Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon. End of story.

I took a deep breath, smelling the fresh air of the Indigo Plateau, and then immediately fell down in exhaustion. Now that any adrenaline left in my system was fading, my entire body felt incredibly heavy. I saw Rick and Gary both sit down immediately after. I heard Kaylee, "Guys, what happened? You're all, you know, suddenly exhausted now."

"Adrenaline … ran out. Can … barely breathe." I said, trying to catch my breath. "Still, I'm amazed I'm conscious right now after all of the action today."

"Yeah, just give us a few minutes and we'll be okay," Gary said.

"Oh, what's wrong, the big morph's are tuckered out?" Kaylee said, apparently looking to get someone mad. I decided not to comment, I couldn't deal with Kaylee starting a fight right now.

I looked back at the Flygon morph we had rescued. "Your arm feeling okay?"

He replied, "I've dealt with worse pain before. What are you planning to do from here?"

"I was going to talk with everyone about our next moves."

"Well, you can speak with your group, and while you're doing that, I'll see if I can get in contact with Lance somehow."

"Are … Are you worried that he'll reject you because of the, you know." I didn't finish the sentence and instead pointed to the feathers.

"I have considered that before, yes. But, I'm hoping he'll accept me for who I am. Of course, I'll have to get up there first. You guys should just stay here."

"Need some help?" I asked.

"No, I'm fine, but thank you for the offer." He got up, suddenly wincing in pain and holding his arm.

"I think we should make sure you don't move that arm too much until we can get more recovery for your arm," I said, cautioning him. "Yo, Kaylee!" I yelled out.

"What?" She yelled back, walking over.

"Can you create a portal from the bottom of the falls to the top of the falls?" I asked, pointing to the places I envisioned that portals going.

"What do you think?" She said, portals immediately appearing where I had pointed.

Lance's Uncle jumped down the portal and waved from the top of the waterfall. I waved back and looked at Kaylee trying desperately to not look tired. "You tired now?" I said, a smirk on my face.

She recovered and snapped back "Oh, be quiet."

"I'll be back in a second, I need to wash this blood off my face," I said walking over to the stream. I gathered some water in my hands, splashing it on my face. As I was washing my face, I decided to try something and stuck my entire head inside of the water. It felt incredibly cold against my feathers as I slowly opened my mouth. The cold water rushed into my throat, and I half expected to start choking on the water. However, as I suspected, I could breathe in the water as easily as I breathed in oxygen. Suddenly I felt an arm grip my shoulder and hoist me out of the water. Ricky yelled in my face, "Are you okay?!"

I spat some of the water in my mouth at the ground. "Yeah, I'm fine."

"But ... you were .. drowning, weren't you?" Ricky said, his confidence turning to confusion.

"No, I was pretty much sitting there, doing nothing."

"Wait .. but, what about, you know, breathing?"

"Half of my DNA is of a Legendary, who lives thousands of feet under the water, take a guess. Anyway, we should probably talk about what we do from here. For example, should we show ourselves to the public?" I said, looking for my teammates' opinions.

"I don't see a problem with letting people know we exist. We're going to be seen eventually, might as well do it on our own terms." Ricky

"But if we show ourselves, the Teams after us will know exactly where we are." Jake countered.

"Would they really risk attacking us in the open? All the places where they've attacked us are out of the way and would be difficult for them to be noticed." I said.

"It could put the people around us in some serious danger," Emily said.

"If we stay in this general area, the majority of people in this area should have a high level of mastery with their Pokemon. Plus, we need to gain some battle experience anyway. There's going to be people who want to battle us." I said. I heard wingbeats coming from the direction of the waterfall. To be safe, I activated my Aura vision. It was faint, but I could see a human, a Pokemon, and something in between. "We'll finish this discussion later."

A gust of wind blew up as the Dragonite landed down and let its passengers off. "These are the kids who saved you?" A caped man with red hair said.

"Yes, that's them." Lance's uncle said, smiling at me.

"I must say, I was surprised when I saw you, and now there are even more like you? I'm surprised I haven't heard about this before." Lance turned to us. "Thank you very much for saving my uncle. If it's alright with you, I must ask, how did you become what you are now?"

I explained to him everything that my parent's had revealed to us just a few hours ago. "I had heard of that project, but I never thought something like that would happen. Anyway, my uncle has good words for all of you, especially you, um ... "

Realizing he was talking to me, "It's Chase."

"He's very appreciative of you cutting out the chip. We did a quick x-ray with some of the facilities in the League Center, there're no tracking devices left."

"That's good to hear," I said. Suddenly, I got an idea. "Mr. Lance?"

"Please, you can just call me Lance."

"Lance, I was wondering … would it be possible if we could train with you?" The rest of the group looked at me in shock "Crap, I should have talked with the group about this first."

"Hmm, why do you need to train with me? You're all quite powerful from what I can tell." Lance said, sounding amused.

"We're not as powerful as you think. I can't even pull off a proper Aeroblast right now, and it's one of my most powerful options in combat. Think about it. We become stronger so we can fight off any of the Team Rockets or Galactics that try and attack us, and your teams become accustomed to fighting Pokemorphs. Heck, I can't speak for the rest of the group, but I'm happy to do odd tasks around the area for the privilege."

"I suppose it only fits that a Lugia has a silver tongue. I don't see any problem with it, but I'll have to talk with the rest of the Elite Four, it's not a decision I can make on my own. And, before I talk to them. I'd like to see your potential, so I propose a battle between my Dragonite and two of you. Your choice who battles."

"You mind if I discuss this with the group?"

"Of course. Just let me know when you're ready."

I walked back to the group. "Sorry for not telling you guys that I was going to do that. I thought of it on the fly."

"No problem. Anyway, we're going to do it, right?" Emile said excitedly.

"Jake, what's your take on the matchup. Who would be the best to do it?" Jake

"Well, based on the type match-ups, I'm a shoe-in with Ice-typing. The question is the second partner. We have to assume that this Dragonite is incredibly strong. We have the advantage of being able to plan ahead, but it's still going to be difficult."

Thinking through the group's type matchup. "None of the rest of us have any good type matchups, so maybe we should look for a person who compliments Jake." Before we talked to Lance, I looked around the area for something that might help in the battle. I saw a berry tree out of the corner of my eye and grabbed a berry off the tree just in case. The group discussed it and we finally waved Lance over. "We've chosen our battlers."

"Really? Well, then. Follow me, I can get you into the arena without any problems." After a few minutes of walking, we entered a huge arena. "The rest of you can sit here, and the two battlers can come up to the battle platform." Jake and I stepped up to the platform. "Battlers ready?"

"Let's have a fair and fun match," I said.

"Indeed." The Dragonite said back.

"Begin!" Lance yelled out. I immediately rushed forward and charged up energy in my hand. The power took on a dark energy as I hit the Dragonite with it. The Dragonite barely flinched from the blow and became surrounded by a red energy, spiraling around the Dragon.

"Dragon Dance, huh? Figures. It should work with the strategy, but it's going to make our job much harder."

"Alright, let's start this off! Jake, go for."

"Freeze-Dry!" The moisture in the air around the Dragonite rapidly began to freeze. Unfortunately, as I somewhat suspected, the air around me began to freeze as well. I beat my wings using the wind produced by the flapping to keep the cold air away. "Sorry Chase."

"It's no problem. There was a reason that we matched up like this. Now it's my turn." I focused on the atmosphere around me as localized rain clouds began to form above me. "Rainy Day, and ..." The water coming from the rain clouds began to form in my hands. I held my hands together and prepared to fire.

Lance yelled out "Dragonite, use Fly now!" The Dragonite flew into the air, looking to use the height to dodge my blast. Smirking I dropped the control over the water and formed a barrier around myself. "It's too late!"

The winds quickly began to pick up and eventually turned into a gigantic squall and began dragging the Dragonite down. "I see. A bluff using a Rain Dance powered Hydro Pump. But it won't work. Dragonite is already in the … air ... "

"Hurricane!" The wind turned into a gigantic swirling mass of winds that forced the Dragonite down to the ground. I would have been hit as well if I hadn't used Protect. As the hurricane began to fade, I let the barrier down and flew up into the air as fast as I possibly could, the water that I was controlling streaming behind me. I charged the water up, feeling the pressure build as I stopped right above. Right as it was about to break out of my grasp, I let it go causing a gigantic blast of water to come crashing down. The Dragonite was still recovering from the hurricane and couldn't get out of the way of the blast. Jake followed up with a blast of ice that instantly froze the water and covered the Dragon-type with a thick sheet of ice.

The rest of our group looked in amazement, as they thought we had won the battle. I knew better, though. I stood at the ready, waiting for the Dragon's counterattack. A huge crack was heard throughout the hall as the Dragonite broke out of the ice and rushed towards us. Jake and I tried to get out of the way, but the Dragonite was still under the effects of Dragon Dance. The Dragonite's arm began to pulse with electricity and it rocketed it's arm out with a dangerously fast. The two of us both were able to get out of the way for the majority of the attack. But just as we thought we were safe, the electricity sparked up, sending us both flying. I slammed into a wall from the impact, tasting blood in the back of my mouth.

Quickly, I grabbed the Sitrus berry I had been saving. I felt the pain start to fade, but I would definitely be sore in the morning. Jake looked like he was completely KO'd. I got up slowly, my joints flaring up in pain with every movement. I took up a fighting stance trying to prepare for my opponent's next attack. "That's enough!" Lance said. "You both performed excellently on short notice. You didn't beat my Dragonite, but I didn't really expect you to."

I addressed the Dragonite. "You're insanely powerful. Regardless of the experience difference or not, you one-shot Jake and the only reason you didn't knock me out was because of my extra defenses compared to him. I feel honored that I was able to battle against you." I held out my hand in a gesture of goodwill.

"That means a lot coming from a Legendary such as yourself. Once you get some more experience, we should have another battle." We shook our hands, with me wincing a little because of the Dragonite's grip.

Lance walked over to Jake and pulled out a yellow diamond from his bag. He placed it on Jake, and Jake immediately began to wake up. He slowly got to his feet, staggering a little bit. "I believe if you're all able to perform at a similar level as these two, then we can train you in the areas where you're lacking, and really get you to a level where you can win fights a majority of the time," Lance said. "Once I talk with the rest of the Elite Four, we'll let you know. Can you be here at ..." Lance looked at his phone. "10 AM tomorrow?"

"Yeah, it's not like we have any school anymore. Sounds good. Thank you very much for the battle, I really enjoyed it."

"Same to you," Lance said. Kaylee's portal was already waiting as we prepared to leave.

"Hold it!" Tyler's voice rang out.

"What is it, Tyler?"

"There's no guarantee that Team Rocket isn't still there. I can scout the area with ease."

"How do you plan to do that?" I said.

My brother gave me a look and just jumped in the portal, turning invisible as he went in. I finally sat down and took a deep breath. I finished the Sitrus Berry in my hand, letting the berry's healing juice begin to close some of the wounds on my arms. Tyler's head peeked through the portal. "It's all clear." We all followed him through the portal.

"Kaylee, where was the switch that you used to make the house invisible?"

"Fourth floor, control room. But, how are you going to find the controls?"

"My aura vision can help, and I'll figure out the rest." The familiar blue haze fell over my eyes as the building slowly came into view. I opened the front door and raced up the stairs, my aura vision only illuminating obstacles that were a few feet in front of me. It was impressive that the entire building became camouflage rather than just the outside. I'd have to ask about the methods when I had some free time. I entered the control room and immediately began regretting not getting more information. I saw a button that said "Voice" and pressed it. A computerized voice said, "Please give a voice command."

"Decloak?"

"Voice command confirmed. User: Zephyr. Decloaking immediately." I let my Aura Vision go as the house began to appear before my very eyes. I was inside a room filled to the brim with electronics of all shapes and sizes. While this normally would have excited me, I was too tired to care. I looked through the rooms, found my room and immediately crashed on my bed as the darkness of unconsciousness took me.
