Miss You More

Yuuki ran to the Mizukage's apartments as fast as she could. When she got there, she rapped smartly on the door.

"Yuuki? What are you doing here?" a pretty brunette asked as she opened the door.

"Your father sent me," Yuuki replied breathlessly.

"Oh my gosh. Is he alright? What's happened?" she asked worriedly. If her father had sent Yuuki, something big must have happened.

"Pack your bags, Miss Rin, and come with me. Make sure you bring everything with you," Yuuki ordered, finally getting ahold of herself.

Miss Rin obeyed instantly, running around the rooms she shared with her father, grabbing anything that was hers and packing it in a bag that Yuuki held for her. Together, they got all her clothes and small personal items into three, easily-carriable bags. Thankfully, she didn't own much, just the necessities and a few good outfits for going out.

Rin and Yuuki surveyed the apartment, looking for any forgotten belongings. Satisfied that they had everything, the two women grabbed Rin's bags and started to walk to the Mizukage's office, two stories below the apartments.

"Yuuki, what's this about? Why do I have to bring all my stuff?" Rin asked as they walked.

"Do you have your face paint, Miss Rin?" Yuuki asked, ignoring her question.

"Yes, but I quit wearing that when I moved here. Why?" Rin asked impatiently.

"I'm going to miss you, Miss Rin. You can always come visit," Yuuki replied quietly, still ignoring Rin's questions.

"Yuuki! What's going on? I'm not taking one more step until you tell me," Rin swore, stopping in the middle of the hallway.

"Rin," Yuuki replied gently, turning to the young woman now standing behind her. "It would be best if your father explained. He is the Mizukage, after all."

Rin stood still for a moment, thinking. Finally, she decided that Yuuki was right and once more began to walk. Within a few minutes, they reached the doors to the Mizukage's office. Yuuki threw open one door and ushered Rin inside.

Two men were in the room. One sat behind the desk. The other stood in front of the desk. She recognized her father's gray hair and fuchsia eyes calmly regarding the man in front of him, who also had gray hair. To most, Yugara's face seemed expressionless, but she could read the unhappiness in his face, as well as his dislike of the man in front of him.

"Father? What's going on? Why did I have to pack everything?" Rin asked, ignoring the stranger as she boldly strode toward her adoptive father.

While many feared Yugara and his blood lust, Rin saw more to him. Since her arrival in Kiri thirteen years ago, he had served as her teacher, friend and mentor. While he hated most people, he was kind to her. Rin had never felt afraid of this man that she called father.

"Rin," Yugara said softly as he stood and hugged her. "I'm sorry, but I'm sending you back to Konoha. They need you and your talents. The Fifth Hokage has sent this man to escort you there," he concluded, waving a hand absently toward the gray-haired ninja in front of him.

Rin finally looked at the gray-haired stranger. He had a leaf headband, which covered his left eye, and most of his face was covered by a mask. It had been years since she had seen him, but she knew that signature look anywhere.

"Kakashi?" Rin gasped, not believing her eyes.

"Father? What's going on? Why did I have to pack everything? "A strong female voice asked from behind him as Kakashi heard the doors open behind him. He heard the girl's footsteps as she strode toward Yugara's desk.

Kakashi noted a slight softening in Yugara's eyes as he caught sight of the young woman he called his daughter. When the girl passed him, Kakashi took the chance to study her. She had long, dark brown hair. She was about half a foot shorter than he himself was, and he had yet to catch a glimpse of her face; however, her voice sounded extremely familiar. It had been a long time since he had heard that voice, and besides, he chided himself, it couldn't possibly be her. She was dead. The Third had told him she had been killed.

As he continued to deny the girl's identity to himself, his thoughts were interrupted by the young woman's voice. He realized that both the girl and the Mizukage were staring at him, giving Kakashi the chance to see her features.

She no longer wore the twin purple stripes on her face, and he hadn't seen her in 15 years, but there was no mistaking her identity now. It was his Rin-chan.

All this ran through his head in a matter of seconds as his visible eye widened and, beneath his mask, his mouth fell open in shock. He continued gaping like a fish trying to breathe for about a minute before he remembered himself.

"Rin?" he breathed in a ragged, heartbroken voice. "Is it really you?"

She dropped her things and, audience forgotten, ran at Kakashi to throw herself into his arms. Luckily for the both of them, he remembered to catch her just in time. For a few minutes, the two stood there in silence, Rin burying her face in his shirt, and Kakashi holding her closely, eyes closed as he breathed in the familiar smell of Rin's jasmine scented shampoo. He still couldn't believe that, after 15 years, he was holding Rin once more.

"So sorry to interrupt this touching reunion, but I believe we still have matters to discuss," Yugara interrupted in a cold voice, glaring pointedly at Kakashi.

"Yes, sir," Kakashi replied, letting go of Rin. Before she moved away however, he whispered in her ear," We'll talk on the way to Konoha." She nodded and reluctantly moved away to stand near Yuuki.

"Yuuki, Rin, wait outside," Yugara ordered in a calm voice. His face was a mask, even to Rin.

Casting a worried look at Kakashi, Rin left the room, Yuuki closing the door softly behind them both. The tension between the two men was obvious in the stiff way each man held himself. After a silent battle of wills, Yugara spoke.

"I'm not one for beating around the bush. I hate when others do it, and I won't do it now," he spoke clearly, albeit softly, causing Kakashi to raise one hidden brow in curiosity.

"Sir?" he prompted, when Yugara didn't continue.

"I may not be her biological father, but Rin is my little girl. Since she moved to this village, I've watched over her. If you do anything to hurt her, anything at all, I don't care if it was an accident, I will kill you. I can easily make it look like it was an accident, and that's no mere threat, Hatake. That's a promise," Yugara swore, the dangerous light returning to his eyes. "Have I made my position clear?"

"Yes, Mizukage sir," Kakashi replied respectfully, a hidden smile lighting up his face.

"Good. You may go. I'll give you and Rin two hours to get ready and leave," he said dismissively, turning to the paperwork on his desk.

Kakashi left, closing the door quietly behind him. When he turned, he just had time to catch a glimpse of brunette hair and center himself before he was attacked.

"Thank God!" Rin sighed, her voice muffled by his chest.

The moment he had turned around, Rin had launched herself at Kakashi, wrapping her arms around his waist. She buried her face in his chest, taking comfort in the warmth that was Hatake Kakashi. Without hesitating, he wrapped his arms around her, holding his Rin-chan close. After holding each other for what felt like an eternity, Kakashi spoke.

"Come on, let's get out of here. I need to get some supplies and clean up. He's given us two hours to get ready and leave," Kakashi told Rin, clearing his throat and putting distance between her and himself.

Smiling mischievously, Rin grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the Mizukage's building, heading down the street.

"Where are we going, Rin?" he asked, easily keeping pace with her.

"You'll see," she replied, smirking.

TADA! Guess now we know who "Daddy's little girl" is. I wonder how this will affect those two. Hmmmmmmmmmm :) I make no promises to not be evil.
