The tension in the air was far too palpable as the princess' and Marceline waited in the main hall anxiously awaiting the closure of the final meeting for 150 years. Princess Bubblegum stood with Wildberry Princess, Warrior Princess, Lumpy Space Princess, and (of course) Marceline. All stood tense and painfully silent for minute after agonizing minute, each seeming longer than before.
"Oh my glob! When is this stupid meeting going to be over? I like want to get out of here! The suspense is killing me!" LSP shouting, dramatically flailing her arms. Marceline shot the annoying princess and quick cold glare before turning back around, completely unnoticed by the frantic purple princess. She couldn't, shouldn't, even be mad at the outbreak. She felt the same inside. At least it wasn't quiet. The quiet is always the worst part.
"I'm sure everything is going as smoothly as possible, LSP. We just have to be patient. Our parents have much to discuss." Pb smiled a nervous smile at LSP before turning her attention back to the door. The smile on her face quickly morphing into the worry she so clearly felt. The door was terrifying in itself. Two large mahogany doors carved with the scene of what appeared to be a war between a vast array of humanoid creatures. What race they were, nobody really knew, or if they did they never said. Vampire, Candy people, demons, or (as rumor had it) 'humans'. All the humanoid creatures appeared to be terrified or in pain. They fell, screamed, covered their faces, and cowered while others stood tall fighting each other. At the top was a huge mushroom like cloud carved larger than anything else. The handles being large black iron rings completely devoid of any kind of scratches or abrasions. Marceline snickered.
"This is nothing. It doesn't matter what those old guys have to say. Who says they have to control everything we do anyway?" Marceline turned around and gave them a reassuring grin. The princess' were visibly a little less tense, but that did nothing to help Marceline. She talked a big game, but on the inside she was more than terrified. Another 200 years in the Nightosphere and Marceline would go mad. She felt a warm hand enters hers, and she felt a bit better. And a bit worse, seeing the look on Bonnibel's face as she looked at that carved wooden door. Whether that door would be the gate to heaven or hell, it was not yet apparent.

Hunson looked around at the creatures gathered, so different from the squishy, fleshy creatures he delt with so long before, but also so very the same. Right now the Lumpy Space Wind-Bag was going on about something or other. For him, he did not care. He knew the Weakling, I mean "Warrior", King, was looking for weaknesses in Hunson. The thought made him grin. He leaned back in his chair and rested a long leg across his knee, glaring around the room with those deceiving, mocking red eyes. A voice change, the wind bag was finished, and now it was The Raggedy (because that was a horrible title in itself) Queen was speaking.
"She may be half-demon, but she's half human as well, and humans can't last in the Nightosphere." The Lumpy Space Wind-bag interrupted, as was his habit.
"What concern is that of ours? What's more, even if the girl was permitted to leave, where would she go?" A murmur of agreement traveled around the room. Charles spoke.
"She could easily find shelter in one of the kingdoms. She's more human than anything, and not nearly as dangerous as anything in the Nightosphere. Kingdom's have been known to take wards before." The Flame Queen interjected.
"You mean hostages. Children hostages to keep others in line. Is that what you're suggesting King Bubblegum?"
"Why should any one kingdom have to? The child could always roam as free as the why-wolves." The Vampire King chuckled.
"The Raspberry Kingdom, for one, wants nothing to do with this."
"The Hot Dog Kingdom either." The voices called out one by one until finally only a few domains were left. The Nightosphere (of course), The Vampire Domain, The Warrior Nation, and The Candy Kingdom. Defiant looks shrouding worried faces. Hunson leaned forward to assume a more serious position.
"Well, well it seems we've reached an impasse. Who's going to steal my daughter?"
