Today seemed like a dream even on the drive home. I just couldn't wrap my head around what had happened. I was sure the captain or Glenn would have had something to say, but they didn't say anything. I was sure he would yell at me or try to hit me, but there was nothing and that is what hurt the most. Once I get home, my mom is sitting on the porch drinking a cup of tea with our neighbor. I hop out of my car and my mother waves me over to say hello. I grab my bag and head over to the porch. As I get closer, I recognize the neighbor and a smile creeps onto my face. It was Mrs. Scarlatti from across the street. She and my mom had been friends from years ago and then when we moved to this block, they rekindled their friendship.

"Elena you remember Mrs. Scarlatti," she says with a smile once I get up the stairs.

"Of course," I say before I am engulfed in a hug by the woman.

"You have grown up so much since I have seen you last," She says once she lets me out of the hug. "Have you been well at the police station?"

"Yes ma'am," I say stretching slightly. "It's been a busy past few days."

"I know Michelangelo mentioned running into you a couple of times," She says more to my mother than to me.

"Oh yea I ran into his team quite a bit lately," I say smiling slightly.

"Ma!" A voice from the end of the driveway say. I turn to see Spike. "Stop spreading false statements to the neighbors. Sorry Elena."

"No its ok," I say with a smile as he comes up on the porch. "It's not a total lie I have run into you while at work quite a bit lately."

"True," he says. "Ma I wanted to ask if you were coming back soon. Dad went to bed already and I was gonna head to sleep since we have recruitment training in the morning."

"Oh my," Mrs. Scarlatti says checking her watch. "I didn't realize it had gotten so late. I will head back over with you Michelangelo." She gives a quick nod to me and my mother and her and Spike head back to their house across the way.

"I didn't know you had run into him lately," my mother says once we are inside our house.

"Oh yea he is a part of the SRU Team that I keep running into and the ones I am going to be training with them in the morning." I say walking into my room and crashing on my bed.

I wake up in the morning and get prepared to go to the training grounds. I had decided to go through the training of SRU. I was not sure that they would accept me after hearing all about me, but I thought that I could see what it all encompassed and go from there. It was a weekend thing. So Friday was going to be physical training, and Saturday was going to be more mental training. I packed my gym bag and headed down the stairs. I grabbed a piece of toast my mom had made before she headed to work at the bank and I walked out to my car. I head out to the SRU training grounds. I arrive and get changed in the locker rooms and then head out to the grounds. While I am doing some warm ups, some of the SRU members came up to the group of us that were out there warming up.

"There are a few others who are on their way," Jules says.

"Ed has not been in the best mood lately," Sam says. "So be prepared for a tough session." I groan mentally. I was used to tough training, but Ed's was known to be brutal.
