For the hundreds of years she had been alive, it was only now that Alice questioned the mentalities of each and every one of the countries. (By extension herself, for how did she managed to survive all this craziness while still having what little of her sanity left?).
Here they were standing in front of the meeting room's double door, had been there for quite a while actually. None of them ever had the guts to open that intimidating door. From inside, the unmistakable and familiar ruckus that was always present on these meetings could be heard outside, and it made Alice a little nostalgic. Usually, by now, and basing from whatever argument it was the other nations where having, she would have already joined the fray.
Wait no. scratch that. Arthur would have joined the fray. And successfully dragging a few strands of Francis' hair too! Yet here was Alice, standing outside the room not only an hour late (which never happens, mind you, most especially on times like this where she was the host) but also has no plans on getting inside anytime soon. If this unfortunate circumstance never happened, Arthur would probably be already convulsing right at this very moment.
Beside her, she noticed her two companions slowly inching away from her and into wherever they intended to escape. She felt her eyebrow twitch in irritation.
"Where are you going?" she hissed, poisonous green eyes turned to her two companions who had a guilty look on their faces. The other two only nervously chuckled.
"I wanted to pee…" Matthia hesitantly answered her, biting her lower lip in uncertainly. She only raised an eyebrow in reply but it was already enough to get what she wanted across for the other blond frantically nodded. "It's true, honestly! It's because I'm too nervous right now."
She sighed before nodding, Matthia beamed at her in thanks before she hurriedly ran on the hallway towards where the rest rooms were.
She turned her gaze next to her albino friend, who flinched slightly and avoided her gaze. "And you? Where were you about to go?"
The Prussian sighed and pouted. "I was going to face the music."
Alice smirked. "Oho? And how come you were facing the wrong way? The meeting room's this way." She pointed at the plain door. Julchen scoffed at her and smirked.
"Wrong! The music room's on the other side of the building!"
She stared at the albino, unamused. "Really, Julchen, really?"
The other groaned at her. "Alright, alright!" the albino huffed and crossed her arms on her chest, pink lips turned into a pout. "You caught me. It may sound unawesome but I was about to run away."
She smiled sympathetically at her friend. Really, she's not the only one who wants to. Fuck this meeting – why now? Why now of all days? Damn, she swore she was never drinking again.
Well, not for another few years anyway. Hopefully – for she could never resist the temptation of that heavenly drink.
May God give her strength.
"Okay, I'm back." Matthia exclaimed, standing in between her and Julchen and stared at them with a smile. "What did I miss? You guys looked like you were having a serious conversation."
She only shook her head. "It's nothing really." The Dane pouted at her before turning to the Prussian, pressing the other for the answer – which the Albino was reluctant to give. Alice could only smirk.
She stared back at the meeting room's door and heaved a long suffering sigh. "Hey," both her companions turned to her, questioning. "We should probably go in. I could already hear Ludwig complaining where about our whereabouts and tardiness."
Matthia stared at the door in apprehension. "Are we really needed…? Maybe we could skip this?"
She gave the other an apologetic smile. God, if only they could. Then she would lock herself unto her magic room and try to undo the spell she drunkenly cast on them. She doubted it though, considering she had no idea what the spell was or how it even worked, but she had to try. Like she earlier mentioned, she would not allow herself to stay this way for a period longer than necessary. "You and Julchen probably. But I, on the other hand have to be here. I am the host after all."
The after mentioned woman grinned, and grasped the arm of their other blond friend. "You heard the woman, Matthia. We're not needed here." But before the Prussian could drag the Dane away, Alice held unto her arm.
"Oh no you're not!" she exclaimed, glaring at her two friends. "Remember the bet?"
The ex-Viking beamed. "Oh yeah! I almost forgot about that." the blond slapped an arm on her shoulder, laughing. "Thanks for reminding me!" and before she and the albino could comprehend, Matthia already opened the doors wide and turned back at them grinning. "See you inside then. Hope you guys already have a bar in mind."
And with those words, Matthia joyfully announced her presence and hurriedly sat on her place before anyone could react.
Which was instantaneous, by the way, all the nations inside silenced as they gaped at a grinning Matthia.
Both Julchen and she took this as their cue to go in.
"West!" the Prussian exclaimed, grinning at a rapidly paling Ludwig. She immediately frowned at the reaction she received from her precious little brother. "You better not faint! I raised you better than that!"
Unfortunately, the other did the opposite. And the loud thud of Ludwig's body hitting the floor echoed around the still silent room.
Matthia was first to react, laughing loudly as she gasped for air on her seat, ignoring the different stares the other Nordics were giving her. "Oh man, told you he'll faint! You guys owe me ten pints of beer!"
This managed to snap some of the nations out of their stupor, and Alfred cleared his throat, staring at the three newly arrived females in apprehension. "Uhhh… What is going on here?"
Alice sighed. This was going to be a long day.
