DarkDusk27: I have definitely nailed it down to one canon character from a couple I had in mind, I can't reveal too much right now or it would be major spoils for the story. But right now romantic feelings won't start to pop up until about late Part 1 or so and even then probably a lot of conflicting feelings from her past life.
TreesoftheWild: Hopefully this chapter is showing the improving interactions but it's just hard to do it because there isn't much information on what went on before part 1. Things will get better as I get used to writing the characters. Also thank you for giving the idea about the fan girls and also the idea of fan boys for Haruka, now I have some funny situations for the future.
"RRRAAGGGHHH!" my shout of frustration only helped to show just how much frustration I have gone through in the past two months of working on the task given to me by father. I had been able to cheat through the first one by meticulously micromanaging the charka to go between the threads manging to repeat it a couple of times. However the double layered cloth just made it impossible.
"Haruka, some people are trying to mediate so keep it down," father said as he passed by me with his morning tea in hand.
If an anime anger tick could form on my head, there would be one right now.
Trying to figure this out on my own like father seems to want me to do doesn't work at all, but even Hinata is making more progress then I am. THAT, got people talking, the heir of the clan, known for progressing at a rate faster then virtually anyone in the clan behind her twin who she taught virtually everything.
I tried to copy others but everyone seemed to be on missions or practicing in non clan training grounds. However there might be one member of the clan that wouldn't follow my father's unspoken order to not teach me.
Neji.
It's a long shot of weather or not he will actually teach me but I'm willing to do anything so that i can start practicing real gentle fist as early as possible. Especially if I want to be able to keep up with the two power houses Naruto and Sasuke.
This is why I'm now standing in front of Neji's house on the compound.
Knock Knock
The light tap on the door was all it took for Neji's mother to come to the door, his mother's eyes widen in surprise upon seeing me.
"Lady Haruka, to what do I the pleasure?" she asked me with a bow.
"My I speak with Neji?" I would have preferred to have talked to him at one of the training grounds but my schedule didn't allow that.
"Of course," she went back into the house and came back with Neji.
"Could you leave us for the moment?"
"Yes, Lady Haruka."
Once I was sure that his mother is out of hearing range, I started to talk to Neji.
"I need your help with learning the gentle fist."
"Why does the genius of Hyuga clan need help?" Neji said with a condescending attitude.
"Look, I just need some help so what do you want, favors, money?" I've been saving up birthday and allowance money to buy a book I've been eyeing.
"I have no need for such things."
"Then what do you want, if it's within my power..."
"If your just going to be wasting my time..." Neji made a motion as if going back inside the house.
"Please, I know I will eventually learn but I need to learn it now or I won't be able to get strong enough in time..." I almost let slip the future events, I need get better on not letting my emotions get the better of me.
"Strong enough in time, for what?"
Current Neji is by far the most annoy person, I can't wait for when Naruto knocks some sense into him. If I tried to do anything of the like, it would just be the destiny of a main family member defeating a branch family member or something like that.
"Look, I need to get strong so that everyone will respect me and I can have power to protect my sisters," I said and then bowed before Neji. "That is why I am begging you, to please help me."
My pride will take a blow for this embarrassing act but I am all to willing if it means getting the power I need.
A full minute passed by of me, bowing before Neji before I heard him sigh and say.
"Alright, tomorrow I help you," Neji said.
"Thank you, very much," I said, with another bow.
The two of us then parted ways until tomorrow.
I had to cut into my valuable seal practicing time to do my training with Neji but the short interruption will reap many great rewards that will outweigh time lost.
"So you tried to cut corners?" Neji asked me as I told him how far along I am in the gentle fist style, and I gave a nod to his question. "Then we will have to start from scratch."
The start from scratch meet me having to spend the rest of the week expelling charka from my hands in one direction, accurately. Most of the techniques I used are ones that I can draw the charka back into me after use but the way he wanted it done left me with little reverses after each training session.
Father seemed to notice my drained self and I suspect he also knows about Neji training me but he has said anything yet.
After week, Neji grumbled at the progress that I had apparently made and that leads me to believe that he took much longer to get through this. However Neji seem to make the training sessions more brutal in compensation.
In the mean time at school I started to gain some new friends.
Choji and Shikamaru, although you would think that Ino would be the one to introduce us as their families are so closely tied it was actually Sakura. Apparent her parents didn't have enough money as their currently in a bit of a rough spot from the dip the economy is taking as a result of war debt the government has. So Sakura was forced to go hungry for lunch however Choji noticed it and gave her some of his lunch.
Thus with Choji came Shikamaru as a tag along.
"Man, what a pain," Shikamaru said as he lazily shuffled along side us.
"You don't have to come with us if you don't want to," Ino said, getting irritated at his complaining.
Everyone is heading over to Ino's place as I couldn't host anyone at my place and the others 'aren't fit for a Hyuga' as Ko liked to say.
"Ino, Shikamaru is just tired from today's training," I said to her, trying to calm her.
"Still."
Even though everyone is around the age of 7, their a lot smarter then others their age. I guess I've been influencing them, and I haven't been holding back in using speech more advance then my body's age.
"Besides it wouldn't due to have the heirs to the Ino-Shika-Cho arguing would it," I teased.
"Ma, just 'cause our fathers did that doesn't mean we will..." Ino started.
"Alright, alright."
"Lady Haruka you should keep up your appearance well in public," Ko said from behind me.
"I understand Ko," I said, I straightened up having forgotten about him there for a second, feeling like my old life again. I moved closer to Ino for a second and whispered to her, "Even though Ko is only four years older then us, he is such a stick in the mud."
Ino giggled at the words and whispered back, "All geniuses seem to be like that, even you."
"Yeah, Neji is like that...wait, what?" It took me a second to realize what she said.
"Everyone says your one, I've heard my father talking talk to my mother about you sometimes," she said. "He says your abilities appear once in a generation."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I think I heard something about them making a special case for you, whatever that means," Ino said.
Special case, what is that supposed to mean?
"Welcome to our house," Ino's mother greeted us.
"Thank you for inviting us," the rest of us chorused.
After the get together at Ino's horse everyone but Sakura left as she was staying over for a sleep over that Hinata and I couldn't attend as they don't have enough standing. The next morning however started with what I could only describe somewhere between panic and misery.
The great Uchiha clan had been massacred and the only survivor is Sasuke Uchiha his older brother Itachi Uchiha the perpetrator of the crime.
This of course led to the Hyuga clan on guard, everyone that can is using the byakugan and everyone is in pairs of threes. All active duty ninja are in full battle attire, ready to spring to action and non-Hyuga clan ninja are stationed around the compound in case anything happens.
Even Hinata and I are not spared from the over protectiveness the clan is feeling as father, grandfather, Ko and another member of the clan walked the two of us to school.
I noticed the same thing seemed to go with many of the other clan students and even the heirs to the Ino-Shika-Cho are all grouped together with their parents. Paranoia seemed to be everywhere, older students and teachers are all jumpy, there are even sentries visibly outside the academy who seem to harass anyone they deem suspicious.
"Haruka, what's going on, no one is saying anything," Ino asked, she does not like being kept out of the loop.
"The Uchiha clan has been massacred," I said, having over heard with charka enhanced hearing.
Ino and Sakura both gasped. "Who did it?"
"I don't know," I don't have concrete evidence and things could have changed but I remember that it was Itachi and Obito/Tobi that did it.
Sasuke returned a week later, his eyes with dark begs under them and his usually much brighter personality replaced with one of gloom. He still completed his work but interacted little if at all and was absolutely brutal in taijutsu class.
"Begin," Iruka shouted.
Sasuke rushed forward, usually he was more cautious after are first fight, trying to get a hit in hear and there to wear me down. I stepped quickly to the side, dodging his right haymaker and then grabbed onto his wrist quickly pulling it behind his back so that I could force him to the ground. However Sasuke lashed out with a kick forcing me to let go of him and move back.
So he's starting to get better at ignoring the pain.
Sasuke turned around and came back at me but this time faking the right hook as I found out when I barely managed to dodge his left swing.
It looks like I'm going to have to take this more seriously.
I take a few steps back to the edge of the ring to get a better read of the situation and Sasuke it seems didn't want so he ran at me. Deciding what I was going to do, I shifted my arms into a position like that of a boxer and charged at Sasuke with a burst of speed so quick he barely had anytime to react until I was practically in his face. Trying to get back so he could attack and protect him self, Sasuke backed up but it gave me the perfect opportunity. My right fist jabbed at his chin forcing his head farther back along with his back and I struck again this time at his stomach with a left fist jab.
Sasuke curled in at the attack on his vulnerable stomach in pain but I didn't give him the luxury to recover. I kneed him in the face sending his head back again.
"Stop!" Iruka shouted. "The fight goes to Haruka," Iruka said before going to Sasuke's aid.
I could see blood dripping down from his nose.
"I don't need your help," Sasuke said trying brush off Iruka. "I can still fight."
"And still lose," I said to him. "You fought better before trying to wear me down but now you just try to go for quick and brutal which is something I pride myself on, although you did improve on your pain tolerance."
Trying to take me head on is something that many of my classmates learned is not how you beat me which suited Shikamaru and Ino fine. But for those like Choji and Naruto who based most of their attack around doing so struggled.
"Did you have to be so hard on Sasuke, he just lost his family," Ino said to me after I went back into the crowd as the next to participates came up.
"Going easy on Sasuke would make him feel weak, that I'm just toying with him but by doing what I did and telling him what he did wrong, will fix that," I said to Ino, she didn't say anything else but the look she gave me said 'I can't argue your logic but its still mean'.
Iruka kept us separate for the taijutsu matches, so I was forced to practice against the others, and none of the others are much of a fight, especially as Hinata is always an opponent at home.
A little over half a month since I started training with Neji, father came to visit during one of the sessions.
"Lord Hyuga," Neji said bowing before him.
"Father, what are you doing here?" I asked as I bowed in respect.
"I came to see how your training is coming along," father said to me. "Continue."
"Yes, father," I said before going back to the training exercises that Neji devised of using leather instead of cloth as it more closely resemble human skin while cheaper is more effective then cloth.
"You devised these training methods Neji?" father asked him.
"Yes, lord Hyuga."
"Hmm."
I could see with my byakugan, father activating his byakugan.
"Haruka, stop for a moment."
"Yes, father."
Father moved forward and inspected the leather for a second before moving back. "In a month I will see your progress, and then we will see about weather you can move to the next stage."
"Thank you, father," I couldn't stop the smile that spread across my face at his words.
He moved to leave but then stopped and said. "Neji, would like to speak to you later about the training methods you have made,"
"Yes, lord Hyuga,"
"You have done good, your father would be proud."
I was going to make this a short chapter but then my brain said "But wait there's more!" for once.
Please leave a comment, they give me ideas and motivation.
