her throat as Scorpius turned his back at her and made to leave the empty corridor.

Rose could barely see him when his words reached her ears.

"I don't bite"

It wasn't a sneer this time, if anything Scorpius sounded defeated.

…...

On the 14th of February, when Rose makes her way into "The tree broomsticks", shaking her curls to get rid of the snow that had settled on top of her head, Albus by her side, she realizes what Scorpius had figured out years ago.

It only took her seeing him leading a pretty blonde girl to a small table by the corner of the cozy shop, his hand resting on her waist and observing as he excused himself to go grab their butterbeers, not before pecking her lightly on the lips. The girl sighed dreamily as he left and Rose's vision became blurry.

No. She did not just have a crush on him.

Wow! A lot of stuff going on huh? *laughs evily* Things are getting interesting.

Soooo… what did you think of it? TELL ME. I mean…you know, only if you want to… please do it.

I seem to be having a problem when it comes to writing in past tense lately. Idek.
