I don't know if I took long because I have almost literally stuffed myself with Easter eggs and candy! XD Through all the hustle and bustle of the holiday I wrote. So heeeerrrreee it is! (See, all that chocolate made me hyper.)

First Time in Forever

I awoke in a cage, and it was very dark. There was a weird echoing. "Dear Victoria, I told you that you wouldn't escape. And now Jack isn't here to save you!" The voice said. 'What's he got to do with this?' I thought. "By the time he finds you, it will be too late!" Then I felt something wrapping around me, it felt like sand, but it was black. "You'll be my little puppet!" I tried to scream but my voice was gone. My eyesight was starting to blur and fade. I knew I could not escape now...

"Get me out!" I shouted and got such a fright that I fell out of bed and onto the hardwood floor of my bedroom. I rubbed my forehead while panting. I felt the back of my neck, it was wet. I let out a heavy sigh, part nervousness and part relief. Suddenly Bev burst into my room. "What the hell, Tori?" She ran over to me. "It was just a nightmare." I said, all frazzled out. "Geez maybe you should come downstairs. I'll make us some coffee."She said with a concerned look. "Ok." She helped me up and we walked downstairs.

I went to sit on one of the bar chairs by the counter while Bev switched on the coffee machine. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes while trying to figure out what my nightmare meant. 'What did he mean by puppet? What has Jack got to do with this? Why is he after me?' "Earth to Tori! Hello, spaced-out huh?" Bev's voice pulled me back to the present. "Sorry, my nightmare is just haunting me a bit." I said. She handed me a warm cup of black coffee. "You could talk it out you know, that's what sisters are for." She said. I smiled. "Thanks Bev. Thing is, the nightmare was weird and it doesn't really make any sense to me." I looked down at the cup in my hands. "I've also had many weird dreams and nightmares in my life. C'mon." Either she was really curious or really caring. "Well, I...no I can't tell you, it's complicated." I put my cup on the table and went upstairs. "Sorry Bev."

I really didn't feel like having Bev on my case if she knew, so I left it there. I opened my bedroom door and walked over to the balcony. The windows were once again covered with intricate frost. But it felt different. Sounds weird coming from someone who's only felt it for the second time now. I still wondered if that wonderful snow day was just a dream. I opened the window and walked out onto the balcony. It was cold, which was nothing out of the ordinary. The sky was clear and blue, in short, it was a beautiful winter's day. I ran back inside to get some clothes. I wore my turquoise blue jeggings, white polo-neck and...ugh I still don't have new boots. I'll ask mom to get me boots today. Or maybe I should go myself. I was busy brushing my hair in my dresser's mirror when I heard something.

A squeaking sound.

I looked at the balcony windows with narrowed eyes. Something was being written on the window pane!

'Meet me at the park. I've got a surprise for you. Jack Frost.'

"So it wasn't a dream! Oh my gosh I gotta get there asap!" I shouted and made a mad dash downstairs. I saw my mom in the kitchen. "Mom, I still don't have a decent pair of boots." She gave me a stern look. "Greet properly or I'm changing your punishment to being grounded for the rest of the holiday." "Sorry. Morning mom. I realise I'm still in the dog-box about yesterday but I kinda need some bucks for new boots." I said sheepishly. "Well you're in luck Tori, I bought black boots for you yesterday but because you acted so recklessly I suppose I'm going to have to give them to Beverley." She said. I widened my eyes. "But mom she already has so many pairs of shoes." I whined, but it was true. "Ok then, finish the task I gave you then you can put the boots on and go outside." She said. "Ok where's the mop?"

I spent the next 20 minutes mopping the hardwood floor of the living room and the kitchen!

As soon as I knew I was off the hook I grabbed the shopping bag from the counter and took out the shoebox. I opened it to reveal a beautiful pair of black knee-high leather boots. I grinned. "Thanks mom." I put them on immediately and they were obviously a perfect fit. I quickly got my dark brown coat and grey beanie cap and ran outside. I took in a deep breath of the crisp winter air and looked at the winter wonderland before me. Frost on the grass, children playing in the snow, it was just so different from Florida. It was always just going to the beach and swimming and playing in the sand until sunset. I smiled wide and started making my way towards the park.

Just before I got there I spotted Jamie and Sophie playing in their front yard. Well, at least now I know where they live. "Hey Tori!" They called out to me. I waved and walked over. "Hey guys. How are doing?" "We're doing great. What you been doin'?" Jamie asked me. "Nothing much, Jack just called me to the park." I felt a little giddy at that thought. "Cool, you guys sure had a lot of fun yesterday." He gave me 'that look.' "Uh yeah we did. Anyway I have to get going, got a lot of things to do. It was nice seeing you guys again. Bye!" I blushed as I walked away. It sounded weird hearing something like that from a thirteen year old.

I arrived at the park a couple minutes later. I started looking for Jack. He was nowhere to be seen. "Jack? Where are you? I'm here! This better not be a prank!" I called out. A few people were looking at me as if I was crazy. There was a sudden gust of wind that nearly swept me off my feet. "Whoa!" Then something actually caused my feet to slip from under me and I landed back first into the snow. "Jackson Overland Frost!" I yelled, still sitting in the snow like a child.

He then flew down before me and held out his hand.

"You're late." He said as he helped me up. "Well, you weren't given a punishment task for arriving home late with your nine year old little brother were you?" I smirked playfully. "We were having fun weren't we?" He rubbed the back of his head and grinned. He looked so cute when he did that. "Yeah." I looked into his eyes. I could easily get lost in those blue orbs. "So what'd you call me here for?" I asked, composing myself. "I am going to show you something you haven't done before." I gave him a quizzical look. "What?" He grabbed my hand and we lifted into air. I got a huge fright. "Jack! What are you doing!? Where are we going!?" I screamed holding onto him for dear life. "Don't worry, we're going to have some serious fun. Promise!" He said and we started soaring with the wind.

A few adrenaline pumping minutes later we landed on a hill. "What are we doing here?" I asked him, looking at the surroundings. It was quite steep. "I'm going to show you how to...wait. Do you know what this is?" He asked showing me a weird looking board that looked kinda like a giant ice skate. "I think it's called a...uh a sled. Right?" I tapped my index finger on my chin. "Yep. And I'm going to show you how to ride it!" He said excitedly. I was a little unsure about this. "I don't know, Jack. It looks a bit dangerous and I already have bruises from ice skating yesterday." I tried to worm myself out of doing it. Jack chuckled. "Are you scared?" "Pfft what? No." I pouted. "Well then, get on." He tried to usher me to sit. "Ugh fine." I sat crossed-legged on the sled. "Now don't get a fright if you suddenly start plummeting towards lower ground, okay." He smiled. I nodded, whimpering slightly. "And, keep your pretty eyes open okay?" He said. I opened my eyes wide. "Huh?" I was lost in my fear for what was going to happen next. "Nothing. Here we go!" He conjured up ice and I went almost flying. "Wooooooo! This is awesome!" I whooped while laughing. The world was going by at lightning speed. I suddenly gasped.

"J-Jack! There's a tree!" I screamed.

I covered my eyes with my hands and hoped for the worst. Jack then made me swerve to the left just before impact. I sighed hard in relief as I came to a gradual standstill. "Jack Frost, one day you're going to get me killed!" I shouted at him getting off the sled. "Wasn't that fun?" He asked still smiling bright as ever. I felt a grin pulling at my lip. I burst out laughing. "It was amazing! That speed, that adrenaline! I loved it!" Jack landed softly on the ground. "I told you it'd be fun. And I know you don't really have bruises from ice skating." He tilted his head to the side and smirked. "Okay guilty as charged. Arrest me officer." I laughed. You know that actually sounded pretty wrong. Hey would you stop that? Just make a simple move, a small one. "Shut up you idiot!" I muttered under my breath. My damn mind was going crazy.

"Wanna take a walk?"

I looked up at Jack. 'Wasn't that supposed to come from my mouth?' Just a walk y'know. Chat and share you personal feelings. "What?" I asked him just to make sure I was still sane. "Do you wanna take a walk with me?" He asked. 'With me.' You know how sweet that sounds? "Shut up." I muttered again. "Uh you ok, Tori?" He snapped his fingers in front of my face. "Yeah sorry. I just spaced out again." I said, hoping he didn't notice me having some weird mental argument. "C'mon. Let's take that walk." I smiled and started walking. He shook his head and followed me.

A few minutes into the walk my conscience's words were starting to bother me. So I decided to start a simple conversation. "Jack I never actually got to ask you, how long have you been in this world?" I asked him. "300 years. Probably more." He said. I honestly could not believe it. "What? How do you live for more than 300 years? I'd have gone insane after like a decade or less." He chuckled. "Well I am a winter spirit so I bring winter. That mostly keeps me busy." My curiosity kept growing. "And other times? Did you talk to kids, play with them?" He suddenly frowned. "For all those hundreds of years I've spent here I hardly spoke to anyone. Because they could not see or hear me." I gasped slightly. "I'm so sorry. It must've been terrible." I put my hand on his shoulder. "It was. Almost every night I would look up at the moon and ask him why I was unable to communicate with people. And he didn't answer me for 300 years." He looked down at the ground sadly. I could feel tears welling up in the corners of my eyes, but I kept them back. "Did he ever answer you?"

"It's quite a story actually."

"Care to tell? I love stories." I said. He smiled a little. "Okay."

So Jack started telling me about his time with Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and the Sandman who were the Guardians of Childhood. The crazy adventure that they had when they had to fight against Pitch Black who apparently is the Boogeyman. He told me all about how they collected teeth from all over the world, and had to go back around it because they forgot to leave the gifts! It was so funny. He told me about their first fight against Pitch when he killed the Sandman. Which saddened me a little. When they went to the Easter Bunny's Warren the day before. How the Boogeyman's Nightmares crushed all the eggs and jeopardised Easter and blamed him for it because he got a tooth box which contained his childhood memories. So he flew off to Antarctica. Children were losing their belief and the Guardians were losing their strength. He had crossed swords with Pitch again and Pitch broke his staff. I could only imagine the pain he went through. Then he discovered his memories and found out that he had a family! He died in a lake saving his sister's life. I nearly started crying. He returned to the other Guardians and found out that Jamie was the last believer left! The last light, he said. He made it snow in Jamie's room and he became his first believer! And with the help of all his friends gaining their belief back they defeated Pitch!

"So Jamie was your very first believer?" I asked him, completely blown away by this whole thing. "Yeah. And he hasn't stopped for the last 3 years." He beamed. "Wow!" I squealed slightly. "I'm kinda surprised that you, a seventeen year old girl, still believe." He said. "Well, people have mentioned that I have a really vivid imagination. Especially my sister." I said, sticking my hands in my coat's pockets. "Hey speaking of which, you haven't told me that much about yourself." He told me. Wow he actually wants to know more? C'mon you stupid idiot. Tell him! "It's not nearly as interesting as your story." I said shyly. "C'mon, you're already making me curious." He said. I gave in.

"Okay, I'll start right from the beginning."

"I was born on the 5th of July near West Palm Beach, Florida. Yeah I'm a summer baby." Jack chuckled at this. "I had quite a happy childhood. Bev was a year older than me. We were quite a happy family. When I was eight years old Charlie was born. And I said goodbye to being the baby sibling." I smiled. "My mom was and still is the COO of a rich company, so we're pretty well off. My dad was a psychologist." I paused. I walked over to a nearby bench and sat on it. "Are you alright, Tori?" Jack looked at me with concern in his eyes. "Yeah I'm fine." I assured him. I continued.

One day, our whole family went to the beach. We were having a great day. We were all in the water. Then the sky got all cloudy, the wind started blowing like crazy. "Beverley? What's happening?" I started getting really scared. "We've been hit by a storm! We have to get out!" She grabbed my hand and we started swimming to shore to get to the emergency evacuation area. The waves were getting bigger and stronger. I saw mom trying to swim back with Charlie in her arms. Dad was helping her swim back. Suddenly there was a bright strike of lightning and a huge wave swept us all back to shore. I thought we were alright but something wasn't right. "Mom, where's dad?" I asked her. I looked down at my feet and saw dad's favourite leather watch in the wet sand. I immediately started sobbing. Mom and Bev gasped. I ran to both of them for comfort. Charlie started crying.

Dad was gone.

I put my face in my hands, this time I couldn't hold back. "T-that was t-the worst d-day of my entire life!" I sobbed. Jack sat down beside me and let me lay my head on his chest. "I'm so sorry." I could hear sadness in his voice. "It's okay. Life's a bit better now. It's been years since then." I stood up and wiped away my drying tears. "Jack I think..." I flailed a little. "Woah! Yeah you need to get home." He caught me by my waist. I blushed madly even though I was a bit dizzy. "I-I don't want to be a nuisance, Jack." I said. He then picked me up bridal style and we lifted into the sky. My temperature was shooting up. My cheeks went cherry red.

A few minutes later we landed on my bedroom balcony was he gently put me down. Turns out I had hooked my arms around his neck again. I'm an idiot. "Uh thanks for bringing me home, again." I said with a quirky smile. "I had to make sure would be okay." He said. I leaned foreward and gave him a hug.

And a peck on his cheek.

He touched the area and said. "I'll see you tomorrow then." I could see a tint of red on his face. "Count on it." I smiled. He jumped off the balcony and cheered as he flew through the clouds. I opened the glass door and walked into my room. I hugged myself and sighed. I quickly got my laptop and sent an email to Hailey.

Dear Hailey

I'm so sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you yesterday but I was tired! Man I had the best day. I learnt to ice skate, had snowball fights and built snowmen with Charlie and some of the kids here.

I have something else to tell you but I can't right now so call me tomorrow? I'll tell you every little detail, okay? Hope you're enjoying having your family over!

Your best friend, Tori

After I sent it I got my diary from my drawer.

Dear Diary

I swear today was either as great or better than yesterday. Jack had actually taught me how to use a sled! He told me about this crazy adventure that he had with the most famous childhood 'myths' though they're not myths. Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and the Sandman. Pitch Black who is the actual Boogeyman wanted to take over the children of the world through fear and nightmares. It was an amazing story and it involved Jamie, one of the kids who live like a block from here!

Eventually I had told Jack the story of my life. And how dad died when I was eleven years old. I was really sad but Jack cheered me up and he flew me home again. It was magical...There I go again but, well I gave him a kiss. Not actually a real one. I must be crazy but...ok I'm rambling again so I'll just go to sleep now.

Love, Tori

I giggled as I wrote the last part. It seemed very possible that I did kinda like Jack. But I'll leave it at that. I knew that mom was going to walk in here any time now so I changed into my pajamas and creeped into bed with a grin on my face.

Long, I know. It took me like 3 days to think this out. My brain hurts so damn bad! But if I get more reviews it would've been worth it ;-)
