Ok, I know the last couple of chapters have been really short so I thought I should make it up to you with a longer chapter.

Chapter 6 – The Night Out

When Bella got home from the hospital at 6 that night, after Charlie had insisted that she went home and got some rest, even though she wasn't even tired anymore. She supposes that was a good thing because when she got in she found Alice and Rose in her living comparing clothes.

'Hey you guys, what're you doing?' Even though Bella had a good idea what.

'Oh, we're just putting out what your gonna wear tonight.' Said Alice. That was what she worried.

'And before you argue, you do need a night out. You've been worrying about your dad too much. You just need a night to forget everything.' Said Rose. Bella thought before she answered.

'You know, I think that's a good idea. Plus, I'm full of energy at the moment.'

Alice and Rose both looked shocked for a moment before Alice said 'Great! Now go put these on!' She through her a simple spaghetti strap black dress that went down to the knee with simple black heels. Without even a complaint, Bella went to get changed.

When she came out they did her hair an make-up, all got changed and all five went downstairs.

'So, where are we going?' Bella asked.

'It's just this little club a few blocks away called Ice. It's supposed to be really good.' Said Jasper, whilst holding onto Alice's hand. See this is why she felt left out. Alice and Jasper were holding hands, Emmett has his arm around Rose and Bella was standing on her own. She didn't expect them not to hold hands and have their arms around each other because that wasn't fair. They had every right to do that, they were all in love. She shook the thoughts out of her mind as they all got into Jaspers Land Rover, Alice in the front while Bella, Emmett and Rose were in the back.

'I really don't understand this. How come the smallest person gets the sit in the front?' Whined Emmett.

'Well, it's all about knowing the right people.' Replied Alice before she kissed Jasper.

The night rolled on from there. After a few drinks they found themselves on the dance floor. The only sober ones by this point were Jasper, because he was driving and Bella, because she was never much of a drinker. They all danced in a group, moving to the beat when a slow song came on. Rose and Emmett automatically grabbing each other and dancing off somewhere, to drunk to know what they were doing. However, Jasper, Alice and Bella stood there looking awkward.

'Don't worry you guys, you have this dance, I'm going to go sit at the table.' Said Bella.

'No-' Alice started.

'Really, its fine, I'm a little tired actually,' Bella interrupted.

When walking back to their table, she looked over her shoulder at her 4 best friends. All night the same feeling had been coming to her, guilt. She felt like she was getting in the way, getting between them. Especially Alice and Jasper. Making a quick decision she went over to Jasper and Alice, who were now embracing each other, rocking slowly.

'You guys, I think I'm just gonna take off.'

'Oh, well let us just go find Rose and Emmett-' Jasper started.

'No, you guys stay, you're having a good time. I'll catch a cab home.'

After a few more minutes of discussion Bella finally left the club alone. She didn't really feel like going home now so she went for a walk in the park she new was nearby. She must have walked for nearly an hour, but she didn't realise because her guilty thoughts distracted her. After a while she saw the big gates of the entrance, when she walked out them she realised that there must have been 2 entrances to the park because the way she came out was not familiar, in fact she had never seen it before. Walking down the empty dark roads she started to wish she had bought her phone. Looking behind her she saw a dark figure walking up the road behind her. Quickening her pace, she read every road sign and street name as she passed, still none sounded familiar. It seems she must have fazed out to the outside world when she was deep in thought because the next things she new a hand covered over her mouth, preventing her from screaming. As someone shoved her against a near wall.

Hard!

Bella attempted to scream, struggled, do anything to get away, but the figure who was holding against her the wall was stronger and bigger then her.

Attempting another scream that failed she felt the persons hand slide from her bare shoulder, skimming her right breast and down to her thigh. Repeating the motion several times.

Pausing in shock she looked up at the figure. She only noticed obvious details.

Male.

Tall.

Dark Haired.

Bella desperately shoved against him. To get away. Then a thought struck her. Her pepper spray. Trying to reach for her bag that had landed on the floor. She couldn't. He had squashed himself against her. As his hands roamed her body, his mouth moved across her shoulder. Bella screamed out. He had bit her! Taking her chance now, she stamped her heel into his foot. Now he yelled out in pain. Thank god for high heels! Taking her chance, she reached for her bag. Fumbling for her pepper spray and aimed it right into his eyes. Falling to the floor, her attacker yelled out again. Bella immediately started to run.

She was free.

Almost.

A hand grabbed her foot. Slamming to the floor, she cried out. He pulled at her foot, growling in frustration. With her other foot she kicked him in the side of the head. He loosed his grip enough for her to manage to slip her foot out of her shoe he still had a good hold of. Getting up she tarred her shoe off her other foot and ran as fast as she could. Turning down several different roads, she ran until she could no longer. Out of breath she now had no bag (including money and her keys), shoes and her dress was ripped in several places. She had scraps down her knees, a bite mark on her neck and a cute lip. Looking round, she saw the road name. Instantly she thought Edward. When she was in hospital visiting Charlie, they got talking a lot and where they lived came up. He lived in the building directly in front of her. It looked amazing to say the least. Running up the steps, she pressed the button for number 58. Looking around, she checked the man hadn't followed her.

'Hello?' His groggy voice came through the speaker. Only then did she think of what time it must be.

'Edward?'

'Bella?' Instantly his voice lightened with excitement. 'What are you doing here at this time? Not meaning to sound ruin at all.'

'Ermm….can I come up please?' She asked nervously.

'Oh, of course.' He buzzed her in.

She went in and took the lift up to his floor. Apparently he lived in the pent house of the building! Coming to his door, she was half way through knocking when the door opened. Now, standing opposite her was Edward. In pajama bottoms. Just pajama bottoms! Bella's eyes immediately went to his spectacular chest. Perfect and chiseled. Now she understood why it felt hard when she ran into it that time at Starbucks.

'Oh my god! Bella! What happened?' Edward half yelled with worry. Pulling her into his apartment by her arm. It took her a moment to remember what had actually happened. He brought her down into his living room and set her down on his very comfy couch. Bella explained the whole story to him. From the guilty feelings that she felt to her running down the streets with no shoes. Watching his face, it changed from shock, to concern and then to anger.

'I'll kill him! Did you get a good look at him? You can report him.' He said.

'No, Just the outline of him basically. It's not enough to get him. Plus I'm fine now.' Bella said matter of factly.

'How are you so calm? You've just been attacked!' Edward asked.

'I dunno. I guess it just hasn't hit yet. Besides I feel safe here.'

Edwards face softened at that and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

'I'll get some antiseptic to clean your cuts.' He got up and walked into another room off to the side.

Bella took the time to look around the room. There were two black leather sofas, a plasma screen TV and a gorgeous fireplace with several pictures on top. One wall of the living room was entire glass, showing a breath taking view of the city lights. On the other side of the room was stunning, traditional black piano. Then Edward came out of, what she thought was, the kitchen with a bowl with liquid in, some cotton balls and some plasters. Kneeling down in front of her, he picked up a cotton ball, dipped it in the liquid and was just about to press it to her leg when he paused.

'This may sting a little.' He warned.

Pressing it to her leg, she released a hiss. Edward gave her an apologetic look.

'Sorry.'

'Don't worry about it. I should be used to it, the amount of times I fall over.' She replied.

Edward Chuckled.

About 10 minutes later he had cleaned all her cuts and was just putting the last plaster on her left knee.

'I'm sorry o bother you like this, Edward, especially at this tine of night. It's just I remember when you told me where you lived and I got kinda lost. I don't mean to be a burden or-'

'Bella' Edward interrupted in a warm, soft tone. 'You could never be a burden, ok? And you're always welcome here no matter what time if day or night it is.' By this time he had moved onto the couch next to her.

'Thank-you.' Bella replied in a hushed tone. Both staring into each others eyes, just like they had in Starbucks and a couple of times in the hospital. But there were no distractions this time.

'Your welcome.'

Edward moved his hand up to the side of her face. Both moved slowly towards each other. Closing their eyes, waiting for their lips to touch. Inching closer and closer. Soft and warm, each others lips were foreign yet familiar to one another. Something they had both expected when kissing the other and more. Bella moved her hands around Edwards neck and their passionate yet gentle kiss proceeded. Edwards hands went down her back and to her waist, bringing her closer, until she was pressed against him. Regretfully pulling back for air, they both had bright smiles on their faces.

'You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that.' Edward said gleefully.

'I think I have some idea.' Bella giggled. They pecked each others lips again.

'Now, I don't really want to move like…ever from here, but you must be getting tired and there's no way your going out into the streets again at this hour, so you can stay here.' Edward suggested.

'Well-'

'No, your staying here if you like it or not!' He interrupted.

'Ok, but I don't want to intrude.'

'As if you could.' He said giving her another breath taking kiss.

'But I don't have anything to wear. This wont be very comfortable to sleep in.' She said gesturing to her dress.

'Well I'm sure you can wear one of my t-shirts and some of my shorts, maybe?' He asked nervously, looking up at her through his lashes.

'That you be good, thanks.' Bella grinned back.

Edward jumped up and pulled her to a door by her hand. When he opened the door, she saw it was a master bedroom with an on suite. Fancy! The bed was a king size with ruffled, cushiony covers. This must have been where Edward was sleeping before she woke him. A pang of guilt ran through her. He went to a large set of draws, opened the second one down and picked out a pair of basket ball shorts and a white t-shirt.

'You can just change in the bathroom, through their.' He pointed to the on suite.

'Thanks.'

When she came out ready and changed Edward wasn't in the room, so she went out onto the living room. There she saw him setting up a make shift bed on his leather couch.

'Ermm, do you think I could phone my friends and let them know I'm ok? They're probably going nuts.'

'Oh, of course. Here.' He said handing her the phone.

She dialed Alice's number, she picked up on the first ring.

'Edward? What are you doing calling this late?' Alice's voice rang through the phone.

'How do you know Edward?' Bella asked confused.

'Bella? THANK GOD! WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?! WE'VE BEEN WORRIED SICK!' Alice shouted.

'I'm fine, but, wait-what? How do you know Edward?' Bella asked again.

'Edwards my brother, Bella. I new it was him that you bumped into in Starbucks. I just didn't know you were this close to him to stay round his apartment!' Alice said confused.

'WHAT?! YOUR EDWARD'S SISTER?! AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!?' Bella yelled in a high whiny voice, getting an odd look from Edward , who then started to chuckle.

'And anyways, I'm not doing what you think I'm doing here. But I'll explain tomorrow, Edwards sister.' Bella continued.

'Ok, Edwards girlfriend.' Alice laughed.

'Oh, shut up!' Bella giggled.

'Well, your not denying it-' At this point Bella just hung up.

Edward was standing in all his glory, staring at her.

'I'm guessing that was Alice.' Bella nodded. 'How do you know my sister?' He asked.

'She's one of my best friends. I didn't realise that her doctor brother was in fact you. In my defense, you look nothing alike!' Bella replied.

'Small world.' Edward said matter of factly.

'Ha, you can say that again.' Bella said while Edward chuckled.

'So, this was a 2 bed apartment until I changed the guest room into a study, so there's only one bedroom. You can sleep in the bedroom and I'll sleep on the couch.' Edward said.

'No, I should be sleeping on the couch, this is your apartment.' Bella argued.

'Exactly, so what I say goes! Now come on, bedtime.' He said while leading her to his bedroom.

'But-'

'No buts, to bed, it's late, or early.' Edward interrupted.

Bella sat on his bed.

'Goodnight.' He turned to leave.

'Edward' Bella jumped suddenly. He turned to face her again.

'Will you……can you………do you think you could stay with me tonight?' she asked nervously. 'I'm still a little freaked by that guy.'

Edward looked at her sympathetically.

'Of course I will. I wont let anyone harm you.' He said gently.

He got into bed next to her and she moved over into his protective arms. His chest was lovely and warm, he kissed her on the forehead before saying good night again. Calming her instantly. She fell asleep immediately. Being met with dreams that were happy and warm and involved Edward of course.
