Chapter 7

"Sisemore" He says and extends his hand. He maintains eye contact with me, but I begin to analyze him. He appears to be younger than te rest of his peers, but still older than me. Compared to his cabin mates, he is not as strong looking. He is still muscular but his lean frame contrast with his muscle definitions.

"You don't talk?" Sisemore states and begins retract his hand. "Hey man, we're all family here. By the looks of it, you belong here. But you can never be too sure." I decide not to be a jerk and I shake his hand. "Theseus. Theseus Jackson. But you can call me Theece." I say and smile back.

"Damn, you even have the shark teeth." Sisemore states in wonder," So Determined, or undetermined?"

I am confused by his question. I frown,"I dont really know what you mean. Uh, I'm a new kid..so.."

The campers grown, and the girl controlling the water waves her hand and her water ball rises into the air.

Sisemore turns to his mates, "Hey, hey, hey guys. Chill." he shakes his head as if he's disappointed but continues to converse with me.

"I'm sorry Theece, I really am. It's just new campers..." he pauses,"Well the numbers are getting low, and word about your escort here spread fast. Rumor has it that you're..." He stops himself, "It's whatever. You're here now, and you're okay. You were out for two weeks." He sweeps his dark hair out of his eyes and smiles again. "Welcome to Cabin Three! AKA Sea-Rat Cabin, AKA Poopdeck Cabin, the list goes on."

Charley laughs from behind me. Sisemore continues," We're the kids of Poseidon, Sea God, EarthShaker, StormBringer, The Awesomest and the Coolest god ever." The other three kids raise their arms and give a comical whoop. Sisemore pic up again, "Haha, yeah, we tend to get teased a lot, the other Demigods get kinda jealous of us."

"Why?" I ask

"Well, because. Since we are Percy's siblings. And arguably the most dangerous kind of Demigod." That name again, Percy.

"What makes you so dangerous?" I ask

"Uhh well, we're the physically strongest because of our father's physical strength, and we control the sea, make storms, and uhh shake the earth from time to time. But our other Big Three's could argue that they're the most powerful sooo yeah."

I am taken aback, these guys are seriously powerful. Charley told me that Big Three's are naturally stronger and faster, but all these extra powers... wow.

"So what are your names." I ask.

The waterbender girl speaks up in a raspy voice,"Hey my name is Kiera." She is beautiful but rugged at the same. She has high regal cheekbones and eyes that were slightly slanted. She looked almost Native American. Kiera gestures to the huge dude in the back. "That's Sedrik. He was brought here all the way from Ghana." He grunts. " Oh and he almost never talks."

The last kid looks up at me and smiles. "My name is, like,Jacob." He speaks slowly and laid back, like a stereotypical surfer dude. Our little meeting is cut short by the sound of a horn. A conch horn. How I knew this, I had no idea.

"Whelp, time to eat!" Charley says as she exits the cabin. I chase after her.

"Where are you going?" I ask

"I have to go meet up with my siblings, you know, my cabin mates."

I remember what Charley told me about how the cabins are organized based on godly parent.

"Oh, right. So who's your dad?"

She folds her arms and raises an eyebrow. "Theece, not all gods are male. My mother is Nike, goddess of Victory."

A pang of jealousy strikes me. I know it sounds bratty, but I wish my parent was something cool like Victory, or War, or Justice. Heck, I just wish I knew who my parent was. Charley begins to walk away

"Wait!" I call after her.

She turn around again?

"Yesss Theece?" She asks sarcastically.

"Please, who is my parent?" I ask desperately. Charley's sarcastic gaze melts into one of pity, like the knowledge was hurting her. She says nothing and looks me in the eye. Then she zips away to her fellow cabin mates.

I look out on the camp and see all the cabins, all the siblings, joking and laughing. Embracing greeting each other. I realize that this was this first day of summer, apparently I had missed that since I was in a two week healing coma. By the looks of it, these kids haven't seen each other for the year. A summer camp. I feel wildly alone. I have no family and even the green girls and goat-men travel in groups to the dining pavilion.

I feel the weight of a hand place on my shoulder. I turn around and see Sisemore looking at me apologetically. "Look man, you can sit with us today. I know what it's like to be undetermined. We all do." Sedrick lumbers over and towers above me. He pulls me into a bone-crushing hug that lifts me off the ground. When I meet the earth again and my breath returns, Kiera gives me a gentle hug and a small peck on the forehead. From behind her Jacob says, "Yeahhh Theece! Chillin' with Cabin Three! Clutch!"

I smile at them and we join the mass trek to the dining pavilion. I notice a man standing in the woods. He is tall and well cut with deep brown skin. He has large regal black wings. As I raise my hand to wave he vanishes into the shadows.

The food at camp looks great even though everything is lean cut and healthy. The drinks are interesting as well. You just imagine what you want and it appears in the chalice. When my plate is full and I am about to sit and eat, I notice that the other campers stop by a large central fire and offer some of their food and give a silent moment before going to eat.

"Offerings." Kiera says from behind me. "You offer some of your food to the gods, and give a prayer to your uhhh... The god of your choice."

I look at her. The smell from all those different foods being burned all at once must smell horrendous. I wonder what type of gods we are actually related to. Probably some really smelly ones. When it comes to my turn to offer, I scoop up my juiciest piece of brisket and toss it into the furnace.

"If you're listening, give me a sign, show me who you are. Show me what I am." I choke up a bit, and Kiera rubs my back.

The dinner table was even crazier. The demigods are super rowdy, cracking jokes, arm wrestling, and having burp contests. It was crazy fun. But soon everyone began to quiet down.

Chriron walked in, followed by a man that looked about twenty. He was tall and muscular, and I could sense a quiet power within him, similar to the power in the Poseidon kids. The similarities didn't end there, he looked like the Cabin Three kids. But he looked exactly like me. He takes his seat at the head of the Dining Pavilion and makes eye contact with me.

He winks. There is something about him that makes me mad. I realize that somehow he is pulling an emotion out of me. I felt like pulling out a sword and challenging him to a duel. I get that feeling in my gut and I thrust my hands out. His drink explodes, but before it can make him wet he freezes the liquid in the air.

There are a series of gasps and everyone in the camp is looking at me in shock. I try to apologized but no words come out. Then I notice that they aren't looking at me, but something above me.

I slowly look up and see a symbol that I recognize from earlier. A glowing green holographic sword overlapped by a trident. As I stare at the sign it begins to dissipate into a shower of light.

The whole camp is silent for a good ten seconds. I hear Jacob shout,"Yeah Theece! Whooo!"

Chiron stands and clears his throat."ALL HAIL THESEUS! SON OF THE GOD PERSEUS, GOD OF THE WAVES, OF HEROES, OF SWORDSMANSHIP, AND THE PRINCE OF THE SEA! ALL HAIL THESEUS, SON OF THE TIDAL GOD!' The campers stand up and bow down. They begin to cheer, but it sounds forced. I am directed to an empty table with the sword-trident symbol on it.

I am by myself again, and dinner goes on. However, people are now talking about me, pointing and looking. I get angry. Angry at the camp, angry at myself for asking to be claimed, angry at Perseus. Angry that he ignored me for ignoring me for fifteen years. I begin to toy with my necklace. A glass vile filled with gray sand. As I finger the pendant I get angry again, Perseus gave it to me as a gift.

"Woah, how are you doing that?"

I look up from the table and I am met with large, thoughtful, stormy grey eyes. The boy looks about my age with tanned skin and blonde hair. He has an athletic frame like the other kids at this camp. I can see he is a bit shorty than me.

"Doing what?"

"That."

"That what?" I begin to get annoyed. He motions to my cup. I see a violent miniature vortex swirling in my cup.

"Oh uhhh.." I say as the vortex slows down.

"Are you mad?"

"Am I...What? No! Who are you?" I ask, annoyed. The vortex picks up again.

He is unfazed by my apparent rudeness. "Mack, my name is Mack. Son of Athena, Cabin Six." He extends his hand and smiles.

I look at him and shake his hand warily. This guy is nuts.

"Hey, my name is-"

"Theseus Jackson. Yeah I know, we all kind of know you now Son of Perseus."

I grit my teeth."Don't call me Theseus, call me Theece."

"Haha, yea I feel you my real name is almost as bad as Theseus. That's why I go by Mack."

He speaks so fast I almost missed that he just insulted my name. I make eye contact with Charley and she walks over.

"Gods Mack, why are you so annoying? Theece doesn't need that right now." Charley scolds.

"Hey, lay off Charlene. Me and Theece are having a intellectual conversation." He smiles at Charley as if he's used to annoying her.

"Don't call me that." She says as she leans on the table.

"Okay, I'm sorry. I just wanted to cheer Theece up. He looked so kind of lonely."

I feel bad for being a jerk to Mack. He was just trying to be nice.

"Hey man it's cool. I was just a little mad after being humiliated by-"

"Me?"

I look over and sitting next to me is Percy Jackson.
