CHAPTER 6: THE SIN

~AT CROSS ACADEMY

Kaname was now leaning against the same window same spot occupied by kasumi earlier and was gazing at the moon half hidden behind grey clouds. When it HIT him, the most desirable smell, it was lingering around his nostrils making his eyes glow blood red. It was the he had desired since many years but his senses ticked and every cell of his brain was shouting the same question

'WHO?'

He raced towards the origin of desirable smell but no one was there, no yuki and no vampire. His heart was racing badly and he could not stand the sight of his dear yuki being bitten by someone.

He was thinking about every possible suspect from night class and his eye's narrowed as realization hit him. The level B vampire was the only girl wandering alone in academy grounds and he could sense her presence from before. Because no one in night class would dare to have their pureblood princess blood and zero was now stable.

"You will pay for this, I always knew you are trouble" said kaname.

~AT TOWN

It was quarter past three and town seem fully deserted as vampire hunters were soundly asleep leaving vampire's to plot against them in dark. If there weren't street light and the chimney's shoving smoke from fire place anyone could have rated town's population to be zero. Despite all this a level B vampire was wandering on street, who had just returned from dark forest that beholden her secret and a rather comforted expression was plastered on her face first time tonight as if she had found solution for her biggest problem.

~FLASH BACK

RING RING-RING RING

"HELLO"

"AKARI?"

"HIME-SAMA, WHERE ARE YOU, I WAS SO WORRIED I THOUGHT..."

A FAMININE VOICE CUT HIM.

"I CAN ONLY ASSURE YOU THAT I AM FINE TILL NOW AND I DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME I WANT YOU TO DO SOMETHING FOR ME"KASUMI SAID IN HUSHED VOICE.

"JUST NAME IT AND IT WILL BE DONE, I AM YOUR FAITHFUL SERVANT HIME-SAMA"

"HMMM… I WANT YOU TO MEET HITOSHI AND DO HIM A GREAT FAVOUR"

"Aaaa… MEET HIM? AND FAVOUR?"

"YES GO AND TELL HIM THAT YOU HAVE TRACED THE HOLY SWORD AND YOU INTEND TO SERVE HIM FROM NOW ON"

"WHAAAT? YOU WANT ME DIRECT HIM TO HOLY SWORD?"

"WHO SAID YOU WILL BE HONEST TO HIM, ALL WILL BE FINE YOU JUST HAVE TO ACT AND DON'T FEED THIS SECRET TO ANYONE?"

"HAI…"

"TAKE CARE"

"UM… YOU TOO HIME-SAMA" AKARI REPLIED WITH UNSUALL DAMPNESS IN HIS EYES, HE WAS KASUMI'S FAITHFULL SERVANT SINCE A DECADE,WHO WAS ALWAYS TREATED AS CLOSE FRIEND BY HER AND HOW COULD HE AFFORD TO SEE HIS LOVING FRIEND HANGING FROM CLIFF.

kasumi had just reached the academy gate when she heard loud voices, no wait it sounds like a quarrel, a fight. She half ran towards the scene of commotion which was in front of sun dormitory and found pureblood in explosive rage.

"How come nobody saw that happening" kaname was demanding his answer from every night class student.

"kaname… we can talk this out inside the dorm, you are making a scene" to everybody's surprise kasumi spoke. All eyes were on her but wait her statement wasn't the only reason she could guess by intensity of their gazes.

The night class eyed him with bewilderment as if she had grown two heads but kasumi could not guess why?... kaname eye twitched at the sight.

"no you and I need to talk" he blunted rudely.

Kasumi was quite to let him finish because nothing made sense, all she can smell is some unknown blood but she still believes that whoever did it mustn't be insulted publically.

"You are not that to fool a pureblood and the sin you committed can not be hidden"

"What do you mean?" kasumi demanded in equal coldness but confused.

"You bit yuki, my yuki and you think you can get away with that?" kaname said through his teeth.

Kasumi eye's were first wide and then narrowed, she was shocked.

"Don't act innocent, I know your kind they are the reason that we pureblood suffer a deadly fate".

Kasumi froze in her place.

"Your kind is not more then hungry beasts for power and even worse then animals" kaname was shouting like a mad dog.

No one had ever saw him losing control over his emotions may be because he knew he will be alone forever and there is no chance for yuki to come back. Or may be the pain tortured him for staying beside yuki and staying away from her at the same time.

Kasumi was deep in thoughts as she was playing a piece of old memory in her mind

"So you think he will remember you, he will adore you?" hitoshi asked coldly.

"No but I can say he can protect me even from you, I trust him and no memory charm can break my connection with him" replied 16 year old kasumi.

"Then I suggest you to give it a try" the suggestion was followed by the evil laugh in multi voices from hitoshi same as kasumi spoke in the night she got stabbed. She could hear that laugh ringing in her ears now and she could imagine hitoshi voice saying

'I TOLD YOU'

She was so deep in her head that she didn't knew when kaname voice from background disappeared and kain arrived informing kaname that kasumi isn't the guilty one he saw it happening it was zero. Few murmurs and gasps were heard from night class and kaname cursed himself mentally. He turned towards kasumi to make thing right but it was too late. Kasumi was long gone by now with her super speed leaving gash of wind behind.

Kasumi was racing towards the gate and something so fragile was broken in her chest as it was stabbed with sharp words. This was the second time in her life to feel such a pain. She experienced it first when her half soul, her twin betrayed her and secondly today as the castle of trust came down like the house of cards. The trust she did 14 years ago at the night of haruka and juri's death along with two most important people to kasumi about whom no one knows.

~AT ZERO'S TRAINING ROOM

BANG

BANG

BANG

Zero was shooting one after another bullet right at the target board to lessen his anger but nothing helped as he was too mad at himself.

He had bitten yuki again, on the night he wanted to confess but he ruined everything. How could he confess after drinking her blood, after exposing his inner animal, he could not face yuki.

'I am not more then a filthy animal' zero scolded himself dropping the empty magazine and putting the loaded one.

'She would think I only desire for her blood and she mean nothing to me'

BANG

'My inner monster thrusts for her blood'

BANG

'I am no different to that blood sucker'

Bang

'she cried because of me'

BANG

'I always hurt her'

BANG

'She deserve someone better then me'

BANG

'May be that blood sucker'

BANG

'No I can't stand to let her go, I hurts'

BANG

'Does it matter?'

BANG

"GO AWAY YUKI GO AWAY" zero shouted knowing that she couldn't hear him. He banged his palm against the near mirror in frustration totally unaware of chaos created outside due to his actions earlier. And then he saw some illusion of yuki drinking his blood at dorm's terrace, was it just his mind playing games or did it happened before he could get the right answer.

Zero didn't understood that yuki cried not because it hurts because she missed the feeling of him drinking her blood, her blind love was unknown to zero but now in her room she was crying her eyes out because zero left her when his senses hit him that what was he doing and yuki couldn't stop to blame herself.

Caller ID named as akira-san was displayed on the screen but kasumi dropped the call and switched it off, throwing her cell at the near by grave as she just entered in the depth of forest which held few memorial graves to kasumi.

She kneeled down totally broken, blood tears dripping from her eyes covering her cheeks. She felt the pain in her heart and that has nothing to do with the wound from last night.

She rubbed the mud away from near by grave stone which held name printed in emboss writing.

'Sarah katashi tairan'

Kasumi did not bothered to rub the third tomb but sat by placing her back to its grave stone after kissing it for few long minutes. It was the only way to sooth herself. She closed her eyes when beautiful picks of past flicked through her mind containing her and his identical twin and she murmured

"I STILL LOVE YOU"

How was it hmmm?

Well as it is hinted next chapter will fully contain the twin's past and their uncompleted love plus the reason crack between their bond and did anyone noticed that kasumi have some past with kaname and her dear one's also died on the same night as haruka and juri. Wonder what that is… well I know what that is it's you how don't hehe.
