"Just Like A Merry-Go-Round"

Chapter Six:

He went down the car and instructed the driver that he would be going home by walking today. A little surprised, the latter nodded and drove away as commanded. Looking at the rearview mirror, he saw his master taking out his phone. The red-head pressed some buttons and placed the phone against his ear. His eyes widened when Akashi Seijuuro smiled.

"Young master actually smiled. It must be that kid whom Master brought home before." He commented and looked back at the road. "I do hope Young Master finds happiness soon. That smile really did suit him."

Akashi looked at his wristwatch and then placed his phone back inside his pocket. He learned something new again: Kise was a guy hard to call for he was always running away from fangirls who were always chasing after him. He placed a mental note with the words: 'Call Midorima instead. At least, he's the most reasonable among them all.'

He put his hand inside his coat's left pocket and smiled. "Today, surely." He confidently murmured and squeezed the thing he got hold of.

~LFMH021~

He dribbled the ball, made a swift left turn and dunked the ball inside the hoop. He hung on the ring for few seconds before letting it go and landing on his feet. "Captain, what time is it?"

"Perhaps 5 in the afternoon." Kasamatsu answered as he wiped his sweat.

Kise panicked. "I'm late! Can I be dismissed now?" He exclaimed and arranged his messy belongings. "Akashicchi called us for a hangout and we can't really decline."

His dark-head captain walked towards him and then stood beside him. As the latter spun the ball on his index finger, he watched as Kise panicked. Bemused, he called the blonde's name, "Oi, you idiotic Kise."

The copycat blinked and looked up, "What is it, Cap—"

He was interrupted when Kasamatsu leaned down, lifted his chin and gave a short peak on his lips.

It only lasted for a second, but it did not only bring silence on Kise but to the whole Kaijo Basketball Team. Smirking, Kasamatsu yelled, "What are you guys spacing for? Start cleaning so we can all go home early! Your little entertainment has ended for today. I shall present a new one everyday if that will bring your spirits up."

Kise's cheeks reddened even more when the dark-head looked over his shoulder at him. With thundering heart, he grabbed his bag and ran outside the gymnasium. He gasped when he bumped into a hard object that blocked his way suddenly.

Looking up, he was even more surprised to see a dumbfounded Aomine staring back at him. "A-A-Aominecchi…?"

The blue-head lifted an eyebrow. "Your face's so red. What happened?"

"I-I-I- Well, n-nothing."

"You rotten liar." The ace growled.

Gulping, he held onto Aomine's uniform and murmured, "I love you, Aominecchi."

"…What's this suddenly?" The latter gasped. "Don't say someone dared you to do this because it's not really that funny, Kise."

The blonde shook his head fiercely and then looked up at Aomine for one last moment. "I love you, so much it hurts. Kasamatsu-senpai kissed me a little just awhile ago, but I pushed him instantly because all I could think was your expression and reaction if you saw it. I don't want you to hate me. I love you."

Aomine blinked and then traced his lips. "Idiot. As if I could hate you. Never avoid me. I hate it. I love you too, you idiot copycat." He whispered and captured Kise's lips with his. "Just so you know, I'll never let you go." He added before leaning even more.

Kasamatsu peeked from somewhere far and smirked. "Those two are such idiots. They really did need a little push. If I was Aomine, I would be very, very, very lucky." He commented and then looked at the two again, happily laughing now. "But perhaps, I was not on his level of luck. Kise could never be mine after all." He whispered and closed the windows. "EVERYONE, YOU'RE DISMISSED NOW! GOOD JOB!" He shouted and turned as if it didn't hurt.

But tears poured down his cheeks. It hurts. But only few more months and I'll graduate. Few more months and I'll move on.

Midorima lifted his head when Miyaji suddenly called his name out, "Midorima, come here!"

Since he was a very obedient kouhai, Takao watched as the green-head approach their blonde senpai. He was just content on watching the two talk when Miyaji suddenly wrapped an arm around Midorima's shoulder and laughed, "You idiot, Midorima. Don't be so uptight."

Uncomfortable, the green-head frowned and replied, "I'm not being uptight. I'm just being realtistic, senpai."

"Stop frowning. You'll grow old earlier than us. Smile, it very suits you. Just so you know, your smile could actually lift anyone's mood. Even mine."

Takao was about to let everything he heard slide until he saw his partner made a small smile as his cheeks puffed pink.

Miyaji, also awed, smiled back and patted Midorima. "So our little Midorima could be adorable too when he wants to~ Geez, don't make such surprise attacks! Some might die because of heart attack."

"I don't actually under—"

Midorima was cut off when Takao grabbed one of his arms. "No more! Shin-chan, it's time to go! Isn't Akashi calling us to meet with him?"

"Right, but—"

He grinned forcefully at Miyaji. "Take care, senpai. We'll go on ahead."

Miyaji pretended he understood none of that just happened. "Hey, you two! How dare you run away when we're still having a conversation here? Come back here!"

Takao pushed Midorima's bag on the latter's chest before turning his head and glaring at a certain blonde. "You're a jerk, senpai!" He growled and dragged his partner towards their rickshaw.

Sighing, Midorima crossed his arms, and refused to go into the rickshaw. "I won't go with you until you apologize to Miyaji-senpai. You're the one closest with him; you cannot just leave just like that."

"Of course I can leave just like that. He's just my senpai. Nothing more and nothing less." Takao grumbled and went on to the bicycle. "Go in, Shin-chan."

"Takao, stop being such a jerk. What's your problem?"

The dark-head didn't reply, and threw his bag in the rickshaw instead.

"Takao!" He scolded in annoyance and grabbed one of the said boy's hands. "Takao!"

"I HATE IT!" The Hawk-Eye owner shouted and started to sob. "I fucking hate it!"

"Hate what? And please do not use such language. It doesn't suit you."

Sobbing, the dark-head growled, "I freaking hate him! I fucking hate this!"

"TAKAO!"

This yell of his brought the other into silence. Slowly, his partner looked him in the eye. "…Shin-chan…!" He sobbed.

Sighing in exasperation, Midorima opened his arms and mumbled, "Come here."

In an instant, Takao was in his arms. "Shin-chan…" The latter purred and then leaned his face against the green-head's chest.

"Idiot." Midorima sighed.

"I love you too." Takao whispered and hugged the green-head tightly.

The dark-head felt victorious when the other's cheeks didn't just turn pink, but became so red—he almost looked a tomato with eyeglasses.

Laughing a little with Takao, Midorima leaned down and placed a small kiss on the Point Guard's forehead. "Never ever change nanodayo."

Placing his palm on the miracle shooter's chest, Takao nodded. "I won't and neither will you."

"That's totally PDAing…" Another first-year of Shuutoku's Basketball Club commented from inside the gym where he could see glimpse of the duo.

"Those weird-os." Miyaji added as he stood before that kouhai of his.

"But, now that you think about it, this is the first time I ever saw Midorima that happy." The freshman murmured in astonishment.

With this statement, the blonde's eyes narrowed a friction. "That's actually true…" He mumbled and watched as the freshman bowed and went back to work. Instead of following after the said boy, he turned back towards where he could see the pair. Laughing, Takao finally started pedaling as Midorima began to hold a conversation. The former said something and received a smack on the head by the tsundere. The way they looked and loved each other left a sting of pain on Miyaji's heart. Biting his lip, he closed the windows and turned back on the ones, who were still practicing.

I could never compete with Takao. After all, Midorima's only happy when he's with Kazunari. I'm not blind not to see that.

Himuro looked around right after he entered their school's gym. Frowning, he even entered the changing rooms but failed on his mental mission.

"Murasakibara's not here. I called his phone, but he has not picked up." Wei Liu mumbled as he dribbled the ball.

"Ah, you got me." He exclaimed and then scratched his cheek in embarrassment. "He went to the infirmary in the second subject after lunch, but didn't come back. I thought he was feeling ill that's why I let him stay there. After class, I checked him there, but the school doctor said he left just minutes ago…I wonder where he went to. That guy has no sense of direction…"

"I'll let you find him first." Okamura announced. "Make sure first if he's alright. And tell me if ever you need us or anything."

Nodding, he sprinted off towards the infirmary again, just in case. As he had found no trace of the violet-head on the usual places they hang out to, he ran towards the rooftop and found no one still. Panting, he leaned against the railings first.

"Where did he go to…? Don't say he went back home already…But that's just not—"

"YOU BASTARD! PAY ATTENTION TO ME! I'M TALKING TO YOU!"

Surprised, he turned and leaned forward against the railings before narrowing his eyes to see what was happening on the backyard of the school, just four storeys away from where he was.

His eyes widened when he saw the three members of the rugby team surrounding his partner. "ATSUSHI!" He gasped and ran downstairs as fast as he could.

When he arrived, he found the violet-head trying to dodge one of the three's punches. "Stop it! I didn't even do anything to you~!"

"Can't you remember? Back when you, basketball team, went back from a competition you just won, we tried congratulating you but you looked at us as if we were nothing but peasants and turned. You didn't even acknowledge us or even nodded! You're annoying and irritating! All we want is an apology!"

"No~!"

"Atsushi." He murmured.

The center looked at him and pouted. "No means no~! I didn't do anything bad. I won't apologize for doing nothing~!"

"Just apologize and then we'll leave you alone."

"NO~!"

"You asshole! You fucking brat! You must be big but not strong enough! " The biggest and the one who looked most impatient among the three made a step before punching a perfect uppercut right on Murasakibara's face.

Himuro's eyes widened when he saw something red pouring down from his partner's left eyebrow, nose and a corner of his lips.

Slowly, tears trickled down Murasakibara's cheeks. "Ow…" He murmured in pain.

As more tears poured down the violet-head's cheeks, that was when Himuro's rage finally got into his head. He sprinted off towards the three dirtbags and made a blow on the leader's nose. It felt like yesterday when he did this regularly, and he was actually surprised at how good he still was with fights.

Dodge. Punch. Kick. Dodge. Uppercut. Dodge. Kick again. Kick. Kick. Punch.

It was as if he was a robot being controlled as his body moved by its own.

"MURO-CHIN! STOP IT!"

He didn't even realize that Murasakibara had gotten hold of him. He blinked and looked up. The center player's face was still bleeding.

"W-W-W-W-We surrender!" The three gasped, fully bruised and limped towards wherever they were off to.

He felt so little as his partner set him down and patted his head. He closed his eyes and felt that hand's warmth as it caressed his locks of hair. He reopened his eyes and looked at those violet orbs. "You're bleeding…" He whispered.

"I'll be fine. Not a big deal~" Murasakibara assured and smiled. "You're good at fighting, Muro-chin~ I never knew."

He didn't know why, but Himuro started to cry. "Shut up. Don't say anything." He grunted and continued to sob.

"I'm fine, Muro-chin~ I'm fine." The center player reassured, just in case Himuro still wouldn't believe he was right there, alive and kicking…well, eating.

~LFMH021~

"Where the hell are they? We've been standing here for almost ten minutes!" Kagami growled and removed his uniform's blazer.

"Do fold it neatly, Kagami-kun." Kuroko reminded.

With a smirk, the red-head nodded and started folding it. "Yeah, yeah, I know, mom."

"SORRY, WE'RE LATE!" Voices they would always be familiar with, shouted so loud—every person surrounding them started to stare and murmur about them.

Kagami huffed. Just when the atmosphere between us has started to get good again…

"Oh! Kagami! There you are!" Aomine greeted with a wave. "Eh? Where's Tetsu?"

Too's ace yelped in shock when something cold was placed right on his back. He quickly took it out and found an empty softdrink container that only contained the drink's remaining ice.

"TETSU! YOU BASTARD!"

Kagami watched in amusement as Aomine tripped many times trying to catch his former shadow, who was so thin, small and easy-to-catch. Well, there's the reason that he has misdirection.

Kuroko lightly punched Kise's face as the blonde threw himself and tried to hug him. "OWWWW!" The ever-reflexive copycat grunted and pouted. "Kurokocchi, that's mean!"

"Stop trying to hug me or I'll smack your face right against this big rock right beside me." The teal-head warned and pointed the rock right beside him.

The copycat of the group backed out upon seeing something utterly odd about the rock that his self-proclaimed best friend pointed. Taking step by step backward, he narrowed his eyes and gulped in anxiety for he felt something dangerous enveloping that rock.

"I-I-I-I-I-Is that a face…on the r-r-r-r-rock?"

"N—" Kagami started.

"Yes. Indeed, it is." Kuroko interrupted and casted him a look.

Finally realizing what his partner was trying to do, he pretended to look back at the rock and shrugged with a small smirk. "Now that I think about it, it seems that it is." He commented and snapped his fingers. "Looks like someone fell victim on this rock before, Kise. Better be careful, huh."

With such a warning thrown at him, the blonde sprinted to hide behind his partner, Aomine. "A-A-A-A-Aominecchi! Save me!"

"Dumbass." Was the latter's only response.

Kuroko was observing the others gathered right around him until he felt a new presence right beside him. Blinking, he tried his best to just glance, but his eyes widened a friction when he finally realized who decided to stand on his right. It was none other than the 'Emperor,' Akashi Seijuuro. With crossed arms, the aura he emitted as of the moment was the feeling of being bored, annoyed, irritated and dumbfounded at the same time. The teal-head had no idea how he knew this stuff, yet he couldn't be wrong, could he be?

"Kagami, deal with this asshole!" Aomine growled and pushed the red-head on his left towards the copycat, who trying so hard not to get close with the rock just a meter away from Kuroko's left.

His partner, ever irritable, grabbed Kise and scolded him.

"Look at that pair, I wonder what happened. Atsushi won't tell me its' details, not even a single clue." Akashi whispered under his breath.

Kuroko, engrossed with just the thought that Akashi actually started the conversation, looked towards his East before blinking. "Hm, yes, their behavior really does bring wonder into anyone's mind."

Himuro tiptoed and touched the bandage on Muraskaibara's eyebrow. "Does it hurt?"

"Just a little."

"How about your lip? Did it stop bleeding?"

The center player nodded before leaning his cheek against his partner's hand. "I'm fine now, Muro-chin. You should stop worrying. Stop frowning~ It doesn't suit you."

"Sorry…I just hate seeing you getting hurt."

Kuroko glanced at Akashi. "I think those two are odder, truth be told…"

Akashi then looked at a certain rickshaw where two guys were sitting on. For some reason, the two were able to sneak out to buy crepes. Takao bit on his and then said something. Midorima sighed and then wiped the corner of Takao's lips with his handkerchief. "Be tidy even at moments like this."

"Sorry, sorry~" Takao apologized and sneaked a bite on his partner's own crepe. "Eh~ S'mores~"

"Takao!"

"Yes, it does seem odder to see Shintarou smiling like that than seeing Murasakibara being more adult-like than usual."

Akashi spared a glance at the guy beside him before murmuring, "…Tetsuya."

A bit surprised, the teal-head turned. "Yes?"

Akashi took a step forward and waved a little. "Guys, I and Kuroko will buy some drinks and snacks. Just continue whatever you're doing. Whoever follows after us will be killed."

"Oi—" Kagami started.

Kuroko looked at his 'light' before shaking his head. "It's alright, Kagami-kun."

"But—"

Kuroko followed after the smaller red-head with a small smile on his face.

"Damn this shit." Kagami growled and slumped into one of the benches.

~LFMH021~

With chilly wind surrounding the two of them, Akashi and Kuroko stood before the vending machines as they waited for each of their orders to be reheated.

"Are you avoiding me?" The red-head murmured.

"If I am then I would have never agreed to come with you. I'm just trying to give ourselves some space." Kuroko bluntly replied.

"Then, does that mean I still have a chance for you?"

"…I'm still not entirely sure, Akashi-kun…"

Silence followed after this reply of his, and he was almost in the verge of face-palming himself for what atmosphere he had made when Akashi did the unexpected.

Akashi raised a hand. "Yours."

Kuroko raised his.

The red-head leaned his palm against Kuroko's. The two hands touched each other. The teal-head was about to pull his hand away when the red-head closed his hand, which was why they ended up holding hands. "What—"

"Let's end this Merry-Go-Round. I love you. Will you be mine?" Akashi murmured as he stared directly at Kuroko's honest, clear teal eyes.

"I—"

Depression, insanity, desire, vanity and lots more emotions filled Akashi's eyes, which Kuroko instantly saw. He was not the masochist type, but it was as if he could see himself on Akashi's situation.

He lifted Akashi's lowered chin and placed a small kiss on his lips. "I've always been yours."

He saw shock replace all of those emotions which the red-head possessed earlier.

~LFMH021~

Kuroko looked around and finally found Kagami. "Kagami-kun, your—"

"It's fine. I bought mine earlier on another vending machine."

"Oh, I see—" How did he know we just bought these through a vending machine?

The teal-head looked up at Kagami for answers and the way the latter avoided his eyes answered his suspicions. "Kagami-kun…"

"I'm going home. Just email me when you arrived home. I got lots of things to do."

In an instant, his 'light' disappeared into the crowd.

A/N: YOOOHOOOO! Done, finally!

Thank goodness!

PLEASE DO LEAVE A REVIEW! I'm not actually in the condition, but I did my best. I hope that you still enjoyed it.

SNEAK PEEK:

"We won!" Seirin High players shouted.

Kagami blinked when Kuroko approached him and raised a fist. "Not today, Kuroko…"

"Kagami-kun, please, don't be—"

"I said, not today, leave me alone!" Kagami growled and reflexively pushed Kuroko. Perhaps, due to is stress and anger, he pushed his partner a little stronger than he wanted. Everyone's eyes widened when Kuroko flew backwards and ended up hitting the bench and the water bottles on top of it.

"Kuroko!"

Each's heart began beating so rapidly when the teal-head didn't respond, and didn't move an inch when they called his name out.
