Escape and Re-capture
Lucy was thrown on the couch by Cobra, she flipped her head around and huffed. Scowling at his presence "you think I wanted to do that!" Cobra yelled, trying to wipe off Lucy's scowl.
"Well you didn't hesitate!" She countered.
"If I did I'd be dead." The words escaped his lips and swirled through he dry air. "Why?"
"He's the big boss! Their are spies everywhere surrounding the house... His 'prize possession'. If I refused-" he snapped his fingers "-that's how long It'd take for me to be dead! He's ruthless Lucy you just don't get it! Not everyone has a good side!" He yelled, practically spitting at her.
Lucy slumped onto the couch. 'He has the power to do that? But I'm sure he has a good side' that's something Lucy had always thought.
She couldn't quite explain it, all she remembers is a woman's voice echoing through her mind "my little angel, everybody has a good side, you just have too look deep enough" it would say. The voice made Lucy feel warm inside, she couldn't quite figure out whose it was.
"Prize possession?" Lucy spurt out somewhere in her trail of thought, she glanced up at Cobra waiting for an answer. "You're just as dense as ever." He chucked, patting her on the head. He turned and walked down the hallway. Lucy pulled the object she had been hiding in her shorts for so long.
-flashback-
Lucy groaned after getting food. Today as going to be another boring day she could tell. She got up and walked back to Natsu's room! she felt unsanitary in her clothes she's been wearing all day yesterday and today now too.
She closed the door behind her and headed to the closet, in search for a t-shirt or maybe a nice pair of sweats. She opened the closet door and searched the clothes on the hanging rack, searching for something suitable.
Her eyes widened when her hand met something hard while browsing through the fabric.
She pushed away all the other clothes from the one dark purple dress shirt. She pulled, undoing the buttons and revealing the inside of the shirt.
It was a black leather harness, with two double pistols in it.
Lucy gasped, pulling back her hands in shock. Than it hit her.
Why should she be surprised, he is a gangster after all. She reached for the buttons, 'I may- well that's going to the extreme Lucy but you should be prepared...' She thought, pulling out the black metal object and stuffing it into the rim of her shorts, pulling her tank top over it.
She heard a thump from his office, she jumped at the noise. She quickly slammed the door shut and ran to the living room.
-end of flashback-
She slowly pulled the pistol out, trying not to make any noise. She clutched it with two hands. Finger on the trigger.
She gulped down the sweat that seemed to catch in her throat. Her chest got heavy, and palms got sweaty. She aimed, trying, etching her finger towards the trigger.
She silently sighed, lowering the gun. She could never take a human life, take away there right to live...
She snuck up cautiously behind him, retracing and avoiding the hardwood steps that she knew would creak. "I'm sorry" she mumbled, before plunging the butt of the gun into Cobras head. His body fell limp and Lucy dodged it like the plague.
She tip toed down the hall, pausing before the closed office door 'if my bags anywhere it's in their... It's the only place I haven't checked.' She sighed inwardly, twisting the knob open. She paused in the doorway, glancing back at an unconscious Cobra. "I'm so sorry Cobra I'll make it up to you" she whispered, disappearing into the office.
It was a very nice office. No windows, 'gunshots and all, makes sense' Lucy shrugged, glancing around at the rest of the office. The walls where a dark grey and black hardwood floor. On the far wall their was a cubbyhole bookshelf with individual lights in each hole, illuminating the objects inside. In front of that, was a polished black desk, with minimal paper, a laptop a picture frame and a lamp on it. Behind was a rolling black leather chair. In front of the desk where two leather chairs. Lucy gaped at the scene. She had never thought of Natsu as the fancy type.
She scurried around the desk and sat into his leather chair, she could still feel heat radiating off it. She scanned her eyes over the desk, searching through the documents, hoping to find a clue of sorts.
She doesn't know how, but her eyes find her way to the small picture frame in the corner of his desk. It was a small boy, lying in a grassy, flowery feild. Lying beside him was a small blonde girl, he wasn't looking at the camera though.. He was watching over the blonde girl as she slept peacefully.
Lucy's eyes focused in on the small girl, the picture of two children downstairs and the vivid vision of the children in the field popped into her mind. "No way." She breathed out.
'If Natsu acts like he hates me so much than why does he keep our picture on his desk...' She thought, scanning her eyes to one of the many drawers. Sighing to herself, she placed her hand on the handle and yanked hard back, watching the door slide open. She rummaged through the documents, not bothering to read them.
She pulled up the very last one and spotted a pink case. "My phone!" She shrieked in happiness, than covered her mouth. She picked it up and checked it.
72 messages
67 missed calls
She shrugged, her friends are getting better. She unlocked her phone and checked, most of them where from Erza and Gray as excepted, she even had some from Levy and Jellal and Gajeel! They really must be worked up since Dragneel is in town.
She sighed, reading over the messages quickly.
*bzzt bzzt*
Her phone vibrated and she catapulted onto the desk in shock.
*bzzt bzzt*
She quickly reached for her phone and scrambled it into her eye sight. 'Ice Queen' it read, and had a picture of Lucy ice skating with a black haired guy.
*bzzt bzzt*
Lucy smiled and composed herself before answering the call.
"Lucy? Lucy you their?"
"Gray it's you-"
"Thank god Lucy! Everyone been worried sick! We thought Dragneel killed you! So where are you and why the hell aren't you answering your messages!"
"Listen Gray-" she heard a moan coming from the living room, tingles shot up her spine and she lowered her voice to a whisper.
"Gray I don't have time to talk... Get in you're car and drive to the entrance at TENROU. The south one... Hurry. I'll explain all than." She whispered.
"Wait what-"
-beeeeep-
Lucy ended the call and stuffed her reunited phone into her pocket. She heard continuous grumbles coming from the living room. She quickly tip toed to put of the office, using two hands to close the door so it was silent. She ran down the hallway and skidded around the corner waiting for noise from the male with a growing consciousness.
1 second...
2 seconds...
3 seconds...
Lucy sighed happily. And reached for the door knob, pulling it open and jumping off the side of the porch and disappearing into the forest. 'Cobra said Natsu has spies in the trees so I just have to stay low and out of the general perimeter.' She thought, running behind a row of tall bushed for cover.
"Here I go" she sighed, launching across an open space to her next cover. She ducked behind the thick bush, sighing heavily.
She ran bushed to bushed until she was far away from that wretched house.
"Lucy! Get back here!" She heard a booming voice from the houses area, she instantly recognized the voice 'guess Cobra woke up'
"Lucy you have till the count of 3 before I send the spies out on you!" She heard these words and shuddered. 'Natsu said their where spies...' She shook inwardly, picking herself up and running away from the voice.
"1!"
Lucy began to run, hearing the crunches of the pine bristles and twigs below her steps. She felt the brief stinging of the small scratched that appeared on her thighs from the bushes.
"2!"
She kept running, not looking back. Or foreword, she ran strait into a tree root. She toppled over and landed on her back starring up at the sky. The fuz of a tv screen overtook her vision. It's dark, but a forest. All she sees are a pair of pink runners, running. Through a dense forest "don't come back Lucy it's not safe, got to Natsu's..." A women's voice echoed. 'Why isn't it safe? Who are you?' Lucy thought inwardly. "Well well Ms. Heartfilia Heir, you're all alone aren't you?" A boys voice rang. 'Heartfilia? Heir? All alone...'
"3!"
Lucy's eyes faded closed, she fell consciousness get the best of her easily, she was already warn out from the running and everything.
She heard two things before her eyes truly closed and she gave up to sleep.
"Times up!"
"You're a fickle one, come on Lu, we're going home."
Brightness flashed in Lucy's eyes. Her eye lids where heavy and hissed at the sudden flash of light. 'Its warm' she thought feeling her surroundings. It was soft, unlike the brittle forest she was in before.
She winced her eyes trying to open them more, it really was a struggle. Her hand twitched, trying to help her hoist herself up. But something was grasping her right hand.
She shot her eyes open and checked out her hand. She smiled warmly at the sight of Gray, who had fallen asleep holding her hand. She leaned over and pushed him a little to shake him awake.
"Mmmmnn" he groaned sleepily.
"Grayyyyyy wake uuuuuup" she cooed, pushing him a little harder. She felt a smirk overtake her face, as a evil plan brightened her mind.
She leaned down closely to Gray's sleeping head, ducking in beside his ear. She took a deep breath in;
"GRAY WAKE UP!"
"AHHHHHHHH" he bellowed falling off the bed. Lucy broke into an uncontrollable fit of giggles. Clutching her side, she fell back onto the bed and started to squirm with laughter. Gray narrowed his eyes, standing up over the bed.
"Ha ah ha SOOO funny" he said sarcastically. Lucy stopped giggling and looked up at her friend. "Eh? Oh well... I thought it was.." She said, with her words fading.
"Listen Lu. I think I've been pretty patient as to asking where you've been, I didn't wake you up from you sleep I let you sleep for a good 6 hours! Can you tell me what's going on?" He asked, sitting on the bed beside her.
'I honestly don't know what's going on...' Lucy's thought her mind spinning with questions. 'Can I trust him... Of course I can. But should I trust him...' Lucy zoned out thinking but eventually turned to Gray.
"I went for a hike yesterday after school and I lost my phone out their. I spent like all night trying to find it! But when I did I wanted to come home!" She lied easily. Thankfully, when she was escaping Cobra she got covered with grass stains and dirt.
Gray watched her for a bit, unsure about this story she had told. His eyes narrowed watching her, looking for any discomfort. Gray's pretty good at telling if people lie, he wants to be a cop when he's older. But Lucy is an excellent liar, she dose to know why it just comes easily to her.
"What where you thinking! All that matters is you're fine now, so have you contacted Erza?" Lucy's froze at his sudden words 'Erza' she shuttered inwardly.
"N-no... Here's the story... Um... Oh I got it! I lost my phone charger and my phone died, and I couldn't call for a ride to school so when you came I borrowed yours ok?" She asked begging for his agreement.
"Are you this good when you lie to me?"
"I don't know I've never tried" Lucy smiled innocently, Gray let out a small chuckle "wanna go get some dinner, you must be hungry!" 'Lunch...' Lucy drooled inwardly.
"Yes!" She squealed.
Lucy and Gray walked out of the restaurant. They left Gray's almost immediately, but Lucy begged to change and of course he let her. She changed into a black tight muscle shirt crop top and a black and white daisy skirt. She had on little black flats and waterfall braid in her hair. She grabbed a black purse and stuffed the normal stuff in... Phone, wallet, ID, brush, spandex, crop top, keys.
They walked over to Gray's car and took a seat after he unlocked it. "I could walk home actually." Lucy shrugged, knowing how close her destination was. "Yeah but I just wouldn't feel good about it. You looking the way you do... It's just not safe" Gray tried to reason, but Lucy was stubborn.
"Can't make me!" She joked, running out of the car and started to walk. "You're a fickle one Lu... CALL ME WHEN YOU GET HOME!" He smiled, she waved her hand in acknowledgement. And Gray left her, uneasy. He really didn't want to.
Lucy ran I the opposite direction of her house as soon as Gray's car was out of sight. She started to walk down street after street and crossed road after road until her destination came into sight. This whole time, she was unaware of the car tailing her.
She ran around the side of the school and clicked her key I to the back door. Her and Erza both had a set of keys in case of emergency. She closed the door behind her and skipped through the dark and empty halls. She finally reached the place she wanted to.
"Finally.." She sighed "I need this" she reassured herself and didn't think of the breaking and entering charges. Dance was the only thing on her mind. She walked into the dance studio and closed and locked the door behind her. She turned and glanced around her favourite place. Smiling in satisfaction, she walked to the centre of the room, dropping her bag near the door.
She froze and her heart leaped out of her chest. She had heard the click of a tongue echo around the room. Her eyes met a dark figure standing in the watching zone. "Who- who's their?" Lucy asked, backing towards the door slowly. She reached for her side to realize, she didn't have pockets.
Or more importantly, her keys, phone, and things she needs to escape are by the door.
She made a break for the door, running full speed and keeping her head down, hoping not to catch a glance of whoever this guy is. She felt something hard slap against her foot and she tumbled over. Lucy felt her whole body go numb, she was now defenceless, lying on the ground.
"Tsk tsk Lucy..." The voice taunted behind her, it made her blood run cold and send shivers up her spine. "where have you been?" It hissed, grabbing her arm and flipping her on her back.
She stared into the onyx eyes of her attacker. He was crouching beside her lying body. She let out a deep sigh "oh my gosh Natsu you scared me..." Her voice trailed off, she was waiting for his eyes to soften, but they didn't. His cold onyx eyes continued to glance at her with fury.
She gulped down her words. Natsu does scare her... But she spoke to him so casually? 'Why do I trust this guy?' She thought, widening her eyes.
"Why did you run." Natsu hissed in a low tone, Lucy couldn't help but think he sounded a bit hurt.
"Um..." She sighed quietly.
"Answer me!" He yelled, slamming a fist into the floor beside him. Lucy jumped at the sudden noise.
"Well I um... I ran because I wanted new clothes and oh ya.. I didn't want to be a prisoner" she scoffed, regaining her courage.
"That wasn't you're decision to make." He scoffed back, leaning away from her and she sat up.
"Um actually it was!" She spat feeling quite offended.
"As your fia- tch never mind." Natsu spat, holding his tongue 'that was too close' he sighed inwardly.
Lucy's eyes widened 'what was that? Fia? Or fi? Or maybe fri... As his friend? We are NOT friends!' She thought.
"W-whatever" she stuttered, sitting up and dusting off her skirt. "I'm leaving" she announced, rushing to the door and grabbing her purse. She felt a hard grasp on her arm, it was rough. Her eyes snapped to the grabber, Natsu, his eyes where piercing and his jaw was clenched.
"You wanna go? Fine! Let's go!" He snapped, pushing her out the door and dragging her to the back entrance.
Ohhhhhhh spookie!
ahah just kidding! Looks like Natsu got ticked off a tiny bit. Watch out Lucy, but don't worry readers. I got her back
