This drabble concerns Reddragon30000's OC, Elizabeth Blake Taylor. I have written this character beforehand, but this is the first time that I have posted anything onto the archive with the character in a central role. Elizabeth Blake Taylor and Wallace Brent are owned by Reddragon30000, and are simply used by me.

THE HYBRID

The horde of children silently strode down the corridor, seven of them, with thumping hearts. Ian Robinson creased his forehead up, concentrating on the numerous jokes he knew. He relayed them over and over in his mind, vainly attempting to track the humour but, for once, failing. Mandy Fletcher fiddled with the hem of her blazer, shooting reassuring smiles at Harvey Hunter and Ingrid Smith who were side by side, fingers brushing together.

Lloyd Hunter's fists were clenched and Dinah Glass was glaring at the back of Rose's head. When the Headmaster had commanded for SPLAT to be 'taken into custody', Rose had made a beeline for Dinah, snatching hold of the younger girl's arm with bruising force. And even though she was now unhanded, Dinah still rubbed at her arm tenderly, wishing that this had never occurred.

Up ahead, leading the group, was the Headmaster. His polished black shoes slapped onto the floor, gown swishing due to his fast pace. His hand was nestled on the back of one of his pupils, a pupil he held in high regard. A pupil who he could not believe had been fraternising with the group of troublemakers. Which had eventually led to plotting against him and partaking in a fiendish scheme, which if it had succeeded, would have resulted in his downfall.

His concealed eyes flickered towards the pupil in his grasp. Elizabeth Blake Taylor's eyes, like his, were concealed, but the Headmaster figured that those eyes contained fury. Just like his had, when discovering what those little rebels had been planning.

Elizabeth gave no indication as to how she currently felt. Her face was an impassive mask. However, on the inside, she was seething. They had been so close to thwarting the Headmaster's plans of dominating the country. Though Elizabeth appreciated the Headmaster's care for her and the fact that she was protected from the Prefects, and that her condition had been kept under wraps and handled well, she could not sit by and watch as the majority of the country was hypnotised.

As if she did, then it meant losing a great friend. Dinah. And Elizabeth would not allow her friend's mind to be warped under the Headmaster's control. She halted when the Headmaster did so, eyes contorting to slits as she encountered the Hall doors. The Headmaster whipped his head round to face the rest of his pupils, the hand on Elizabeth's back splaying out, a subtle warning for her not to try anything.

His cold, brisk voice held a hint of triumph as he snapped:

"All of you shall be quiet throughout the show. Jeff, Peter, I want you to deal with the troublemakers."

As the two Prefects gleefully nodded, the Headmaster ordered Rose:

"Keep Miss Glass in your sight. We do not want her disrupting the show."

Rose nodded, snatching hold of Dinah's bruised arm vindictively. The Headmaster then directed his gaze onto Elizabeth, stating more softly:

"I shall guide you to your seat."

Waiting for Elizabeth's nod, the Headmaster pushed open the doors, leading his school into the Hall. The hypnotised children and teachers dispersed to their sectioned rows, Peter and Jeff man-handling the Immune members of SPLAT up the stairs, to the back of the Hall.

Elizabeth gazed after them sadly, wanting to tell them that it would be alright, but she knew, deep down, that this situation would not end well. For anyone. The Headmaster nudged the eight year old towards the front row, murmuring:

"Elizabeth, do not allow the creature to take control and ruin the show."

Elizabeth gritted her teeth, snapping: "Don't worry, Sir. I'll keep it under control. Enjoy winning."

She collapsed into her seat, folding her arms over her chest, lapsing into a sulk. The Headmaster leant down, hissing:

"Do not act like a petulant child!"

His tone softened slightly. "I am….sorry that you disagree with my plans, but believe me, it is for the good of mankind. Now, Sarah shall be keeping an eye on you and after I have dominated the country, we need to have a little talk, concerning your future."

Elizabeth glared up at him, hissing: "What? Going to lock me up? Away from Wally?!"

The Headmaster shook his head in exasperation. "You are testing my patience, child. Act up anymore and I will not hesitate to provide you with a sore bottom. Now, let me cease your fears."

"I am not going to lock you up and you will continue to live under Mr Brent's care. Obviously, he shall be under my control, but I will not make him forget about his bond with you. Is that clear?"

Elizabeth nodded, sniping: "What about the millions of other people? Going to make them forget about their families?"

"Elizabeth, I-"

Her voice rose an octave, causing everyone to glance their way. "What about Dinah?! Going to make her forget about her foster family?! The family that cares for her and loves her-"

She was cut off by the Headmaster slapping a hand over her mouth. Her eyes widened, knowing that she had pushed him past his boundaries. The Headmaster glowered at her, snarling:

"I would be quiet, if I was you, little girl. One word from you during the show and you know what will happen. Do I make myself clear?"

Elizabeth nodded frantically, inhaling a massive breath when the Headmaster retracted his hand. He directed his gaze onto Sarah, who was seated next to the hybrid.

"Watch her."

Sarah nodded as the Headmaster addressed Elizabeth. "We will finish this discussion later."

Spinning on his heel, he strode towards the stage, leaving a deathly silence in his wake.

An hour and a half later, Elizabeth wandered out into the car park. She had bid farewell to SPLAT when they had approached the main school doors and had let them go ahead whilst she had checked her phone.

A grin graced her face at the prospect of watching Poirot and eating Pepperoni pizza with Wally when she got back to their house. However, the grin faded when she witnessed a commotion near the school gates. SPLAT had halted by them, frightened beyond belief.

Due to her heightened sense of hearing, Elizabeth could hear the faint whimpers of fear and terror clearly. And she herself, let slip a few of her own. Before SPLAT was a menacing, gowned figure. The Headmaster's blazing green eyes were clear to see and the gunge dripped from his gown every time he moved, which was a lot, as he was trembling with rage.

Elizabeth surveyed the scene warily, wincing as the Headmaster stamped off towards his car. Waiting for SPLAT to have left the grounds, she slunk over to her 'mentor.' The Headmaster growled as he wrenched the car door open, preparing to slide into the driver's seat.

Before he could, Elizabeth piped up:

"Hello, Sir."

Whirling round, the Headmaster snarled: "Have you come to mock me, Elizabeth? After all of those times that I helped you?! You do realise it was only because of your condition!"

He sneered. "I should have known that you would take their side. Now, out of my way!"

Elizabeth shook her head, steely expression forming onto her face. She snapped in a clipped tone:

"I am not here to mock you, Sir. And I know you gave me special privileges due to my condition, which I am grateful for. But, I need to speak to you."

Her anger flared as the Headmaster turned back round, preparing to climb into his car. He stilled, spinning round again when a roar reverberated around the car park.

"Listen to ME!"

Holding his hands up in a placating gesture, the Headmaster crooned: "Elizabeth, calm down. I shall listen to you."

Panting, Elizabeth, having subdued the creature, spat:

"You may have lost, but you didn't have the right to take it out on my friends! They were merely doing what they thought was best. What I thought was best! Hypnotising the country just so you could have power is bullshit! Why don't you just run for Prime Minister instead?!"

She sighed, posture deflating. "I had to rein in the creature part of me during the show. It wanted to claw your eyes out. I can't forgive you for what you did to my friends, I mean, threatening to KILL THEM?!"

Her tone of voice lowered to a whisper. "Would you have made them kill me too?"

"Of course not! That is absurd! If my plans had succeeded, I would have made sure that you were unharmed, I-"

Elizabeth held up a hand, stating coldly. "Save it. I don't want to hear any more about your plans. I thank you for everything you did for me over the past few months and for allowing Wally to study in the library, but I want you out of my life."

Backing away, she muttered: "Don't ever interfere with me or my friend's lives again. Otherwise…. I may not be able to keep the creature in line."

Turning on her heel, Elizabeth strode away, halting when the Headmaster murmured:

"Very well, I shall leave you and your friends alone. However, you must know that….."

Elizabeth whipped her head round, inquisitive eyebrow raised. "Yes, Sir?"

"That…. I considered you one of my best pupils. I might have even promoted you to become a Prefect at some point."

Elizabeth pulled a face. "Urgh, why would I want that?!"

The Headmaster snorted, continuing: "As I have stated, I only took interest in you at first due to your condition. But, over the time we have spent with each other…. I grew to, dare I say, like you."

The Headmaster grimaced, hurriedly sputtering out: "I meant to say that I do not hate you. You truly were an outstanding pupil of mine."

Facing his car again, the Headmaster whispered softly:

"Good luck for the future, Elizabeth. Inform Mr Brent that he may deliver his research, when finished, to my abode."

Elizabeth murmured an affirmative, watching the Headmaster as he disappeared into his car. As he started it up, she sighed and ambled out of the gates, the buzzing of her phone distracting her from her thoughts.

What she read caused an ear splitting grin to etch onto her face.

'Hurry up Liz! If you don't get home quick enough, your pizza might be gone! ;) W.'

Giggling, Elizabeth broke into a sprint, heading for home.

Unaware that the Headmaster's gaze was on her as his car smoothly rolled past.
