Note: I do not own Buffy, Harry, or anything else you may recognize...I'm only borrowing it from Joss Whedon and JK Rowling...Hope you like it...Enjoy...

Silence greeted me as I entered the house. It was a rare night where no one was milling around. Everyone was out, either on dates or back on campus, or in Buffy's case on patrol. Xander was taking the others to the Bronze again before they left in a couple of days.

The past month was great with having them around. I had convinced Luna and George to tell the others and all were ecstatic. Ron had turned to Ginny and Harry, telling them not to get any ideas. Their reply was to smile and it unsettled Ron until they laughed and mentioned that Teddy was enough for the moment.

Neville and Xander had gone out in search for dates several times but neither had much luck. One weekend I sent them to LA and by Monday both had smiles on their faces.

I shook my head coming back to the present. I waddled to the kitchen and grabbed some pumpkin juice. Since coming out magically, I indulged in things I couldn't before. There was even a little stash of butterbeer in the basement fridge, next to William's blood.

With my juice, I went into the living room and turned on the TV. I settled on a sitcom that I hadn't seen before and relaxed. Just as the episode hit its third commercial break, my back started to spasm. I reached around to massage it like I normally do but the pain started to rip through my lower belly.

"Bloody hell."

I heaved myself off the couch and waddled to the little desk where the phone was. I tried calling Joyce but there was no answer and I didn't have the name of the restaurant where her and her date were going. Willow wasn't in the dorm room and Oz's bandmate/roommate said he was out.

"Please be home, please be home," I pleaded through a contraction.

"You have reached Rupert Giles. Unfortunately I am unavailable to answer your call. Please leave your message after the beep. BEEP!"

"Where the bloody hell are you, Dad. I'm in labor and no one is here. I'm calling Xander and Buffy next but if I get no answer, I'm making my way to the rental house."

Buffy didn't like carrying a mobile but I thought Riley was with her so I called his. I finally got through to someone.

"Riley, is Buffy there with you?"

"Ah no, Dee. I had to head home to Iowa. Family emergency. Why?"

"I'm in labor and no one is here. I'll get someone. Good luck with the emergency."

"Good luck with delivery. I'm sure someone will come home soon."

Xander's mobile rang and rang. I dialed Information and had them connect me to the Bronze. I explained I needed them to locate my friends. I waited as I heard Xander's name being called and then an announcement made over the stage mic. It seemed like they weren't there anymore.

"Jesus Bloody Christ."

I left a note and started the short trek to the rental house. Because it was outside of the city limits, my Healer could Floo over and help deliver my baby with magic if necessary. My bags and other necessities were already there. I just had to get there before going into full delivery.

"My my, such a ripe female."

Standing no more than 5 feet in front of me was a tall built man. The streetlamp light bounced off his brown hair and I saw the tell tale ridges of vampire. I pulled out a stake and a bottle of holy water.

"I'm giving you a warning. I may not move as fast as I once could but you don't want to get in the way of a mother bear. I will bloody kill you before you even touch me," I threatened.

The vampire took a step forward. I uncapped the bottle of holy water and flung it at him. As it burned his face slightly, I pulled my wand. There was little option so I had to chance using magic.

"Lumos Maximus!"

The tip of my wand flashed brightly before puttering out. It didn't do much to dissuade the vampire from moving closer.

"I CALL TO ISIS, GODDESS OF MOTHERHOOD, PROTECT ME FROM THIS BEAST. I CALL TO HERA, GODDESS OF ALL, PROTECT ME FROM THIS BEAST. PROTECT ME UNTIL MY CHILD MAY BE BORN. I CALL TO YOU, ISIS AND HERA, FOR PROTECTION OF MY CHILD," I yelled.

The sky above became darker and thunder could be heard. Wind began whipping around us as I felt something within me. I grabbed the pointed end of the stake with my fingers and flung it at the vampire. The goddesses made sure it impacted where it needed to be. The vampire crumpled into dust on the sidewalk.

"Thank you and blessed be, Goddess Isis. Thank you and blessed be, Goddess Hera. May the birth of my child bring prosperity and happiness to you both."

The sky dimmed and the thunder stopped but a slight wind stayed with me until I crossed the city limits. With access to my magic, the protection of the goddesses weren't needed any longer. I started up the small driveway to the rental house when my water broke. I grabbed my knees and breathed through the contraction.

I made it to the front door, unlocking it with a spell before the next one hit. With how fast they were coming and with the intensity, I knew I didn't have much time. I crossed to the fireplace and threw in the Floo powder.

"Healer Ambrose Office, Los Angeles."

No one came to the Floo. I could see into her office but she wasn't there. I stuck my hand through and cast my Patronus. I sent off the bear with a message hoping it could find her despite the distance. Sitting back against the couch, I cast my Patronus again with a message for the others.

"In labor. At rental house. Need help now," I seethed through another contraction.

The bear ran off and I grabbed at the blanket on the couch. If no help was coming, I would be delivering my baby myself. I pushed up my skirt and discarded my underwear. I covered myself with the blanket and felt around down there. Another contraction hit and instinct told me to push.

I grabbed behind my knees and bore down. I counted to 10 and breathed. I counted another 10 before the contraction let up. I summoned clean towels and tucked a couple under me if I couldn't grab the baby in time. I bore down again screaming through the 10 counts.

"Deedra!"

Neville, Luna, and George were standing in the doorway. While the guys stood there, Luna came over and smoothed my hair back.

"Where are the others?"

"They were going to grab Willow and Oz from campus before heading back to your house. After awhile at the Bronze, we didn't feel comfortable about leaving you alone. We came here to grab some things for you before walking there," Luna said.

"The baby's coming and I thought I was going to be alone. I was nearly attacked by a vampire on my way here but the goddesses saved me. The Healer isn't in her office. I don't know what to do, Luna. Oh, Merlin!" I cried as another contraction hit.

A strong arm wrapped around my waist and held me up. As I bore down and pushed, I glanced up at Neville's soft brown eyes.

"We'll make sure your little one is born safe and healthy."

Luna moved down and lifted the blanket to see what the progress was. She lowered the blanket and turned to her fiancé.

"George, there's a book upstairs in our room next to the bed. Get it and then see if you can contact the others."

The redhead summoned the book and handed it to Luna. She flipped to a chapter and found whatever she was looking for.

"Deedra, it's too late for the pain spell. I can see the top of the head. Once he's here, I can do the rest but first, I need you to push with the contractions."

"I don't like this bossy Luna. I want the unique Luna, the Luna that is fascinated with Ferby the Crumpled…Arg," I cried.

Neville supported me as I pushed and Luna held onto the baby's head as it came out. I breathed for a second before bearing down again.

"The others are here, Dee. I see everyone coming," George yelled from the front door.

"About bloody time," I screamed as I pushed the shoulders through.

The rest of the body eased out quickly and Luna placed it on my stomach. She cast the spell to cut the umbilical cord and another to clean the baby's nose and mouth. A loud cry filled the room. I slumped back against Neville's chest and stared at my baby. Luna wrapped a clean blanket around the baby and covered me up.

A pop of apparition sounded in the next room and the Healer strode in, pushing past my friends and father. She ran her wand over the both of us to make sure we were alright and she finished up the delivery.

"Well done, Deedra. When your Patronus found me, I was heading back to the office after a late bite to eat. With the help of your friends, you delivered quite well. A healthy baby boy, 9 pounds 7 ounces and 23 inches long."

"A boy? You had a boy," Dad stammered.

Healer Ambrose helped me up after changing me into a dressing gown. She helped me to sit on the couch as the others crowded around.

"Only a quick visit. I need to show Deedra a few spells and Muggle techniques for breast feeding before I take leave," she instructed.

I held my son in my arms and allowed my family to see him. His eyes were closed but I tapped him on the nose softly and he looked at me. His eyes were a soft gray and it made my heart clench. What little hair he had was my honey brown. Aside from the color of eyes, he looked like me.

"He's adorable, Dee. Have you picked out a name?" Joyce asked.

"Dorian. Dorian Winston Giles."
