A few months later~
The door of the tea shop opened and inside stepped a small orange alien. He sat down at one of the tables and waited patiently for the friend he was visiting that day. He drummed his fingers on the table's surface, happily humming an uplifting tune. A few moments later a figure holding a tray came out. She set the tray on the table. The tray had a tea pot, two tea cups, and a little jar or honey with a spoon in it.
Vorene smiled. "Wander. So good of you to come and visit."
Wander tipped his hat in a polite manner. "Vorene! So nice to see you again! I'm sorry I couldn't have visited sooner, I've been really busy."
Vorene waved a dismissive hand. "It's no problem. I'm just happy that you're hear." She took a seat and poured the tea into the cups. She handed one to him and offered him the honey, which he accepted and took two spoonful's from the jar and stirred it in his tea. "Is Sylvia here with you?"
"Yep! She's across the street shopping. So, how is everything around here?" Wander asked.
"Everything is fine. I've recently hired a helper for the store."
"A helper, huh? Who is it?"
"Her name is Dee. She's in the kitchen now sweeping the floor."
"Dee?"
"Yes. She's here because of an agreement between her and her parents. A few months ago she came here to this shop as a complete wreck, had some tea and talked with me, then left, then immediately came back, then stayed the night, and then asked me to go with her back to her home. She told me that she had run away because when she was lonely, her parents never had time for her and she felt lonely since she had no friends."
Wander sipped his tea. "Lonely, huh?"
"Yes. Very lonely. When we arrived at her house her and her parents broke out into a fight and she ran off. I found her and, after we talked for a bit, was able to convince her to set aside her pride and come home. The parents, Dee, and I all talked-there were many tears shed that night. The parents and I agreed that Dee should come and work for me at my shop, just until she decides what she wants to do with her life." She smiled. "She's only been here for a while and I think that she's been a really big help. Of course she still gets into fights, calls people names, and threatens to end her enemy's lives; but I do see some improvement in her attitude and behavior, though it's just a little bit. Why, just the other day I caught a glimpse of her playing peek-a-boo with one of the customer's kids-of course, she completely denied the whole thing. It will take some time, but I believe that she can do some good, despite her past misdeeds. From the moment we met I knew that she had the capability to change-just like I say about all the people I help. After all, an enemy is just a friend you haven't made yet, right?"
Wander nodded. "Absolutely." He sipped his tea again then scratched his chin. "This, Dee, sounds very familiar to me. The Dee I know was an intergalactic villain bent on destroying the galaxy. But I knew that there was a reason for her being so mean and nasty. It turns out that, just like your Dee, she, too, was mean because she was lonely. Unfortunately, she took off and I don't know what happened to her. But I like to think that somewhere out in the stars, she's found a friend that she can depend on."
A warm smile filled Vorene's face. "I believe that your right."
Unbeknownst to them, while the two sipped their tea and chatted away, Dominator stood near the kitchen curtain eavesdropping on their entire conversation. As she went back to her sweeping the sound of "friend" kept repeating itself in her head.
For the first time in her life, a very small-but very genuine-smile formed on her face.
Wander over Yonder was a great show that was canceled in its prime. This story was a little thank-you letter for Craig McCracken and his crew. I'm sure that everyone out there has their theory and opinions about what happened to Dominator after the finale and this was mine. This story was a fun, short little story about Dominator getting a second chance after everything she's done-mercy: something I believe that all people can use.
I am grateful and thankful to all of you who have taken the time to read this short story. Thank you! It makes me happy to know that people like what I'm writing.

Now for a little surprise for you all: I am working on another WOY story! Plot? Picture this: Lord Hater and a little girl working together to conquer the galaxy.
Trust me-it's going to be hilarious and epic!
