Chapter Seven

Karin and Tiffany stood in shock at the now furious young man that was standing in front of them and the now destroyed med bay.

"Where is he!" yelled David. He stared straight at Liara.

"I can't say..".

David relaxed slightly. Realising that yelling and threatening wasn't going to get him anywhere. He had to try a more logical approach if he was going to get what he wanted. Revenge.

"Commander Shepard, report to the air lock with your special guest".

"Sir, I don't understand" replied Shepard.

"Your Prothean guest, your murdering and genocidal guest. If you don't bring him to me, I'll come and get him" he said sternly.

"How did you know?" asked Karin.

"I've had fifty thousand years to read expressions on people's faces".

David stormed out of the room and head for the airlock, leaving all three ladies in the med bay still in complete shock.

Karin ran up to Liara. "Did he hurt you? We didn't see what happened but didn't realise what was going on till he threw the table".

"No he didn't hurt me, but I hurt him" replied Liara quietly.

"We better go after him" added Tiffany.

All three of them bolted through the door and down the corridor. They could see David in the distance sprinting for the airlock. They watched as he stood in front of the airlock and waited.

They approached David from behind. He was in a stance that said he was ready to fight. The door for the air lock opened and James and Ashley appeared holding rifles directly at David.

"It might be wise to back off Admiral" said James.

David flared green, lifted both Ashely and James into the air and sent them hurtling into the bulkhead of the airlock. "It might be wise not to underestimate me…oh wait you did".

David strolled onto the Normandy. "EDI, ship lock down. Authorization Jenkins alpha three zero five. Put all command and access codes in lock out and give me full control".

There was just one beep. "Admiral Jenkins, all command and access codes disabled, ship functions under your control" said EDI.

Joker popped out from the cockpit. "What the hell are you doing Admiral?!".

"Getting some revenge on an old genocidal enemy". David walked down to the galaxy map and stared. Liara, Tiffany and Chakwas had continued to follow and didn't attempt to interfere in case they got the same treatment as James and Ashley, who at this point had gotten up and come up behind the group. There weapons still trained on the Admiral.

"EDI, location of your Prothean guest?".

"Admiral Jenkins, Commander Javiks location is on deck four, port cargo bay".

"Commander Javik?" said David.

"Yes, we found him on Eden Prime" replied EDI.

"EDI, start emergency decompression of port cargo bay".

Liara stepped forward and went to tackle David. "NO!" she yelled.

David lifted his arm and Liara went flying into the control panel David was standing in front of. "No?" David asked.

"Commander Javik happened to be the bastard that murdered my mother!" he yelled.

"He was the one who led the orbital bombardment of the district she was living in. All that remained after that attack was dust and ash. When I'm done with him, nothing more but that will be left of him".

The hiss of the elevator door opening got the attention of David and standing before him was Commander Shepard hold a rifle and Commander Javik standing beside her, hands behind his back.

"Admiral David Jenkins, we finally meet" said Javik.

"You know of me, how nice. Did you know my mother?"

"No, she's ash remember you stupid primitive".

At that exact moment David screamed and leapt across the room in a green flash, grabbing Javik and tossing him out of the elevator. Javik regained his footing quickly as David came round again. Javik was prepared for this.

Javik Jumped at David, putting his fist into his jaw and putting David on the floor. David rolled over backwards and regained his footing, wiping the blood from his mouth, smiling.

David green energy flared again as Javik was once again lifted and was thrown towards David. At that moment David jumped, back flipped and just as Javik was where David was another green flash caused David to come crashing down on Javik and both went straight through the deck and landed in the middle of the med bay.

All on the upper deck raced over to the now massive whole in the deck and people already on deck three went rushing over to the window of the med bay.

Both Javik and David were dazed. David regained his composure first, taking advantage of Javiks disorientation, jumping over on top of him. He grabbed Javiks head with both hand and screamed again. Just at that moment Javiks head exploded and blood cover the med bay.

David stood there, standing over the headless corps breathing heavily. He spat on the corps and walked away. He green energy around him still glowing extremely bright. He wiped a trickle of blood of his cheek as he stepped out of the med bay to see many eyes just staring at him.

"EDI, give all command and access codes back to Commander Shepard, authorization Jenkins alpha three zero five".

"All codes re opened to Commander Shepard".

"Admiral Jenkins to Kelly".

"XO Kelly here, yes sir?".

"As of this moment, you are acting Captain of the Vengeance and are ordered to set a course for the Citadel and wait for further instructions from Commander Shepard. I am at this time under arrest for murder".

"Sir, I don't quiet follow?".

"You don't have to Kelly. Just follow my last orders". David at that point headed for the port observation room, the door opened with a hiss and shut just the same. David walked up to the window and stared out into the emptiness of dark space.

There was a knock at the door. "Enter" said David, not turning around to face the door.

"David".

"Yes" replied David.

"Want to talk about it?".

"No" answered David.

"Are you sure, I'm a good listener".

"That worked once on me Liara. Not again" stated David.

Liara walked up next to David who at this point had not moved from facing the window. "You know I have now seen a bit more of you now…from that meld".

David took a deep breath and exhaled. "And what did you find out?", not even bothering to look at Liara.

"The only one I'll care to mention at this point is that everything you do, you would only do for the right reason. So answer me this David. What you just did, how was that in any way the right thing to do. After everything you did in the past, for your people and it comes down to this".

"What I did before was for myself and myself only. I know where you are going with this Liara, you'll bring my mum up any second now and ask what she would think of me after seeing what I just did. Well she's dead, they are all dead and I have to live with that every second of everyday".

Liara shook her head and went to leave. "I thought you would be one of kind. But you're no different than other Human's from the period of time you're from".

David laughed. "You know that you're not the first to say that too me. You want to know who the first was?".

Liara stopped just before the door and turned around to see David already had. "My mother was the first".

Liara rose an eyebrow. "Your mother?".

David took a step forward. "I've done worst things than what you just saw and luckily when you were probing around in my mind…you didn't see them".

David went back to looking out through the window. "I'm guessing that you are the last person that I know that I'll see for a while. Let Commander Shepard know that I won't cause any trouble, she can hand me over to the Alliance brass".

Liara nodded and left the room without saying another word. The door hissed shut and once again David was alone. He closed his eyes for just a second and sudden explosion knocked David clear across the room. He got back up with a grunt.

"Admiral Jenkins to CIC, Admiral Jenkins to CIC" came a call over the internal communication system.

Without letting a second pass, he head for the elevator at full chat.
