Chapter 7 - Precise Calculating

Henry noticed the hole, became a bird and flew over to the other side. Meanwhile, I dropped into the hole. Henry continued to fly towards the other end. Previously, we had made an agreement that if we were ever to be split up, one should continue and rescue the other, only when it would be safe for both of us.

It turned out things weren't as easy as I thought they would be.

Immediately when I landed at the bottom of the hole, I heard a voice. "Coomeee heree..." it said, trying to lure me over.

No, don't, I thought. Don't go over there.

"Commeee here..."

Resist. You are not the guiding voice. You are the trapping one. Go. Away.

The voice vanished, leaving me sweating and my heart pounding quickly.

When I regained my senses, I realized that I couldn't move from where I was standing. All of my weapons were gone, too. Thinking I was hopeless, I suddenly remembered an event back at camp.

"So she was like failing so badly, shooting arrows toward Annabeth - who was 25 feet to the left, and then on her 16th try - BAAMMMMM! She smashed the darts board with a bulls-eye and the pieces came flying out!" Percy yelled at the Athena campers, who looked quite unhappy.

"Why is Percy acting crazy?" I ask, casting a half-amused look at Annabeth.

Annabeth shrugs. "Probably that Percy ate a huge bag of skittles. Now he's acting all crazy. I've got just the right thing to do..."

"Hey Percy! If you don't calm down this moment, I swear you will get no letters from me for the rest of the week!"

Percy froze. "No letters?" he said, looking frightened.

"Yes. Now get back to the Poseidon table's seats and start eating. Please don't yell at my siblings again", Annabeth grinned, flashing a thumbs up. After that, she whispered, "- and that's how you get a sugar high boyfriend to stop being high".

After she said that, several younger campers began snickering. Shrugging, Annabeth turned back to eat her olive pizza. "Although isn't it weird? Why does everything about you have to do with sixteen?"

Athena and Aphrodite had told me back in the armory there was one more thing I had to keep in mind. It had to do with a number... sixteen! As soon as I realized that, my dagger bracelet returns to me.

I continued to think about things until only my spear remained. Wondering how to get it, I realized that I could now climb out of the hole, so I did. For some reason, after I got back my dagger bracelet, I had been walking on a path without knowing it. I turn into a bear and try to see if I can track Henry's scent, but no matter how far I run I can't get a trace.

"Hecate!" I yell. "What did you do? I know you're controlling where I am right now!"

Hecate appears again as a mist-like image. "That was a test to see if you remembered the true meaning of the dream after arriving at Camp Half-Blood," she said.

"Where's Henry?"

"I got rid of him... he isn't who you think he is."

Angry, I ask, "How am I even going to get back? Where am I? Where are Piper and Iris-Violet?"

"I don't know. You'll have to find your way back on your own."

"Where's my spear?"

Hecate gulped. "I can't answer that," she exclaimed, "Although what I can say is that Hermes knows more than I do," and quickly flashed away. I thought back to how in Camp Half-Blood, Nico said that Hecate could transport them into the underground, while he couldn't. Now Hecate is telling me that Hermes knows more than she does? She was the person who set all of this up!

Angry, I walk along the edges of the hole I came out of, and decide to trace my path if I can.

A/N: I've realized that in these chapters, my grammar seems to be better. That's nice. I'm also cutting it a bit short here since I've run out of content.
