AN: Chapter six is here! I am glad that you guys are sticking with me, haha. Thank you to SilverLight70 and Red-Hot Habanero for reviewing! The reactions to Shoko being missing will be a little later on. Also, I am curious from you guys: Because I'm a mean writer, I'm thinking of having one of Todoroki's classmates have a thing for her. Is there anyone specific you guys ship the character with? I have a few ideas (both heterosexual and homosexual, love is love), but I'd like to get you guys' input on this! This also takes place right after the sports festival, so keep that in mind haha.

Shoko had remained in the room when Dabi had to leave. Nobody had entered the room, but Shoko felt the need to walk around. The room, though it had never been like a prison cell, began to feel like one knowing that Shigaraki now had so much control over her. After more rummaging around the storage room, Dabi had found some books for her to read during the meeting. Shoko didn't know how long it would be, and was now in the middle of Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle.

Every once in a while, Shoko would glance up from her book and towards the door. She tried to keep her thoughts from drifting to the attack, or her own future. She knew she would probably get hurt, and hoped she could say the right things that would keep her alive. She recalled her brother's words about not making Shigaraki bored or challenging him. She knew the term 'manchild' was applicable there.

The door opened and Shoko looked up. To her relief, it was just Dabi, who walked over and sat on the edge of the bed beside her. Shoko moved a little closer, setting Cat's Cradle to the side after marking her place. He reached to place his arm around her shoulders.

"... It looks like a few of the others are being sent out," Dabi said, holding her close but trying not to put a lot of pressure on her injuries, "He's... Letting me take care of you for now, but I know for a fact that he's fucking with us."

"What happened?" Shoko asked, remaining close.

"He pulled me aside after the meeting. The way he was talking... He was making it clear that he'll hurt you if I cause problems for him," Dabi said, "I'm not used to someone having this much leverage against me." He admitted, moving his hand over the undamaged part of her upper arm, "Unfortunately, I don't see a way where we can hide from both him and the pro heroes."

"... I can handle a lot," Shoko said, looking towards her brother. Her hand reached to cover his. It felt odd, since they hadn't really been raised as siblings. She didn't know much about him, yet she still felt a strange connection to him, "I can take hits. Remember who I grew up with."

"You're not invincible. You shouldn't have to be," He said, meeting her eyes for a moment before he glanced away, "I... Can't keep my promise to protect you and I hate it."

Shoko kept quiet for a few moments. She wondered what Dabi's life had been like after he'd run. She recalled the few memories she had of them together, before she'd been forced away from her siblings. He had been too young to protect her then. She'd grown up with no one able to defend her. She'd gotten used to it. She felt even more afraid now. Her father, she knew, though he had hurt her and forced her, she wouldn't have been killed. She knew that Shigaraki would kill her if he felt like it.

"I'm going to be ok," Shoko said, though she was trying to tell herself as well. Dabi's arm tightened around her for a moment, "I don't like the situation, but that doesn't mean I can't handle it. He wants a student, I'll go along with it until I can find a way out."

Dabi held Shoko's hand as the two of them left the room. Shoko didn't know a thing about where they were, other than the small storage room where she'd been residing. Dabi had given her a hooded jacket to wear, so that people wouldn't notice her when they went outside. Though her body hurt, the two of them had agreed that taking the pain meds wasn't a good idea given their current position. Shoko walked slower than normal, trying not to aggravate her wounds as she walked. The building was dingy, like the space she'd been sleeping in, and there didn't seem to be many people around. Dabi had shown her where the bathroom was, which thankfully had a shower.

They soon reached the end of a hallway. Dabi opened the door, and they seemed to be in a bar area.

"Looks like nobody's around," Dabi said before leading her over to another door, "We can't go far, but... Hopefully some fresh air will do us both some good."

"Where is this place?" Shoko asked.

"Yokohama prefecture. You passed out pretty far away, but... Well, I couldn't exactly take you to a hospital." Dabi opened the door. The bright light hurt Shoko's eyes for a moment, but she felt better as she breathed in the outside air. She pulled the hood a little lower over her face as they walked outside. It seemed that they had been inside an abandoned bar.

"... Do you live around here?"

"Didn't have a place before I joined the League. I used to sleep in that storage area before I found you," He said, walking with Shoko. Though the area was fairly deserted, he kept glancing as they walked around. He would look at Shoko every once in a while to make sure she wasn't in too much pain, "And I don't mind sleeping on the floor. I've slept in much more uncomfortable places."

"You can share the bed with me," Shoko said, "We're siblings, so it's not a problem." She lowered her voice at the last sentence, knowing that Dabi was already not in a great position, and revealing their relationship to anyone could be a problem.

Dabi looked at her, and seemed to consider for a moment before he gave a nod. However, he seemed to have hesitated for a moment. He squeezed her hand, then spoke up, "Are you sure you're ok with that?"

"Yes. That's why I said it."

"I don't want you to wake up with a strange man in bed with you and be afraid."

"It won't happen."

Dabi didn't push the issue any further as they walked around. Shoko couldn't help noticing how abandoned the place looked. There didn't seem to be much close by. Shoko knew that if Shigaraki decided he wanted to kill her, there wasn't anywhere to run away to. She wouldn't be able to escape from a bad situation again.

Shoko moved a little closer to Dabi, and he didn't step away from her. Though she had been unable to rely on anyone in the past, a part of her wanted to be able to. She was in unfamiliar territory, with another psychopath who had power over her. She didn't want things to repeat, but she was afraid that they could.

"Can we go back inside?" Shoko asked, though they hadn't been out long. Her body was starting to hurt, in more places than just the burns. She wasn't used to being so easily out of commission, "I feel tired."

Dabi nodded, and before Shoko could say anything he picked her up princess style. She looked up at him as he began to carry her back towards the abandoned bar.

"I can walk." Shoko said, though she didn't struggle. Getting dropped wasn't appealing to her.

"You said you were tired," He said with a playful smirk, "So I'm carrying you."

"You don't have to."

"But I want to. It's been years since I saw you last, and we have to make up for lost time somehow."
