Tolys awoke. He was surrounded by blurs of greens and browns. He blinked his eyes again. He was in the forest. In the exact same condition he was the previous morning. No shirt, ripped pants, a few blood stains on his pants. He looked around the forest. This place looked familiar somehow. He stood up and walked towards the light. When he reached the clearing he saw a small house in the distance. Then he remembered. That's Abel's house. He walked towards the house. I know where I am now at least, I can make my way home. He continued on towards the place that was familiar. He hoped Feliks wasn't too worried. He had the feeling he was getting suspicious.

"Hey! You!" Tolys jumped. He slowly turned around. Behind him was the muscular form of Abel.
"Ah! Oh hey…Abel…" he said nervously. Abel glared at him.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"Um…I was just…leaving..." Tolys stuttered. Abel's look then looked sympathetic.

"I uh...I heard you took quite a mauling since the party. I hope you're okay," he said.
"O-Oh, um...yeah. I'm fine now. That was a few months ago," he stuttered.
"Oh, I'm glad you're alive," he said, "Hey, you're a cool guy Toris. But your roommate-"
"Is a total ass, I know. But, you think I'm cool?" Tolys asked.
"Yeah. You and I should have a joint some time," he invited.

"I um...don't smoke," stated Tolys.
"Then maybe a brunch then sometime?" Abel suggested.
"Yeah, that sounds nice," he replied.

"If you need anything, go ahead and ask," Abel gave a small smile, "See you around Toris." He went back to his home.
"It'sTolys!" he called after him. He sighed in relief. Wow, Abel feels sympathy for me. This is weird, but I'm not complaining! He then continued home.

When he got home, Tolys tried to sneak in as quietly as possible. The house looked fairly clean. At least I didn't mess anything up last night. He looked at the clock. 8:30 am. Feliks should hopefully be asleep. He quietly crept up the stairs. He poked his head inside the bedroom. Feliks was in his bed, slightly snoring. Tolys quietly snuck into his bed. He was surprisingly tired and he didn't want to be questioned when Feliks awoke. Feliks would hopefully think he went out and came home late. It was a perfect plan.

Tolys awoke again to his alarm at 9:00. It was a weekend, but he still had an alarm. It was probably 9:15 now. He hit the snooze button quite a few times. He looked at the bed next to him. Feliks's messy bed was empty. He yawned as he got up from the bed. He threw on some clothes and went to look for his room mate. He went downstairs and saw Feliks in the kitchen with a few rolls and some jam.

"You're up early," said Tolys, "I thought you liked to sleep in."
"I had to get up to let the window repair guy in," he replied, "Something broke the window in the bathroom." Crap. "Where were you last night? Did you come home after like 2 am?"
"Around 3 I think," lied Tolys, "I ran into a bit of trouble."
"What now?" Feliks rolled his eyes and took a bite of his roll.

"I ran into Abel this morning," he said. Well, that technically isn't a lie. Feliks took one big swallow and began coughing.
"What?! Are you okay?" he asked after the coughing subsided.
"Yeah, we ended up talking for a while," replied Tolys honestly.
"Wow, that's unexpected," scoffed Feliks, "You guys all buddies now?"
"Well, he did invite me to brunch," said Tolys.

"Wow, I guess you totally lost track of time."
"Yeah. Wait, what time is it?" Tolys asked.
"Like, 9:40. Why?"
"Crap! I have to get ready!" Tolys ran up the stairs to prepare for his date.

The date went fairly well. All fingers were intact as well as all bones and internal organs. Natalya found that she actually enjoyed herself. He had never truly seen her smile before. He felt satisfied with their date. The two now lay in a blanket, having a night time picnic.

"Why does everyone call you Toris?" she asked, "Your real name is Tolys. Why do people call you Toris?"
"You know how W Academy has 2 campuses? The one in Japan and the one here in New York," he explained, "I was at the one in Japan for a while during junior high. There is no L sound in the Japanese language, so my name was written out in Japanese characters as Toris. When I came here, they transcribed everything to English again, but the L was lost in translation. So all the teachers thought my name was Toris for a year. Many kids still call me that to this day."

"I'm calling you Tolys. Fuck Japan," she said. He smiled.
"Thank you. It gets really annoying after a while," he said.
"Hey…Thank you. You know, for the food and stuff. I had fun today."
"I'm glad you did," he replied.
"N-Not that i would want to date you…I just thought hanging out was fun," she defended.
"That's fine by me," he said. There was suddenly a rustling in the bushes.

"What was that?" Natalya wondered, "Is someone spying on us?"
"I'll go see," he began to get up, "Hey! You–whoa!" Tripping over his own feet, he fell. right onto Natalya. She was flat on her back, him straddled on top of her. She gave another emotionless face. He looked down at her. It took a moment for the two to process. Something caught his eye. Tolys stared at his left hand in horror. First of all, it was on her breast. Second, his fingernails were long and black. He felt his heart stop. He slowly looked up at the moon. It was full and bright. No…why now? Why here?! Why does it have to be now?! He quickly got up off of her and retreating to the opposite side of the blanket. He hid his hands under his coat behind him. Come on…try to hold it in…

"Agh! I'm so sorry about that! I-I–"
"I'm fine," she said emotionlessly.
"You sure?"
"I'm still alive…" she assured, "You're a really good cook, admittedly," she complimented.
"A-Ah! Really?" Tolys felt his fangs coming in.
"Everything was really good," she said.
"Mm hm!" he nodded, stuffing a biscuit in his mouth. Owwww…why did I do that? It hurts worse when I eat!
"As much as I hate to admit it, I had fun. Now if only Feliks wasn't so obnoxious, then I would hang around you more…" he spaced out. He could feel his skin crawl and itch. He sat there trying to resist scratching.

"Are you okay?" asked Natalya. He snapped back into reality.
"Y-Y-Yes why?" he mumbled nervously. He was shaking and felt sick to his stomach.
"You're sweating and your face is red," she put a hand on his forehead, "You feel very hot. What–"
"I-I-I-I-I got to go. I'm n-n-not feeling well," he stammered, "See you around bye!" He dashed off, leaving her there.

Tolys dashed into the house. He stumbled up the stairs to get to the bathroom. He didn't even check to see if anyone was home. He locked himself in the bathroom as fast as he could. He looked in the mirror. He now had shaggy sideburns and fur was all over his arms and legs. His pointy ears stuck out from the top of his head and a tail lashed anxiously behind him. He felt pain wrack his body again. He whined in pain, collapsing on the floor. This is unbearable. Is this how it's going to be for the rest of my life? I don't want to live this way. He heard a knock on the door.

"Tory?"

Feliks. Oh no!
"Tory! I know you're in there! Please, it's me!"
"Go away Feliks," Tolys groaned, curling up in a ball. His fangs gave him a slight lisp.
"Tory, what is going on? You sound like you're in pain and stuff! I'm coming in!"
"NO!" he cried out, "Please…Feliks don't come in. I don't want you to see me like this."
"See you like what? Tory, what is going on?"
"Feliks…" he sighed, "Just go. Please get out of here before you get hurt."
"No! You're my best friend Tolys. No matter what is wrong, I will like, be there for you!"
"You wouldn't think that if you saw me. I'm so repulsive…ugh don't you understand?! You're going to get hurt or die if you stay here! Just go!"
"What are you–"

"GO AWAY!" he then let out a cry of pain.
"Tory? I'm coming in!"
"Feliks no!" Suddenly the door caved in, breaking the lock.

"Holy shit!" exclaimed Feliks, "I just kicked down another door! I feel ultra badass!" He then remembered his situation. "Alright Tory what is s…" He then saw his shaking friend balled up in a corner. He gaped in horror at what his friend had become. Fur covered his body. Long, dark nails clawed at the floor. Ears were flattened against his head and his tail limp. He was mostly wolf now, but Feliks could see his friends face, twisted in anguish, sharp teeth formed into a grimace. He took a couple steps back, clenching the silver rod tighter. "Oh Bóg…" he gasped, "D-Don't worry Tory. I-I can fix this. He said I could. This will only hurt for a s-second…" He pulled out the silver rod from behind his back. Tolys whined a dog's whine. Feliks had tears in his eyes. "I-I'm sorry…" he raised the rod. Fear reflected in Tolys's green eyes. The tears ran down his face. Tolys closed his eyes, bracing for death. Feliks then lowered the rod. "I…I can't do it! I can't do that to you!" He then hugged his furry friend. Tolys smiled whatever smile he could. He let out a low coo. He then felt another strong jolt of pain and cried out. Feliks backed away to the wall. "T-Tory?" Feliks closed his eyes, refusing to watch his friend make his final, agonizing transformation. Tolys let out a howl of pain. Feliks was shaking.

Then it stopped. Everything stopped. Everything was quiet except for low heavy breathing. Feliks slowly opened his eyes. There before him was what appeared to be a giant brown wolf. The wolf was gazing at Feliks with luminous green eyes, causing him to tremble even more. I'm dead. I'm dead. I am so totally dead. The wolf's gaze suddenly softened. It padded towards Feliks with a fearful posture. Feliks looked into its eyes. They weren't glowing anymore. It let out a low moan.

"T-Tory?" Feliks watched as the wolf stood up on its hind legs. It slowly reached out what hardly anyone could call a hand. Feliks slowly touched it. The creature sniffed him, particularly interested in something in his pocket. It flinched and scurried back to the corner. Feliks was confused. It cowered back to the other side of the room. He then remembered: that herb that that man had given him. He said to keep it on him, but never touch it. Was it harmful to Tolys? Or would it cure him? "Ah! Tory! I'm sorry!" The wolf's glowing eyes seemed to glare at him. It looked at the window. Feliks quickly rushed to the window and opened it. "You are not breaking that window again!" The wolf instead charged through the broken down door. Feliks quickly followed after it. He bounded down the stairs to open the front door while the wolf thrashed around the townhouse. He opened the front door. The wolf perked its ears. It then howled before dashing out the door into the night. Feliks sighed. The neighbors would complain. No doubt about that.

"At least nothing got broken," Feliks shrugged.
