Chapter 6
Kid Pov
What is going on? We are being kidnapped by some stranger…. but where is Maka? Is she okay….I don't see her because the group is together. Everyone is sleep due to the sleeping gas that filled the empty room of the kidnappers hideout. I hear someone else be thrown into the room as well, but it sounded like Maka's voice that groaned in pain. I move towards the girl and see she's not a girl but a woman.
"Um who are you? At first I thought you were my friend Maka Albarn." When I mentioned Maka the woman perked up and looked me straight in the eyes.
"You know my daughter….. Um I don't know your name." She says getting up to sit in a sitting position.
"It's Death the Kid, but since it's such an odd name I allow people to call me Kid. Wait, your daughter!" I say trying to compare the two and they look alike, emerald eyes and long dirty blond hair. I think taking off my suit because it's so hot. Being in a room with very little oxygen is not a good place to be in.
"Oh Kid I am so sorry my dear. Maka's father Spirit is the reason this all happened. I became a spy to stop Cain's wrong doings towards Spirit but it became futile so my daughter and her group of girl friends became spies as well because they wanted to support Maka since Maka helped them at one time. I created a HQ for justice type reasons because a lot of families are being put into shady type situations because of mishaps. Maka here is a very special case, when she does missions that consist of killing the enemy she goes into a blood rage and she doesn't stop till she finishes her mission destroying everything in her path. Maka is…. well indestructible when she is in that state and its all my fault. "
"What how is it your fault?" I am not too shocked but still shocked about how well they kept this as a secret.
"When Maka was a child Spirit sent Maka to an evil scientist group and commenced project invincible. We were divorced and Spirit had custody over Maka so he sent her around that but she was the one that signed up for my company no matter how many times I told her that her life is on the line when sent on missions, or the factor that the punishments are heavy if your identity is found out. Our company has saved many lives in every type of way from bombings to rescues, so I know my daughter will come save us for sure." Kami says, her voice beaming with hope.
Maka Pov
I run into the bus and pull Marie over to talk to her about the incident and the rescue plan.
" the group has been kidnapped by my runaway from three years ago when you assigned him to me." I say recollecting my breath from the long sprint.
"What we need to stop Cain at all cost, plan RTB commence. You still have your equipment right, you know the motorcycle and the fighting equipment?" Marie says helping me dislodge our spy necessities from their hideout. Stein appears from the drivers seat and looks at me with curiosity.
"Maka where are the others? You all were supposed to be back by now. Did something happen?" Stein asks walking up to Marie's side and wrapping an arm around her waist.
"Mrs. Marie can you explain to Stein, I need to leave immediately before ten hours." I say going into my room to change. I slip on my black sleeveless turtleneck with a pair of black tights. I put on spy belt which is full of my equipment like: my grapple hook, my gun with a 8 set of bullets, my mini bombs, my throwing knives/daggers, my tracking device, my binoculars, and my bomb detector. You would think this is heavy but since I have been in this field every since I was twelve I have lived the life of a spy. Before I leave I stop in front of my mirrored self and see I look monstrous and I know when I get this mad I look like a monster. I remember my child self with this same expression.
*Flashback*
I was reminiscing over how my family once was a healthy family full of smiles through the photos. In the beginning of the album the three of us are standing there happily under the evening sun beaming over our heads. I start to tear up from that picture because I think where did the happiness go to. But from then on it made my heart harden from the intense reality.
"Hey nerd get over here. We want to play with you." One of my bullies say dragging me away by my hair away from my photobook, leaving it defenseless on the ground.
"What do you want? I was reading and I didn't want to be disturbed." I say crossing my arms waiting for an answer but only being dragged to the corner of the playground. They throw me against a tree and being surrounded by the enemy. Myself tells me to run away but another side of me says beat the shit out of them for revenge of what they did to you. I give in to revenge and smirk madly saying: "Ne, let's play a game." I get up slowly and swiftly grab one of their necks and choke them making the others back away and run for an escape. The one that I choked found a glass cup and threw it at me but there was no scratch on me. I picked up a piece of the glass and stare at my reflection. I instantly drop the glass piece and slip down the tree and shake, holding my knees to my chest I ask myself.
"Just who am I, am I a monster?" I ask sitting on the ground the shard still withholding my reflection.
*Flashback*
I shake the memory from my head and I ended up hauling the bike outside and hopped on it, and revving it up to maximum speed taking off ignoring any interferences. My mind is focused on one thing and that one thing is saving the people I love from my enemy who will soon be my ex-enemy because he'll be dead.
After three hours of long travel I finally make it to my destination. I stop the motorbike a couple of blocks away from the deteriorated building that's playing the role of a HQ. I begin to stretch popping out my knots from the long ride. I let myself fall into the deep end of my sanity only leaving a minimum amount of sanity left within me. I look at myself in my mirror and see that my eyes are burning with anger. I run up near the building and toss a grenade at the door and in three seconds the bomb explodes and I walk through the explosion.
"Oh, so this is the famous Maka Albarn. Hehe interesting, Iets have some fun shall we." One of Cain's henchmen says pointing a remote to the monitor above us. It shows my friends and my mom locked in a hideous room.
"Where are they?" I say my voice seething with anger as I take another step towards the man. At first he shudders then pulls out a gun and points it at me, ready to fire. I pull out my dagger and get in a stance ready for attack.
"You won't find out because you will be dead. Don't worry child it will be over soon." He says firing his ammo running out quickly.
I dodge skidding to the right, getting near the target. I dodge all of his bullets, dropping the gun he pulls out a sword and comes charging at me with the sword but I deflect all of his attacks. He seems weak fighting with a sword, I think to myself. His blade collided with mine and I stab his hand causing him to drop his sword giving me a chance to strike and I jab my knife into his heart multiple of times making him cough up blood and the shine in his eyes disappeared as his pupils become wide, taking over the color in his eyes. I drop his body charging towards the room they most likely are in.
Kid Pov
I perk up when I hear the door being opened and the lights being turned on making everyone wake up because of a breach. I am guessing the intruder is Maka coming to save us. They forcefully pull us up and drag us out but Tsubaki, Liz, Patti, and Kami are left in the room with a man with long brown hair with amber eyes named Cain. Before I leave with the other guys I see Cain lick his lips hungrily, a sadist like grin on his face. I am down by the hallway and I hear a scream from the room I just left and it sounds like they are screaming bloody murder.
"Are the girls okay sir?" I ask the bodyguard who's dragging me and the boys.
"Most likely no, he was talking about how he was going to rape them and kill them so…." The man says and I see an explosion right in front of my eyes, almost hitting me in the head. Only one person can cause this much destruction…. Maka.
I look through the rubble and see the heroine that stands before me and the bodyguards that hold us all point guns at her. I scream for them to stop but they don't listen to me and fire at the silhouette in front of them. Their rapid fire is ruthless but that doesn't stop Maka because she is still walking. The storm of rubble clears and Maka picks up speed and she disappears from my line of sight. Then I see blood splattered on the floor and turn to see Maka behind me but the Maka before me doesn't seem like the Maka I know.
"Maka I am so glad you came to save us." I say helping the others up as well.
"Damn Maka I didn't know you had this much fight in you." Soul says getting closer to her but she steps back, now that I have a better view of Maka her eyes are blank full of emptiness and she just stares at us as if she doesn't know who we are. Blood is all over her body but it's not hers, it's of the ones she's killed.
"THE GREAT GOD HAS AWAITED YOUR SERVICE!" Black Star says laughing quite loudly.
"Ugh..Too loud….Who are you? Why do you interfere with me? Do you want to die too?" Maka says starting to pull out a long sword and charges at us but I dodge.
"Maka it's me Death the Kid. Don't you remember me?" I say and she shakes her head.
"Ah yes Kid, the guy who has caused myself many new emotions. I have kept them sealed for so long but ruined my plan to keep me emotionless." She says dropping her sword and charging at me once more but this time I can't dodge it. Her cold hands slip around my neck and tightens her grasp. I hugged her tightly and accepted her pain making it my pain until I felt tears drop on my shirt. I look down to see Maka crying while choking me.
Maka Pov
I am now trapped within my madness as my body fights on it's own. I see Kid and the other guys and my body asks 'who are you?' I know who they are but I can't seem to register it to my body. Just then after my attempt of using my weapon failed I dropped it and charged at him cornering him so I wrap my hands around his neck. I feel myself beginning to cry and my body allows me to regain consciousness because the madness realizes I don't want to hurt them so I release my grip and step back. Kid leans on the wall and regains his breath.
"Kid where are the others? Are they safe?" I ask but he shakes his head and just points to the room down the hallway. I feel my madness return and I run down the hallway breaking down the steel door with my bare arms. Kid stands beside me looking with wide eyes and I follow his gaze.
The site I see is the most repulsive that I have yet to see. My friends and my mother naked with whip marks on their once perfect skin, the girls cover up their bodies embarrassed. I look and see Cain standing with a knife in his hands the girls to be wide eyed in fear and I march into the room but Cain picks up my crying mother and holds a gun at her chest.
"MOTHER! LET GO OF HER YOU COWARD!" I say starting to walk towards them but he pulls out a gun and points it at her head.
"Maka stay back its too dangerous, calm down." Mom says trying to get out of his grasp but it remained futile.
"Now now my dear niece Maka lets see how you take when someone precious to you is gone. Kami you never saw the love I had for you and for that reason you should just die. If I can't have you no one can. Lets see how your monstrous daughter reacts. " Cain says his finger on the trigger slowly putting pressure on it.
"STOP IT! NOOO!" I plead but it's futile because he fires it and my mother goes limp in his arms, her blood covering his hands and her once warm beautiful skin is now cold and pale. I feel my insanity taking over me and I… feel like a monster… because I am one.
"HAHAHAHA! How does it feel to lose someone so important to you? Suffering because of your loss. Your mother was nothing more than a whore who took pride in her daughter. Besides you were just a test subject that went wrong. Your stupid mother had to put a stop to it. " Cain says walking up to me and lifts my head with his fingers but he can't see my eyes because they are hidden through my bangs.
"Mother…. mother….. Are you okay….. speak to me mother..." I whisper slapping his hand away from my face heading towards my mother, I reach down and touch my mothers cold cheek. The mother who cared for me kindly whenever something bad happened. The mother who always smiled when I came to visit her because she was happy to see me. The mother that I have loved more than anything else is now dead her soul being carried by the angel of death. I feel the cold hand move and I clasp it and look at my mother.
"*Cough cough* M-maka….. I love...you...and….. I-I… never….. thought of you…...as a monster…" My mother says but as soon as she said that her hand went limp in my grasp. I shake rapidly as reality hits me telling me that she's dead.
"Mama…..open your eyes…..mama….mama….. Answer me…..don't leave me alone…. MAMA!" I drop to my knees and scream and I feel my rage consume me and my monster takes over. I place my jacket around her dead body and I shoot a death glare at the one that caused my mama to die early. I pull out my secret weapon which is my dual blade and I get into stance and go on full attack mode. The sacred fighting style which mama taught me is said to kill you but in order to fulfill my wish I will use it. Nothing else matters except my revenge, Cain be ready because I am coming for the kill.
Kid Pov
I see Maka make some sort of stance that looks so beautiful and Cain looks at her wide eyed and walks closer towards her.
"Maka you fool don't do that stance it may kill you, oh never mind you are a monster so you can survive it." He says stepping forward once more.
"Well I wonder how I became a monster?" Maka says cocking her head to the right a little.
"Girl if you must know I disliked Spirit and you so I became a scientist for the experiment because your father took her away from me and then had a child too. Then I offered Spirit a lot of money if I had you so he gave you to me and we experimented on you at a young age. We had experimented too far and one day you went on a warpath killing everything in sight, and we were going to test you more but your mother interfered and forcefully shut the project down leaving you invincible. That is why we named it project invincible. We left you to live freely and left you alone, with orders saying not to interfere with your life. Now that you know go on and-" Cain's sentence is cut off when a merciless pierced his heart, his dead body dropped next to his beloved sisters.
Maka then returns back to normal, then she looks up to me and smiles and then she walks towards me shakily and falls into my arms. The group huddles around her and they hear her plea to her mother to not die. The girls cry because they lost their boss and were going to have to tell HQ that their boss is dead.
We all head outside and see the tour bus next to I supposes is Maka's motor bike and we all board. I go with Marie t help her carry Maka's motor bike back in the tour bus so I decide to leave the explaining for the girls. I rush back inside and enter Maka's room to find Soul Eaters lips way to close to her unconscious ones so I interrupt by clearing my throat getting his attention.
"Woah Kid, you surprised me for a second there. I was just…...uh….. checking to see if she has a fever…. Turns out she doesn't… Hahaha…..I am going to leave now..." Soul says slipping out of the door swiftly.
I sigh getting ready to leave when I feel her hand tug my shirt I turn to see her fully awake.
"Kid please don't leave me….. stay.." Maka says scooting over to give me room to lay in it as well. I gulp, my face red as a tomato I get in it and feel Maka snuggle up against my chest.
"Good night Maka." I say starting to fall asleep.
"Good night Kid…. I….love….you…" Maka says wrapping her arms around my stomach and I get comfortable realizing she's not letting go anytime soon, I fall asleep as well.
