Hello! Now you get to discover how Bella know's Alice! I hope you love it!

Chapter Six

Edward's POV

Bella's eyes were wide, her mouth hanging open in shock as she stared at Alice. I looked between the two of them. Alice didn't seem to have the same reaction as Bella did.

"Do we know each other?" Alice asked.

Tears welled in Bella's eyes and fell down her cheeks. She jerked her head away from Alice, her hand over her mouth as she hid her choked sob. I stepped forward and placed my hand on her shoulder.

"Are you okay, Bella?"

Bella quickly wiped away her tears and cleared her throat. She straightened her dress out before looking at both Alice and me.

"I'm fine. Just… a little shocked is all."

"Shocked by what?" Alice asked, taking a step to Bella.

Again, Bella's eyes widened as she looked at Alice again. Bella looked down, more tears falling down her cheeks.

"This was a bad idea. I have to go." Bella said as she turned to the door.

Alice grabbed Bella's arm, stopping her, "You recognize me. I know you do. Tell me where you know me from."

Bella slowly turned and faced her, "You don't remember me?"

"No, I don't. Please, tell me." Alice begged.

Bella slowly shook her head, eyes closing as she tried to push away a memory.

"Maybe it's best we leave the past behind. You've found a new family."

Bella jerked out of her arm and grabbed the door handle, but Alice stopped her again.

"No, you're not leaving until you tell me. Please. I need to know. I've been in the dark for so long. If you could shed some light on my past, anything, it'll help so much."

Bella took a deep breath and turned around. Her eyes were red from the tears and her mouth was puffy from her biting her lip. For the first time since I've really looked at this woman, she actually looked like the small, innocent teenager she was portraying.

"Why don't you come in dear," Esme said, her mother instincts kicking in, "Would you like something to eat or drink? We don't have much, but I could throw something together."

"If you have green tea, or chamomile tea that'd be great." Bella said. I helped her shrug her coat off then hung it on the coat rack.

"So, we're just welcoming unwanted guests in our home now?" Rose sneered from the doorway.

"Rosalie, don't be rude," Alice said.

Bella looked up at Rose, pushing her hair back, "Be careful vampire, I am in no mood for bitchiness."

Rosalie snorted and turned, leaving the room and out to the garage to tune up her BMW. Even though she was mad, she wouldn't bother Bella. Carlisle had strictly forbidden it. He didn't want anyone pissing her off and exposing us. He believed she was dangerous.

"I'll make you a cup of tea." Esme said, then looked at me, "Take her into the good sitting room. Emmett and Jasper are in the living room."

I lead Bella to the good living room, which was a room that was rarely used. Esme didn't want anyone messing it up. She had spent a lot of time decorating and finding the right furniture for the room.

Bella and I sat on the loveseat while Alice took the armchair. Esme returned with a steaming pot of tea and a tea cup. She laid the tray on the table and sat on the other armchair.

Bella reached forward and poured herself a cup, forgoing the sugar. She took a sip, staring into the cup.

"Please, Bella, tell me," Alice said.

"Unless it's too difficult." Esme said, giving Alice a pointed look, "We don't want to push you into telling us something to painful."

Bella took a deep breath, the cup between her hands. She stared ahead, almost refusing to look at Alice.

"Many years ago… when there was a coven, a dark time had come. Men seeking to destroy all the witches were on the loose and suddenly, we were being eliminated. The coven leader, thought it was best to separate all the witches. So, all the witches separated and that lead to the demise of the coven."

"I don't understand," Alice said, "What does this have to do with me."

Bella closed her eyes, trying to hold back tears, "Your middle name, is Alice. Your first name is actually Mary. You were born 1572. And you were a surprise to the coven. A half human half witch. Some of the coven members looked at you as a mistake, others looked at you as the future." Tears fell down Bella's cheeks, "Even though, you weren't as powerful as the rest of us, you were incredible. Strong. Smart. And so lively. You filled my life with so much joy."

Alice leaned closer to Bella, "Who am I to you? What am I?"

Bella swallowed, then turned to face Alice, "You were a half witch. And you were also… my younger sister."

"Wait, I thought you said you didn't have any family?" I asked.

"I don't," Bella said, her head snapping up sharply, "I didn't know Mary… I mean Alice was still alive."

"I-I was a witch?" Alice said.

"A half witch, yes." Bella answered, taking a bigger sip of her tea.

"What's the difference?" Alice asked.

"Well, you don't have as many powers as we did. In fact, the only power you showed was precognition, but it was subjective, as is the future." She said.

Alice leaned forward, "I-I can still see the future. It's still subjective, but I can still do it."

Bella nodded, "Not surprising you brought it over to your second life."

"So, we're sisters?" Alice grabbed Bella's hand, I could hear the happiness and hopefulness in her inner voice.

Bella's lip started quivering, "I know you don't remember, but I'm so sorry Mary. I knew I should've listened to my gut, but I thought I was doing the responsible thing. I thought I was doing the right thing," Bella looked down, shaking her head, "I was so wrong. And when I realized my mistake, it was too late. You were gone."

"What happened to me?" Alice asked, her eyes wide.

Bella took a deep breath, "Our mother sent you to live with an older couple. You were young, thirteen at the time and you didn't understand the dangers of your precognition. I was sent to Europe. I knew that you would tell the couple of the visions you would see. The couple became fearful of you. And when you were sixteen, they sent you to a crazy house. I tried to do everything in my power to get to you, but our mother forbade it. She said that as long as you were safe, it didn't matter where you were. I knew better though. I stupidly listened to our mother and allowed you to rot there. Every time we spoke, I could see the flicker of life inside of you fading. By the time I gathered enough courage to come rescue you, you were gone. The attendants at the crazy house told me you had runaway. I tried to find you with a locating spell, but I couldn't find you. I assumed you were dead."

Jasper had walked into the room and sat beside Alice, he put his arm around her. I noticed Bella's eyes narrowing at his loving gesture. I wondered if it was the protective older sister in her.

I placed my hand on Bella's shoulder. She shook it off and gave me a stern look. I placed my hand back into my lap. She didn't want my comforting.

Bella stood, straightening out her dress, "I think I'll be going now."

Bella started to walk to the foyer, but Alice quickly stood and grabbed her arm.

"Please don't leave," Alice begged, "I just found out a little piece of who I am. I need to know more."

"I don't think you understand how hard this is for me," Bella said.

"I know, but please," Alice said, "I've been in the dark so long. I have to know."

"I just can't," Bella snapped, "You have a life now with a new family."

"Please don't take offense," Jasper said as he stood, "We love Alice, and she is our family. My mate. But I know she's been in the dark for so long. Not knowing who she is has nearly killed her."

Bella's eyes narrowed, "I said no. I'm leaving now. I've had a long night and I don't feel like discussing this now."

"Another time then?" Alice said, her voice hopeful.

Bella bit the inside of her cheek; I could tell she was resisting the urge to snap. She sighed annoyedly.

"Fine. Another time."

"You promise?"

"Yes I promise!" Bella finally snapped before disappearing.

"Whoa," Alice said as she stared at where Bella was previously standing, "Where'd she go?"

"It's a witch thing. It's pretty cool." I said.

Bella's POV

I shouldn't have gotten so angry and teleported so quickly. Now I was suffering. I hadn't clearly thought about where I was going, and I was now laying in the woods somewhere with a massive body ache.

"Shit," I muttered.

I heard rustling behind me. I looked behind me, but I didn't see anything. I could see the light of a house nearby. Hopefully no one saw me just appear out of thin air. But honestly, I didn't really care right now. It was probably just some kid.

Once my body aches went away, I stood, looking around the area. I was still in Forks, but I wasn't anywhere near Charlie's house. I groaned; I'd have to teleport again.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, imagining Charlie's living room. After a few moments, I was back in the living room. I fell down on the ground, my body now severely in pain. I had pushed it too far tonight.

Charlie, who had been sleeping on the chair, was awakened by the sound of me falling against the ground.

"Bella!" He jumped to my side, his hands on my arm to steady me.

"I'm okay," I said, "I just pushed it a little too far."

"Do you need anything?" He asked.

"Upstairs, in the wooden box under my bed, there's a vile of green liquid. Could you get it for me please?"

He ran upstairs. I could hear him rustling around in my room. Finally he ran downstairs and handed me the vile. I opened it and drank a mouthful of it, ignoring the nasty taste.

My body aches suddenly disappeared. I sighed in relief.

"I'm going to go to bed now. I won't be in school tomorrow, could you call the school and tell them I won't be there."

"Of course, do you need help getting upstairs?"

"No but thank you. I'm okay."

I slowly walked upstairs and crawled into my bed, letting sleep overcome me.

Third-Person POV

Across town, a young boy ran into his home. He ran into the living room where his father was sitting and reading the newspaper.

"Dad, guess what I saw in the woods?" The little boy said.

"I told you it's too dark to go into those woods," The father snapped.

"But dad, I saw a woman appear and then disappear."

The father put his paper down, "What did you see?"

"I was playing in the woods and then suddenly, a woman dropped from the air and fell onto the ground! She sat there for a minute and then disappeared again."

"What did the woman look like?"

"She had long brown hair and she was skinny."

"You didn't see anything else that would help identify her?"

"No, it was too dark."

The man nodded then patted the boys head, "Well my boy, I think we might have a witch in Forks."

"But there haven't been witches in Forks for a long time."

"I guess they're back." The man stood, "I need to go make a phone call."

"Are you going to have a witch hunt dad?"

"I won't be hunting the witch, but I know someone who can hunt her and not get hurt."

"Can I help?"

"Maybe, son. Now go on up to bed."

The little boy nodded and ran up the stairs to his bedroom. The man walked into the kitchen and grabbed the receiver. He dialed a number; it rang several times before the person finally picked up.

"Hello?"

"Hello, it's Father Dean."

"And why are you calling me?"

"I believe there are witches in Forks."

"Witches in Forks? There haven't been witches in Forks for a couple centuries. They wouldn't be dumb enough to return."

"I believe it's only one. My son saw her teleporting."

"Isn't your son just a child?"

"He is, but he wouldn't lie about something like this."

"Did the boy have a description of her?"

"Yes, but not a very good one."

The man on the other lined sighed in annoyance, "Well tell me."

"All he saw was that she had long brown hair and was very skinny."

"Hmm, well maybe I'll take a little stroll down to Forks."

"Thank you. I need to protect my son."

"You're right to do so. Witches are monstrous creatures. Crimes against God. I will be there soon."

"Thank you, sir. We will be eagerly awaiting your arrival."
