A/N: Okay! So. This… Is my inner sadist or something… I mean… Eli is afraid of the dark. There are many things that you can do with that. Make something romantic! Something scary! Or… Something really tragic. And my inner sadist has decided upon tragic. So this is a really short oneshot of Eli surviving an accident and going blind… I'm so going to hell for this. Also sorry this isn't the next major update, it literally popped into my head. So I'm writing about it. I am on my way to hell for even doing this. Geez I'm a horrible person. Anyways… On to the oneshot!
"How is she doctor?" I hobbled over to the doctor.
"I'm sorry, we tried our best. If she got here sooner, maybe we could have saved her..." The doctor told me solemnly.
Eli is dead? No way. This can't be happening. Why? Why her? Why do I deserve to live? Why doesn't she? Why did things turn out like this? It was just a harmless walk at night. How am I supposed to answer to her family? To everyone? That irresponsible jerk of a driver…
"Am I allowed to go see her body?" Words came out of my mouth. Was this even real life anymore? This had to be some kind of devilish nightmare. It had to be.
"You can check on her if you wish. But she hasn't woken up yet so I'd ask that you not disturb her rest." The doctor nodded at me.
"Thanks doc- Wait. What do you mean?" How does someone who has died even wake up anymore?
"Pardon? I mean she's still sleeping so try not to wake her up." The doctor repeated his instructions.
"Wait, she isn't dead?" Then what the heck was the doctor talking about?
"Dead? Oh! Apologies! We couldn't save her eyesight. That's what I meant to say earlier." The doctor looked awkwardly at me.
"So she's blind now?" Eli isn't dead… She's still alive!
"I believe I did just say that. But your friend aside, shouldn't you be resting as well?" The doctor looked at me with an reproaching stare.
"I just want to check on my friend first." I had to see Eli.
"Alright, but make it quick. Your recovery will take longer if you don't rest enough." The doctor left me to go check on Eli.
I sat in the chair beside the hospital bed she was resting in. I heaved a sigh of relief as I noticed her chest expanding and contracting in accordance to her breaths. She was definitely alive.
"Is anyone there?" I heard a very familiar voice.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" The voice was very close.
"Can somebody switch on the lights? Please?" Wait, this is Eli's voice.
I jerked awake. I must have fell asleep while watching Eli last night.
"I'm here Eli." I quickly shook myself more awake.
"Ijiu? Could you switch on the lights?" Eli's voice was trembling slightly.
"Eli…" I wasn't sure how to break it to her.
"Ijiu? Please? Could you switch on the lights?" Eli was visibly shaking now.
"They already are Eli. You… lost your sight in the accident…" I couldn't face her.
"I… lost my vision? Ijiu, stop joking around and switch the lights on please!" Eli was freaking out.
"I wish I was Eli… I'm so sorry..." I grabbed her hands. Tears started trickling down my cheek.
"Ijiu…" Eli's voice sounded very distressed.
"I'm so sorry!" I blurted out in tears.
I could feel my hands getting wet. I still couldn't bring myself to look Eli in the eyes. Even though she couldn't even see me.
"Ijiu… Please… Switch the lights on… I'm scared…" Eli was begging in tears now.
"I'm so sorry Eli!" I couldn't stop my tears as they poured out full force.
"Please! Ijiu!" Eli's grip around hands tightened.
"I'm so sorry…" The tears were now a mix of physical and emotional pain.
"I'm scared, Ijiu…" Eli cried out softly.
"I'm right here, Eli… I'm not going anywhere..." I held her hands a little tighter.
A/N: Okay… I'm not going any further… That's as far as my inner sadist gets to go. Alright. Please don't kill me guys. Next big update is coming soon… Within the year… Maybe… Sorry!
