Hi! I know when I updated last I said quickly… this is kinda quick for me so I'm not really going to apologise. So, here is the second part of episode 6, which really has no relevance to episode six, it just happens at the same time. Never mind…

Teleporting was not at all what I expected. I had sort of imagined having some sort of moving or shifting sensation, as if traveling faster than the speed of light from one place to another. But it was nothing like that. It was just instant, like one second we were standing on the backstreet, and then we weren't. No moving, or disappearing into another dimension for a few seconds. It was just like the world had changed around us while we remained the same. Like someone had just changed the channel on the TV and we were still there, in the different program.
Greenie immediately jumped into action, tossing the camera to one side, he quickly closed the curtains, the views through which told me we were still in Jump. Since the Tower was visible across the short strip of water. He then switched on the light and pulled up the bed covers which draped to the floor. Out from under the bed he rolled what appeared to be another bed, though this one was metal and had thick metal restraints for wrists and ankles. I gawked at the camp bed sized contraption in slight shock. Just as I began to question my thoughts that these people were heroes, the young boy noticed my expression.
"Let's just say she REALLY doesn't like hospitals" he quipped as he proceeded to drag out a large suitcase as well. He laid it horizontally on the floor and unzipped it, revealing it to be full of medical supplies. He tossed something white at me, which I caught deftly and examined, revealing it to be a large white plaster and an alcohol wipe. I shot him a look of confusion, before remembering the blood that dripped down my arm. I expertly wiped up the blood with the wipe and covered it with the plaster, then proceeded to help him unpack anything I thought might be useful for removing the knife and dealing with the wound it left.
We must not have teleported far from the scene as it was only a couple of minutes later that there was a sharp crunching sound of a key turning in the lock. The door swung open to reveal a black-haired man wearing dark jeans and a white shirt and supporting a black-haired lady, who was slumped onto him and clearly unconscious, she wore a grey hoodie and jeans. I looked at the pair in confusion, who on earth were they? Were they the true owners of this hotel room and we had been breaking and entering? I calmed myself and looked more closely at the couple; they did look a bit familiar. The man's jaw and chin looked just like the Blue-Armoured man's, and come to think of it, the woman looked a lot like Greek Letter Girl, if it weren't for the fact that her hair was black, not purple. Wait, they were them! The man quickly laid her down on the metal bed and clamped her in. He looked up and seemed to be assessing me.
"Before she wakes up, do you have any electronic or computerised items?" He questioned, reaching to the woman's neck and pressing something, which caused a high-tech looking collar to appear from no-where and her to return to how she looked before, purple hair, costume and knife sticking from her side. A holographic projector, I surmised. He removed the collar and her jacket so that the knife was easily accessible.
"Just this" I replied, tossing my communicator in the air, "But it's busted"
"Good" He nodded, grabbing what he needed from the equipment we set out.
"Umm, no it isn't, it means I can't contact my team" I retorted, glaring at him. He ignored me and turned to Greenie, who had removed his blue mask revealing brown eyes not that different from my own.
"You know what to do, no loose items" Armour-guy ordered, and the young boy leapt into action, sweeping all the loose items from around the room into a bag and porting it into the adjoining bathroom, he did the same with the bedside tables, the beds themselves and everything that wasn't physically attached to the floor or walls. Honestly, I was surprised the bathroom had enough room. In almost no time at all the room was empty except for the restraining table in the centre. Once he was done, Greenie appeared next to me, picking nervously at the edge of the yellow spark motif sewn into the green fabric of his suit.
"You may want to stand back for this next bit" he warned, biting his lip. The Black-haired man cut away the purple fabric from around the wound, gritting his teeth; he wrapped his hand tightly round the handle of the blade. As he did so, the blue armour from before materialised over his clothes. Slowly, but with great precision, he withdrew the knife from her side. Immediately the woman's purple eyes shot open before rapidly turning yellow. Blue-Armour Guy was immediately thrown backwards into the wall, the knife still in his hand. The Bed she was on started rising into the air.
"Heather! Calm down!" Armour shouted, his helmet disappeared revealing his messy black hair and dark blue eyes. "It's me, Will!"
Heather (Which was apparently her name) let out a sudden gasp and the metal bed crashed back to the ground. Armour-guy (Whose name was apparently Will) rushed forwards and immediately began disinfecting and sewing the wound.
"Get it over and done with, Blue, I've got a villain to catch" Heather groaned.
"You're not going anywhere" he stated calmly, "Not until Jacknife is behind bars, you can't fight him in this state"
"I wouldn't even have to if SHE hadn't let him get away" She snapped accusingly in my directing, "By the way, Jay, you are so dead for bringing a stranger here!"
"She's not a stranger, she's Swift!" Greenie (or J apparently, she seemed to have a thing for naming people after alphabet letters, unless she meant Jay as in J-A-Y, like the bird, it better not be his codename, birds are mine and Dick's thing… and Raven's … and Black Canary's… and Hawk's… and Dove's… and Hawk-girl's… and the Penguin's… that's not even counting the fictional ones like Falcon and Vulture… ok, so maybe it wasn't that exclusive. Jay was a name too, wasn't it? Could it be his actual name? Huh, today seemed to be the day for learning secret identities, not that I was divulging mine) defended.
"Sidekick or not, letting the villain get away is not grounds for heroism" Heather glowered I glowered back, it wasn't like I let him go on purpose, "Now let me out of this thing!"
She struggled against the restraints, her eyes flashing alternately blue and yellow.
"Not happening" Jay taunted with a grin.
"Not helping" Will snapped at the boy.
"Neither are you!" Jay retorted. I rolled my eyes; they were almost as dysfunctional as us!
"Ok, could someone please explain what is going on?" I shouted, silencing them. "And by the way I'M NOT A SIDEKICK!"
"Got it" Jay replied, wincing.
"Let's try this again" Will suggested, "Defender, Meta, impenetrable force-field armour"
I frowned, wondering why he sounded like he was reciting army ranks, then realised he was telling me his superhero identity and skills.
"Uuh, Swift, human, staff, birdarangs and other random gadgets" I replied awkwardly, "And come to think of it, I may have left the staff at the scene"
I winced at my mistake.
"Flick, Meta as well, intangibility and teleportation" Jay, or Flick, recited. I looked expectantly at Heather.
"Psy, also meta, telepathy, telekinesis and technopathy" she sighed, reluctantly ceasing her struggling against the restraints.
"Technopathy?" I repeated the strange word.
"The ability to access and control computers with my mind" she explained, "I made up the term"
"Ah, so, explanations?" I asked.
"We were on the trail of a mercenary assassin known as…" Defender started.
"Oh yeah! I was right!" I exclaimed, cutting him off mid-sentence. "Knew he wasn't a bank robber… I'm sorry, please continue"
The blue armoured hero cleared his throat.
"A mercenary assassin known as Jacknife" he continued, "We got a tip he gained a mysterious contract for a high profile target here in Jump City, our guess, you and your team, looks like we were right"
"But if his target is the Titans, why didn't he kill me when he had the chance?" I questioned.
"My guess, he was planning on using you as bait for the rest of your team" Psy clarified, "If he hadn't been you'd've been dead before your body hit the ground"
"But why the bank robbery façade?" I asked.
"Something to draw you out?" Flick suggested.
"Less risky than confronting you on your home turf and more of a chance of you underestimating him" Will replied, nodding in agreement.
"But who'd wanna kill us?" I wondered.
"Duh! One of your villains!" Flick blurted out.
"Yeah, but we just have crazy villains, not super-evil-wanting-to-kill-us ones" I explained, "If I wanted them I'd go back to Gotham"
"There must be one" Will insisted, "Try thinking though them"
"Ok then, there's Dr Light, who is kinda pathetic and is really just a bank robber, Mumbo, who is just way too crazy to think of that and would probably just saw us in half or something, Thunder and Lightning turned out not to be villains at all, Cinderblock and Plasmus don't have the brains, literally, and I'd like to see them put out a hit without talking, Blackfire only wanted Starfire arrested for her crimes, and I think the Hive just wanted our tower, the only other option would be…" I trailed off and gasped in realisation. "Slade"
"Who's he?" Jay chirped.
"I don't know, never seen him" I shrugged.
"How can you have a villain you've never seen? Is he invisible?" He asked, frowning.
"He's not, at least I don't think he is, Robin saw him" I replied, "It goes like this: A month or so ago the Hive attacked us and stole the tower, and Robin was dead, and then he wasn't, then we beat them, but when we did the annoying little guy mentioned the name Slade. Then there was the whole thing with Cinderblock and Plasmus, and Cyborg and Robin were all like 'this is too smart for them' and 'someone is pulling the strings' then I thought it might be the Puppet Master, but it couldn't've been 'cause he's not real. Then there was Thunder and Lightning when apparently he tricked them into making this giant fire monster which attacked a load of forest before we stopped it, that was when Robin saw him, according to him anyway, he was disguised as an old man, which is kinda silly, and that's all"
I finished the explanation, breathing heavily since I hadn't while I was speaking.
"So you think this Slade guy wants you dead?" Defender asked.
"Yes… no… I don't know" I tried to answer, "All the other times it seemed more like he was testing us, than trying to kill us, or testing Robin anyway"
"So Jacknife is a test too?" Psy asked, her head stretched up off the table, trying to clarify the situation, "If it was for Robin, then that would explain why Jack didn't kill you when he had the chance"
"We have to stop him!" I gasped, rushing towards the window, "He's still out there and after my Brother!"
"Trust me, I get it, but you can't just go rushing out like that" Psy protested, "His contract may be for Robin, but that won't stop him from killing anyone else who gets in his way, especially you now you've crossed him"
"So what do I do?" I questioned, angrily tugging the curtain shut again.
"You could get me out of these restraints?" She asked hopefully.
"Sorry, but she's not doing that" Will told her sternly, "It's for your own good"
"Fine, but let me help" Psy sighed, "I can try and track Jacknife via the police band"
"Fair enough" The Blue-armoured man permitted reluctantly.
"I could do it better if I wasn't strapped to a table" she suggested hopefully.
"Still not happening" he chided, sounding less serious than he had before.
"No fair" Psy pouted, sticking her bottom lip out at her friend.
"Just find the bad guy already!" Flick complained impatiently.
"Keep your mask on!" she laughed, despite the fact I was the only one in the room still wearing a mask.
"Not wearing it!" he smirked back.
"You know what I mean!" she snapped, sounding simultaneously annoyed and amused. Flick stuck out his bottom lip in defiance.
"Can we get on to the part where we STOP THE EVIL MERCINARY FROM KILLING MY BROTHER?!" I yelled, causing everyone to stare at me in shock. There was a short silence, which Will was the first to break.
"Psy, scan" he ordered the Purple-haired heroine, she nodded rather awkwardly, due to still being horizontal. Her eyes flickered half shut and the part of her iris that remained visible changed to an electric blue. It was about five minutes if impatient waiting before her eyes fully opened and returned to their original shade of purple.
"Nothing on Police Band" She reported, "However Social Networking proved more useful, about thirty seconds ago someone 'tweeted' that a 'Creepy Armoured Man' walked into a convenience store downtown"
I raised an eyebrow.
"You'd be surprised how many crimes are reported by social media before the police even get a tip" Will explained, "Especially with all the smartphones around"
"Convenience store?" Flick questioned, "That's rather cliché isn't it?"
"What better way to draw a hero out?" Psy smirked.
"What about kidnaping known associates?" I suggested, recounting (or rather loosing count of) the number of times Lois Lane had been kidnapped to draw Superman out.
"He tried that already" the Purple-themed Heroine pointed out, nodding towards my now bandaged arm, which I had almost forgotten about.
"Oh yeah, too bad it didn't work out!" I grinned, tugging the hem of my t-shirt down so it covered the white strip. "So, let's get this guy before the rest of the Titans pick it up!"
"YEAH!" Flick yelled in agreement.
"Hold up a second, someone has to stay here and make sure Psy doesn't come after us" Defender announced. "Flick, you keep an eye on her, She'd be twice as likely to escape if you came along"
"But I wanna fight with Swift!" the green-clad boy pouted, his brown eyes grew large and puppy-like looking a little like a human version of Beast Boy's 'the face'.
"Tough, I'm not letting you confront Jacknife when I'm out of commission" Psy put in, sounding rather over-protective. Ironically, considering she let him fight crime in the first place, but then I wasn't one to talk. Though Jay/Flick couldn't have been older than twelve, and I was fourteen. Plus I had way more experience and training.
Jay flopped reluctantly onto his knees on the floor, his bottom lip stuck out in annoyance. Meanwhile Defender tossed a bundle of clothing in my direction.
"You'll need these to leave this place incognito" he claimed as his armour faded to reveal the clothes he wore when he entered. I unwrapped the bundle and found a large red hoodie, a baseball cap and a pair of mirrored sports sunglasses. Nodding my appreciation, I turned away from the trio and replaced my mask with the glasses then pulled the hoodie over my head. It was long enough to cover my belt and shorts so that it looked like I was just wearing leggings underneath and I tied my hair up and shoved it under the cap so that I wasn't recognisable. Then I followed the older hero out the hotel room and down the corridor.
And that's the end of that part, there will be a part three, this 'episode' has gone on a lot longer than I expected.
