Chapter 7: Uncharted Territories

Um, yeahhh. Sorry for the wait. I was supposed to post this chapter right after the last one and when I reread it I was like what the hell am I writing. You guys would've hated it, I went too fast and started a whole bunch of drama that did not a bit of sense. So I've been rewriting this chapter ever since.

Honestly I didn't like last chapter. Hope this is better.

I don't own Naruto or any music that might appear within the story.

~-~ "Here goes nothing'"~-~

"Do that part again."

"What? No way, it was perfect that time"

"It was empty. Do it again Hiro."

"No. It was fine."

"Ugh, why don't you ever listen?"

"Because this time I'm the one that's right. It was perfect and I've done the same fucking thing fifty times Sakura. " He glared at her. His fingers were hurting and he was tired of writing and rewriting the tabs for their new song.

"Don't talk to me like that. If you were right then I wouldn't have said anything."

"Where did all this energy come from? Aren't you supposed to be 'sleeping like a rock in your comfy bed'?" This time she glared. And he rolled his eyes. They never really got into arguments but today was a different story. She had only been home two days and this was her idea of being calm and healing.

"Shut up. I can't sleep. I've slept for the past four days. I'll sleep when I'm dead." She smiled sweetly, drinking the jasmine tea in her favorite mug.

Hiro got up and put the guitar away. Peeling off his shirt and discarding it on the floor he headed to the bathroom. "Well I'm going to take a shower." He walked out of his gym shorts and was pushing down his boxers before he even got there.

"HEY! I'm here now! Have some damn courtesy, there's a lady in the room." Sakura covered her eyes only to scream when he threw his boxers at her. "GROSS!" she shrieked. Someone needed to learn some manners.

After she recovered from the trauma that had just occurred she put her mug in the sink and made the bed. She looked around the studio apartment; she was staying for sure this time. Nodding to herself she decided the place needed some color. Then she saw her phone light up. It was Sasuke.

"Hello."

"Where the hell are you?"

"Um, home?"

"They discharged you?"

"Yeah, yesterday. Why?"

"I went to the hospital. The nurse said you were gone. I thought you… Never mind. Can I speak to you in person?"

"You thought I what? And sure I guess. Hiro is leaving in a little while. I'll text you when he leaves. That okay?"

"Just forget it. Yeah, it's fine. See you later." He hung up before she could say anything else. Sakura tried to think of what he could possibly have to say to her. She wasn't in the hospital and he didn't have any obligation to her. Thoroughly confused she sat on the lumpy armchair that molded itself to her perfectly and watched Hiro emerge from the bathroom.

"Where you headed?"

"Just out. Nowhere special. I realize we need a little break so I'm going to try to change some things," Hiro grabbed his guitar case' "I'll be at the park, just text me if you need anything."

"Hey, I'm sorry for being bitchy about the song. I know we don't usually argue."

Hiro walked over to the recliner and kissed her forehead. "It's all good. It's been a while; a little argument is good every now and again. It keeps things in line." He grabbed his jacket and walked out.

Sakura sighed and reached for her phone, when she pulled up Sasuke's number she stared for a few minutes deciding at last that she wouldn't text him just yet. She got up and went to the bathroom. It wasn't the first time she had been in there since she got home, but it was the first time she was completely alone. She rolled her eyes and walked out, hearing her phone ring. She looked and it was Sasuke again.

"You know, you're the only person that calls me just as much as my mother."

"Fucking funny. I seriously need to talk to you, is now good?"

"Yeah now's fine."

"Then open the damn door." Sakura's eyebrows furrowed as she walked to the door with her phone still stuck to her ear. She hung up and opened it after looking through the peephole.

"Aren't you fast, come in." she moved aside to let the male in. To her surprise he had his guitar with him.

"I need your opinion." Sasuke sat on the lumpy sofa and leaned forward. Sakura realized she had yet to see him in casual clothes; he looked exactly like he did before she left. Maybe with the addition of one or two more tattoos. She sat in the recliner again and eyed him.

"On what?"

"What do you think?" He looked at the case on the floor.

"You won't probably get what you want for it, it's definitely getting kind of old. We were what, sixteen?"

He gave her a confused look and tilted him head a little. "What the hell are you talking about?"

"Well you're selling it, that's my opinion on what you'll have to deal with."

"I'm not selling it, I wrote something and I needed some guidance, if you will."

"Oh, okay then." She straightened up in her seat. "Let's hear it."

"It's rough. So don't expect much."

"Just go Sasuke." He glared at her a little and grabbed the guitar, and began to play.

I've lost the plot again

Tell your friends to sharpen their teeth

There's a few quid to be made

He looked at Sakura and she nodded.

And my soul's a sorry state

So come on down, you're empty lovers

Worms come out of the woodwork

And the snakes start to sing

Do you feel the chill,

Clawing at the back of your neck?

I start to spill

Did you really think that you could fix me?

He looked at her again measuring her expression.

They'll sell your bones for another roll

Well sharpen your teeth

Tell yourself that it's just business

Worms come out of the woodwork

Leeches come from out of the dirt

Rats comes out of the holes they call home

I fall apart

And the snakes start to sing.

He stopped playing and put the guitar down. "So?"

"That was good, almost perfect. When did you write that?"

"Around when you left. I kept myself really busy."

"It's just been laying around?"

"Karin found it and freaked out."

"Why?"

"Because I told her that I had given up on the music thing for sure. I guess she didn't realize it was old." He shrugged and leaned back against the back of the couch.

Sakura shook her head; she really couldn't stand that girl. There was nothing wrong with writing. Much less so when it was good. "Seriously, why do you even stay with her?"

"You already know why."

"That's a total bullshit copout Sasuke. That wasn't your fault; she's all fucking business and nothing else. Who doesn't let someone else make music?"

"Look Sakura, not everything is going to play out how you thought."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"I'm not going to leave her for you, we aren't going to have a perfect fucking life."

"That's not what I want Sasuke. I just want you to be able to keep making music and playing. God, it comes so fucking naturally to you. Why don't you see that? What the hell has to happen for you to realize that you are a musician and you cant just stop being one? What's wrong with you? Did you not just listen to yourself play that song just now? You're so damn infuriating."

"I didn't think that's what you wanted."

"Of course you didn't because you wont hear me out. Everything is Karin this, Karin that, Karin will, Karin won't. What the hell happened to Sasuke? What about him? What does he want? I sure as hell know he doesn't want to be married and running a business at twenty-three years old. "

"I don't know what I want Sakura. I just thought you would like the song. You can have it if you want."

"That's such a fucking lie Sasuke. What do you want?" She asked again.

"I seriously don't know. I wouldn't be able to tell you right now. I used to know, but everything is different now."

"What did you want, then?" Sakura stared at him. Hoping to stir something up within him. He had been so cold and empty and that wasn't Sasuke.

He thought for a second, trying to find his words. "I wanted to go with you. I wanted what you wanted. Music was our lives and there was nothing but that. And I was pissed because I just couldn't leave. I was jealous and angry and fucking hurt because I met this girl that I used to replace what I had and it ended up being a total fuck up. I was isolated and forced and just fucking thrown into something I had no interest in. and I had to fucking deal, while my best friend was out there, without me, making it. Why the hell did you I was so nasty to you? Did you really think I doubted you? Did you think that I would've said all that if I would've been able to go?"

"You didn't have to hurt me to get your point across Sasuke. You could've told me how you felt I would've stayed. I wouldn't ever purposely do something to hurt any of my friends. But I didn't know any of that, I can't read minds."

"I know you can't."

"Why did you want me to leave after I finally came back?"

He searched for his answer again. "I guess I was used to wanting you gone."

"Well that's heartless." She rolled her eyes.

"Well when youre angry for years it's hard to forget you know?"

"No I don't. Sorry."

"Yeah I figured." He got up and put the guitar away heading for the door.

"Sasuke."

"What Sakura?"

"Come here." He walked over to her and kneeled down in front of her.

"What?"

She held his face and kissed his forehead. "I'm sorry." She let him go and he stood back up looking around the apartment that used to be theirs, and walked back to the door.

"The place could use some color." And he walked out.

Okayy. So there it is. Like I said sorry for the wait. I just did not know where I was going. They're trying though! As you can tell Sasuke is more open than normal, I try to keep him in character though. Open and distant at the same time aint easy peasy.

The song is 'And the Snakes Start To Sing' by Bring Me The Horizon off their newest album Sempiternal.

Love you guys. Please review it really means a lot to me.
