Chapter 5

(Toby and Kim, Snow-Stuck Friends)

*Martyn's POV*

All in all, the attack on Duncan's lab wasn't really big. We just broke down a wall, burned a tree, and apparently he was in his underwear.

"Where'd you get those undies?" Nathan33521 asked him jokingly.

Duncan ignored him, clambering into an extra boat.

When we got back to the town, the first thing I did was grab a couple of melons from my fridge and eat them on the couch. Show us your melons! Then I pulled on my coat and went outside.

It had gotten a lot colder over the past week, and I wasn't entirely surprised when it started snowing. Somebody appeared to be stuck under a large pile of snow already. It really was snowing quite heavily.

"Where's Sjin when I need help?" the person in the snow grumbled. Great. It was Kim.

I was going to get her some help when Toby strolled over and walked right on top of the pile of snow.

"Toby, you know Kim is under there?"

"Oh." Toby stepped out of the snow and we both hauled Kim out as well.

She was still covered in snow, which she quickly brushed off. "Thanks," Kim gasped. "But did Toby really have to step on me?"

We both laughed, and I started walking to the new street. Nathan was putting up a sign that said 'Slenderman Lane'.

I laughed, which started him. Nathan fell off his ladder.

Toby walked by the sign and gave it a sideways glance. "Screw you," he said to Nathan. "Screw Slenderman too, while we're at it. Screw Phurley!"

Nathan and I laughed as Toby stormed away, only to fall in a really deep pile of snow! This made us laugh even harder.

I sighed. "So, do you think Sips_ is against us as well?" I asked. "After all, his girlfriend is."

Nathan shrugged. "We can always ask him."

I opened a book and wrote,

Dear Sips_,

Your girlfriend declared war on us. Do you do that as well?

-Totally not Martyn

We addressed the book to SIPSCO, then sent it. Somehow. To Sips_ and Nutmeg.

*Nutmeg_Kitten725's POV*

Dear diary,

Did you know that the square root of 16 is 4? That was why my explosive dirt didn't work! I didn't do the math right! So I will try again now. :)

*Cinnamon527's POV*

"So, you think SIPSCO declared war on us, huh?" I asked Duncan.

He nodded. "What else could it be?" he asked. "Nutmeg and Sips_ are dating, and she lives at SIPSCO now. So they're probably working together."

I shrugged. He did have a point. "Do you have a map of SIPSCO?" I asked.

Duncan nodded, pulling a map out of his pocket. "Yes," he told me. "But if they're declaring war, then their security will probably have increased."

Well, duh, I wanted to say. Obviously. I stood up from my chair.

"I'm going to see how the new street is getting along," I said, stepping outside.

Snow thickly covered the ground already, and more was tumbling from the sky. Toby was climbing out of a snowdrift, and Nathan and Martyn were doubled over laughing at him. Toby stood on the snow, took a step, and fell right back into it.

Nathan and Martyn laughed even harder. I walked over to them and looked up at the sign.

Slenderman Lane.

"Wow, Nathan, really?"

Nathan33521 laughed. "I have naming rights, and this is what I chose," he reminded me, shrugging.

I made a mental note not to give him anymore naming rights.

"Oh!" Martyn exclaimed. "By the way, Kat, we sent a letter to Sips_. Asking if he had sided with Nutmeg."

"Well, of course he did!" I cried, throwing my hands up into the air like I just didn't care! Well, actually, I did that in disbelief. But the first one works too! "Have you ever heard of a guy not siding with his girlfriend?"

Martyn rolled his eyes. "Well… no," he muttered. "But it couldn't hurt to make sure it was true."

Now it was my turn to roll my eyes. "What did you sign the note with?" I asked with an exasperated sigh.

"Totally not Martyn," was the reply.

Finally, I was out of the hospital! Ivy141 really mangled me.

I walked out of the town and down to a hill by the river to see my squid friends. They were in the water.

"Hello, squidlings!" I said. "Who wants to watch the sunset with me?"

Silence.

That meant every squid wanted to watch the sunset with me!

"I love squids," I said.

Then I got dabbed in the back. Literally.

"It's lights out for you, squid-lover."

Then I blocked out.
