Gods Among Us Chapter 6

Their quarters are wonderful. The living area is much like the Gryffindor common room with squashy sofa and arm chairs. Instead of the red and gold the furniture is ivory with mahogany paneling on the walls. The sofa sits in front of a large stone fireplace with large bookshelves on either side with more flanking the back wall. Who ever decorated knew that Hermione would be living here. There is a large bay window with a window seat that is practically calling Hermione name. To the far left of the room is a dinning area with a table that could easy seat four. Behind the table is a door that leads into a fully functional kitchen and to the right of the kitchen is a hallway that leads to a bathroom and the bedroom.

"I hope this is up to your satisfaction?" Minerva asked briskly. Lovegood had practically thrown her out of their rooms, dragging Longbottom to the bedroom.

"Oh yes Professor. Its absolutely lovely." Hermione gushed as she sat gingerly down on the four poster bed. She will never admit it to Harry, but her stitches hurt like hell.

"Yes Professor, we appreciate everything. How do we get groceries though? I don't see us having many meals in the great hall." Harry frowned as he noticed Hermiones discomfort.

"Just call Dobby, He says he is a friend of yours. He can buy whatever you want as long as you give him access to your vault. Just send a letter to Gringotts with him. They will arrange everything for you."

"Thank you Professor."

"And I must remind you, what happens within these walls stays here. I am not ready to have another generation of Potters to deal with. So please be responsible." Minerva stated, amused with the looks of horror the two teens are giving her. I will be leaving now, If you need anything feel free to floo."

"Thank for everything Professor. It means a lot to me that you trust us." Harry walked Minerva to the portrait door.

"Your more than welcome Potter. Now make Miss Granger rest, I do not see the point of your new powers if you cannot heal." Minerva shook her head and left the couple alone. Harry walked back to the bedroom where Hermione is standing, gazing at the extra bookshelves that lined the walls. Calculating how many books it will take to fill the space.

"Hermione, you need to rest. You don't want to tear anything do you?

"Please Harry, I feel fine. Besides, I need to know how many books I can fit."

"Cant that wait?" Harry sighed, running his hands through his hair.

"No, this is how we are going to prepare for the final battle. We were given these powers for a reason and I intend to figure out why."

"What if I order you some books to study from? That way you can rest and study at the same time, in bed. Just make a list of the topics that you want. Then take a nap, they will be here when you wake up. Is that alright?"

"I suppose that will work. You should also invite Luna and Neville over for dinner. We need to start the battle strategies. I feel like making a roast." Hermione pulled out a roll of parchment and started to write down any topic that came to mind. After ten minutes Hermione handed the scroll to Harry.

"To bed with you." Harry pulled the duvet back watched as she arranged the pillows to be comfortable.

"You don't have to buy me books Harry." Hermione called as Harry was about to shut the door.

"I know I don't have to, I want to." Harry smiled fondly at her and pulled the door shut. Sitting on the sofa he looked over the scroll, not understanding half of what is written on it. He quickly penned a letter to Gringotts allowing money to be taken out of his vault. With a sigh he called for his house elf friend.

"Dobby!"

"Mr Harry Potter called Dobby?" The elves huge eyes filled with happiness to serve.

"Yes, can you please take this letter to Gringotts. After you are done there take this list to Flourish and Blotts. I would like one copy of every topic available on this list. I am giving you permission to take the money out of my vault. Also can you pick up ingredients for a roast and invite Neville and Luna for dinner?" Harry handed the two scowls to the elf. "Thank you Dobby." Harry smiled at his little friend.

"Yous is welcome Mr Harry Potter." Dobby disappeared with a pop. Harry checked that Hermione is indeed sleeping and silently slipped out of the apartment. He moved through the shadows, avoiding anyone he saw. He soon came upon the Gryffindor common room. Quickly moving past the portait door and up the stairs to the boys dormitory. Entering the sixth year boys room he pulled out his wand and smiled. Ron will pay for hurting his woman.

Several hours later Harry came back to their apartment, satisfied with a job well done. They once baron shelves shelves now hold a vast collection of books. He immediately noticed a heavenly smell coming from the kitchen and Hermione is setting the table for four.

"When I told you to get books, I didn't intend for you to buy the entire store." Hermione said not looking up from her work.

"I intend to spoil you rotten. I have the money, why not spend it. Besides its going to a noble cause."

"Whats that?"

"Our future." Harry came up behind her, placing his hands on her hips. Gently turning her towards him.

"You don't have to treat me like a China doll Harry. You cant break me."

"I don't want to risk it love. Your everything to me." He rested his forehead against hers, savoring the closeness.

"Harry?" Hermione murmured.

"Yes?"

"Can you get the roast out of the oven?" Hermione pulled away from him, smiling sadly at his disappointed look.

"Why wont you be close to me? Do you not want to be with me?" Harry asked, hurt written all over his face.

"Of course I want to be with you Harry. I jut dont know what will happen if I get close to you. These powers, I'm almost positive who I got them from. But she never...she never got close to anyone."

"Hermione, all we have are powers. We are not the Gods incarnate. If they didn't want us to live our own lives, they would have possessed us or come down themselves. I'm sure nothing bad will bad will happen." Harry lifted her face, looking into her eyes. He slowly lowered his mouth to hers, half expecting her to pull away. But she didn't. Her lips feel like silk and taste like honey. He deepens the kiss, silently asking permission to enter her mouth, she quickly obliges. This is better than anything he could ever imagine, he could easily spend eternity just like this. Feeding off the love and warmth she radiated.

"Well isn't this cute." Luna smiled, Harry pulled away with a groan.

"Haven't you ever heard of knocking?" Harry snapped. Luna smiled wider while Neville looked slightly embarrassed.

"We did mate, for a good five minutes." Neville answered.

"I'll get the roast." Hermione hurried out of the room, clearly embarrassed. Luna followed with a bounce in her step.

"So, how was it?"

"How was what?" Hermione pulled a large pan out of the magical oven that cooks food in half the time.

"Harry? We did just walk in on you and you have been alone for hours."

"Actually after we got settled I took a nap, and when I woke up Harry was gone. Then I made dinner. That is the first time we have kissed." Luna looked disgusted. "There are more important things than sex Luna.

"That may be. But are there are not many things more important than love. And that is something you both are lacking. I am aware that the powers I was given are not very useful for war. But that doesn't mean I do not have a purpose. Please listen to me. You and Harry need each other more than you may realize. I know that Neville and I are now complete since we found each other." Hermione has never seen Luna looks so serious before.

"Alright Luna. I will move things along with Harry. But I am not going to sleep with him until we are both ready."

"I can respect that." Luna smiled at her friend. Glad she isn't going to deny herself or Harry of the love they both deserve.

"Oh, and next time don't use your love voodoo on us. I could tell as soon as you did it." Hermione lifted the tray of food and left Luna frowning in the kitchen.

"It looks great love. Although I dont know how you had the time." Harry spooned potatoes on his plate.

"The oven reduces cooking time in half, it only took an hour. I found the manual besides the stove. I wish we had these in the muggle world. My mum would love it." Hermione said as she raised her fork to her mouth, pausing half way.

"What is it?"

"My parents." Hermione paled.

"What about them." Harry asked frowning.

"How am I going to explain this to them? I cant just show up to the Christmas holidays like this! Your family's have already read about it in the paper. Mine don't read the Prophet."

"Don't worry, we will tell them together. Write to them and tell them we will be visiting soon. I will be there for you." Harry smiled and held her hand, reassuring her that everything will be fine. "Now eat, you need your strength."

"And how are we getting out of the castle, let alone to Devon."

"We fly of course." Harry smiled as Hermione once again paled.
