Hey guys, I'm back. Man, this was a hard chapter to write but Yu is officially part of this story now, so yay! I wasn't sure how I wanted to write his character since he is a blank slate. I decided to go with a more modest and friendly approach that most people agree on. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy. See you at the bottom.

In the morning I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on my door. I sat up, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes before calling out to the person, "Come in."

A woman, my mother, opened the door and walked in. "Good morning love, breakfast is ready for you downstairs. We brought all of your stuff from the Amagi Inn, so I need you to get ready for school and be downstairs in a few minutes, okay?" I nodded and she left.

I laid in bed a few seconds before getting up. I walked over to the closet and found all the outfits I had bought hanging up. I grabbed a school outfit and changed into it before moving on to the bathroom. It was right next to my room so it didn't take me long to find it. Inside I found a new toothbrush and hairbrush, and I used them to brush my teeth and my hair before heading downstairs.

After getting downstairs, I headed into the kitchen and found my mom and sister inside, sitting at the table. They were already eating, but a plate was set up in front of an empty seat. I assumed it was mine so I took a seat and started poking at the food.

"Is everything alright?" My mom asked, looking at me with worry in her eyes.

"Uh, yeah, sorry, it's just, yesterday was kind of exciting yet stressful at the same time and it's all sort of catching up."

"Well, if you need anything don't be afraid to tell me or your father, we'll help you as best we can." I gave her a grateful smile before finally tucking into my food.

When we were finished my mom walked me and my sister to the bus. Apparently she was only a year younger than me, so we would be attending the same high school. We spent the bus ride in silence as well as the walk to school itself.

When we got to the shoe lockers she quickly changed and went after who I can only assume was either a classmate or a friend.

I headed upstairs to my homeroom and was a bit surprised to see Yukiko and Chie inside. They were already talking so I went to my seat and sat down, my mind drifting off as I waited for class to start.

I was jostled out of my thoughts when someone walked over to me and sat in the seat right in front of me. That seat had been empty since I had enrolled here, why would someone be sitting there now? Maybe they had gotten mixed up.

The person sitting in front of me turned to look at me and I was able to get a good look at him. He had grayish silver hair in a bowl cut and sharp silver eyes. He was wearing a normal school uniform but he had the front of his jacket completely open, showing a white button up shirt with a collar.

"Who are you?" I asked in curiosity, I had never seen him around before. Then again, I wasn't familiar with everyone in town.

"Yu Narukami, I'm new here. I just got into town a few days ago and I was transferred to this school." Ah, that explained it. "I haven't seen you around either, and I was going to ask you the same thing."

"My name's Yosuke, I was out of school for-" I paused, unsure of how to explain it, "Registration problems."

"Oh, your dracon?" He asked.

"Dracon?" I asked, it sounded a bit like dragon, but I wasn't sure what he meant.

"Sorry, it's what we called dragons where I came from." He apologized.

"It's alright, yeah I'm dracon, what about you?" I asked.

"Yup, I'm a light element, you?"

"Fire." I was going to keep talking but King Moron walked in and everyone in the class quieted down and faced forward.

"Alright you bunch of morons, sit down and shut up. You kids don't know the value of hard work now a days, you're too busy on your IPods and your MyFaces. You're so busying reading stories about vampires and werewolves and all that crap, you look past the proper stuff. I bet I can call on any one of you and ask you a question and you wouldn't know the answer. Let's see, new kid stand up." Yu moved to stand but King Moron stopped him. "No, not you, Hanamura!"

I jumped out of my seat, waiting for the question. "What is the name of Shakespeare's first play, and what year did it come out?" My mind went completely blank, I had never heard of this Shakespeare person, let alone know about any of his plays. I was panicking slightly, he always ragged on people who didn't know the answer to his questions.

"Psst, hey, it's Henry VI in 1589." I heard Yu whisper to me, low enough to where King Moron couldn't hear. I wasn't sure if it was right, but it was better than nothing.

"Henry VI in 1589?" I both asked and answered, hoping Yu was right.

"Hmm, looks like you do know something after all. So Shakespeare was-" I sat back down with a sigh of relief.

"Thank you so much man, you totally saved my hide. He would have chewed me out for half the class if I got it wrong." I quietly thanked him.

"No problem, I could kind of tell you were panicking." He responded

~.~.~. After School ~.~.~.

As I packed up my supplies into my messenger bag the new kid, Yu, came over. "Hey." I said, finished putting my stuff away. "Thanks again for saving my hide earlier, King Moron would never let me live it down."

He smiled before replying, "No problem, we had just finished the Shakespeare section in the school I transferred from, so it was still fresh on my mind." He moved to the side as I stood up from my seat. "I actually wanted to know if you wanted to hang out right now."

"Hang out? Like, do things together?" I asked, confused. Why would he want to do stuff with me? We barely met and knew nothing about each other. Surely there were other students who would be happy to get to know him.

"Well, yeah. I mean, I already met Yukiko and Chie on the first day of school, Chie practically attacked me when class had finished. And they told me that you were their friend and that you're a pretty nice guy. I thought I'd get to know you better, since they speak so well about you, but if you don't want to, I understand." His expression fell as he said the last part.

"N-no, that's not it." I stuttered, feeling bad that I had upset him. "I was just kind of surprised, I mean, we barely met and we know nothing about each other. Most girls would be all over the 'hot new transfer student.' It surprised me that you'd want to hang out with someone like me."

He gave me a weird look after I said that and I started to wonder if I had something wrong again. "So you think I'm hot?" Oh, so that was it. Wait, did I actually call him hot? I hadn't meant to say it. I felt my face heat up as I stuttered, trying to recover.

"I-I didn't mean it like that." His face fell and my heart dropped when I realized that might have upset him. "I'm not saying you're not attractive, I'm sure the girls find you attractive. I just meant the people are probably curious about you since you haven't been here for long."

He chuckled lightly before responding, "I know what you meant, I was just playing around. Yeah, some of the girls were really curious for the first few days, but when they saw me hanging out with Chie and Yukiko they backed off, I guess they assumed I was dating one of them."

"Are you?" I asked, man had I missed a lot during the one week I was out of school.

"No, I prefer to get to know a girl better before I even ask her out on a date. I don't just date someone because of their looks. So did you want to hang out? We could go somewhere in town or we could even go to Okina. It's not that far, it's maybe a 20-minute train ride, and there's a lot of things to do there so you won't get bored."

"Sure, I've never been to Okina before." I swung the messenger bag over my shoulder as I stood up, "Let's go."

I followed Yu out of school and through town. We ended up on the opposite side of town from where my house was. Yu went up to a machine and bought two tickets while we waited for the train.

It was only a few minutes before the train arrived and we boarded it. There was no one else in the car we were in so we got to pick any seat we wanted. I took one opposite of the door right next to a window so I could see the outside. Yu took a seat next to me as the train started moving and was silent as I watched the trees fly by.

After a few minutes of silence, he cleared his throat. I looked back at him slightly confused, what did he want?

"So what do you usually do after school? I mean, Yukiko and Chie made it sound like you don't have a lot of friends."

"To be honest, this is only my second day of school."

He looked surprised before he asked, "Were you home schooled before?"

"No, I've never actually been to a school before this one." He looked like he was about to ask something but I quickly cut him off. "I really don't want to talk about it." He nodded in understanding.

A soft pinging noise went off and I looked around, trying to figure out where the noise was coming from. Yu pulled something out of his pocket. It looked like a chunk of metal and he flipped it open, revealing a little screen on the top half and buttons on the bottom half. The screen seemed to have words on it and Yu read them before typing something out on the buttons and closing it.

"Sorry, it was my uncle. He had to work today so he wants me to grab something for me and my cousin Nanako to eat for dinner on my way home."

"So you're staying with your uncle in town?" I asked, he nodded in response. "Why aren't you staying with your parents?" He made a strange face and I quickly back peddled, realizing I had touched on a bad subject.

"Nevermind, you don't have to answer that. You know, when I first got to Inaba I wasn't living with my parents either. Heck, I didn't even know who they were until I went for registration."

"Wait, I thought you only went recently, you did say something about registration problems. You look like your older than 15, and you're in a second year class." He looked at me confused.

"Well, I am 16, but there were personal reasons for me not being able to register until recently, and like I said before, I really don't want to talk about it." He nodded before flipping the device open and became engrossed in it.

We rode the rest of the ride in silence and soon we had gotten to our stop. I followed Yu off the train and through the train station. We walked down a flight of stairs and we were in the middle of a huge city. I was slightly overwhelmed by the size as well as the amount of people there were, I had never seen this many people in one place. The streets were a lot wider than in Inaba and there were a lot more cars zooming by then I had ever seen.

"So where do you want to go first?" I was pulled out of my thoughts when Yu asked that question. I looked at him in confusion.

"Well, what kind of things are there to do? I mean, I don't know anything about this city, I'm barely getting used to Inaba."

"There are a lot of things to do, we could catch a movie at the movie theater, we could go check out a few books at the bookstore, or we can grab a snack and some coffee at the café." He explained to me.

I thought about for a second before deciding, "Let's grab something at the café, then we could check out the other things you were talking about." He nodded, turned and started walking.

I followed closely behind, not wanting to get separated from him. I'd probably end up completely lost if I lost him. As we passed a few stores I glanced into the windows to see what they had, taking note of those I might want to visit later.

Eventually we ended up in a small building. When we walked in the first thing in our line of vision was some sort of display case filled with all kinds of goodies and behind it was a bookcase that held what looked like tea and candles. Next to it was a counter made out of what seemed to be stone, the bottom half having some sort design carved into it.

The walls were tan with dark brown stripes running diagonally down the wall. The carpet had a diamond shaped pattern, the inside being light brown and the outline a cream color. A variety of pictures were hanging along the wall as well.

We stood in front of the display case and a man told us to sit wherever we wanted. Yu took a seat in a lounge chair close to the register and I took the seat across from him. It seemed most in the seats in the café were the same, two light blue lounge chairs around a small table with a blue checkered tablecloth. Although there were a few booths against the walls, they also had a blue tablecloth like those on the smaller tables.

A man approached us and asked for our orders. I let Yu order for me, since I had no experience with coffee shops or anything they might have to eat. He ordered two specialty brews and two muffins. The man gave us our muffins before going to make our coffees.

I nibbled on the muffin as we waited, unsure of the flavor. I was actually surprised by the sweetness and really enjoyed. I quickly finished the muffin off as the man returned with two cups which I assumed were our coffees. He dropped them off and went to go attend to someone who had just entered.

I looked back down at my cup and at the murky, dark brown liquid inside it. It didn't look too appealing, but it was better than nothing. I picked it up and took a tentative sip of it, not sure what to expect from it.

The taste actually wasn't that bad at first, it was slightly bitter, but that was barely noticeable. Then there was a rush of flavor that overwhelmed my taste buds, and it was amazing. I quickly chugged down the rest of the cup, feeling completely energized then turned to Yu. In complete contrast to my energeticness, he looked groggy and ready to pass out.

I jumped out of my seat, already getting bored of just sitting down. I grabbed Yu's arm, and dragged him out of his seat. "Come on Yu! There's still so much to see. We're not going to see it sitting here on our butts drinking coffee." He walked over to the register and I bounced in place as he paid for our snacks and drinks. I wasn't sure where all this energy was coming from but I loved it and I was not letting it go to waste.

As soon as Yu finished paying, I grabbed his arm and ran out of the café, dragging him behind me. I pulled him down the street, dodging through people who were walking down the sidewalk. I came to a stop in front of a machine that had all kinds of toys in it. "Yu! Yu! What is this thing? How do I get those toys inside?"

"It's a crane game." He mumbled while rubbing his eyes. "You have to use that claw to try and grab one of those toys, and if you can get it over to the box then you win."

"Ooh, can I try?" I asked, bouncing up and down in excitement.

"Sure." He pulled his wallet out and gave me a few coins. "You can use that for a few tries. When you finish, I'll be over here." He walked over to a bench and sat down. I turned back to the machine and put a coin in. I grabbed the stick and used it to try to position the crane over a toy before pushing the button to let it drop. Unfortunately, I hadn't been able to grab anything so I popped in another coin.

After 5 tries I had run out of coins and had not a single prize to show for it. I ran back to Yu who had now passed out on the bench. I shook him until he woke up with a start. "I finished, let's go somewhere else!" He grumbled as I pulled him up and started running to the next stop.

I ran all over the town's main area, not really paying attention about how much time was passing or the people around us. At some point I actually lost Yu and was now wandering the streets without a guide. After a few hours the coffee was starting to wear off and with it my hyperness.

I came to my senses in the middle of a dirty alley. I had no idea what I was even doing here, but now that I was back to my senses, they were all screaming to get the heck out of there. As I turned to go back to the main streets, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and a voice rang out, "Well well well, if it isn't our little runaway."

My breath caught in my throat and I froze in place, refusing to believe what was happening. This couldn't be happening, I had escaped from them, I was starting my own life. Part of me was screaming to run, get somewhere safe or with a lot of people so he couldn't take me. Another part however, refused to comprehend just what was going on and kept me frozen in place.

I couldn't move a muscle as I heard footsteps approach me. "I knew it was only a matter of time until we tracked you down again, you know you belong with us don't you? This world won't accept you, you're an insignificant little speck to them. To us however, you are our most significant asset, and its time we bring you back."

As an arm wrapped around me, I was finally able to react. I gave a frightened yelp and struggled to break free. I couldn't go back, I had gotten my taste of freedom and I didn't want to give it up.

"Ah ah, can't have you fighting now can we? Don't worry, I'll make it all go away now." I gave a whine as I felt something stuck in my arm. The fight quickly left me, my body refusing to do anything I ordered it.

The man holding me set me down as I started to lose conscious. The last thing I saw before I blacked out was a familiar silverette running into the alley, shouting my name.

Okay, so I need to go over something for you guys. I currently own only a Playstation 2 and the original version of Persona 4. So the only things about Okina that I know are from cutscenes, but I knew I wanted to bring it in to work on the plot and the relationship between Yosuke and Yu. I did a little research on the Shin Megami Tensei Wiki about just what Okina had to offer. When I found out there was a café, I knew it was perfect, but I knew nothing about it. So I did a bit more digging and got some ideas from a site that essentially does a let's play in text where I also found the setting for the café itself. So I'm sorry if the dialogue or the description of the café is off. I don't ow Persona 4 Golden, so I had nothing solid to go off of.

Also, if anyone thinks Yosuke's response to the coffee was extreme, I can tell you from experience that its not. I wasn't allowed caffeine for most of my childhood. My first caffeinated drink was when I was 14, and boy did I go crazy. I don't remember much, but this was based off of the story my mom told me that happened after the caffeine hit. I have ADHD so that might have been a contributing factor.

That's all for now, I hope you guys enjoyed it. Love it, hate it, just review it. Buh-bye!
