Son of Lucario
Chapter 7
Dream . . .
Ash found himself standing under a clear sky on what seemed to be water and, somehow, he's not drowning. This is a dream. Anything can happen. He seems to be confused and a little lost.
"Where am I?" Ash questioned no one in particular, since he is alone, while looking around. He then looked up at the sky smiling. "The sky does look peaceful although. I've never seen anything so beautiful before." The sky then suddenly got shrouded by dark clouds shocking Ash. "What the?! Where did those clouds come from?!"
Suddenly a dark aura came and took form of a big feline with blue glowing eyes while still having the aura making the form black and dark purple. "What is this?!" The dark figure then surrounded itself with blue energy. Suddenly Ash felt a course of pain through him and held his chest and got surrounded by the same blue energy. "What's going on?" He then looked up to see a few lines coming from Ash to the figure and from the figure to Ash.
This got on for a few minutes until the pain stopped and Ash looked up to the figure still seeing the lines connecting both of them. "Who . . . are you?"
'I am the one who will help guide you towards your destiny young guardian.' The figure said with telepathy in a male voice.
"What?" Before the conversation could continue the figure turned quickly back into the aura and circled around Ash. "Now what are you doing?" The aura then collided into Ash making him start to moan, beginning to feel pain again, and exploded making Ash screech.
Ash awoke with a start, breathing heavily. He felt cold sweat on his face and wiped it off. 'Man. That was some dream.' Ash thought. He then saw the blue energy from his right hand. 'Was it a dream? Or was it not? It felt so real. I wonder what it means.' He then turned to see his father, Lucario, asleep on his left and Gardevoir on his right. Then he saw Pikachu also asleep on his lap. He also saw the tree trunk they are sleeping then saw the campsite and Misty and Brock asleep in their sleeping bags.
"Good thing my sudden start didn't wake anyone up." Ash said in relief. He proceeded back to his hands and the blue energy appeared again only this time it is all over his body. Suddenly he clutched his head in sudden pain. "What's-" He tried his best not to groan, but as he tried to hold back the pain began to worsen as it hit. He leaned back against the tree hoping it would stop. It didn't. The pain got worse each and every moment. The headache got so bad Ash got knocked out.
In a lab on a mystery island, there were many scientists around. There was also a big machine that is also a computer. There is also a tube that contains a big feline figure Pokémon almost the size of the figure Ash encountered. The Pokémon seems to be asleep in the tube. Some wires were also attached to the Pokémon to read its heartbeat and brainwaves. Suddenly psychic energy came and surrounded the Pokémon making the machine reading its brainwaves go crazy.
"Dr. Fuji! Come take a look at this!" One of the scientists exclaimed.
The lead scientist, known as Dr. Fuji, quickly ran to the scene and saw the out-of-control waves shocked. "What's going on?"
"The subject's psychic powers have activated!" The other scientist said.
"Should we inject the serum again?" The first scientist asked.
Dr. Fuji shook his head and turned to the sleeping Pokémon. "No." The other scientists looked at him confused. "Wait and see what happens." After a few moments the brainwaves started to calm, but the Pokémon still has the psychic energy around it. "See? Nothing to worry about."
"So now what?"
"We get back to work." Everybody did what Dr. Fuji said and went back to their business leaving the sleeping Pokémon still surrounded with psychic energy.
Ash's subconscious . . .
Ash opened his eyes to find himself in a shroud of darkness instead of a sea and a clear sky. He looked around and saw that he is floating instead of standing.
"Is this another dream?" Ash asked mostly to himself. "All I remember is being knocked out from that massive headache. I wonder if anybody else is here." He got his answer when he saw a big feline Pokémon that pretty much has the same shape as the dark aura figure he encountered in his dream. He slowly approached the figure cautiously.
The Pokémon noticed Ash coming its way. 'Who are you?' It asked with telepathy in a male voice.
Ash stopped in shock. It definitely sounded like the dark aura he encountered. How should he talk to the Pokémon? "Uh . . . I'm Ash. What's your name?"
'Name?' The Pokémon asked confused.
Ash nodded. "Yeah. A name. It's a word that identifies a person or a Pokémon. Like 'Ash' is my name."
'Oh.' The Pokémon began trying to remember its own name. 'I . . . can't remember.'
"You don't remember your name?"
The Pokémon shook its head. 'All I remember is Mew . . . something.'
Ash's eyes widened in shock. "Mew?! As in the legendary Mew?"
The Pokémon nodded. 'There was another part of the 'Mew', but I just can't seem to remember.'
"Another Mew, eh? Well that kinda makes sense since you kind of look like Mew and your auras are similar." Ash then thought of a name for the mystery Pokémon. "Could it be Mewtwo?"
'Mew . . . two.' Mewtwo nodded. 'That's right. That's my name.'
"Mewtwo." Ash smiled. "That's a mouthful." Mewtwo suddenly chuckled making Ash chuckle as well. "Anyway. It's nice to meet you Mewtwo."
Mewtwo nodded, smiling. 'You too Ash.' Suddenly Mewtwo turned into a small, little kid version of himself and Ash turned into a seven-year-old version of himself. 'So Ash. Where are you from?'
"I live in a small town called Pallet." As soon as he said that the shroud turned into the center of Pallet Town. "What the?!"
'You're expressing your memory.'
"What do you mean 'expressing my memory'?"
'When you think of a memory the image in your mind materializes into that particular image.' Mewtwo explained.
"Oh. Well anyway. This is pretty much where I live. This is Pallet Town."
'Wow.' Mewtwo said looking around. 'Your town looks peaceful.'
Ash nodded. "Yeah. It does, doesn't it. Now, would you also tell me where you're from?"
Mewtwo blushed in embarassment. 'I don't know where I came from.'
"You don't know where you were born in?" Mewtwo shook his head. "That stinks."
'But I do remember this.' With that Mewtwo made the image of Pallet Town go and replaced it with a field of grass. The clear blue sky had many clouds floating.
"Wow! It's so beautiful!" Ash said admiring the scenery. "This is where you live?"
Mewtwo shook his head. 'I don't really know. I just have a memory of this place.'
"Nice." Suddenly something round touched Ash's legs making the latter look down and see it was a ball. He looked around to see if anybody rolled the ball and found no one. He picked up the ball and looked toward Mewtwo and pointed at it in a matter of saying 'That you?'
'Sorry. I created that ball because I thought you could stay a while and play with me. It gets pretty lonely without having anybody else.' Mewtwo said sadly.
Ash can't help but shed a few tears. Poor Mewtwo had been alone for what must have been years. How could he refuse after hearing such a sad story? "I suppose I can stay and play a few games with you."
Mewtwo perked up and smiled. 'Really?'
Ash nodded. "Although I hadn't played any games in forever." He then threw the ball to Mewtwo, who which caught it with his psychic powers.
'That's okay. We're just gonna play a few games.' Mewtwo said throwing the ball back to Ash. They both then played lots of fun childish games. Like tag, hide-n-seek and even just chasing each other around, they were having fun. Ash was having the most fun. He hadn't been this happy since Lucario trained him and he barely had any contact with other kids his age.
After what seemed like hours of playing, both Ash and Mewtwo are now lying on the grass looking up on the clouds. That was more than the few games Ash was expecting, but who was he to complain? "That was the most fun I had in years." Ash said.
'Me too.' Mewtwo said agreeing with Ash's statement. 'Hey Ash.' Ash turned towards Mewtwo. 'What's your life like?'
"My life?" Mewtwo nodded. "My life is great! I'm currently on a Pokémon journey to become a Pokémon Master!"
'A journey? That sounds fun.'
"It is. When I got on my journey I met some new people and gained new friends, human and Pokémon."
'Friends, huh? Ash?'
"Yeah?"
'Can we be friends?'
Ash smiled. "Of course! We already are friends, aren't we?"
Mewtwo smiled after hearing that. 'You're really considering me as a friend?!'
Ash nodded. "Why not?" He then sat up turning back into his 10-year-old self. "We'll be friends forever."
'Forever?' Mewtwo also sat up turning back into his real shape. He then nodded. 'Yeah. Forever.' Both human and Pokémon stood up and faced each other. The field then turned back into the shroud of darkness.
"I should probably head back morning must have come by now." Ash said after a few moments of silence.
'Wait. Before you go I'd like to give you something.' Mewtwo said. With glowing blue eyes he used his psychic powers and created a bright light making Ash cover his eyes.
Uncovered his eyes Ash saw a necklace with a blue crystal and a gold outline around the crystal. "Wow. It's very thoughtful."
'Well. Don't be shy. Put it on.' Ash took the necklace from the air and put it around his neck. 'It looks good on you.'
Ash nodded in agreement. "It sure does. Thank you Mewtwo."
'I'm glad you like it. That will represent our friendship.'
"This necklace?" Mewtwo nodded. Ash then smiled once again. "Then I will always wear it."
'I will appreciate it.' Soon Ash began to fade in front of Mewtwo. 'See you soon.'
Ash nodded. "Count on it." Ash's form then faded away.
Ash opened his eyes wearily and sat up from the tree trunk. 'Ugh. That was the worst headache I've ever gotten.' Ash thought. 'Was the time with Mewtwo real or is it just a dream?'
"Well. Looks like somebody's finally awake." Ash turned to see Lucario leaning against the tree. "Looks like last night's training really took a toll on you. You've been asleep longer than you normally sleep in."
"Huh? Oh yeah." Ash said. "I just has the most wonderful dream. I was playing with a new friend." He half-lied. To tell the truth he still doesn't know if spending time with Mewtwo was really a dream.
"Oh yeah? Who was your new friend?"
"Like I said. It was just a dream. That new friend doesn't really exist."
"Well wake up!" Suddenly Pikachu jumped onto Ash's lap making the latter look towards him. "Because breakfast is ready!"
"Since when?!"
"It was ready while you were asleep." Ash turned to see Gardevoir standing near the campsite with Brock and Misty. "We all decided to wait until you decide to awake. I hope you had a good sleep."
"Thanks for your concern." Ash said with a hint of sarcasm. "I'll be there in a minute."
"Don't take too long." Pikachu said hopping off Ash's lap and headed towards the campsite.
"What Pikachu said or else the food will be gone." Lucario said with a smirk walking with Pikachu.
"Don't mind them. Take as much time as you need." Gardevoir said.
"Thanks." Gardevoir nodded and walked towards the campsite as well. Ash took a deep breath and looked down. He was shocked at what he saw on his chest. 'The necklace Mewtwo gave me.' He grasped it and smiled. He really did make a friend from Mewtwo. More importantly there really is a Mewtwo and Ash met him. One thing was sure. "That was no dream." Ash then stood up and clutched the necklace tighter and smiled. 'Mewtwo. I promise we'll see each other again.' He then walked towards the campsite to get some breakfast before it was gone.
After breakfast the group decided to go on and hike Mt. Moon. After a while Brock decided to break the ice by telling an old legend. "Have you guys heard about the meteor that crashed into Mt. Moon in the prehistoric time?"
"You mean the legend of the Moon Stone?" Ash asked. "Yeah. I've heard of it. But I never truly believe it myself."
"Neither do I." Misty said. "I mean isn't it just a legend?"
"Maybe." Brock said. "Or maybe not. I heard it was never found yet. Scientists are working very hard into accomplishing that goal."
"Well they better have some luck finding an item from a legend." Ash said.
"Personally I'd say they're just going on a wild goose-chase." Pikachu said on Ash's right shoulder.
"I wouldn't say that." Gardevoir said. "Sure it's difficult to find a legendary item from the past, but I wouldn't say it's impossible."
"Oh yeah. Like some scientist who is researching on the legend would just come out and scream that they found it right now." Lucario said sarcastically. Suddenly a man's scream was heard making the group stop walking.
"What was that?" Misty asked.
"Lets go find out." Ash suggested already running to the source.
"Wait up!" Lucario, Gardevoir, Misty and Brock ran after Ash.
Soon the group found themselves near the foot of a mountain when they saw a scientist being attacked by a flock of Zubat screaming for help. "A scientist just screamed for help from the Zubat." Ash said looking towards Lucario.
"That is different." Lucario said.
Ash took out his Pokédex and pointed it towards the Zubat. "Zubat, blind Pokémon with supersonic powers. Zubat live in caves and hate to fly outside in daylight." The Pokédex said.
Ash put the Pokédex away and looked confused. "But it is daytime. Why are they out here attacking that scientist?"
"I'd hate to break this little conversation up, but we gotta help that man!" Gardevoir said.
Ash nodded in agreement. "She's right." He then turned to the other two. "Lets go help him!" The group then ran towards the attack and managed to scare the Zubat away.
The scientist ran towards the group. "Oh thank you! Thank you! You kids really saved my hide!"
Ash shook his head. "Don't worry about it."
"We're just glad that you're alright." Misty said.
"But why would Zubat be out here now in the daytime?" Pikachu asked.
Ash shook his head. "No idea. Why did those Zubat attack you? And why are they here outside when it's daytime right now?"
"I could tell you right now, but could you give your names first?" The scientist asked.
"Oh! Yeah, sorry. My name's Ash. And these three are Pikachu, Lucario, and Gardevoir." The three waved as Ash introduced themselves.
"Hi. I'm Misty." Misty introduced.
"And my name's Brock." Brock introduced.
"I'm Seymour." The scientist, known as Seymour, introduced. "I'm a scientist working at the Pewter Museum of Science."
"So that means you live in Pewter City." Ash said.
Seymour nodded. "I sure do. And I must say I've never seen Pokémon like those before!" He said while looking at Lucario and Gardevoir.
"Yeah. Lucario is a Pokémon from a region called Sinnoh and Gardevoir is from the Hoenn region."
"Fascinating." Seymour then looked at the necklace Mewtwo gave Ash. "And what an amazing necklace you have here! Where did you get it?"
"Yeah Ash." Misty said. "Where did you get that necklace?"
"This?" Ash asked grasping the necklace and smiled. "A friend gave it to me."
"What friend?" Brock asked.
"It was actually long before I met you guys that I got it."
Gardevoir sensed something quick from Ash. "I detect a lie."
"Me too." Lucario said.
"Ohhhhh!" Pikachu said. "Ash, you're lying to us!"
"Anyway. Why would Zubat come out and attack you?" Ash asked Seymour quickly changing the subject.
Seymour frowned. "Because Mt. Moon was disturbed."
"What do you mean?" Brock asked.
"Someone installed lanterns. And they are disturbing the Pokémon living in the cave including the Zubat!"
The group was shocked. "But why would they do that?" Misty asked.
"I believe they are doing this to get the legendary Moon Stone."
"What?" Ash got dumbstrucked. "That old legend actually is real?"
Seymour nodded. "Yeah. I have been studying it for years. The Moon Stone was a meteor that-"
"I know about the legend. I just never believed it myself. Now I feel dumb."
"Me too." Misty said agreeing.
Seymour waved it off. "Don't worry. Not a lot of people believe it themselves. Anyway, yeah, whoever set up those lanterns are after the Moon Stone. If they get their hands on it, not only their Pokémon will get stronger, but the Pokémon who lived in outer space will never get back since the Moon Stone was also the spacecraft."
"That's terrible."
"The Pokémon will not get back into space." Brock said.
"We can't let that happen!" Lucario said.
Ash nodded. "Right. We'll just take out those lights!"
"You will?" Seymour asked hopefully.
"Yeah. I care about Pokémon a lot. It breaks my heart when I see them sad. That's why there is no way I'm gonna let that happen!"
"Wow Ash." Misty said . "I never knew that you love Pokémon."
"There's a lot of things you don't know about me."
"Ash is really determined." Gardevoir said.
"Makes me glad to say 'I raised him myself.'" Lucario said proudly.
'He really does have a pure heart.' Gardevoir thought. 'That is why I chose him to be my trainer. And a really great friend.' She then began to think of all the possible things her crush would have done.
"Now lets go and put out those lights so the Pokémon can have peace again!" Ash said breaking Gardevoir from her thoughts. The group then headed into a cave at the foot of the mountain. "Did you see how many lanterns were in here Seymour?"
Seymour nodded. "Unfortunately, they're all around the mountain."
"What!" The group exclaimed.
"Great. Now what do we do?" Misty asked.
"We split up." Ash suggested making everybody turn to him. "It'll take us a day to get them all together."
"I was about to say the same thing." Brock said. "It'll be much quicker if we spread out."
"Right. Me and my Pokémon will go this way. You guys can decide yourselves." Ash said walking in a random direction along with Pikachu, Lucario and Gardevoir.
"Hey wait!" Misty yelled. Too late, the four are too far to hear her now. Misty then sighed. "Well I guess that just leaves-" She turned to see Brock and Seymour gone. They must have gone a direction while she was trying to get Ash's attention. "Aw, c'mon!"
We now find Ash and the three traveling Pokémon immediately taking out a lantern with ease. "Lets keep going." Ash suggested starting to walk again.
"While we're dealing with the lights, why don't you tell us the real truth?" Gardevoir suggested.
"Huh?" Ash turned to her confused.
"I mean that necklace. Where did you really get it?"
"I'd like to know too." Pikachu said.
"You know you can't lie to us Ash. Especially your own father." Lucario said.
Ash sighed. "I know. Especially since Gardevoir can sense a lie. Okay. I wasn't lying when I said a friend gave it to me."
"What friend?"
Ash smiled. "A Pokémon named Mewtwo."
"Mewtwo?" Pikachu asked confused. "I never heard of such Pokémon."
"Me neither." Lucario said. He turned to Gardevoir. "Is he lying Gardevoir?"
Gardevoir shook her head. "Why are you asking me? You can sense a lie in his aura."
"I know. I just wanna know if you sensed something."
Gardevoir sighed. "I swear. You guys are such idiots. If he lied wouldn't we have sensed it by now?!"
Lucario put his hands up. "Okay. Okay." He then turned towards Ash. "So this Mewtwo. Where did you meet it?"
"I met him in . . . I'd have to say in my mind." Ash answered.
"In your mind?" Pikachu asked. "That seems a little far-fetched, don't ya think?"
"Actually. It is possible if Mewtwo is a Psychic-type." Gardevoir said.
Ash nodded. "Mewtwo is a Psychic-type Pokémon. He entered my subconscious with ease."
"Wow. He must be powerful since can easily enter your mind." Lucario said.
"That or Ash has a tiny mind." Pikachu said causing Ash and Gardevoir to give him a death glare. "Kidding. So what did you do with Mewtwo?"
Ash explained everything he did with Mewtwo from talking to playing games. "After that we promised to be friends forever and gave me the necklace as proof of our friendship."
"That is so sweet." Gardevoir said. "That's what I call a beautiful friendship."
"You and Mewtwo must share a special connection." Pikachu said.
"Yeah." Ash said. "Are you okay with that Pikachu?"
"Yeah! Any friend of yours is a friend of mine. Although if you like Mewtwo more than me we're going to have some serious problems."
"Hey. No worries. I love you all equally. Mewtwo is no exception."
"Ash. That is so nice." Gardevoir said. "We all love you too."
Ash nodded. The group then found another lantern on the wall. "We found another lantern. Lets go take that out."
"On it!" Pikachu said jumping from Ash's shoulder. He then released a Thunderbolt destroying the lantern and landed back on Ash's shoulder. "Easy peasy."
"Good work Pikachu." The group then continued to walk. "Man. This is a drag. How many more lanterns do you think that's left?"
"Not sure." Lucario said. "But with Brock's powerful Pokémon and hoping Misty brought more than that Goldeen and the splitting up plan, I'd say not too much."
Ash smiled. "Yeah. You're probably right." That went on until Ash spotted something shiny on some rocks. "What's that?" He then ran to the rocks with Lucario and Gardevoir following behind. What Ash saw amazed him.
"What is it Ash?" Gardevoir asked as Ash picked something up. He then turned to the other two revealing a round stone that has the same colors as Lucario with an additional red.
"I don't know. Some sort-of stone maybe."
"Actually I can feel some power in that stone." Lucario said.
Ash nodded. "You know. It kind-of resembles you father."
Lucario took the stone from Ash and examined it thoroughly. "It kind-of does."
Pikachu noticed something small and hopped down from Ash's shoulder which the latter noticed. "What is it Pikachu?" Pikachu walked towards the rocks and stopped at two of them that are close together and looked inside.
"There's something else in there!" Pikachu said.
"Huh? Really?" Ash walked to where Pikachu is and looked inside himself to find another shiny object. "You're right!" He croutched down and reached inside and brought the item out. It was a smaller round stone with yellow and bright green colors with a DNA symbol on it. "It's another stone!" He then stood up looking at the stone amazed. "Although this one is a little different, but I can't help but feel that this is as powerful as the other one." The small stone suddenly began to glow making Ash and the Pokémon go shocked. "What's going on?!"
The stone Lucario is carrying began to glow too making Lucario look down at it. Soon it disappeared from Lucario's paws. "Where did the stone go?"
Ash turned to his father. "Didn't you have it?"
"I did, but it disappeared somewhere!" Suddenly Lucario began to glow a bright blue aura. The small stone then began to glow brighter making Lucario become surrounded in that aura.
"Father!" Gardevoir quickly got to Ash's side and Pikachu on Ash's shoulder as soon as the glow got brighter making the three close their eyes. After a few moments the light went down until it is gone. The three opened their eyes and were shocked when they saw Lucario.
Lucario has changed dramatically. His cream fur became longer, and his thighs slimed down. He developed more spikes on the back of his paws, which have turned crimson. His aura-sensing appendages grow longer, and two of them are tipped in crimson. His shoulders also possess a spike each. His aura heightens throughout its body, which formed black markings on his blue fur. The newly formed Lucario let out a powerful roar causing the ground to quake and crack under his feet.
"Whoa!" Ash finally said after a few moments of examing the power. "Father! What happened to you?"
Lucario looked himself over as shocked. "I don't know." He then looked at the stone in Ash's hand and pointed towards it. "I bet it had something to do with that stone you're holding."
Ash looked at the stone himself. "Maybe. Or it must be because of that other stone you were holding."
"But it's gone." Pikachu said.
"Hmm. Maybe not. I'll check the Pokédex." Ash brought the Pokédex out and scanned Lucario. "I knew it! It didn't disappear! According to the Pokédex, you are holding an item. It must be the stone!"
"Well what's it called?" Gardevoir asked.
Ash began to read the Pokédex again. "According to this, it's called 'Lucarionite'."
"Lucarionite? What is that?" Pikachu asked.
"It's probably the stone, but with my name in the front." Lucario said.
Ash put the Pokédex away and looked towards his newly transformed father. "Do you think it's permanent?"
Lucario shook his head. "Nah. It's probably one of those transformations that lasts until the battle is over. I'm sure it'll be over in a minute." Soon the blue aura reappeared and turned Lucario back to his old form. "See?"
"Yeah, but we still don't know why this happened."
"Why don't we ask Prof. Oak if he knows about this?" Pikachu suggested.
Ash began to think. Maybe Prof. Oak would know what this new power is. "That's not such a bad idea. When we get to Cerulean City I'll give the professor a call and see what he knows." They then heard a Pokémon from behind and turned to see a Clefairy holding something, walking not noticing the four. "A Clefairy!" Ash took out the Pokédex and scanned Clefairy.
"Clefairy. This impish Pokémon is friendly and peaceful. It is believed to live inside Mt. Moon, although very few have ever been seen by humans." The Pokédex said.
Ash put the Pokédex away and looked towards the walking Clefairy. "Where do you think it's going?"
"Probably to the Moon Stone." Lucario said.
"Well lets follow it to see." Ash suggested in which Pikachu agreed to.
"Uh, Ash. You do know that Clefairy are very shy, right? Especially to humans?" Gardevoir asked.
Ash nodded. "I know. Which is why we're doing this quietly and sneaky."
"That shouldn't be a problem." Pikachu said with a hint of sarcasm. With that Ash began to follow the Clefairy.
"He is really determined." Gardevoir said.
"That is one of things that makes Ash special." Lucario said. The two then followed after Ash and Pikachu to the Clefairy.
The group of four followed the Clefairy to what seemed to be the top of Mt. Moon. They were very careful following the Clefairy so that it won't get frightened and run away. When they got in there was a gigantic stone in the middle of the room. Ash and the three Pokémon were shocked at the amazing item.
"Wow. This is huge." Ash said.
"This must be the Moon Stone." Lucario said.
"And we have to protect it." Gardevoir said pointing out what their true intention is.
"Right. We will do everything in our power to stop those thieves." Ash said.
"Ash!" The four turned back to see Misty, Brock and Seymour running towards them.
"Hey guys. Finished with the lanterns?"
"We took out a lot of those things." Misty said sounding exhausted. "Hope you did your fair share."
Ash nodded. "How did you guys find us?"
"We saw you guys following the Clefairy and went along as well." Brock said.
"That's a shocker." Pikachu said sarcastically.
"Well anyway. You'll never believe what we found." Ash said turning to the Moon Stone.
The three were amazed at the stone, Seymour being the most out of the other two. "The Moon Stone!" Seymour tried to approach the Moon Stone, but Ash put his arm in front to stop him. "Huh?" Ash pointed to the Clefairy who just put that mysterious stone at the base of the huge Moon Stone with other smaller stones.
"I don't think we should disturb it. We are only here to make sure the Moon Stone stays safe." The stones began to glow confusing everybody but Seymour and the Clefairy. "What's going on? Why are they glowing?"
"Look up in the sky." Seymour said looking upwards. The group looked up and saw that there was a full moon and a starry night sky.
"It's nighttime already!" Misty exclaimed.
"I guess it took us all day to get rid of the lanterns." Brock said.
Ash nodded. "And it looks like the moonlight is making the stones glow." They then heard some what seems to be Pokémon sounds. Suddenly dozens of other Clefairy came out and gathered around the Moon Stone. "Whoa! Look at them all!"
"I wonder why they're all gathering here." Lucario said. The Clefairy then started to dance around the stones. "Looks like I got my answer."
Ash turned his head towards Seymour. "Seymour. What are they doing?"
"They're praying." Seymour answered.
"Praying?" Misty asksed confused.
Seymour nodded. "Remember? The Moon Stone was like a spaceship to the Clefairy. And with the remnants some were to evolve into their final form Clefable."
"Clefable. Lets see." Ash said taking out his Pokédex.
"Clefable, an advanced form of Clefairy. These unique creatures are among the rarest Pokémon in the world." The Pokédex said before Ash put it away.
"That's because they were from outer space, right?"
"Exactly." Seymour said. "With the newly evolved Clefable the Moon Stone would take off into space. That's a dream I want to accomplish."
"Going into space?" Brock asked.
"Yeah. Ever since I was little it had always been my dream to go up into outer space."
Misty smiled. "It's nice to have dreams, isn't it?"
"It sure is." Suddenly an explosion erupted at the top shocking everybody in the cave.
"What's going on?!" Ash exclaimed. The group then heard laughter.
(Skip Team Rocket Motto)
"Not you guys again." Ash said sighing.
"That's right." Jessie said chuckling.
"We're here to take the Moon Stone from this mountain." James said.
"And we're going to succeed." Meowth said.
"A talking Meowth?!" Brock exclaimed.
"Aren't you smart. Too bad you won't hear it for much longer."
"There's no way you're taking the Moon Stone!" Ash yelled.
"You know them Ash?" Gardevoir asked.
Ash nodded. "Team Rocket are a group of bad guys who steal other people's Pokémon. We first met those three at Viridian City when they tried to steal sick Pokémon."
That was then the three Rockets noticed Gardevoir. "Well, well. What do we have here? I've never seen that Pokémon before." Jessie said.
"Perhaps we should steal it." James said.
Ash stood in front of Gardevoir protectively. "There's no way I'm gonna let you three steal Gardevoir!"
"Oh don't you worry." Jessie said.
"Once we take the Moon Stone, we're coming back to get your Pokémon." Meowth said.
"Fat chance we're gonna let that happen!" Ash then took out Butterfree's Poké Ball. "Lets go Butterfree!" He threw the ball releasing Butterfree.
"Go Ekans!" Jessie said throwing a Poké Ball releasing her Ekans.
"Go Koffing!" James said throwing his own Poké Ball releasing his Koffing.
"We'll match you two against two." Brock said pulling out a Poké Ball. "Go Zubat!" He threw the ball making a Zubat come out.
"Brock where did you get that Zubat?" Ash asked confused.
"I actually caught one while we were saving Seymour."
"Aw great. There goes an opportunity to capture one myself."
"Is now really the time to be worried about that?!" Gardevoir said.
Ash nodded. "Right." He turned back to the battle.
"Ekans! Bite that Butterfly!" Jessie ordered. Ekans then charged for Butterfree with open mouth.
"Go Koffing! Tackle the Zubat!" James ordered. Koffing charged at Zubat head on.
"Butterfree, use Gust!" Ash commanded. Butterfree flapped its wings hard to create a gust of wind making Ekans and Koffing to cancel their attacks and blown back.
"Zubat! Go Supersonic!" Brock commanded. Zubat opened its mouth and released a powerful soundwave making the humans to cover their ears. Ekans and Koffing, since they don't have anything to cover their ears, got confused.
"Butterfree! Use Confusion!" Butterfree's eyes glowed light blue making the two Poison-type Pokémon become outlined with the same energy. They were both then pushed back by the Confusion landing in front of Team Rocket shocking the latter.
"That's a very impressive teamwork." Seymour said watching the battle in amazement.
Misty nodded smiling. "Yep. Those two are really great battlers."
Jessie gritted her teeth. "Looks like we're gonna have to change tactics." James nodded in agreement.
"We'll be back for your Pokémon!" Meowth said.
"Koffing! Use SmokeScreen!" James ordered. Koffing released dark green smoke from the holes on its body. The smoke then went around the room making the four humans and the Pokémon cough.
"Father. Go stop Team Rocket before they get away!" Ash said through the connection of aura between him and Lucario.
Lucario nodded. "They're not getting away that easily!" Using his aura sense, he found Team Rocket and ran towards their direction.
Ash quickly took out Pidgeotto's Poké Ball. "I choose you, Pidgeotto!" He threw the ball above the smoke making the avian Pokémon come out.
"What's going on?" Pidgeotto asked looking at the SmokeScreen.
"Pidgeotto! Use Whirlwind to blow the smoke away!" Pidgeotto nodded and quickly flapped its wings to make a strong gust, strong enough to blow all the SmokeScreen away. Everybody in the cave then took a deep breath of the now fresh air. "Thanks Pidgeotto!"
"Anytime Ash." Pidgeotto said.
"But where's Lucario?" Pikachu asked.
Ash quickly turned after hearing that question and saw the three Team Rocket gang and their Pokémon on the ground looking beat up and Lucario standing in front of them. Ash smiled. "Nice work Lucario. We'll take it from here."
Lucario nodded. "Beat them Ash." He then ran back to Ash's side.
The three Team Rocket gang began to sit up after being stopped by Lucario. "Anyone got a lincense plate on that rhino." Jessie said.
"Pikachu! Finish this with Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded making the Rocket gang turn to see a bolt of lightning coming towards them. They panicked and tried to get away, but the Thunderbolt hit them first and exploded sending the three and their Pokémon flying in the air.
"TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" The three yelled together while being sent farther into the sky.
"That was easy." Ash said plainly.
"You did it!" Seymour said running towards them. "The Moon Stone is now safe thanks to all of you."
Ash waved it off. "It's no big deal."
"Thank you! Thank you for everything!" Ash turned to see the Clefairy jumping up and down who said it all together.
"What're they doing?" Misty asked.
"I think they're thanking us." Ash said without trying to cover his secret of understanding some Pokémon language. He then turned to Pidgeotto and Butterfree taking out their Poké Balls. "You guys did great. Return!" Soon a red light came from each ball and enveloped Pidgeotto and Butterfree inside.
Then the Clefairy gathered around the huge Moon Stone as it was still glowing and began to dance around it again. The humans, Pikachu, Lucario and Gardevoir watched, enjoying the scene. As soon as the dancing was stopped, the huge and smaller stones glowed brighter that some Clefairy were enveloped. Ash just kept watching while the others covered their eyes. Seeing this glow light reminds him of the way Mewtwo made the necklace of their friendship.
'Mewtwo. I promise we will meet again.' Ash thought. 'And when we do, lets meet each other again, this time in real life sometime.'
The glow got a dimmer by little by little revealing that the Clefairy that were enveloped evolved into Clefable, surprising Ash. The rest of the group uncovered their eyes and saw the Clefable amazed.
"Amazing!" Seymour said.
"Yeah." Brock said. "That was an amazing display of ceremony." Soon they saw sunlight and looked up to see the sun was about to come up.
"Looks like morning is about to come." Ash said.
"So we stayed awake all night to save an old legendary item and watch Clefairy dance." Misty pointed out.
Ash nodded. "Yep, but it's worth it."
"You can say that again Ash." Pikachu said relaxed.
Ash turned to Seymour. "So are you going back to Pewter City?"
Seymour shook his head. "No. I'm going to stay here with the Clefairy and Clefable."
The group was shocked after hearing that. "Why?" Brock asked.
Seymour looked up in the sky. "I know that someday, sometime they will go back to outer space and I want to go along with them. You understand it has always been my dream to go up into outer spcae."
Ash nodded in understandment. "You don't want to pass up the dream. Make it come true."
"Thanks Ash." Seymour said turning to Ash.
"I hope he achieves his dream." Gardevoir said.
"I know he will." Lucario said. "Just like we will achieve ours, right Ash?"
"You bet!" Ash said through the aura connection. "I will become the world's greatest Pokémon Master alongside you guys. We will be the best." Then the sun fully rose officially making it morning.
The group have now found themselves at the foot of the mountain waving good-bye to Seymour and the Clefairy and Clefable. Soon the three humans and Pokémon stopped waving and are headed towards the split paths with a sign in the middle.
"Next up is Cerulean City." Ash said.
"And our next Gym battle." Lucario said.
Ash nodded. "And we will win it."
"Hey Ash." Brock said. "Take a look at this."
"What is it?" Ash saw the sign had a graffiti. It said 'Gary was here! Ash is a loser!' That got Ash really ticked. If Gary was here, Ash could've pummeled him for doing that.
"Calm yourself Ash." Lucario said breaking Ash from his thoughts.
Ash sighed. "I'm okay." He said through the connection of aura. Then he spoke with his mouth "I'll show that Gary who is the loser. Lets get to Cerulean City!" He then walked on the right path.
"Wait up!" Misty said as she and Brock walked behind him.
"What was that about?" Gardevoir asked.
"I'll tell you later." Lucario said. He and Gardevoir then ran to Ash by his side. The group then kept walking on the path to Cerulean City as a certain red-head became nervous on the way.
And finally done!
Sorry it took me long. I might do that now and then since I have many stories to write.
