Chapter 6: Always happens to me Lexi was scared and frightened couldn't see who had snatched her for the room was pitch black. Arms wrapped around her as she squirmed to get free but the person's grip got tighter. "L-let me…go!" She demanded when a hand covered her mouth. She tried to scream but it turned into a muffled cry for help. She soon realized that they were sitting on the ground. "Why so worried? I thought you were tough? Don't you remember?!" Said the person who captivated her. Lexi's eyes widened because that voice was so familiar the spirit of the Ring, the thief who wanted her to go with him. He took uncovered her mouth, "Ry- Ryota" Lexi gasped. "I'm starting to like that name." He said. She felt his arms around her pull her close and now Lexi could feel her body against his. "Why?" She whispered. "Hearing the terror in your voice when you said it made me feel powerful." "That soooooooooooo romantic." Lexi said sarcastically. But she began to blush when she noticed that her cheek was against his chest and that he had pulled her close. "Um… w-what are you going to do?" Lexi's voice trembled with fear. Bakura clenched her tighter as he whispered something in her ear, "oh it's just the beginning." Lexi closed her eyes once more trying to find out what she can possibly do to get away. How can I get free? He's frick'in clinging to me. To make matters worse I can't hurt him I might hurt Ryou in the process. Lexi thought, Wait I have a deep instinct that probably… won't work. But I'll have to trust myself. "Ryota," Lexi said romantically. "Do…," she looked at him, "you love me." She placed her hand on his cheek. He paused with eyes wide not quite sure what he should say exactly. In the confusion Lexi adjusted herself straightening and quickly leaned close, so close their lips were an inch away. Without a beginning they started to kiss Bakura's insane mad side. She ran her fingers through his long white hair with one hand and with the other she kept it on his cheek. The kiss continued, but this was no ordinary kiss. This kiss was a big sloppy kiss what her sisters would call 'making out'. Bakura's other half didn't know what could be sweeter Lexi with him now or, to him, the color of blood. A blinding golden light interrupted them. Lexi covered her eyes with her arm as she stood up. "Ryou?" Lexi tilted her head to get a better look. The light began to fade, disappearing into the millennium ring. Bakura looked exhausted with his eyes closed and his back against the wall. But as if waking up Bakura's eyelids fluttered when he opened them. Lexi smiled and happy to feel a weight lifted. She started to look for the light switch, but instead a beaded like chain tickled the top of her head. Lexi pulled it as the lights came on. "Lexi?" "Ryou!" "Why are we in a supply closet?" "Ha I did it. I'm awesome! Who's awesome? I am!" Bakura had a blank expression while Lexi went on feeling proud about herself for saving Bakura. "Could you answersome questions I'm having?"He interrupted. Lexi looked at him sitting against the wall imagining the darker side and that she had kissed him. She started to blush, "Um… we were ah…" Lexi trailed off in a murmur. "What, I couldn't hear you." He said confused. Lexi stopped and looked at him with her eyes darting searching for an excuse. "You hit your head," "… What happened before that? And how did I hit my head?" "I don't know." "Why not?" "Because, "But how-" "Bubasha," Lexi yelled opening the closet. "You didn't-" she interrupted him, "Bubasha!" Bakura smiled even though he was confused but then he thought to himself while they walked through the hallways going home. I'm still curious to why I woke up in that closet… wait why was I there? I'm fine really but the part that stumps me the most is that she was there with me! His face turned red, a drop of sweat trickled down his face and he began to turn his head to ask, "At least tell me this," Lexi opened her mouth but Bakura put his hand in front of her letting her know that it would be alright. "Did anything you know… happen between us?" Lexi looked at him as her cheeks went a rosy color. "Nope, nope, nope nothing. Nothing at all!" She looked away for she could still feel the sensation of his darker side linger on her lips. Her heart raced when she looked back at him because in his eyes she saw darkness. But in that darkness was the man who made it that way the very same man she had kissed. "Lexi is someth-" "Bubashaaaaa!" She cradled herself with her arms starting to wonder, do I like him? No, what kinda question is that? I don't like him, but that doesn't explain why every time I look at Ryou, ever since I kissed the evil him, I see both him and him. He isn't part of Ryou… well he kinda is but Ryou isn't like him and he isn't like Ryou. I'm so confused, was all because of that kiss? I wish someone could help me. Wait someone can help. I need to summon Chiko so he can help me figure this out. She was staring into his eyes when he had noticed. "Is something the matter?" Bakura said as he held the school entrance door open. Lexi didn't answer him while she continued and walked out the door. I don't get it. Why can't I stop thinking of him? It's not like I miss him or anything…, Lexi's face went red. "Ryou have you ever liked someone and you don't even know why, or like something happens between you and this person. But because of what had happened you now like that person and you can't stop thinking about them." "Of course I have a crush on you and I don't know why I guess some things are meant to be." Bakura's eyes widened regretting what he said. "What was that Ryou?" "Nothing," "But you said something." "uhh," think, think he thought, "Bubasha." Bakura yelled. He picked up the pace of his steady walk, but it wasn't enough to lose Lexi. She just forgot purposely what he said as they continued to walk together even though it was awkward. Neither one of them said a word, nor did they look at each other. Lexi and Bakura finally made it to the apartment building, went up the stairs, and stood in front of their own apartment doors; their backs facing each other's. "Umm… do you want to watch a movie of hang out?" Lexi said turning to face him. Bakura turned also and smiled as he grabbed his door knob, "We can study at my place." "I haven't got any textbooks yet. You know being in the hospital, falling unconscious and all." Lexi smiled back. "Well, we can share my textbooks? We also have an upcoming test in a few days and I wouldn't want you to fail." He replied. She thought for a moment with a blank expression on her face. Then suddenly with glee she light up, her enthusiasm grew like a flame. "Really?" She asked surprisingly "Of course, like I said, I wouldn't want you to fail the upcoming test would I?" Bakura opened the door to his apartment allowing her to go first. "Thank you, Ryou." Lexi said walking in. Bakura evilly grinned at the floor; his hair in his face. "Yeah, we should study but would you like to play a game first." Bakura's insane side impersonated the kind sweet Bakura Lexi knew. "Sure but I always lose. So don't laugh if I lose horribly." Lexi said watching Bakura close the door behind them. There was a couch in front of a TV. "Sit down if you don't mind, I'll get the game set up." He said walking into a room that had a table and two chairs; still he had the face of gently Bakura. He closed the door behind him. Lexi sat down thinking about what happened earlier. I wonder… Ryou has a darker side, another soul inhabiting inside him, an ancestor who might've been a thief. I think he should be called the king of thieves, but that seems too long perhaps I'll go with what I called him before…Ryota. Lexi thought. The door opened, and Bakura came out. "The game's all set up now." Lexi stood up, "I wonder what kind of game it is?" "Come on in and find out." He allowed her to go first. Inside, the table had been set up. A computer was on the opposite side of where Lexi was going to sit, but what really caught her eye is that there were towels on the two chairs. Lexi heard the door lock; then came the uneasiness in her stomach. "W-why'd you lock the door?" She asked turning around to see Bakura's hair spiked more intense than normal. "Just so you can't escape. I wouldn't want you to leave so soon because I wouldn't get to, how do I say this, play with you." He grinned and gave Lexi a gesture to sit down so she did. Bakura pushed her chair in, "Wouldn't want you to be uncomfortable now." Uncomfortable… how in the world does this make me feel comfortable. He just said he wanted to 'play' with me. Yeah that's just being oh I don't know… odd and then pushing my chair in was nice, but not after you say something like that! Lexi thought as she looked at the ground. She breathed in a little air to calm herself down; I might be getting ahead of myself here. Maybe he just meant that he wanted to play the game with him? "Excuse me, but umm I'd like to start the game now." Bakura said knocking Lexi into reality. "I drifted again." When Lexi looked at Bakura he was sitting in the chair in front of her and in front of him was a computer. "You know that is a bad habit but you look so beautiful when you drift off." "What do you want?" Lexi said angrily looking him in the eye. "You cut right to the point. You shouldn't jump the gun my dear." He smiled. "….." Lexi wasn't amused. Bakura laughed, "My, aren't you cute when you're mad." "You know you're really bad at this." Lexi said slightly shaking her head. "What I'm just trying to make you happy." He replied. "Stop, just stop, I don't want you to waste my time." "A moment ago when you were talking to Bakura you were perfectly fine with playing with him." "What do you want?" Lexi said. Bakura's dark side's smile went away, "Like I told you I'm a thief." "And thieves steal… so what do you want." Lexi now made him a little angry but he calmed himself down and continued. "The Millennium Mistress," Lexi looked confused. "I don't think I understand." "How about we make a gamble before we start the game you know to make the game more interesting." Bakura's grin came back. "Okay then what is it." "If I win I get your virginity." "Whaaaaat!?" "And if you win you get to leave." "What the heck is wrong with you? You can't do that it's not how it works!" "Doesn't matter you won't be able to leave." Lexi paused for a moment. "What makes you think I can't beat you up or kick the door down?" Bakura smiled creepily, "Then we actually will cut to the chase."
